Had an amazing Valentine's Day date night here, but the only thing were semi complaining about is the upkeep of the course. Leaves and sticks everywhere. I usually wouldn't complain on something so simple but when you're playing a game such as Mini golf, nobody really wants unnecessary obstacles in the way. Other than that, so much fun and so unique! Inexpensive, fun, parking could be better. Overflow parking is in McDonald's lot next to fence next to bike shop This Mini-Golf location likes a lot of the "ball goes in hole" and comes out somewhere else. Be aware of it, I thought I lost my ball lol. read more

In my humble opinion, this is the ultimate activity that can be done on an evening in Austin. For a bachelor party I took 5 of my friends with me and we played a good, clean, boozey 36 holes and enjoyed every single second of it. First off, it's cheap as heck to play here. You might run into some slow groups because of large families or large groups drinking, but it's a fun time if you've got enough time to spare. Second, you can bring a cooler of whatever you like (not in a glass bottle) to enjoy while you're hacking your way around the course. There are gas stations and liquor stores close enough to walk to the Peter Pan which makes it extremely convenient. Third, you'd expect this place to be in absolute shambles when it comes to the mini golf, but it's actually pretty well-maintained considering the clientel and the overall fun vibe you get from the place. 5 OUT OF 5 WOULD RECOMMEND. read more

I am driven past this place no less than 3000 times. Really. That's the number. And I never went there. I figured it was just for a little kids having birthday parties or whatever. But on a boring Covid lockdown weekend I took a bunch of adults 30 to 50 there and oh my God was it a hoot. It's really compact and that they sort of snake all the holes around each other but it works. The design of the holes could be pretty diabolical and whether you are expert or beginner you're likely to have a pretty good time here. I think it was eight bucks a person. Great group of people just having some drinks, and playing some golf. Parking is limited, can park across the street on a little side road and walk on over. Just a friendly reminder, no glass allowed, but feel free to bring a cooler and stock up on your favorite beverages... stay away from any IPA beers if you want a better score than what I normally get. We came here on a Saturday night to get out of the house and have some fun. Luckily for us Peter Pan Mini-Golf was a great choice and we had a fun night! They offer an easy and difficult 18 hole course. I've done both before, but the difficult course is better because there's less children. However, there are also semi-drunk adults slowing you down on the difficult course. We got stuck behind a group of 12 people which kept us waiting at every hole, but we made the most out of it because what else would we expect on a weekend evening? If you're on a date with just two of y'all, I wouldn't go when it's busy because you'll be slowed down significantly. It's a little trashy because it's BYOB, but nothing too bad. As long as you don't expect too much from this staple outdoor putt putt place, you'll have a great time! FYI- there is very limited parking, but you can park on the south end of the McDonalds next door, just read the signs posted along the fence. Also CASH ONLY. read more

Peter Pan is truly emblematic of the transformation of Austin. I used to come here as a kid and this time I brought my nephews to share the same experience. We were literally the first ones there when it opened at 10am. Reasons: - Poor customer service. The attendee (millennial in his late 20s or early 30s) had a terrible attitude. On his phone as he was checking us out. Never made eye contact, huffing/puffing and a couple of eye rolls. This is why people hate our entitled generation (I'm a millennial as well). Why has Austin become a beacon of these types of people? - Overcrowded. Like Austin, PP Mini Golf soon had a lines in order to play. I felt rushed because I knew the longer we took on a hole, the more the next party has to wait. - Poor infrastructure. Wrinkled turf and broken figures on almost every other hole. It definitely wasn't like this when I was a kid. We just pretended that the poor upkeep just made the course more challenging! - Homelessness. My nephews constantly complained of the smell on hole 6 and 7. Why? Well there was a homeless encampment on the east side of the fence (uphill). Unfortunately, the run off seeped into PP mini golf. Like a microcosm of Austin's socioeconomics and education, I suggest playing on the west side of the course to avoid the sewage smell on the east side. Still fun and affordable... But maybe that will change with more Californian immigrating causing prices to increase by 50% :) read more

Lots of fun! We had kids age of 2 and 8, they did great and the figures and courses kept them entertained. I think that my husband and I would've also had a blast alone and able to play both courses. (18 is all the kids could handle comfortably) The course doesn't have much shade during the hot afternoons. They only take cash and the parking is very limited. We've been in Austin for 3 years and have seen and heard from others how fun this place is! My mom was very excited to play and kick some ass. Parking right in front of this place is tricky. It's a small lot. They have a deal with the McDonald's next door where you can park at the South of their lot along the chain link fence. They have signs indicating this as well. It's very busy on Saturday's! It cost $28 for the 4 of us to play, that's a great price! We asked for recommendations on which course we should do and were told the back one because the front one was extra crowded. In my opinion, the whole place was extra crowded. And some people just don't or won't understand the common courtesy of playing mini golf. There is an order and you don't walk on someones green while they are playing. Very rude. All in all, we had a great time but I do wish they would limit exactly how many people can play at a time. It was overpopulated and it ruined my experience to say the least. Definitely worth a try though but I doubt we will be back again. read more

Price per person is very reasonable for the course. Since it gets busy on the weekends, I did feel a bit rushed through the course. Came here with my husband, as well as his cousin and her spouse, for a double-date while we were in town visiting them. We loved the retro feel this place has. However, we went there this past weekend and it appeared they were not limiting their capacity at all or enforcing wearing masks. Went there last night. Zero masks being worn, zero social distancing, we got freaked out and left. The clubs aren't even cleaned between customers. Really cool that Austin has such an original mini golf place! They have pretty long hours so this procrastinator friendly, cool big sculptures and super affordable. My s/o and I got there around 9ish when it was pretty dark already but the courses were all lit well. Negatives are there were some mosquitoes but we didn't get bit bad. The parking is also not very big in-front but mini golf is a relatively fast activity (1 hr-ish) so spots seem to consistently open. Would recommend tho, really fun! read more

