When he keeps his appointments, all is well. He is a knowledgeable trainer and did great with my dog. Sessions were supposed to be 45 minutes. Sometimes they were less. However, I had one complete no show. And 2 times he was over 30 minutes late, 2 sessions with other owners/pets (one did not go well) and two relocation/reschedules. And finally, 2 kept appointments. Very disappointed in his time management skills. He did refund me for the gas and no show since I was driving over an hour to see him each session. Taylor has been a very diligent trainer for my 4 month old Doberman mix. I adopted this puppy from a rescue and wasted no time searching for an obedience trainer. Maverick turned a year old and we struggled with aggression towards other dogs as well as people. I was unable to take him on walks due to his aggression issues. He was confined to being home. I would not recommend this trainer at all. Very unprofessional. Taylor cancelled our appts 2x in a row. The first time he communicated on the day of, just before our appointment. The second time he completely forgot and we waited 30 after our scheduled appointment before contacting him. Great experience, you can tell that he really cares about his job, the dogs, and is a very nice person that tries to build a friendly connection with the dog owners aswell it's very genuine. I had just gotten a puppy and didnt want her to learn his bad behavior of previous aggression toward other dogs. So I set up an evaluation appointment and he pointed out some issues I had not noticed like some aggression towards people. He came prepared with a protective sleeve and started working on him. His scheduling hours worked really well for us it was easy to find a time and day that worked for us. We followed his instructions at home and he progressed each week really well. We took him to a event with lots of people around he wasn't anxious and didn't show any signs of aggression towards other people or other dogs that were off leash. The other day as I was walking my dogs there was a energetic pit bull off leash that my dog noticed first, he didn't bark, growl, lunge, didn't show his teeth. The third time he applied this technique he had on an arm guard and let her make contact! She has since bitten three adult male family members including my husband! When he finally called my husband back, it was because he thought we were new clients interested in training. At this time, he agreed to refund us the hundreds of dollars for work not performed - but only in cash. Horrible experience!!! He ( Taylor) yanked our dog's neck so hard I started to cry. Our dog was very anxious and the trainer kept " pinching his neck with a training collar. The dog's lips and tongue started bleeding and blood was on his face and the trainer said" a little blood doesn't hurt him". The next day I found redness and scarring on my dog's neck from the training collar ( he had reassured us over and over again that the training collar won't hurt him!!!!!) He explained " just like spanking helps kids understand and learn so do dogs"! He uses pain to teach dogs!!!( basically the training collar has prongs; he pulls on it every time the dog doesn't cooperate. It sinks in in the dog's throat). It literally looks like abuse to be honest. It was extremely traumatic experience for us; I'll never have him back here again. We were totally caught off guard and shocked how he was treating the poor dog. He said " I didn't get the good reviews for nothing "!!!! I would recommend everyone to ask for details of his training. We had made an in-house appointment for our Golden Retreiver because he needed muzzle training to go the vet. He had so much anxiety that the last time he would not walk from car to office. The trainer did say he'll bring a " training collar with him, but not much more about the first day agenda. The first appointment was supposed to be an evaluation!! but the trainer took him to our street! ( where cars were going back and forth) to yank him and train him how to walk( we didn't even ask him to do that). It wasn't even safe and I was worried about cars and safety. We thought " evaluation " means to see the dog in person and gather more information. That's what evaluation meant to us. The true nightmare with this violent- looking training!!!! ended with our poor dog being drained, and exhausted . We both were so stressed out so much that it was even hard to comprehend what the trainer was saying. It was a huge mistake to hire this trainer even though I had read excellent reviews about him.
