This isn't going to be the even close to the best mini golf you've ever played, but there are a few creative holes. But what's neat is how you learn something about war around the world on each hole. I especially related to the bombing of Pearl harbor, being from Hawaii. Don't sneak in your own beverages even though it's expensive to buy drinks (yes alcohol too)... my understanding is the profits go to a good cause and fixing up the memorial.

We visited again today and they've expanded so much! It's nice to learn ad you get a game in. The museum is wonderful!

made us feel so uncomfortable to be honest & we didn't even get off the car, although the owners clarified its a museum piece seeing it prominently displayed in the window still made for a very jarring arrival

This place is a hidden little gem me and my son went on an afternoon outing. They have a great World War II theme and museum inside. The course was a lot of fun and challenging loved all the history at each hole that you could read about important not to forget our military history and the people that gave their life for us. I love this place because it's very important for the youth to never forget and also it's really cool they also have a couple of food trucks and a great picnic sitting area with playground will definitely be back.

Plenty of room upstairs.

Our family of four enjoyed a great 2 day staycation in their new treehouse that is literally up within a few of the live oak trees on their property. The A/C worked perfect and kept the place very cool even during the summer 100+ degree hot streak that we've been experiencing. We brought our own board/card games and spent some time inside during the warmer hours. The upstairs loft has two comfortable twin beds that the kiddos really enjoyed and the downstairs was a plush king bed that allowed us to sleep very well over our stay. The place even has a microwave, WiFi, TV, mini fridge, and a normal flushing toilet with running water! My wife and I particularly enjoyed waking up early and slowly consuming our coffee on the front porch while peacefully reading books. We noticed dozens of birds in the nearby canopies ... several different species. Road noise was minimal outside on the porch and non-existent inside the tree house. We even got to play a few rounds of complementary mini gold during our stay. The course requires some skill but it was fun for us to get better and better every time we played it. We will be coming back for sure. If you are wanting to experience a super fun stay in a unique location, look no further!

Such a fun place! The owner is super nice. My mom and I loved all of the Decor and WW2 items! The outside course is super clean, turf, covered with trees for shade, such a fun layout and tons of facts and memorials along the way. There's a mini course inside and there's a cabin on property to Airbnb!

An around-the-corner hole without borders or bumpers to get the ball around or keep it out of the rocks.

Really fun in concept and very creative turf patterns but the course is almost unplayable, particularly for kids. The courses don't have borders and are very uneven so unless you're able to knock in hole-in-ones, the ball is rolling out of bounds into the gravel. It has a lot of promise and could be great but just needs to make it more family friendly.

Great mini-golf spot! The historical/educational aspect made every hole interesting and fun. SUPER clean and well made, really nice turf but it's not fast so put some umph in your putts. Lots of great things for kids, the plane playground was a hit. Can't wait until the beer garden opens next month! The annual membership is a great deal if you live nearby and your kids love mini-golf.

The course is fun and challenging! And you learn a lot about WWII. The Bahama Bucks truck is a nice treat after a hot round as well!

Ask the Community - Memorial Mini-Golf And Museum

Hi, is it still BYOB on the course? Thank you!

No, we sell beer and wine now. Pricing is less than convenient stores on most items. Thanks - Brian

Calling all nostalgia buffs! Love toys and games from the…read more60s? How about the 70s? 80s? 90s? Come on down! The museum has an incredibly large display of toys from those eras. Not to mention arcade games like pinball and video games. Here's a fun tidbit, you can play the games! Playing them is free. Well, you do pay admission to enter the museum so it's part of that. I've only been once and it was sensory overload! So much to take in. Definitely gonna need to go back at least one more time. Of course there's a gift shop that sells vintage toys and all kinds of other great stuff. They even sell beer & cider refreshments (not vintage lol). To me this is a place to see at least once whether a visitor to Austin or a resident.

There are additional displays featuring Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Barbie, Sailor Moon, Transformers, Dragon Ball, Power Rangers, Monchhichi, Pokémon, and more. We played several arcade games, including Crazy Taxi, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Dance Dance Revolution. Most of the arcade machines worked well, except for the Xbox. They also play old TV commercials on small screens scattered throughout the store. It really feels like a time capsule of shared experiences with my older cousins, and I had a lot of fun. I didn't expect there to be an admission fee--$17 for adults and $11 for kids--but the arcade games are included with admission.

