Attention: This message is directed towards Alyssa and Beth. I been bringing my dog to petco for 2 years, my dog has been being groomed by Aylissa. I have had several encounters with bad grooming. First off my dog is a shih tzu. I have placed in my dogs notes to not ever cut his tail, eyelashes, or ears. I have had them all cut on an "Accident" by Alyssa. This last time with her butchering my dogs tail without my permission is what has made me so upset when she has been explicitly told not to do so. It really bothers me that she doesn't accept responsibility for her negligence, not only did she cut the tail, but it is uneven. The other problem I have with Petco is they have a Manager by the name of Beth, she is rude to the highest level. She has no compassion for animals and or is she equipped to serve the public.. She is competitive and argumentative to paying customers, and over aggressive. She refused to give me any paperwork in regards to the incident with my dogs tail being cut. I even asked her for the paper that I entially signed, she refused to give me anything, in fact she treated me to call security on me, which I counter acted that with calling the Redlands Police.. The officer came out did a report and he was also unable to retrieve any paper work from Beth. The officer was able to give me a case number.. Overall I was harrased and embarrassed by Petco and it's employees. Petco never offered any compensation for this mishap. In fact when I arrived the asked me to pay 65.00 for his cut, which I refused to pay. I will definitely never take my dog there again read more

This Petco has an excellent selection of food for various animals; from cheapo Pedigree to Blue Buffalo. The staff is fairly knowledgable and very willing to help. They also have a personalized dog tag maker, which we have used to make tags for both of our pups. read more

It was my first time here at Petco afyer being a loyal customer to Persmart for 5-6 years. The "front desk lady" could have been more friendlier. When I had made my appointment online I knew that for the weight of my dog (9Lbs) he would qualify for the $22 price, however once I arrived there the "front desk lady" changes it to $27. When I questioned it she said that was the price and no other price below it, she actually showed me the screen (as if I would be familiar with the software and would know what exactly it was I was looking at). I went online after a few minutes and verified my $22 price was indeed correct. I went back to the store and showed them the online price. The "front desk lady" goes back to the groomer Alyson I believe was her name and I guess explained to her what happened. Alyson( the groomer) comes out with my dog and puts them on the scale to prove that he was under 10 lbs. She still had the audacity to say that when they're on the mark (9 point something) my dog was right below 10 lbs they usually just "up it" but that she would honor the $22 price for "right now"as if it was a favor she was doing me and my dog. I found that beyond humiliating an disrespectful the fact that she would go out of her way to weigh my dog in front of other customers pretty much questioning my integrity and calling me a liar. I knew how much my dog weigh as he was in the vet in July for his updated shots and which I had to provide as well to the groomer as it was my first time there. Alyson did make it up after when I came to pick him up amd told she "buffed" his nails for the incovenience. For it being my first time it was not the best experience, most likely I will not be heading back to this salon or Petco for all that matters & take my business elsewhere I feel more valued and respected. read more

I had made an appointment for my rottweiler to get groom & they called me saying if I can come in earlier, I had no problem with it but she very rude, as soon I took him in she was not welcoming at all, had an attitude the whole time & kept asking me how old is my pup which I had told her (Alyssa) several time he's 11 months. It seem like she didn't want to groom my dog, I was very disappointed I was going to reschedule & ask for another groomer but my dog needed to get groom. She treated us like we never been there which we have my dog has been there since he was just a lil puppy always got groomed by Kaitlyn, super nice girl. the best groomer there.... as soon as my dog was ready she called me saying your dod is ready once again with an attitude. I show up to get him & he's all wet which I asked why she told me that he was drinking water, but as soon as we got in the car I gave him a bowl a water & he finished super fast, obviously she didn't give him water, he was just wet. So overall I'll make sure that I don't ever have Alyssa groom my dog ever again. I'll wait till Kaitlyn is available, lesson learned.. read more

I come here alot and to be honest service is declining. Their employees are very unprofessional and rude. You will stand at the fish tank section for a long time and they will ignore you acting busy. This is actually every pet department nobody is friendly or whats help. Overheard the young lady telling customer she is a slave to government and also was refusing to sell fish to multiple customers. I believe his name is josh in fish, but very rude. Ignores you and answerings snappy and short. He was ringing me out today and acted annoyed and exhaled. Wouldnt have him working for me. Owner/manager always on phone outside never working. Just made a call just to check in and see what was the process to get my pet groomed and the lady who answered was VERY passive aggressive when telling me it's by appointment only and that they need a copy of her shots. I understand completely these questions are important so I in a friendly way just let her know that I did have the copy of her shots, but when asking what dog I had I let her know it was for cat. I understand working customer service is a pain now a days but if I'm approaching you through call in a proper and friendly manner don't follow up with a nasty attitude she then said " we don't do cats at this location. " in the rudest and nastiest tone. If you don't do cats remove them from the grooming option online or find a better employee to answer the phone for help I'm not sure what her name is but when I shop at this location everyone has always been very nice! That call was such a disappointment on this locations part and hope she has the day she deserves for such attitude. read more

