No complaints. Much better than Petsmart. I'm in and out within minutes. I frequent Petco to grab crickets multiple times a week. The crickets are at the front near the register so there is no waiting for an employee to help you unlike Petsmart. Crickets are also 1c cheaper here and 5% off if you have a Petco membership. The employees at this Petco location are super chill and nice. They always give me more crickets than I ask for. They also accept Apple Pay which makes transactions a breeze. When there are sales, Petco also offers very competitive pricing especially for leopard geckos. I was able to snag one for $8. read more

As a dragon and crested gecko Mama, their feeders are horrible. The Dubias are always dead, and they only ever have a few containers. Marked down always but again, all dead. Like you can't even remove them? Horribly priced. Order online if you can! If no time to order, you're better off going to Pet supplies plus, Sublett location. They also sell a lot of items that are dangerous to dragons. Like the wicker hammocks. These will rip nails and toes off! Reptile supplies aren't great, however I will say they have more Arcadia products in store compared to any local stores. As a fur mama(cat/dog/rabbit/guinea pig) the supplies are decent but overpriced unless a good sale. Customer service is mostly non existent. I've never been asked if I needed anything. However I don't typically want to be bothered anyway. There's a couple cashiers, a younger male and an older one who are nice at least. Please work on your feeder issue. With your prices you should be presenting a much healthier supply! I'm in there a lot, it never changes. read more

Terrible customer service when buying crickets they think it's OK not to give you the right amount for your money or to put calcium when you ask, when I got offered, vital care they said since I'm here a lot more than I should be. I still bought it then they continue. To give bad customer service by not adding my vital premier rewards every time I come and purchase something I wouldn't call it racist maybe just patterns from their lives but very judgmental team from the way people look instead of just asking the right questions. I have autism. I had the right size tank and everything, but since the worker was so sure that I didn't know anything and I couldn't take the pet the day of is the third time she asked me if I had the right tank size I get facial triggers Maybe she thought I was lying. Then I get giggled At so I went to the one in Mayfield they had everything an said my tank was perfectly fine an kept asking what store after I told them my trouble they said really an asked again an said really said sorry that's not cool an gave me 5 bucks in rewards on the shelf no dead animals. They already had crickets backed up. You could literally see that there were a lot of crickets. You can tell that there's 50 in there they're not 30. They were on top of their game. The reason I make this review is because the Petco that I originally went to is 1 mile away I have to drive 7 miles. Because of poor customer service and bad upkeep of the store. but I canceled my vital membership not because of y'all's new update point system technical difficulties but because of that store don't really think it does anything moneywise but I just need to let y'all know is in terrible shape I'm gonna get the same membership at the other store. I've been In this location like 3 times now and every time the employees act like you're an inconvenience. I go to different pet stores all the time (petco, Petsmart, pet supplies etc) all around Mansfield, Arlington , dfw area and I normally have an over the top awesome experience so I'm not sure what's going on the this location. They have 50% off deals because they're flopping on selling animals. I wasn't surprised to see sick bearded dragons bc I didn't even see a heat lamp but on top of that I was looking at the crested gecko they had (because I have one and I know how to care for them and I was curious) AND THERES MITES!! There were a bunch of mites in the enclosure so do not purchase animals there you could get a mite infestation and that can effect your other animals. On top of that I went in for crickets and black soldier fly larvae for my frog and ive never purchased their refrigerated bugs before but I know that the cold from the fridge slows them down a lot. Yeah they sold me dead black soldier fly larvae for 3.99 and when I bought them they were normal color not black so i thought it was fine. Whatever honestly they clearly aren't up keeping anything there and it's hard to see that. I think a higher up then the store manager needs to intervene because there's literally mites!! If I go around that area I'll go back in to get a picture. -100/10 don't go there. Mansfield petco seems fine tho read more

Unfortunately this Petco has fallen on hard times. Took my dog by just to get his nails clipped. It was filthy on a Friday afternoon in the dog grooming section. They hadn't cleaned or swept all day from all the previous jobs. Fur was everywhere and flying through the air. Only 1 dog in there when we came. Everyone working there looked like they were in high school and had no training which soon became clear was the case. Got home to realize they didn't clip his dew claws at all, they were poking into him. Also what they did clip was very uneven, some much shorter than others. A large amount of the shelves were empty and their inventory is in bad shape. Will definitely not be back. I suggest you find somewhere else also. read more

Stopped in to check out pet selection and grab some fish supplies and dog food. The pet selection today was limited and had several empty cages. No ferrets, rabbits and only 1 Guinea pig. They did have lots of lizards and mice. Fish supplies were fair. Dog food selection very limited to "natural " and didn't see the normal brand names of food. They do have a good selection of fish and had 2 parakeets they looked very happy and well cared for. Staff was friendly enough and answered all our questions read more

