I came in one afternoon to get my dog, Emma's, nails trimmed and the lady was SO kind and friendly and knowledgable. She was honest and unbiased as well. She even gave my dog a little handkerchief - how sweet! I even signed up for the loyalty program and Petco has such a great value with the amount of coupons they send me! Natalie recommended a 1 on 1 first visit & decided it would be best to work privately, & it was definitely the right thing to do based on my dog's reactivity. Had an appointment for my dog today @3. Jackie used to cut his hair and did great which is why we kept coming back. She left so we decided to give someone else there a try. We went in @3, no one welcomed us whatsoever when we walked into grooming. Not even eye contact from anyone, NOTHING. They were looking at our dog, looking at each other rolling there eyes. There were 3 ladies with 1 cat. While one was just standing by the door with her arms crossed. They were clearly talking about my dog which he is a handful, but I always take care of who does his cuts. We walked out since we didn't care for the vibes in there. Had my Pomeranian groomed here on Friday. Very poor job. Although he smelled good, I could tell he was not clean everywhere. The hair behind his ears was dandruffy and not brushed at all. As I petted him I felt many mats that hadn't been brushed out. They used cheap shampoo and conditioner (even though I paid more for "the good stuff") so he was frizzy and is still shedding terribly. I paid more than my usual groomer too! Bad choice. Never again. read more

I am one HAPPY dog mom!! Amanda did so amazing with Benji. He responded really well with her and with how patient she was with him...this cutie came walking out less than 2 hours from when we walked in!!! She even got his nails done! She started working on his ears but he wasn't a fan (dogs that don't shed will get the inside ear hairs plucked, so she tried that but stopped when he didn't like it since it's her first time with him). After he knew her intentions with inside his ears, he wouldn't let her trim the outside part of his ears lol! She gave him treats throughout and sent us home with a bag of treats :) those will be his "haircut treats" from now on!! Drama the cat was even impressed with his new look! this was Benji's first successful trip to the groomer in the 2 years I've had my little rescue mutt, and I'm so incredibly happy to have finally found somebody I trust and who understands dogs like Amanda does. read more

This is not a big Petco. It's like the neighborhood walmart version of the big box store. I come here for the convenient location but like any Petco, I find their prices to be high. I'm a member of their rewards club but have yet to benefit from it. Overall they have a good selection and the store is organized well. The staff I've met is friendly. It's not a specialty store so don't expect the staff to know a lot about exotic pets. It's a place to stop by if you happen to be in the area, but it's not a destination pet shop. read more

I love bringing my dog here for grooming, the groomers are always timely, treat my dog well, and he is always happy to come back on his following visits. The prices are reasonable, availability is great and the facility is clean. I love that I can "spy" on my dog during his grooming because grooming is done through a glass room that you can see from the general store. In the past, we have needed to use a special soap for my dog's allergies and they happily did that for us. Finally, you'll always leave with a small goodie bag your pet will love for days to follow. I was walking through the aisles with my kids and one of my girls comes around the corner holding a HUGE knife. The staff has a side table set up at the end of one of the aisles by the fish takes with knifes sitting out in the open. Not safe petco!! This gave me a heart attack seeing my three year old grabbing for a table with knifes. No employee's in site at all!! Just horrible. What are the knifes even for? read more

We've always been customers of Petco. We like the layout and the products they carry. Of course you can find some of the products cheaper elsewhere but we're fans of "one-stop-shop". One of our dogs comes here for his monthly wash and brushout, they ladies are great with him. They also have a woman who is "certified" for cats, didn't know you needed to be certified but I guess it's a good idea. Friendly staff and a great dog trainer too! read more

I was a little disappointed in this store. It's fairly small and the selection isn't as big as I would have liked for kitty supplies. The location is amazing, since it's right by where I live, but if you are looking for specific items, this may not be the place. Go to a bigger Petco or Petsmart. The people working were friendly enough, and there are adoptable cats right next to the checkout if you are intersted. I wanted to take one home with me when I went. read more

We have been bringing our dog to this location for grooming for the past couple of years and until recently had no issues. I had an appointment for today at 11:30, brought her in on time and then was told they were very busy and it was "going to be awhile....at least 5 or 6 hours". The last time we took her, we were angry because they had our dog for more than 7 hours! They overbook and then your dog suffers. I expect it to be a few hours, but this is ridiculous. We will never go back to this location......plenty of other groomers around. read more

