We're from out of town and badly needed to give our pup a bath. Used the self grooming station and it was very clean/neat with a very large and roomy tub that had stairs for dogs to easily get up and inside. Aprons, towels, brushes and shampoo/conditioner were all available. The water pressure was great, nice and warm and also had a great high power blow dryer. If I lived locally, I'd definitely be back here often. Very fairly price at $22 and didn't feel rushed at all. read more

I found this store about 3 years ago, when my soul dog was diagnosed with HSA cancer. Teri was more than patient trying to help me navigate through this - from Keto foods, suplements and just being emotionally supportive. fast forward to 2 years later, we get a puppy with extreme allergies- and I mean to everything. Teri once again walked through almost every dog food in the store to help me find the right solution. I now have 5 dogs and I buy all my food from her store based on the high quality brands, her passion and love for dogs and the overall kindness she has shown me over the years. plus, I am big fan of supporting local rather than the big box store- that's an added plus. Had been putting off reviews on this establishment for some time. We had taken our pup in for grooming every three mths or so as needed. Our dog was groomed by Patty, an older some what decrepit women. The last time we had an appt. they called to say Patty was in the hospital and couldn't reschedule at that time. I inquired about her health (Patty's) feeling possibly she wouldn't be able to handle our dog after coming back to work so soon after her release from hospital. Then new front counter person hired was very rude to inform me it was personal infor and not my business. We went into pick up the dog and Patty met us at the front snottily said something bout " I shouldn't walk my dog thru bleach" Handed me the leash and i was taken back by this remark so i ask what she meant ? " Her paws are red!" After doing some investigating about how groomers disinfect and they do use bleach on surfaces . this led me to believe she was the culprit with the bleach. When I called to check in with owner Teresa she denied any wrong doing on Patty's behalf or the shop. Teresa has a very heavy over dead on two pet shops in Carlsbad CA and Encinitas, Ca so it makes since that her main concern would be for rich patrons vs regular people. We never went back. Her shop is set up for upselling high priced items to customers who carry large amounts of cash. Beware of this your dog cant speak for its self. read more

A neighbor recommended this shop, and I am so glad she did! I've been here a couple of times when I was in a rush, in need of a particular product and was accompanied by my dog, who wanted to inspect all the treats. The women who worked there were so patient and helpful in quickly locating what I was looking for or suggesting a great option--like the locally sourced Woof Woof Meatballs made with turkey or pollock. My dog LOVES those. The women were also very understanding and sweet to my dog. He, in turn, says WOOF! for the free healthy doggie treats that the shop always seems to have on tap! read more

Really terrible experience here. Brought our puppy in here for her first puppy grooming experience. We had originally booked a wash and groom. They recommended we just do a wash for the first time and book a wash and groom two weeks out so she's comfortable. We then get a call from them that the groomer quit, they have no one to replace her and they will not prioritize us despite having just come in. Now we're calling into other groomers that have months of no appointments and our dog has hair in her eyes and can barely see. Really disappointing, clearly they don't care about customer loyalty. It's unfortunate that their groomer quit but they should have supported customers coming in over the next month to find alternatives and should have made exceptions in situations like ours (where the groomer directly recommended against a cut less than a week before she quit) read more

First impression was the store is very small but cute. After first, customer service was great but went downhill. My biggest issue was the store couldn't keep canned dog food stocked. Larger pet stores have this issue as well of keeping things in stock but it's easier to get what you need. On previous visits when the brand I wanted was out of stock, an employee would recommend a similar brand. So they were very aware whenever they ran out. This happened for 3 visits in a row. I mentioned they were out of stock on that brand of dog food again to the cashier when checking out. I reminded her that this was a recurring issue for a few visits because I wanted to know when they would restock the shelves. She got visibly upset and her response was I was wrong and they got "close enough" that day because a shipment had come in with the brand I wanted but not the formula/flavor. That was my last visit. Unacceptable. You never have the dog food in stock and then you tell the customer it's not a problem? Is that excuse supposed to feed my dogs? read more

I made an appointment for dog grooming and the staff was friendly and made my nervous dog comfortable. The dog looks wonderful and exactly as I requested. Her hair is short, ready for the hot summer. We were looking for a place to self wash our pup because he got muddy at the dog park. They were wonderful in telling us how it works. It's $20 and you get shampoo, towels, brushes and ear stuff. You get to use their facilities which is a big tub to wash your pup and they have a dryer. They've also got a great selection of easily digestible treats as well. Was very disappointed today when I went in to get my usual food & notice they haven't restocked the product I've been purchasing. Two months ago I got a 26# bag & last month I went in they hadn't restocked the flavor I buy so I was forced to purchase the #12. I went in today to find they still hadn't restocked the product. I found a different protein which luckily my dog wasn't allergic to in the 26# bag & decided to go with that instead. I noticed the bag was pretty worn like it had been on the shelf awhile & sure enough the food expires September 2020. I check other bags & most other bags didn't expire till 2021 so it was obviously there for some time. While checking other dates I noticed one bag expected September of 2019!!! 6 months PASSED the expiration. I took it to the counter to let the staff know they should go through their Fromm food to not only restock but check from freshness. The employee response was "it's only 6 months passed". Excuse me?! You could have unknowingly sold that food & made a dog sick. I left the building only to find a hole in the bag & was forced to return the bag and go home empty handed. Very disappointing experience & won't be returning. read more

