This store isn't necessarily bad, it's just a tad bit small with a lack of variety. Online it says fish are available, but in store, I was informed that fish are not sold here. The associated Vetco in this store charged us an all-n-one package for vaccinations (5/2/26) with a follow up for boosters on 6/13/26. They scheduled our follow up visit during our first visit. Vetco scheduled it, we didn't, VETCO told us when to return. Upon arrival at the scheduled follow up visit on 6/13, VETCO said we were two weeks late for a followup, refused to give our puppy her booster shots and wanted to charge us all over again. The vet hid behind a divider while the associate talked to me, talked to her, then back to me. They weren't busy, no other pets were being seen, they had texted me asking me to come in early because they had no other pets coming in. The vet hid and I was told I was lying, that they didn't and wouldn't have made the appt for 6/13. The 6/13 appt note, on Petco/Vetco personalized notepaper, is literally stapled on the blue folder with receipt from the first visit on 5/2. Of course I reported this to Vetco's main number, someone took a report and said I'd get a follow up. I sent a detailed report to Vetco online as well. It's 6/21, no followup from Vetco's main office either. I guess they're hiding like the vet at the store. I'm out the money, my dog is now definitely behind in boosters, Vetco doesn't care. We had a crappy visit with the Vetco total care in Cedar Hill too, but that's another story. We were hoping the clinic in Irving would be better. read more

I only go there for two things: my dog's ridiculously specific food (because, surprise, the brand got scooped up by Petco--smart move, guys) and an endless supply of Lamb Chop toys. My dog is obsessed with them. Or maybe I am? It's a little blurry at this point. Either way, Petco keeps the obsession alive. Their delivery service is a win too--DoorDash always shows up on time, and my dog's food arrives looking just as exciting as kibble can. I have never had this type of experience with a grooming service, but this has been the worst and most traumatic for my dog thus far. Due to their carelessness and poor employee training, Petco Grooming severely injured my dog in two spots while giving him a haircut on July 23, 2021. When I was called to be notified of the incident, I was told he received a "minor cut". I was shocked when I arrived to pick him up and saw for myself. Once we got home, after further inspection, I noticed he had another cut under his arm. I didn't have to pay for the service, but I was very frustrated when trying to get him medical attention after the incident. The employees told me that I could NOT go to their in-house vet (which would have been the most convenient thing to do) and that I needed to find a vet on my own and only if the bill was under $150, I could call them and they would pay over the phone. How can a business as large as Petco have such poor customer service? They should be better prepared for incidents like this. As a marketing professional, the last thing you do after a wrongdoing, is inconvenience your customers even more. I will never bring my dog back to this location and I'm hoping he hasn't been traumatized from his experience. read more

Also when booking appointment no mention of extra charges, just listed as services to be done. I will be as straightforward as possible. This review is somewhat lengthy because it struck a nerve. This has definitely got to be one of the worst stores I have seen in a long time. I was looking for new and unused products as anyone would expect. When I arrived the store had an unappealing visual. upon walk-in. It had items strewn along the floor. In addition, quite a few products had less product in them which was not minimal but a lot. This made it obvious that patrons had used them and put them back on their shelves. When I brought this to the attention of Marie. She was acting as the cashier and possibly a manager position. She stated that the shipments were coming in that way off the semi-truck deliveries. She claimed the drivers had did it. Please keep in mind that shipments can be refused if damaged. Coincidentally, I am very familiar with that logistics part and advised her that the items are usually loaded and sealed when the shippers place them on the trucks. Therefore, their shipping companies are the cause NOT the drivers. That is the case unless it is totally damaged in transit. At that time there is usually an insurance claim done if it is totally unsalvageable. There is rarely a time when a semi-truck driver even has the ability to load their own truck at places like this. Many drivers take pride in their jobs to avoid having insurance claims against their company which could jeopardize their contracts and overall job performance. read more