We've been there two times now and both times have been awesome! My Saint Bernard had her nails cut by somebody local to us (we live almost three hours away from this Petco) but every time she cut into the quick of the nail which was traumatizing for my dog! Now we have her nails done at Petco where they are more patient and grind the nails down which has been a much better experience for my dog. My dog is so comfortable now that we also get her nails painted which makes it even that much better! We couldn't be happier now that we found them, THANK YOU PETCO! read more

I received a coupon for a free litter before driving to the store being it's quite a ways from me I called to make sure they had the product and was still accepting the coupon and the manager told me yes so I drove out there showed the cashier my coupon and they refused to take it saying corporate says to stop taking the coupon as of 8/30 when it's still valid till 8/31 .. The cashier didn't even try to scan it or anything ! When I called corporate they had no clue of what was going on called the store I went to then proceeded to tell me the coupon was invalid which is a lie cause the cashier recognized it right away ! Don't go here. They reject dogs. My poor dog was very matted. They said they are not allowed to shave that close. Why have a grooming station if they can't even help you. Don't bother going here. We have been taking our new puppy here for training for a few months. The dog training classes are awesome and Angel does a great job. Our dog is nervous and timid. Angel has been working with him weekly to overcome his issues as well as teaching him various commands. So far we have seen good improvements and would recommend the training classes. read more

The employees there seem like they don't understand customer service and I always feel like I'm bothering them when I have a question to ask. As far as pet stores go yeah it's clean (at least from when I' ve been in there) and well lit. The prices are a bit much but I cannot say that I know the whole pet store community well enough to say higher or lower so . I haven't met the manager but I know one thing about them is that they don't treat applicants fair, and should be more professional when it comes to handling potential new ones. read more

Where to start. Horrible. Specially pet grooming. Over 4 hours to get my pet groomed. He's a small dog. And they did not even cut him correctly. He was so uneasy when we picked him up. I never have had this issue before. It was so frustrating. I was told 2-3 hours. After the 2.3 hour mark, I tried calling and no one picked up. I kept calling and the same thing over and over. I finally got a hold of some one after 4 hour. I was then told it would stills be another 30 minutes. Never again. read more

We drove 45 minutes from Lake Arrowhead to the Petco in Redlands today to give our double coated English Lab a bath. It is cold up here and it will take all day for him to dry. Right away after we paid and I saw the provided "basket" and I thought hmmmm. Three thin rough towels and a hard wire brush. We purchased a rubber scrub brush for $10 so we could actually clean him. The hot water took a long time to warm up but the best part.... the "dryers" were not warm and there was not any power to actually dry him. The towels were sopping wet. We left with a wet 10 year old dog and missed the whole point of bringing him to a place to bathe and dry him. I did bring my own brushes and brushed him in the parking lot. I was so annoyed I went back in and requested more towels. The last thing I wanted was a stinky wet dog in my car and to drive back up to the mountains where it is cold. We hung out in Redlands, ate lunch, walked around in the sun before coming home. For a corporate entity like this to charge $15.00 and provide crappy towels (bring your own I guess) a stupid hard wire brush and no way to dry your wet dog.... in the future I will check out Scrubby Puppy which is a drive or go all the way back to Temecula where I know the place I used to go to. Towels, scrubbers, ear cleaner and dryers that actually work. Really disappointing and I will not return. I do wash him at home in the summer outside but it is just too cold and he stays wet too long up here in the mountains! read more