I was looking for a smaller more natural pet store for good quality food options. It's a seemingly endless search trying to find the perfect dog food but at EarthWise you have lots of good choices! I definitely recommend going to their next annual sale as everything was 10% off and there were lots of samples and sales. We have already been three times and I plan to continue to frequent this store because of the great service and quality options. I visited Earthwise mainly because of their location from my house. They had a four legged greeter named Fable-such a nice did. I went to have my two Shih Tzus groomed by a lovely woman named Michelle. I felt like I was visiting friends who worked at a small town pet store because of the friendly nature of Michelle and the two ladies working in the store. Michelle did an amazing job and my dogs were so happy-they loved her! They looked so good My vet asked me where I got them groomed and when I told him he said he was going to recommend them to other clients. I had heard from a neighbor about Michelle, the groomer here at Earthwise so I decided to give her a shot. She is closer to my home then my other groomer who I also like but with a baby this location is much more convenient. My little shi-tzu looked fantastic. Plus she saved her eyelashes which I didn't even know she had! I always worry about her getting groomed with someone new because of her short snout but Michelle did a great job! Plus, my dog had a great time and loved Michelle. So happy to have found this place. I do want to mention the store because it's beautiful. Clean and the best products for your fur babies. Most groomers these days will use a razor on your dog, stick them in a cage dryer and rush through. Michelle takes the time to hand scissor!! On a bichon, that's the only way they look great. I am really liking this store. One of our dogs is destroying the wood staircase of our home. They were super healthful here in setting us up with a spray that's safe on our wood and can salvage what she hasn't yet knawed. These people know their products. I was happy to find a rash guard (spf 40) for our poodle mix who's losing her fur. Reasonably priced. Cute selection. Their bath area for self bathing of the dogs looks very clean. My little Zuka loved this store! They treated her like a queen. Unfortunately, Zuka crossed the rainbow bridge but when I get a new little friend, we will come back to Earthwise. The store is beautiful. Nice flooring, very clean, and the owners little friend can be seen sleeping near the check out. The staff is very knowledgeable about the products and extremely friendly. The quality of the products is some of the best. The self wash is great. If you are in an apartment or washing your dog is a strain, this is the place. 1st visit was decent. Then we scheduled a 2nd visit for which there one and only nail trimmer decided to go home early. That happens (even is we drove out our way for the visit) but the front desk was barely apologetic, scrambled to look at pretend notes as if the appt wasn't real... and it became clear they were a bit unorganized. Ok, no problem. So then the front desk reschedules us for two days later. No way would they ditch us on this one. Two days pass and I was about to head over but I thought I better call before hand to ensure they remembered our appt. They did but their nail trimmer was out again. Funny yet unprofessional. Anyways could have been a fluke. Could be real. But we recommend Encinitas Spas in Suds. They are half as cheap, require no reservations, and have 6 groomers. I have been coming here for almost a year and each time as I am leaving have thought " I need to leave a review" Today is finally the day I got off my procrastination "keester" to do so. This place is awesome! The staff is kind and knowledgeable and always available to answer questions. The self dog wash is incredibly user friendly and very easy to get the pups in the tub because it has stairs. They also have a point system where you get points for spending and today just happened to be "two for one Tuesday" where you can self wash two pups for the price of one. I had no idea and coincidently had my roommates dog with me, so in the tub he went (which makes me like the most awesome roommate ever :) Then I get up to the counter and found out that I had accrued enough points for a free wash! This place is awesome!. We took our lab for a much needed bath and the set up was great and the staff was amazing. The bath tubs are huge and easy to use. They even have stairs for the larger dogs easy access and they provide waterproof aprons so you don't get wet. The water was the perfect temperature and you can choose from 4 different shampoos that comes out of the hose with the water when it's not on the rinse setting. It's basically the same set up as a self car wash but for your pup! They provided the towels, 2 different style brushes, even alcohol and wipes to clean her ears. There's even a retractable blow dryer hose. Genius. Our girl was completely pampered. Another fun thing is they get to interact with other dogs so it's essentially a mini play date. Our girl was so good during the whole thing, we were even able to pick her out a new toy before leaving the store. I'm never washing her at home again. read more