Here is the complaint filed with the BBB on 1-3-14 (no response from Petco): "We purchased a corn snake along with a guinea pig, cages and supplies for both animals on 12-1-13. I returned with the snake on 12-22-13 explaining that it had not eaten and I was afraid it was going to die. **[I was not looking for a refund or anything at that point, just simply 'can you maybe save the snake', it was $25, no big deal if I have to buy a new one.] I stopped in and the cashier was unable to find our purchase information based on our phone number, so she said they would have someone see if they can get the snake to eat and took down my name and phone number. I explained we would look for our paperwork. I did not hear back so I stopped in on Sunday 12-29 and was told they didn't have my contact information and the person that handles the snake was not in. I left my information again. On Tuesday, New Years Eve, I get a voice mail (I have it recorded and ready forward it), from the GM, repeatedly exclaiming I left a snake without contact information and they have been caring for it and with no contact information they assumed it was abandoned. The GM explained she was leaving town until Tuesday and to call her then if I want to talk. I called back immediately and spoke with someone else who said she had already left. I explained my situation and the girl said she thought the snake was better but to call back in a couple of days to find out. I called today **[1-3-14] and spoke with Tracy, she refused to tell me anything and deferred to her GM, which I explained I was told to call in, Tracy rudely yelled back that I have to talk to her GM and deal with her when she returns next Tuesday. I tried to explain the GM said to call but was repeatedly cut off and denied to chance to even talk. I am absolutely appalled at the customer service received at this store, whom still has my son's snake and will not even talk to me about it. THEY WILL NOT EVEN DISCUSS IT. It is unbelievable that we the customer are being treated as a criminal of some sort. I am a Henderson small business owner and fear for your future with employees like this. " I can not emphasize in words the frustration with these people. They do not deserve your business. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but my experience was awful. I've always loved petco, I would go there for everything. I recently got a puppy and wanted to do training with them. I paid for 1on1 sessions because I had a very busy schedule managing school and work. The guy who helped me sign up said I'd receive a call Monday when trainer is back in and she would work around my schedule. I didn't get a call for 2 weeks. And the only reason I got a call was because I had to call and let them know I hadn't heard back. When the trainer called she couldn't accommodate any of the times or days I needed. The only reason I chose 1on1 classes was because I needed someone to work around me being so busy, so now the purpose was defeated. Finally after going back and forth she offered 1 free class since she hadn't called for a few weeks. I appreciated this. That next week it was week 1 of the training, I get a call the trainer won't be in and she will see me the following week. At this point I'm frustrated considering I already waited 2 weeks for a call, now another week is pushed back again. So I decided it's in my best interest to do training elsewhere. I didn't feel my time or money was valued somewhere where they clearly didn't make me a priority. I called and asked to speak to a manager, I nicely explained I would like a refund and don't think it's going to work out. I explained what happened and all she said was "okay give me one second ". At the least I thought she was apologize for the inconvenience it had been. She thought she had put me on hold but she didn't. I heard her and the trainer going back and forth about me. The trainer saying "I don't get why she's mad I gave her a free class " etc. The manager was talking badly about me thinking I was on hold. She gets back on the phone and says "you can come in and we will refund you " I told her thank u but I did hear the entire conversation about me. I came in to the store and the girl at the front was nice, I had used a temporary debit card at the time of purchasing the classes. She said the card ended in different numbers so she would get an employee to help. The blonde girl in the office next to the front came out and said "we will only refund you if you find that card" which I understand, but didn't remember using any other card. I just told her I would've only used this one card and she began getting mad and said "well until you find the card you used we aren't refunding you anything". I did get my money back but I'm appalled at the horrible customer service here. I no longer will shop here because I want to support businesses where people appreciate my service and are kind. It takes a lot more in you to be rude than to just be nice. read more

Our beloved Betta fish was clearly sick. I loaded my 2 young kids in the car and headed to the closest pet store. I was looking for the items I had read about on line. I never expect these types of big box pet stores to really know that much. But WOW was I surprised when I asked one question about a product and these 2 young ladies went above and beyond to help and educate me. I learned so much from this 10 minute visit and I could see these 2 ladies really care for fish! I was shocked at their level of knowledge and care. I went to this location to shop for tropical fish. I spent approximately 10 minutes waiting for someone to help me. Went looking for an employee and walked the entire store finding no one. There was no cashier up front and the only visible employees were the ones in grooming. I left and went to the location on Marks Street and was helped within 2 minutes. At this location I saw several employees around the store who acknowledged me. I will never return to the location on Green Valley and Horizon Ridge. read more

