Food: When we first walked in, it didn't look like they had much in the way of ice cream. However, they actually offered a wide variety of choices, including cones, sundaes, and shakes. We ended up ordering a couple of Turtle Sundaes, a PB Lovers Sundae, and a Pumpkin Shake. It took a few minutes for our order to be prepared, and everything was delivered to our table. All of the items were excellent. They looked great, were generously filled, topped with plenty of whipped cream, and finished with a cherry on top. Everything looked like it had been made with care. Service: I'm not exactly sure, but I think the person helping us may have been the owner. They were super friendly and helpful and did a great job explaining the different sundae options. Our order was delivered to the table promptly, with an appropriate sense of urgency. After all, nobody wants the whipped cream to melt! Atmosphere: The shop is located at the end of a larger strip-mall-style building and has an outdoor seating area with several tables. Since it was a little cool outside, we chose to sit indoors. There were large tables that worked well for groups, along with big windows that let in plenty of natural light. Several other tables were occupied, and people were enjoying friendly conversations. The noise level was comfortable and made for a pleasant experience. Glad we stopped in. We've heard they make great burgers, so we'll have to come back and try those next time.

This is the third time that we've got burgers at Hefner's. A single cheese with everything. A very good burger with very good toppings. The bun is away fresh, but, with a single burger, it's a little too much bun from my perspective. (3 1/2 stars). Next time I'll try one of Hefner's specialty burgers. I especially like Hefner's custard and shakes. (4 1/2 stars) For me, it's always the flavor of the day or vanilla. I love the vibe of this place, and while there, it's fun to drop some quarters in the pinball machines and play a few games. Takes me back to a simpler time, before video games. I also love that Hefner's employs mostly teenagers. It seems like a great place to work and develop teenage friendships. Probably the first job for many of these kids. Hefner's recently installed a Toast Point of Sale system. The teenagers will love this new POS as it will help generate more tips. Hefner's is a great local place to hang out; get some pretty good food that is reasonably priced. It's fun. Let's continue to give them our support as a local landmark.

First, the place is cash only...had to find an ATM nearby before we could even order. We couldn't order at the counter ourselves, and had to wait for a one of the car hop girls to take our order. It was busy, so we expected to wait a bit. Ordered a cheeseburger with ketchup, brat, 2 orders of fries, a vanilla shake and a chocolate shake. Food shows up after 15 minutes, and the bill is just over $28. They forgot the brat, the burger was only as thick as the slice of unmelted cheese on it, and was drenched in ketchup...slid apart as soon as I picked it up. Fries were okay, shakes were pretty good. All said and done, nothing to get excited about. We'll probably never be back. Overpriced, not great food. Save your money and go someplace else.

My flurry was huuuuge--just how I like it. The deluxe sundaes were extremely large, and absolutely picture perfect. We stopped in about 20 minutes to close and they were happy to serve us still. (Given, we were only looking for custard and not a full meal.) The service was fast and friendly. They did turn the lights off about 10 minutes after close. The place itself is super cute. The menu seems pretty varied. I can't wait to go back!

Both ended up being about $26 with tax and tip, which is pretty reasonable for how much food there was. Service was friendly and efficient.
