They starting ACTUALLY cleaning the salt water tanks! YAY!!
Angelica C.

Today I saw them cleaning the tanks they all looked much much much better. Thank you to whoever took my review into consideration.

I had gotten a hamster Saturday unfortunately she started bleeding on Wednesday and that's life threatening for them when I called to see if I can take her myself they said they wouldn't be able to reimburse me. And that you guys were short staff she probably wouldn't have made it if you guys didn't take her later or the next day. Well thanks to you guys going to the vet twice and unfortunately having to put her down because you guys couldn't help with the bill. You have sick hamsters you need to better clean those tanks now and double check those babies I'm no longer getting hamsters from you guys sadly.

Gross fish tanks

First of all, it smells terrible in there! Boxes everywhere the aisles are cluttered. I posted photos of the fish tanks. What in the world is going on??

Had the worst experience, took my dog in for an express service. So it should t be no longer then 1-2hours. My dog suffers from anxiety issues and can't be in a kennel. So I took my dog in it was a different stylist then the one I had last time. Appointment was at 5, got a call at 7pm just my dog was not able to get a haircut because she injured herself. They had not bathed her, left her in the kennel. And picked up my dog, took her home to find all these injuries. And took her to the vet.

Just picked up Duke and Nico from Petco. They love that place! Got the full bath and nail trim for both of them. They love it there. The ladies are kind and professional. They treat each client as if they are their own. Please tip them heavily, they deserve it!

Came here for vetco which is available on Saturday to get vaccinations and other needs meds for an affordable price. The place is clean but staffs are usually not available so expect waiting if you need some help.

Our new bearded dragon
Rayne K.

After a very bad experience at another pet store, we decided to give this Petco a try. We were looking for a bearded dragon as the last one we got at PetSmart ended up being ill before we even brought him home, sadly. The animals kept at this Petco location all appeared to be healthy and extremely active. The lady that assisted us with getting our bearded dragon, was very patient and helpful with all of our questions. She took her time explaining everything that they had to offer as far as products and the differences between items. She also took her time to show us the other animals that they had -- the turtles, tortoises, and other lizards and the unique personalities they all possess. We're so happy with the new edition to the family -- our new bearded dragon. I highly recommend this location if you're looking for great service with a staff that genuinely cares about and loves the animals. They also offer a ton of pet supplies at a reasonable price. This will be my new go-to pet store location.

I'm so done with Petco. Nathiena is the WORST dog groomer. First of all, I had an appointment with her 2 weeks ago and she NEVER SHOWED UP. Big red flag there but she did text me later that day to apologize and let me know my next grooming would be free. So I made an appointment a few days later. My dog has anxiety and I usually give him CBD oil to calm him down. When I arrived for my appointment, they said they couldn't take him if he's on CBD oil because he has to be in his natural state. So AGAIN, I made an appointment a few days later, dropped off my dog and almost 3 hours later, Nathiena calls and said she can't finish the job because Peanut has mats in his paws and he was uncomfortable and in pain. So I picked him up and she shaved his body but didn't trim his face. He didn't look groomed AT ALL!!! She probably did a half assed job because this grooming session was free and he was her last client of the day. She should be more concerned about taking care of a client rather than trying to leave work on time. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Petco is the worst when it comes to pet grooming. This photo was taken after I picked him up. DOES THIS LOOK LIKE A DOG THAT HAS BEEN GROOMED?!? Oh and check out Kimberly's review below mine. Nathiena again got a 1 star rating. I can't believe that woman still works there. They need to fire her ass!!!

Zero stars. When I approached the counter to pay the old man at the register did not even greet me. My two year old said hi enthusiastically to him and he completely IGNORED him. When he was finished ringing me up and gave me the receipt I said "thank you" and instead of getting a "you're welcome back" he said "yeah..." He looked super tired and annoyed to be there. Will definitely not come back and rather drive up to Petsmart.

After speaking with the wonderful adopter, I felt Jared could help me. I am a very experienced dog owner, all rescues. I was confident and had dogs pass Obedience and Canine Good Citizen tests. Then, my neighbor's dog viciously attacked me. That was never something I thought would happen. I ended up in the ER and then in therapy for PST. It did not stop me from adopting more dogs over the years, but I was not sure of myself. The experience rocked my world. I doubted myself and my ability to keep any dog in my care safe. I had another incident at a dog park years after the initial attack. A dog at the dog park attacked one of my dogs that same dog bit me in the process of breaking up the attack That hit me hard and did not help. The various dogs I adopted over the years, no doubt were noticing my insecurity. I was somebody that before the incident always knew what to do and how to diffuse a situation. Fast forward to late summer. After reading Jared's bio and speaking to the adopter, I knew he could help and I set up our initial meeting at my house. My dog in the backyard while Jared and I talked. During our first meeting, we spent 2 hours talking about my background. I told him I was a firm believer in the premise that a dog is only as good as its owner makes it. Jared fully understood that I would be on board with getting to the root of issues. He finally met Millie; the first female rescue She is a Pit Beagle mix. I got her when she was 2 years old and had never lived in a house. Her previous owner abandoned her in an SF park, 6 weeks after she had delivered puppies. Luckily, a rescue organization took her. I knew she was intelligent, alert, and needed to learn to trust people. She also needed to learn how to go through doorways. Fast forward and she is a loving dog, but highly reactive to other dogs. Walks for us meant making sure I had long sight lines and room for us to get out of the way. She listened to me, but again. I knew my interactions with her were lacking. Jared has been patient and has been collaborating with me. My former confidence is starting to come back. We have worked on Millie's impulse control, such as meeting people. She is OVERLY friendly to humans, which I know is a problem. Through our work, she has learned to be calmer and not to approach until given permission. One of the early adjustments we made to start using a Gentle Leader. I was hesitant because one never knows what a rescue has exposed to in their life. I carefully introduced it and have been using it since. I like the added security of using a connector, Jared's suggestion, to her harness or collar. This is long, so I will cut to the chase. A dog means a commitment to being the best custodian you can be for that dog and give the dog a safe life. Jared stresses repetition starting with small steps. Build a solid base to start. This is a process of learning, restoring my faith in myself, and working on things in the right order.