American Eskimo 10 week old puppy needed basic training so I signed up for the $99 6week Puppy Level 1 course with Natalie Mercer as trainer. First 1 hour class was 1/21/2016. Kodi is pure bred from champion parents (a Westminster descendant) so I expected decent results. Kodi and Natalie exceeded my expectations. During the class Kodi responded to his name, learned sit, down, fetch. He offered his paw during sit, so he also learned to shake. Petco Store #1195 has a nice ample-sized training area partitioned from the rest of the store. The only negatives during our first class where frequent loud noises (sounded like store employees dropping large boxes which startled my little boy) and lack of any other students (puppies) in our class so Kodi didn't have the chance to socialize with other puppies. If you have a new puppy who needs basic training, I highly recommend Natalie at this Henderson, Nevada Petco Store. read more

I love this location, the manager tracy (super cute curly red hair) is always so sweet and helps me with whatever i need for my labrador! The trainer Kim, is also my go to for any questions, day or night! The staff is always helpful and remembers my face so i always get a warm welcome! I have never had a bad experience, as my dog is as there grooming salon today she wasnt even nervous because she knows the staff so well and they always make it a point to come say hi to us and the trainer kim helped us rehabilatate her after we she was rescued and the staff was always giving us great tips! The store is small and small staffed, but i love that, if you want a team that is more of a community i suggest this store, the other petcos are okay but this one is amazing! Took my little guy Teddy to the groomers today and I absolutely loved Melissa. Right from the start she was so nice and welcoming. When I came back for pickup, teddy seemed so happy and Melissa went on about how wonderful he was and even took cute pics during the process! It's hard to trust Leaving your pet in the hands of another person, especially since I've been to a few grooming places that I didn't feel right about ( I didn't end up grooming him at those other places), but I had no worries with Melissa. She even wrote a sweet note on his report card for me and gave him a big bag of treats. I didn't know about the deal on Yelp where your first grooming is 25% off, but she told me about it and made sure I got the discount! I know a ton of places that would've made you pay the full price especially since I didn't know about it. Will definitely be bringing teddy back for his next visit! Thank you Melissa!! read more

I was very unhappy with this store. Their ferrets were very neglected, they were not used to human contact, they smelled like they had not been bathed in at least a month. Their claws were very sharp, they broke skin on my hands. I have never seen a ferret so neglected. None of their ferrets were used to human contact they did not calm down when we held them. The Grooming salon in Petco overbooks,keeping the dogs 5 hrs,this is unacceptable. It happened twice to me now they've lost my business!

I went to this location today with my 2 daughters while my Wife went shopping at Sprouts next door. Pet stores are usually more fun than grocery stores for them. The girls went over to the ferrets after looking at most of the other animals there. Jeanette one of the clerks was amazing. She asked if we needed help, I told her the situation and that we weren't going to be buying animals let alone a ferret. Jeanette started talking to the girls and asked if they wanted to pet a ferret. She took about 15 minutes to hang out with us and let the girls pet the ferrets. Which I thought was amazing. Then when we were checking out (we bought some treats for our dog) she brought a dog, Bengie, over and had him doing tricks for the girls. It was the best experience I think that we have ever had at a pet store. read more

This review is for the store employees, for Natalie, the dog trainer and for Janine, the dog groomer. First, the store. It is pretty new and is very clean. Of course, pets are welcome and there are clean up stations if your pet has an accident in the store. The employees are friendly and take the time to get to know your dog if you go there regularly. The merchandise can be a little pricey, depending on what you're purchasing. Natalie, the Dog Trainer, is outstanding. She clearly loves dogs and has the expertise and experience to help you train your dog. I highly recommend her classes. They were positive and fun. Janine is a fantastic groomer. The first time I took my dog there, she brought out the clipper to show me exactly how long my dogs hair would be after grooming. She did a beautiful job, which I realized when I went to someone else at another place that had been recommended and where I was able to get in sooner. I realized then how perfectly Janine groomed my dog and will be going to her from now on. read more
