You get 5 tickets with admission and can buy more tickets. Each sampling is one ticket. Good sized portions so you don't leave hungry, but don't get too full. There are beer distributors too like Goose Island and others to sample different products. They had Korean spice pulled pork sandwiches, Wagyu brisket tacos, chicken and waffles, and mac and cheese TOO DIE FOR! A couple other snacks and drinks. My favorite was the Sirachi chicken wings with ranch dressing and Belgium waffles! The waffles were perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside, but properly cooked on the inside. Tender, and no raw dough! Drizzled with maple syrup. The waffles themselves stood on their own with good flavor, but the sweet/hot connection was excellent! Music more appropriate for cocktail hour played while the food booths were open and people socialized. But at 8:30, the lights turned down and a full show of musicians entertained until closing. Parker Wheeler, known from his Sunday night residency at the Grog in Newburyport hosted A-list musicians. Toni Lynn Washington headlined with features of Ricky King Russell, Johnny Blue Horn, and New Orleans' own, Amadee Castenell. A must see and be seen at event for next year!

For 5 bucks, I received a huge ego boost and a greater understanding of why Boston loves to dance! A word to dates: if you come here with a special someone, expect that you and your partner will dance with other people. Don't worry: it's nothing personal! After the lesson, the studio turned into an open dance featuring live music from Chelsea Reed and the Fairweather Five, an amazing swing band from Philadelphia! The floor was jumping and everyone was having a blast cutting a rug. I personally asked to dance with several people and was surprised to find how gracious and encouraging they were in accepting and subsequently dancing with my square self. The dancers here are very courteous and interested in the improvement of everyone in the club. The snacks and water were provided in copious amounts. The community is strong in this one. I'll be back, Blues Union, and I'll be bringing more people who are interested!

I sat stage right, at table 311 and had a clear view even though it's labels as partial obstructed. The two columns on that side of the room are thin and aren't anything to worry about. I walked the whole venue and the only area where views are truly obstructed are inside the bar area, especially at the ends of the bar. The sound was great. The crowd was engaged but respectful. The food, drinks and service were all top notch as well. If someone you like is playing here, then you're in luck.

The BT ALC Big Band lit up the room with an incredible blend of big band jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop, and the special guest, Nephrok!, brought amazing energy and personality to the stage. Jimmy's offered two great options for the night: a first-floor dinner-and-a-show package, and a third-floor countdown experience with a midnight champagne toast. The atmosphere was festive without feeling crowded, the sound was crystal clear, and the whole evening felt really well organized. Nephrok and the BT ALC Big Band were both outstanding -- tight, lively, and a blast to watch. Altogether, it was one of those nights you don't forget. Jimmy's continues to be one of the best live music venues around.

I went to the Press Room last night to watch my boyfriend's band play. Cadenza itself is a comfortable performance space with tables scattered around what may be a dance floor (?) with a well-lit and audio-connected stage for the performers. You can order drinks and small snacks, like chips, at the bar, and you can also order pizza from a local spot that will deliver to Cadenza, but the night we were there, they were backed up, and they were not able to deliver food for an hour and a half! Myrtle, which I think is one of the coolest bars I've ever seen (it has its own in-house boutique!) was packed this morning. They served a $15 brunch which looked great but, since I had just eaten breakfast, I chose to forego and enjoyed a delicious Irish coffee ($12) instead. This might be my go-to bar from now on. Scott is the most unprofessional owner I've ever come across. I originally brought my guitar into…read morehim on a Saturday because I was getting fret buzz on my acoustic electric. He told me it just needs a neck adjustment and it would be $35 and it would be done on Tuesday. The guitar is only worth about $300 but Scott assured me it would be like new once his tech works on it. Someone else called me on Tuesday and told me that it's not just the neck - the frets need to be filed down and it would be done the following Tuesday because the tech is only in once a week. The price would be $80. I should have just bought a new guitar at that point but it was already there so I agreed to wait a week. I called every week for a month and they kept telling me it would be done the next week. Finally, after a full month of what should have been a 3 day job, they call me and tell me it's all set. I go in and tell Scott that I'm frustrated that I waited a month when he and his workers promised me a week. He was condescending and rude and told me that I should have known a job like this takes a long time. An employee brought my guitar down and started playing it and it still had fret buzz on the top two strings. The tech told me to bring it back next week and he'll do more work to it. It's been a week now and the buzz is back on all 6 strings worse than ever so I'm not bringing my guitar back there. Now I'm out $80, didn't have a guitar for a month, and my guitar is worthless so I have to buy a new one. I'm in spitting distance of Smash Music and I'll never go there again because of Scott's unprofessionalism, carelessness, and lies. I'll be sure to let all of my local musician friends not to support this guy.