This was our first time taking my doggie there, we scheduled him for a bath and cut on Dec 22nd. The appt was set for 2:00pm and at 10:30am I received a call from the groomers asking if I could drop him off early bc they were having issues with their water heater and they didn't want the dogs to bath in cold water. I thought it was a good idea so I did. I didn't hear from them after that so at 5:30pm I called the salon and asked if he was ready for pick up, they said no and that they will call me. They finally called me at 7:30pm. IT took us 10 minutes to get to the store. When we arrived no one was in the grooming area, I could hear my dog barking in the back room. I called and tried to yell for attention, even had to stand in line of the customer line in the store. The cashier said that the lady had left and had to call her. We waited for 15 minutes and then he finally came and tried to let our dog out. I had to go to the back myself to take him out. It was a mess, I pay you and u leave my dog lonely in the back. This review is for the Petco grooming service, I absolutely love them! I have a little applehead chihuahua and while she is super friendly she can be a little whinny when I am not around. I have been taking her to petcos grooming services for the past year and they are amazing with her. I always get the spa package for her and we do it about every 2 months and she always comes home so calm and smelling great. They have a blueberry facial which gets rid of the black stains around her eyes from when she cries I just can't recommend this place enough. read more

DO NOT BUY THE ZILLA KITS FOR REPTILES THEY SALE, THEY WILL HARM YOUR PET! I am giving petco a one star mainly for their lack of knowledge about reptiles. So I made the mistake of falling in love with a bearded dragon they had. I knew absolutely nothing about them so I asked the staff how they were as pets and what equipment I needed. He then said they were fairly easy and that they sold a kit that had everything I needed and was cheaper than if I had bought the stuff separate. This kit was a 20 gallon zilla deluxe. So I took my dragon home and set up the kit. It came with a dial stick on thermometer, colored heat bulb, coiled uvb bulb, a red night time bulb, some pellet substrate, and a food and water dish. Long story short 3 days later my little guy passed. I blamed my self over and over until I did tons of research and spoke with reputable reptile breeders who had years of experience with bearded dragons. Turns out my first mistake was not knowing the warning signs of illness before purchasing a dragon. The signs are mouth breathing, lack of apetite, and jerky movement. My petco dragon had all these and he most likely had a respiratory infection and metabolic bone disease when I got him which he probably developed from lack of proper equipment at Petco. My second mistake was taking the Petco rep advice and buying the zilla kit. The only thing worthy of this kit is probably the tank. The rest of is just down right dangerous for a bearded dragon, specially one that came sick from the pet store. The dial thermometer has been proven to be off by as much as 40 degrees! Plus it's a stick on type. This will give you the temp on the glass as oposed to the basking spot. The other thing is the bulbs, coil uvb bulbs have been linked to causing eye damage to dragons and provide very little uvb which they need for bone development. The basking bulbs is also a colored bulb which is bad for them. Any nighttime bulb is bad for bearded dragons as even the small amount of light interrupts their sleep. Then there's the substrate which can cause impactions. Most bearded dragons that are unfortunate to end up in these kits either are cooked alive due to the nad thermometer or develop illnesses due to poor equipment. So you spend 170 dollars for a kit that you have to end up throwing away most of its contents except a 20 dollar tank which you'll end up having to toss anyway when he out grows it. After learning my lesson and doing all my research I put together a kit of my own with the proper equipment. $40 gallon tank which is twice the size and he can grow into. Reptisun uvb florescent tube and a basking lamp for around $60. Repti carpet for about $10 and the most important part, the thermometers. Two zoomed digital thermometers with probe, echo was $10. So when all was said and done I had spent significantly less for superior equipment that will not hurt my pet. Sadly these Zilla kits are a money maker for Petco because they are enticing to impulse buyers who had not done their research. So I ask that you not only not buy it but tell Petco to stop selling them and safe a bearded dragon from ending up in one. read more

I really don't even want to give them 1 star. Overall store and store customer service is great. They had a deal for a dog training class. Trainer (Megan) was suppose to call us and schedule an appointment. Since I never got a call for over a week, I decided to give them a call. She lied saying she called and left me a voice mail which I never got. We made an appointment for a sat class at 130. Since I didn't realize I was working that sat I called all week literally everyday to reschedule. Left messages with different people and never a call back. Luckily one day she herself answered the ph. When I mentioned I have been trying to call her this whole week, she never acknowledged or apologized for not calling back just rescheduled and that was it. On the scheduled day I get there with my dog and guess what she's not working that day and a lady named Sky forgot to call us and tell us. I asked for a refund the whole time she had an attitude and gave a receipt saying its done. It's been 2 business days and the money is not in the account. So now I have to go back to the store again and see what's going on. They have no idea what customer service is all about. read more

Just about everyone is nice I think one of the cashier needs better people skills but appears to knows what shes doing. Love the 5% back but there prices are way over priced. $17 for a hamster wheel that I can get for $12 at Petsmart for example. There sales on fish tanks are great though $1 per gallon I got a 40, and two 20 gallons from there. Currently have 7 hamsters a few fish and soon two guinea pig pups. read more