I'm drawn to classically influenced, figurative sculpture, rather than highly abstract contemporary styles. Umlauf's work was precisely that -- it focused on the human form primarily and touched upon themes of religion, war, love, beauty. There were some pieces that took my breath away, particularly the refugee mother and baby pieces. The garden itself is small (you'll likely spend an hour here, at most) but very pleasant to stroll around. The trees were bare when we visited but I can see it being even lovelier in spring/summer. Very reasonable admission fee ($8 per adult). Children 0-4 are free. Super friendly staff. The woman working the front desk was very kind to us and made our family feel so welcome (we brought our two small children). Small parking area but it wasn't crowded when we came (despite it being a weekend afternoon). If you're visiting Austin and you like classical and figurative sculptural work, make sure you add this spot to your itinerary.

This celebration of life ceremony was a deeply moving and beautifully planned tribute to her life well-lived. The ceremony took place in UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum. The grounds are serene and peaceful with art sculptures sprinkled throughout the garden. UMLAUF is strategically hidden behind Zilker Park in Austin, TX. The garden was a perfect place for my friend's celebration of life. She would have loved the tree canopy, small ponds, and the bronze and stone works in the garden. My friends passing caused me to think about life, death and the dash in between the two. The commentary today came from her younger brother, two friends and her aunt. Their glowing remarks intertwined with snippets of humor helped to soften the moment. One of the comments from her brother is that you need to keep in touch with family and friends, tell them you love them and do not miss those very important moments. Those thoughts resonated with me. Sometimes in this microwaveable society, we do not make time to be intentional and spend uninterrupted time with family and friends. I committed today to be more intentional from this day forward. When my mom and sister passed, I was selected by our family to do the eulogy, which is one the hardest things you can possibly do in life. How can you capture one's life in 15-20 minutes? What topics are most salient to discuss? Inevitably, my mind drifted to gratitude. I am so grateful for my family who loves me unconditionally. I am grateful to all my friends and especially those friends who have been riding with me for 25+ years. Personally, I think I'd prefer to pay ($10 per adult, 4 and under are free) and have it be a little less crowded. The building is small, the hallways narrow, the elevator slow. I wasn't sure what to expect but I'd advise you to keep your expectations low. The museum is a bit dated, the building is old, and some of the exhibits felt antiquated. There is a certain charm to that. Plus, you can see everything in one short visit. They did make it ADA accessible -- there's a separate entrance for wheelchairs and strollers. There's a wheelchair ramp available for the inaccessible areas (like the paleontology exhibit). For strollers, I'd recommend just leaving it upstairs and holding your kid. The exhibits are small so you won't be there for long. Gift shop had a nice selection of cute gifts/souvenirs. Easy parking in the San Jacinto garage next door. Cost us $6 or something like that. While the woman's restroom had a diaper changing station, I don't think the men's did. I noticed a dad going in to change his son's diaper (he verbally noted it to the mom) and walked right back out. If they want to be accommodating to families, this might be an upgrade worth making. FYI: they're card only, no cash.

This is Laguna Gloria, and it features sculptures all outdoors. We ended up paying since we were already there. BUT Laguna Gloria is FREE on Thursdays. Other days is $10 pp and if you didn't pay in advance online, they can take payment at the gift shop. Though, I'm not sure how they enforce it because it looks like you can just pass by the gift shop and enter the park. As a former art student, I just wasn't that impressed or intrigued by the art. You have to walk a ways away to visit the next sculpture. They provide a map at the gift shop, but since I'm not good at geographic directions, I just allowed my husband to plan the walking route for us. We got to see all the sculptures (there aren't a lot...15?) In total, we were probably there for less than an hour. I didn't understand some sculptures. I saw a lonely, abandoned light pole covered with spiderwebs and joked to my husband, "look at this artwork!" It turns out, it was actually art because there's a sign next to it introducing the art piece and everything. Awkward. Anyway...appreciated walking around the grounds. My favorite is the crying Miffy fountain, which is one of the first things you see when you enter the grounds. Street parking only (unless you are an art student or staff there).
