I can't say enough about how great Larry's training is! The best part is my dog Ella and are having fun and bonding. She has come a long way in a month and a half.

Came here based on a recommendation from a fellow GSD owner and friend. It's been a while since my puppy has been in a obedience training course and of course he is starting to get big and needs more training because he isn't listening as well. Glad my friend recommended this place because Larry really knows what he is doing (He has a credible background of training big dogs). Obedience Training happens on Thursday nights, and Saturday and Sunday mornings. Usually obstacle courses are involved and sport training happens right after obedience training (your dog needs to undergo evaluation before he/she begins sport training). I've only been here twice and I will tell you this... my dog listens so much better to me now! Seriously. It's amazing. He sits when told, down when told, still working on stay, but he's getting better. More practice and he might be ready to stay put for a whole 30 minutes!! (: Classes range from an hour to two. It varies in time. Larry is knowledgable and he knows so much about dogs! Seriously I think he is a true dog whisperer. He knew exactly how to correct my GSD and start him off right for training. I highly recommend this place if you have large breed dogs (shepherd family: German, Dutch, Czech, etc). If you don't feel comfortable using a dominant collar or pinch collar though, you may have to look elsewhere because we use those in his obedience training classes. It's 100 dollars a month and on average there is about 12 classes a month! Can't beat that price!

Long over due! Larry was recommended to me by a good friend of mine. I rescued a puppy from a dog meat farm in March 2015. In the beginning my pup was pretty timid and shy. However, he begun to show fear aggression, dominance and degrees of separation anxiety. After all, he was caged with a bunch of other puppies and had to fight for food in his first 4 months of life. Fast forward...I actually started to become afraid of my pup and was at a loss at the behaviors he was showing such as resource guarding and being nippy and darting at others. We started attending Larry's puppy class and even hired him for 1:1 training at my house. We only discontinued the 1:1 because of scheduling conflicts. Overall, Larry didn't only train our pup, but he also trained us on how to be stern and consistent. We started seeing tremendous progress just after a few classes! My pup especially loves the Saturday obstacle class that Larry puts together. Most of the classes tend to focus on obedience and socialization. But he will also switch things up and do a walk every now and then. Above all, his classes are very affordable. For $150 per month, you can choose 4 classes to attend weekly. He will hold classes in SF depending on weather. Larry is very personable, flexible and is super responsive to texts and phone calls. He genuinely cares and is compassionate at what he does. I can't thank Larry enough for his advice and tips for when we run into problems. Thank you Larry!

I highly recommend K9 Comrades to anyone and everyone with a dog. Make the time and effort to learn Larry's techniques. The best experience for myself and my son was to learn from Larry exactly what to do and why it is all so effective. We went for 5 consecutive months 4 days a week. I think we missed one class only. We still on a daily basis practice all the training techniques with him. Our dog Max has been absolutely amazing since we did the training with Larry. It takes a lot of time and effort but was the best investment. Spend the time and the money. Listen to Larry. Don't expect results instantly. Learn how to engage your dog and what to do in different circumstances. Be a happier dog owner. It feels great to have other people compliment your dogs good behavior. He is the DogFather!!

There was so much anxiety for both of us. I'm a complete new dog owner with little to no experience. And right from the beginning Jared was patient, professional, and really took the time to learn and explain my dog's behavior and our specific concerns. I had some concerns about leash training and how my dog responded to visitors at the door. Jared guided us with step by step approaches that were easy to follow. And almost immediately after our first visit, I started noticing behavioral changes with my dog. I even noticed the changes on our walks. The tips and techniques regarding leash training was so helpful. Things that I never even thought would affect my dog's behavior, Jared brought to light. He made the whole process feel manageable and truly gave me tools to build my confidence and my relationship with my pup. It's clear Jared truly cares about the dogs he works with and their families. He's passionate about what he does, and I'm so grateful for his help and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an effective and compassionate dog trainer.

She was quiet and a bit confused in those early days, and we honestly didn't know what "normal" even looked like. We started working with Jared literally the day after we brought her home, and that made all the difference. What stood out right away is that he doesn't just train the dog, he helps you understand your dog's psychology. That shift was huge for us. Instead of guessing or reacting, we started to feel like we actually knew what she needed and how to respond. He guided us through the basics like potty training and getting her to sleep through the night, and once those clicked, life got dramatically easier. More importantly, he gave us a framework we can keep using as new challenges come up. Our puppy still has some separation anxiety and can be a bit needy, but now it feels manageable. We're making steady, incremental progress and feel confident we have the tools to keep going. Jared has also been great with our whole family. He builds trust quickly, explains things clearly, and makes everyone feel comfortable and capable. You never feel judged or overwhelmed. If you're a first-time dog owner, especially with a young puppy, I'd strongly recommend working with him early. It sets the right foundation and saves you a lot of stress down the line.

We are so glad he's happy when he's there. I wish there was another star so I could give Dan Perata Training six stars! They're simply THE BEST! We went through two other trainers before we found Dan and his team, and without disparaging the other trainers (they were somewhat effective) I will say the Perata difference was night and day. Within a couple of weeks our five-month old puppy was walking on a leash, reacting less to other dogs in public, and gentle with kids. After a couple more weeks, he was performing recall, heeling with the kids, and almost totally ignoring other dogs. We are so proud to take him in public and people can hardly believe he's only six months old. Our goal is for him to work as a service dog and Dan has helped us get him to public places and the hospital so he'll be ready. I seriously can't say enough good things! The facility is spacious and clean and set up well for different training scenarios. The staff are all friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Training methods are positive reinforcement and consistency without using food as "bribes". We enjoy being part of the training as the whole family learns right along with our dog. Unfortunately, the two did not get along, and we found ourselves overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. After vetting several trainers, we chose Dan Perata because of his thoughtful, structured approach--focused on discipline and communication through commands rather than treats or punitive methods. His philosophy resonated with us: training isn't just about the dog, it's about the owners putting in the work too. This isn't a "drop off your dog and pick them up all trained" program. It's a serious commitment. We spent many weeks working closely with Dan and his incredible team, and while we eventually "graduated," that was just the beginning. We continue to train with our dogs at home and periodically attend refresher group walks to reinforce what we've learned. Additionally, we also use Dan's boarding services when we travel, knowing our dogs are in good hands and staying consistent with their training. We wholeheartedly recommend Dan Perata Training to anyone serious about building a strong, respectful relationship with their dog. But be prepared: this program requires your time, effort, and willingness to grow alongside your dog. If you're not ready for that level of commitment, you may want to rethink dog ownership altogether.

In a short amount of time, Irini helped us get him reliably potty trained and confidently solid on the basics like sit, stay, and overall command responsiveness. She also crate trained him in a way that felt calm, structured, and positive, and the results have absolutely stuck. What makes Irini so special is not only how skilled she is with dogs, but how clearly she teaches the owners too. She gave us practical tools, personalized guidance, and a plan that actually fit our puppy and our daily routine, which made everything feel doable and sustainable. She went so far above and beyond by taking him over the holidays and New Year's, and she treated him like her own.
