I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. I've been coming here forever. I get my boys their good here. Most of the staff is always nice. I wish I could by dog toys that last longer then an hour esp since I just paid anywhere from $10-17 dollars for them. But I guess my dog is just a beast. Thanks for trying though. read more

We have been taking our dog, Lasso, to the petco groomers for a while now, won't take him anywhere else! We love all the girls that work there, especially Haley! She is always so helpful and knowledgeable and Lasso loves her! read more

All of the Petco staff is great but Hailey in grooming is the best!! She makes the "scary grooming experience" not so scary for our 3 fur babies. And not to mention she is extremely friendly and totally knows what she's doing! I will forever keep bringing my dogs to her! read more

I'm not a huge fan of Petco but I'm glad that I can come in during emergency cases for last minute items that I need for my pets. Staff is generally all very helpful & friendly. Occasionally you'll find some good items on sale. read more

Sometimes i think i literally live in this store. I always recieve great help and get my questions answered, once i can actually find someone on the floor to help me. Other then that, my go to pet place! read more

We decided to get a pet rat and we went to a few different pet stores looking for female babies and this is the petco that had them. However I'm writing the review to say how AWESOME the person who helped us was. He set us up with everything we needed and just went above and beyond in his customer service with us. I think he was stoked someone was buying a rat and it wasn't going to be used as food! Either way, he deserves a shout out, and I may even go back with a gift certificate from my own place of work because he deserves it for making the experience really fun and cool. 5 stars for the associate named Michael working at night on 2/20/14 and if you happen to be reading this, Thank you!! read more

My wife and I have been coming to Petco for a while now wether it be for dog food or some toys and treats. We mainly go for grooming. We've been getting one of dogs groomed by Jordan for over a year now and recently brought in our new doggo! She is amazing with them and they love going down there to see her and the rest of the team. I strongly suggest requesting Jordan for your pets grooming needs you will not be disappointed! We love how they always give us feedback and awesome report cards on how they were and what to look out for. read more

Absolutely LOVE the grooming department! They were so friendly & showed so much love too my sweet pup whiskey. They really showed me that he was in good hands. Always coming here whenever he needs his grooming fix!! read more

Went in there for simple puppy food. I heard somewhere they might have breed specific dog food (didn't even know that was a thing). I came out wise like Yoda. Katie, the manager, explained all the differences in dog/puppy food like a pro. She answered every question no matter how dumb and even suggested the smallest bag just in case it didn't work out. Very professional and very informative. read more

Petco - Happy "Bandit" - Pet Stores Near Me - Oceanside, California

I love this Petco. Ask for Alyssa, she is so helpful and sweet! Thanks for all your help with my fur baby!!! You guys rock!

If you are going to the groomers make sure you go with Keys! After Brittany left I was very nervous (my pup is shy) but she loves Krys! Today I took her in and forgot to let them know that my mom would be picking her up, since my mom has never picked her up when she arrived they asked her to call me to double check (Krys was VERY apologetic about doing this) but I think it's wonderful! I am very glad that they do not just let anyone pick up my dog! It makes me feel a even better about leaving my dog here! I love this Petco! Tracy dis a great job training my dog and all the staff is always helpful and friendly!!!! read more

My pup needed his vaccines and claws done. It wanting to break the bank at the vet, we decided to come here. I am so thankful I did. The vaccine was quick and all the people working were great with my dog, who's a bundle of anxiety. The vaccines were quick and the vet tech held him nice and firm, so I wasn't worried about him completely freaking out. My dog also needed his claws done. I was nervous since he won't let us touch his paws, but Jordan was an angel through the whole thing. Despite my dog being terrified and trying to get away (he was scared of the table they have to put the dogs on) she was gentle, sweet, and patient with him. In the end she was able to both cut and grind his claws. None of his wicks were clipped, and they're all shaped perfectly. Jordan was calm and focused on him the entire time, despite the fact that they were suddenly extremely busy (lunch). For future grooming needs we will be making appointments with Jordan. read more

This store would not let my 9 year old son use the restroom because we did not make a purchase...

I take my two pups to this Petco all the time. One of my little pups has a really bad skin issue and the employees have always been super helpful and always tried their best to help my buddy out. They've never tried to sell me something just because it was the more expensive option. They've always given me a few different options and price ranges to choose from. read more

The vaccine clinic at this Petco is terrible. After calling in to confirm that the clinic was open on Sunday mornings, I raced down there while my baby was napping to get a rabies vaccine for my chihuahua mix who got in a fight with a raccoon last night (I wanted to be sure she was current in case it happens again). I got the form and proceeded to stand in line for 45 minutes before it was our turn. As the lady prepared my paperwork, she tried to upsell me on a $65 package for both of my dogs. In attempt to shut her down on the upsell, I mistakenly told her that my dogs had a previous reaction to vaccines so I prefer to do them 1 at a time. Both ladies at the clinic then told me that they couldn't give the dogs any vaccines now that they knew that they had a previous reaction, and apparently will never let me use their service from now on (a legal matter for their company even though the same clinic had already given both dogs their last rabies vaccine when the dogs were nearly one year old - and I have receipts to prove it!). Needless to say I will not be shopping at this Petco again. One tip if you plan to ever use the vaccine services there - NEVER tell them that your dog had a previous reaction to any vaccine, no matter how minor (my dogs had a minor reaction when they were tiny puppies and got their first parvo vaccine too young). It will turn out to be a huge waste of your time too. read more