She also crate trained him in a way that felt calm, structured, and positive, and the results have absolutely stuck. Appreciate honest dog trainers!…read more I reached out to Michael via yelp as my 5.5 year old dog, Dash, has had intemittent issues of separation anxiety since he was about 1.5 years old. I shared my concerns with Michael via the Yelp Projects chat and he was so kind in sharing a PDF that he wrote with me explaining different techniques to try for handling separation anxiety. I ended up going for a bark collar (vibration only). I honestly haven't even used it consistently - but it seems to have left a positive effect on my dog as he does not bark nearly as much when left home alone with his fellow sister dog sibling. If I were still experiencing difficulty, Michael was more than happy to schedule a call with me to discuss next steps for my dog, Dash. Goji went through Puppy 1, 2, and 3 (outdoor advanced), and at 7 months old, he is truly a PERFECT pup (only mildly biased). Every day at the park, other dog owners ask me where he was trained because of his strong off-leash recall and obedience with insane distractions. I'm confident he would not be this well behaved had he not gone through Mike's classes. I specifically chose Mike for his balanced training approach (lots of praise + treats, but also clear communication on corrections). He also spends time each class answering questions, which was so helpful when my puppy went through a phase of mild crate regression. Lastly, Mike is just a really great guy who cares deeply about dogs. My puppy is wary of most men (smart!) but he loves Mike, so that is truly the highest praise. I plan send my puppy to all other classes that Mike has to offer, like service dog training, and his tricks & agility classes!

At around three or four months old, he began exhibiting both separation anxiety and serious reactivity. We knew he was a sweet dog, but his behavior made it impossible to convince others of his sweet nature. After the first trainer, proved an epic failure We began to think that we would have to return him to the shelter. He was utterly unmanageable and getting bigger each passing day We knew returning him would most likely result in him being put to sleep. His reactivity would've barred him from adoption. We absolutely could not allow that to happen. My wife happened upon Freakin Pawsome's website and the outstanding things people had to say about Will. We reached out to Will and he agreed to meet with Mischief At Will's first meeting with Mischief Mischief did his very best Cujo impersonation. I was sincerely worried Will would refuse to train him. I was surprised when Will agreed to take on our challenged Shepherd puppy and very grateful. Once Will introduced himself to Mischief Mischief took to Will immediately in less than 10 minutes. Mischief was taking basic commands from Will and I knew that we had found the right trainer. Over the next four months, I witnessed a total metamorphosis in Mischief. Will very patiently inconsistently guided Mischief to being a truly happy dog! As Will thoughtfully, patiently guided Mischief to being a good dog, He taught an even more important lesson to myself and my wife on how to be good dog parents. Will has given us the tools to continue to expand Mischief's development and Will's expertise has paid off on so many levels. I have decades of experience fostering dogs and personally adopting many of my own, and over the years I've worked with a wide range of trainers. Without question, Steve is in a league entirely of his own. His talent, intuition, and depth of understanding when it comes to dogs is extraordinary. He doesn't just train dogs; he teaches humans how to truly understand them. What made the experience even more unforgettable was the joy he brought into the day. We laughed constantly. At one point my cheeks genuinely hurt from hours of smiling and laughter. And yet, amid all of that warmth and humor, we walked away with an incredibly clear, grounded, and practical understanding of his methods and a deep sense of confidence in our ability to apply them. Steve's approach is refreshingly doable: just five minutes of training per day, paired with his ongoing availability as a resource. That combination alone feels invaluable. We literally just completed our training day today, so I plan to update this review in a few months with more detail about long-term ease of execution and results with our dog, Griffin. But one thing I feel compelled to share now is this: throughout the entire day, even while Griffin was dramatically protesting (vocally, and with flair), Steve remained calm, steady, and completely unfazed. Griffin didn't love everything he was being asked to do, but he clearly adored Steve. He never cowered, never shut down, never showed fear. That level of trust speaks volumes. At one point, I asked Steve about scheduling an additional training day for one of our other dogs. His response was thoughtful, sensible, and deeply ethical: he told me it wouldn't be necessary. He explained that the principles I was learning with Griffin would absolutely apply to our other dogs as well, and that he'd be more than happy to answer questions along the way. That moment really matters to me because it so clearly reflects that Steve is driven by genuine passion and care for people and dogs, not by squeezing every possible dollar out of his clients. I also want to wholeheartedly acknowledge Tasha, who was incredibly kind, responsive, and compassionate throughout the scheduling process. We had to cancel our original training day due to a traumatic injury our other dog, Enzo, sustained: a spinal stroke. Tasha immediately offered to refund our deposit without hesitation. When I shared that I still very much wanted to work with Steve, she later went out of her way to find us an earlier date than originally offered after I asked to be notified of any cancellations. That level of care and humanity meant so much during a really difficult time. I am profoundly grateful for Steve and his entire team. This was one of the most positive, affirming, and empowering experiences I've ever had as a dog guardian. If you're looking for the best, congratulations. You have found it with One Day Dog Training!
