Scott is the most unprofessional owner I've ever come across. I originally brought my guitar into…read morehim on a Saturday because I was getting fret buzz on my acoustic electric. He told me it just needs a neck adjustment and it would be $35 and it would be done on Tuesday. The guitar is only worth about $300 but Scott assured me it would be like new once his tech works on it. Someone else called me on Tuesday and told me that it's not just the neck - the frets need to be filed down and it would be done the following Tuesday because the tech is only in once a week. The price would be $80. I should have just bought a new guitar at that point but it was already there so I agreed to wait a week. I called every week for a month and they kept telling me it would be done the next week. Finally, after a full month of what should have been a 3 day job, they call me and tell me it's all set. I go in and tell Scott that I'm frustrated that I waited a month when he and his workers promised me a week. He was condescending and rude and told me that I should have known a job like this takes a long time. An employee brought my guitar down and started playing it and it still had fret buzz on the top two strings. The tech told me to bring it back next week and he'll do more work to it. It's been a week now and the buzz is back on all 6 strings worse than ever so I'm not bringing my guitar back there. Now I'm out $80, didn't have a guitar for a month, and my guitar is worthless so I have to buy a new one. I'm in spitting distance of Smash Music and I'll never go there again because of Scott's unprofessionalism, carelessness, and lies. I'll be sure to let all of my local musician friends not to support this guy.

He suggested I put in for a refund. I was not going to be the one to break the deal and I told him I was not interested in a refund, I wanted the instrument they sold me and was bought and paid for. A short time later, Paul tells me they looked all over and can't find it and sent me a refund anyway. They had the instrument when they took pictures of it and posted it on a Reverb two months prior! It was an oddball Electric Sitar/Guitar Did they think it might be rare or a prototype? Did someone offer them more money? Did they keep it for themselves? Did an employee steal it? I asked them to check with all of their employees and any surveillance footage, sales records, etc. If I had a music store and an instrument was missing, I would be raising heck! Especially something already sold, bought and paid for by a customer! I will never deal with this place again and I hope that no one does. Do so at your own risk!

The educators at North Main are not just well versed in music, but they're professionals. When we had lessons scheduled for 6:30, they started at 6:30...not 6:40 or even 6:50! The instructors knew how to make music FUN for our daughters- they practiced during the week and they couldn't wait until the next lesson. When we first signed up it was explained to us that if we missed a lesson for whatever reason that makeup lessons weren't promised, yet on the occasions that we did miss a lesson due to vacationing, sickness, whatever, they always managed to fit us in at another time. We tried two other places (that shall remain nameless) and the instructors were not in North Main's league. The owners didn't seem to care about anything but money. The kids were nowhere near as motivated or interested. Lesson learned: when I asked the kids if they wanted to go back to North Main Music one of them literally started jumping with joy. We had to wait a couple of weeks for spots to open up and everyone was delighted when we finally got the call. They even asked one of their students to switch time so that my kids could take lessons at the same time and the student was nice enough to agree.