I had the opportunity to take my chihuahua in to get her nails trimmed i was a bit skeptical at first since she hates having them trimmed and the last time we went to petsmart it took 3 people to do them. Well here at petco Amanda was amazing she was able to do my puppys nail trim and even do a pawish and my puppy loved her she sat still the entire time which was amazing. Amanda was great with her. She now has a regular! read more

Very dissatisfied with the grooming service my Siberian Husky received today. Called to set up an appointment and specifically told them I wanted him to have a trim in certain areas where his hair grows longer. They said they would put notes regarding this for the groomer which they did not. My dog was there for 6 hours just for a bath and brush. When I went to pick him up at the time he was said to be ready he still had a half hour to go. After he was finally finished I asked if his feet could be cleaned up(what he usually gets when I drop him off at the groomers) and the groomer replied to me that she was not a groomer and could not trim his hair. I have a whooly husky meaning he has a double coat for those of you who don't know and I am more than willing to pay what is needed to receive the service I am expecting in return. I took him to petco to be groomed by a "groomer" not someone in training. My dog is a lot of work and I'm very particular about how he's groomed. I just wanted to warn anyone who has a whooly or long haired dog that I would not recommend taking them to petco. It's safe to say I will not be returning again. read more

i have called over 15 times to get a hold of their trainer. i do not know if he even works there. sad- because i have 4 dogs that need some training. do not waste your time here. read more

Bought three things (with my scanned petco card too) and they still manage to overcharge me for two of the items. Not sure if that's an employee mistake or corporate but damn - wake up you jabronies. My money ain't for wasting on some corporate bs. read more

i have never had a bad experience here. staff is friendly and helpful and always treat me well. not sure bout all the bad reviews but i come in for the same dog food and walk to the counter so maybe im not seeing something. read more

Okay so I came here to look for a hamster and I stood over there looking at them for a while and nobody acknowledged the fact I was standing there. One of the guys was getting crickets out of the bin for someone while the other 2 employees was flirting with each other. I asked for help and the guy getting out the crickets said he would. I waited a while longer and turned around to see all three of them talking and the guy looked at me and quickly looked away. I decided I'd wait 10 more minutes to see if he'd come help me but he walked right by me and said nothing. They were more interested in flirting with each other. I'd recommend going to petsmart on college avenue. read more

we love this place.... this store alone would turn my house into a zoo if my girl had her way, and we had the money, haha! plus i dont wanna be a zoo keeper right now, might be different if i was getting paid to do it, but im not. actually im paying to run my own mini zoo, and thankfully this Petco helps make it affordable for us! Normally they have everything we need and more! we have got some great deals through in house sales, their adoption programs, and having our little PetPals card thing... the people who work there are always super cool, informative, and always willing to help you however you need it. if you cant find it their the sales ppl are happy to guide you to a place that is more than likely to satisfy your needs. whether it be another Petco, online, or a competitor that they know carries things they dont have. now thats cool, and thats the kind of vibe that gets us coming back just for the hell of it! :-) read more

I called to check if they had a specific dog bed in stock - the K&H Self Warming Lounge Dog Bed - I got the WORST customer service I've ever had over the phone. The guy who was helping me said his name was Ernie and he went to go to check if they had the dog bed and he said that they did and they were $50. I said, "I was checking your website last night and online it says it's $22.38," He said, "You can't go by last night's numbers you have to go by today's." I know Petco, I go to PetCo for everything for all of my pets, I know their online policy and I know that they price match their website, it even says so online with a green check mark! I had never been spoken to on the phone calling about something so rudely before! I said, "Okay, well can you put 2 on hold for me?" And he said, "Well when are you coming?" I was doubly shocked at that response as well! Obviously if I'm calling to put an item on hold I will be coming within an hour. I told him, "I'll be there in 20 minutes." And hung up. When I arrived I came up to the register and said I called to have an item put on hold and when the woman who was helping me at the register brought it up, it was the COMPLETELY wrong item! I said, "This was not the item I called to have put on hold, I asked for the K&H Self Warming Lounge Dog Bed." Ernie overheard my conversation and said, "Jesus Christ that's not the right one?" And he walked away. The woman who was helping me said okay let me go and grab the right one for you and I thanked her. There was another girl at the register behind her, her name is Amanda, and I asked her if she knew who the manager was because when I called to ask about the bed I got the most rude response I've ever had calling about an item. She said "Yes, Ernie is the manager but I'm also training to be one as well and the other woman who is working is one too." I said, "Oh okay, well I was wondering if I could make a formal complaint because I have never been spoken to like that before ever and I was very appalled." She continued to tell me that he has been complained about a lot. When the other woman came back Amanda helped me to finish my transaction and gave me the online price-matched price for the dog beds. Amanda made my bad experience at PetCo better! She helped me out with honesty and great customer service! I hope that this review gets sent to the Store Manager and that they do something about Ernie's incredibly rude and terrible service! Thank you Amanda you were the best! read more

Mr. Dan was very helpful. He looked busy and still took the time and effort to make a phone call to another store to see if the item is on stock. Very politeful and generous. read more

I shop here all the time and I know the prices are a bit spendy, but I have never had a bad experience yet. As soon as I walk in I get about two or three people that ask me if I need help, they have everything I could need for my dogs. It was very clean no pee on the floor. I think some people that write these reviews are just to sensitive and the store hopefully understands that u can't please everyone. Customer service is key but if u have a customer that is a negative person and will always be negative then just help them and send them on their way. All the comments on yelp are not always accurate and nobody should ever judge a store by what some of the negative people say. I'm a positive person and I say this store is great read more

The prices are to high. Better off looking around at some of the vet supply, or feed stores.