Peter Pan is a magical mofo place that will make a 40(cough) year old feel like a 10 year old. Well, a 10 year old drinking champs in a can anyway. I was so excited when BFF suggested Peter Pan for my bday fun day as I'd NEVER been. Such a bad Austinite, I know, but I can't tell you how surprised and floored I was to see my name on the marquee when we pulled up. Not gonna lie....I felt like the most important person in Austin at that moment. We bought two games each ($9 CASH each) and had a priceless time. We saw a squirrel trying to steal pizza, played thru the digestive tracts of many an animal (I really got hung up in the whale), made holes in one and took pictures of said holes, shared our champs with a bunch of the iconic statues, made a new friend with a local that hugged my neck when she found out it was my bday and took our pic in the T-Rex crotch, took selfies with the turtle and the Transgender Tinkerbell, exclaimed that the Peter Pan had been on this planet as long as we had, and basically laughed and acted goofy for 2 hours. Your times may vary depending on how, uh, stoned you are (the stoners very sweetly invited us to play through them). It truly was the best way to spend an unusually glorious January afternoon. Few things are better than showing off your competitive side with a beer in hand. The cement creatures are old and beat to hell (totally charming), you will find everything from Peter himself, to the giant white Rabbit who has a hole in his ass - looks to have been created by someone's putter. What you won't find? TinkerBell. Wheelchair ramps. Food. Not being a breeder, I like this place because we can go here for a date and not have kids swarming around us for 18 holes. We had friends from out of town here for a few days and thought it would be fun to do something different and have an adult only day of mini golf! We have driven past this place multiple times while out and about downtown, so I was excited to finally check them out. We went before noon on a Friday and had it mostly to ourselves. The first thing I noticed was that the prices are great! They have two courses with 18 holes each (East and West) and it's $9 a person if you want to play both or $6 a person for just one. For kids it's $4 for one or $7 for both. That price includes the ball and club rental and it's even BYOB!! (No glass bottles though). For refreshments they offer soda, bottled water, and multiple sno cone flavors for $1 each. Be sure to bring cash though because they don't accept credit/debit cards. They do have an ATM on site in case you forget. I liked that each hole featured a handmade sculpture which I thought was so appropriately Austin. We were even lucky enough to see an artist there sculpting a new one that was a replica of the capital. It's fun because each hole brings a new obstacle to overcome and some are downright impossible. (Seriously guys, the one with the bridge?! I'd like to see the person who can make a hole in one on that!!) ;-) Not having played mini golf since I was a teenager, it was very nostalgic and we all had a blast. We did both courses and took a shaded break in between to grab a drink and tally the scores. I won the first round (probably because East was the easier course), but I still got to hold that over my husband so it all worked out. I imagine the one downside here is parking. For us it wasn't an issue, but their lot is quite small so I bet during popular hours or a child's birthday party it's best to carpool if you can. With it being spring, the bees were out in full force yesterday too. They must really like the type of flowers they plant along the courses because there were about 3-4 of them buzzing around each of us at a time. If you are allergic you may want to wait and go in the summer, or bring your Epipen. Whether you bring the kids or come to day drink and have a friendly competition, any age will have fun here. While visiting this lil gem in the heart of Austin you might wonder what tetanus shots are going for over at Breckenridge these days and you will probably wish you had brought some hand sanitizer (I doubt it has been cleaned since it opened in 1946), but you'll also have one hellova time. Who cares if Clifford the big, red dog looks like a penis from behind? Who cares if the ball exits through the blue whale's crumbling [expletive]? Not I. Who wouldn't love BYOB mini-golf? The concept is hilariously effective. If you loved mini-golf as a kid, then you're guaranteed to love mini-golf in a state of mild to severe inebriation as an adult, and this is a prime place to do that (though keep in mind that there are probably going to be families here as well). The golf course itself is on the smaller side, but for the low price of admission it's solid! The sculptures that they have in the course are also.. iconic, and I love it. Since it is a smaller course, you might have to wait for the people ahead of you to finish their hole, at times, but that's ok because it just gives you more time to uh enjoy your beverage and talk to whomever you're with. 10/10 read more

You can bring in your own drinks, just no glass, open till late hours of the night, and only $9 for two 18 hole courses. You are taking part in a piece of Austin history as you are putting around the greens of this historic course, open since 1946. Just remember to bring cash or check, as they don't take credit cards. They do have ATM machines, but we all know how expensive those fees are. There are two 18 hole courses to choose from, east or west. They say that the east side is easier, but I am not sure that is true. There are more split level, hidden obstacles on the east side than the west. My friends all thought the west was easier. Lots of great photo ops abound at this colorful course, and I love that they have tables for you to utilize to write down your score for us competitive folk at each hole. There is a very small parking lot with free spots available, and as this is a loved place, you will usually need to wait a bit in line. But, as I noticed, being with friends we never seemed to notice the wait, as we were constantly chatting away about how unfair the previous hole had treated us unskilled folk. Well, half the course was closed for an event when we stopped in, but this place is still fun as ever. We had to stop in for a round while in town visiting because my wife had never played proper mini-golf before. She'd gone to 'putting ranges', but nothing like this. Really, it's a good time. It's not too expensive. It's a neat and unique experience. The statues are great to look at, and the course flows well. The parking lot is kinda small, but it was easy to get a spot when I was there.