DO NOT USE THE GROOMERS!!! I came here for years until I witnessed how rough they are with your pets, I stopped bringing them in. But every time I stop by to get supplies I am disgusted and hurt of how they treat the pets while being groomed. Today I walked in to speak to a manager and asked for the name of the woman terrorizing the poor dog in this picture, and they did not give me her name (if this is your dog please stop bringing him here this happened on Sunday 11/20 at about 11:50am- small white dog) The groomer has dark hair I believe red highlights and a round tattoo on her arm, her picture is not even on the board. She put the dryer straight to his face in front of the poor baby's nose and I can tell he was having a hard time breathing. Everyone knows that you do not use a dryer directly to a pets face. It was horrible, truthfully tears came down my face and the manager just said if I needed a hug... clearly they don't care and will not do anything about it. This review is only for grooming: So yesterday I took my puppy for a bath to this Petco. I made an appointment and asked to have my puppy go through "express service", something they offer if you don't want your pup to wait in the kennel for his/her turn. The service is $10, which I think is fair. So on the day of the appointment we get to the store and i went in to the small space that's supposed to be the grooming salon reception area or drop off. The only visible employee was working on another dog so I didn't mind waiting a few minutes for her to get us checked in.. well it took a good 10 minutes, and when Ladonda came in she was extremely rude. She asked if we needed help so I said yes, we have an appointment at 11. My husband had been standing right outside the door with our puppy because the drop off space was so small and it was taking so long, there was no point in us being cramped up in the tiny space! Anyway, she rudely said "well you have to actually be inside to get checked in".. I said well I'm inside and you were busy so.. to what she responded "well I was being glitter bombed in there!!" ....umm what? I don't know what the heck that means and not sure why you have to take it out on us! She looked irritated to say the least. So it doesn't end there, during the whole check in process, she kept rolling her eyes and uttering super rude remarks.. to us! The customers! She asked if we knew our petco rewards number so I gave her the phone number we give to the cashier and she just rolled her eyes mid way and said "um no it should be a 4 (or whatever number she said) digit code"... I said well I don't know it then, I don't think I was ever given one and I always just give the cashier this number. She rudely responded "well our computers aren't the same so.." ok how am I supposed to know this?! The she asked "is your dog going straight through?".. I don't know if I was in shock by how rude she was being or if it really didn't make sense but i responded "I'm sorry, what?" So of course she was irritated that I didn't know and she raised her voice and repeated the question as if I was too dumb to understand and added "so she's not going in the kennel, she's going straight through?". I responded "the express service?, yes we asked for that, so yes". This is something I asked for when I made the appointment and "express" is a word they use for that service themselves!! I was about to tell her we'd be going somewhere else for grooming because I had had enough, but luckily Brittney came out to help and when we realized she would be the one taking care of our pup, we felt much better. Side note: Ladonda is the salon manager. She really needs to work on her customer service skills because that was so unprofessional. Brittney was so sweet and caring. I do drive up to the Petco in Coppell for their flea and tick treatment. That is due to the limited variety in stock at Las Colinas. The last time I took Dylan to Petsmart (6 years ago) they called to tell me they GLUED his ear back on and the bleeding had stopped. After nearly cutting the poor boys ear off they didn't even comp his grooming or the in house vet clinic treatment. She vomited in the car as soon as we pulled up to the store, so she was already upset about taking a ride in the car. When I walked into the grooming section, a nice woman came into the reception area and greeted me warmly. After telling her my name, she proceeded to tell me that when I booked the appointment, she quoted the wrong price to me. No, it will now be $55. What? My dirty doggie needed some spa time, so whatever. She then asked if I would like for them to give a haircut...wait, the $55 is just for a bath and nail trimming? I looked at her strangely and said yes. Wow, the haircut is getting thrown in, my lucky day. My doggie was shaking in my arms, but a male employee arrived and took her gently. About an hour later, I received a text message that she was done. When I first picked her up, she looked (and smelled) nice. They had brushed her out and she looked fluffy and better than before. After going home and looking at her more closely, I saw that her mouth area had not been cleaned. In fact, remnants of her breakfast were still hanging out in her beard. Hmmm. Then, I see that her paws are dirty. What in the world. How can that be, if she is tub bathed? Needless to say, I will not be returning to Petco for grooming. Waste of hard-earned money. read more

Key work "trim" I said less than half an inch off my Pomeranian...imagine my surprise when I pick him up and at least two inches are GONE. Then they tried to charge me an additional $30 for de-shedding and a bath when I specifically said I did not want that service. The girls working there were rude and very u professional. This is my favorite pet supply store. They have high quality cat and dog food as well as treats. Their pricing is competitive and they often will price match their website for you without you even asking. Their sales and bargain bins are stellar and their Petco perk card has saved me tons of money. The employees are all very helpful and kind; they genuinely care about the animals in their care and their customers (along with their pets). They also have a great animal donation service that runs all year to help feed animals in need. I would certainly rather buy all my pet supplies here versus some stuck up specialty store with ridiculous pricing and posh elitist employees. Have a new dog in the house and went to Petsmart a few miles away. They were really not helpful at all in finding the products or with knowledge. Things were much different at this Petco. I was greeted right when I walked in and the associate walked me through the store to the various items and explained to me why one was better than the other or admitted when they were not familiar. They have a 100% return policy on any items that the pet does not like or is not as expected, including dog food (within a certain amount of time). All-in-all, the store definitely has a smaller footprint than Petsmart but they seem to fit just as much, if not more, product into the space. I noticed my cat starting to get a LOT of dandruff. Knowing that dandruff comes from dry skin (or scalp) and not being dirty, I set out to find a moisturizing conditioner/lotion, preferably one that doesn't need to me rinsed out. I found a few online so I know they exist so my boyfriend & I stopped here while running some errands. They didn't have any kind of moisturizing lotion :-( They only had tick & flea shampoo which was not the issue. I browsed through the dog aisle and found TONS of moisturizing products. Although, I couldn't bring myself to get dog products for my cat since they are such different species. The only thing this place is good for is heavy duty wooden cat trees.