My boyfriend and I took our kids in last night 2/28/17 8:40ish pm almost 8:50pm not knowing its going to be closed at 9pm no one told us anything so we didn't bother looking at the hrs we're looking around and wanted a turtle but changed our minds and wanted a bird as one of the two girls that helped us was rude and had an attitude also rolling her eyes you can tell it was just a bad vibe and she's wanting to leave and was kind of rushing us. She then helped us with a bird cage but left it in the cart and another rude girl took over she also had an attitude as my boyfriend asked if the bird we're getting a female or male she snapped at us and stated "we don't know the gender of animals! You have to go get a DNA testing somewhere else!" if she would of just said it nicely it wouldn't be no problem its how she said it as we're looking for bird food my 10yr old daughter notice that she rolled her eyes at all of us as she was in rush. We finally got to the cashier a kind gentleman helped us as the other girl was standing there I then apologize as we didn't know they close at 9pm she then rolled her eyes again. I'm sorry but you shouldn't have an attitude the whole time your helping a family with two young kids that our super hyped up on getting a pet. By this time I didn't even want to buy anything but my boyfriend still wanted to purchase it for our kids since they were already excited. I then call to the store this morning 3/1/17 asked to be transferred to the manager which I got transferred to Amanda Cones I asked if shes the manager she stated that she's the highest manager there I told her what had happened and if she knows the two girls name she said she didn't she would have to check as I asked for corporates number she then gave it to me and I asked her again so you can't tell me the names of the girls she then stated that she was one of the girls that the job gets hectic as I stated you still shouldn't treat people that way like their not wanted maybe this isn't a job for you if you can't Handel costumers I told her I was going to call corporate she then stated she would have someone talk to her regarding this and the other girl which her name was Brittany. She then stated that there's two side to a story and hung up on my face. I contact corporate and she's not even the highest manager. Brought my dog here for a self wash after being at the dog beach and was surprised to be charged $15.... they first opened at $10 per wash which seemed reasonable but will definitely not be back if it stays at $15. And if they charge $15 I expect things to be in order.... they didn't have enough brushes so I didn't get to brush my pup and then the hoses for the water were about to break so I had to hold it precisely so that the water wouldn't be cut off by a bend in the hose. Would love a manager to respond to this review because I was extremely disappointed and would love to see a change in this. read more

If you plan on coming for the self service wash please consider the breed of dog you have and your needs. I like taking my dogs to these types of self service because you don't need to bend or clean up a mess in my tub. I decided to try the Petco self serve wash because my current place "Scrubby Puppy" in Upland is a little farther than this location. I will not be returning to Petco for the wash. You first pay and then you receive a basket with an apron, two rough small towels, and a wire brush (no other options). You pay the $12 dollars and then you go to any open tub. They don't sanitize after every wash, and the first tub I went to wouldn't switch from water to the shampoo. So I had to move my wet dog to another available tub. The worst part was there blow dyers! if you have a double coated, long hair or even a dog with any more hair than a pit bull don't bring them here you will never have a dry dog! My personal hair dryer has more power than these. I will stick to going to the "Scrubby Puppy" for my self dog wash needs :) read more

Today I went here to pickup some kitten food and grass, yes first it did take about 15 minutes to find someone to help find what I was looking for but when I did Robert was very knowledgeable about the kitten food and questions I had asked him he had great customer service and very patient with me. I have been taking my dogs here for a few months. My dogs look fine but tired of difficulty getting in. Try to make online appt and website says having difficulty and must call store. Call grooming department but no one answers. Leave a message but no one calls back. I call again and am told voicemail isn't working. Really? No technology for web appt or working voicemail. The lady who does check out (she wears glasses and is at the stand on the far left) is particularly annoying. Today we went shopping for costumes, which should have been a fun time- the experience was tainted by her social ineptitude and annoying demeanor. We were waiting "in line"- nobody was ahead of us and insisted we go all the way over to the end in order to check out. She was very slow at checking us out and had to comment on everything we purchased. She also felt the need to walk us step by step through the debit card process- as though it was the first time we had ever done this. Some people take their jobs a little too seriously and this lady was one of them. Avoid this check out stand if you can help it. read more

Every single time that I've gone to this petco its always been the same, poor service, they take a longggggg time to help you, and keep in mind this is on days that there's no people. Now when it gets busy it gets worse, very under staff, seems like they only put one person per station so when the dog section gets full the people from the fish section go help out so they leave their area un-attend, and there i was chasin for somebody to help me out. TERRIBLE DOG GROOMING EXPERIENCE!!!! My husband & I took our two 6 month old Pomeranians in for their first grooming and they came out looking a complete mess. I was VERY specific with the manager of the salon about how i wanted them cut: I told her do NOT cut the fur on their tails and i wanted them both to have a "teddy bear" with the rounded-faces. She told us no problem and to pick them up in 4-6 hours. When we picked them up, as per their procedure, we paid for the services firsdt, so we did not get to see what we were paying for first. When the groomer who did our dogs (the assistsant manager) brought out our female, we literally dd not recognize her -- i thought she brought us the wrong dog. Our little female was completely shaved down: no cute rounded-face teddy bear cut, but her tail was cut against our repeated specific instructions. She looks like a short hair chihuahua. Next they brought out our male and no cut at all EXCEPT for his tail. The groomer claimed that he was afraid of the clippers, but she only removed $7.00 of my grooming fee. Heads up: Petco will not allow you to get cash back with your debit card when paying for grooming fees for tip money for the groomers, which i did not know upfront like Petsmart will. Of course, tip money was a mute point with this experience. Although we will go back to Petco for retail purchases, we will NEVER use nor recommend the Redland's Petco location grooming services again. read more
