I purchased a tortoise from Petco, and unfortunately, the experience has been devastating. The tortoise I brought home was in extremely poor condition from the very start. Within hours of having her, I noticed alarming signs: not eating properly, nervous bouncing, and peeing herself when being touched . After doing my research and reaching out for advice, it became clear that she had not been properly cared for before being sold. It's obvious Petco does not prioritize the well-being of these animals. Tortoises require very specific care, diet, and habitat conditions to survive and thrive. Selling them without ensuring they are healthy and properly cared for is unacceptable and shows a lack of responsibility toward both the animals and the customers who trust them. I am heartbroken to see the condition my tortoise is in and deeply regret trusting Petco with such an important purchase. Small animals deserve proper care and attention, not to be treated like products on a shelf. I hope Petco seriously reconsiders how they handle reptiles and makes immediate changes to ensure no other customer or animal has to go through this. Rafa sold me this tortoise and she needs to be investigated for the care of these animals because she is not doing a good job obviously just from the condition my tortoise was in when i got her august 15th and now my tortoise is dead because of her. read more

This is for the Petco in general ... not necessarily this location .. this company has very shady billing processes ... I paid my bill at 8 pm on evening and was charged a 41.00 late fee. I closed my account when I asked for the charge to be waived .... there is a small blurb on the back of the bill that says it must be paid by 5 pm ... but its not on the late notice on the front of the bill ... this is very sketchy and they are able to garner money when people pay on time but not before 5 pm ... I will NEVER do business with them EVER!! read more

KRISTINA IS THE BEST EMPLOYEE THIS COMPANY HAS! Hands down the best service I have ever received. My wife and I had two 1 month old kittens thrown on us last minute and had absolutely no idea where to start as far as feeding them. When I asked Kristina to tell me where I could find kitten bottles, she stopped in the MIDDLE of her task and said "oh I can show you!" She then proceeded to lead me to the exact spot the bottles were, walked me through my options and explained each one throughly and in complete detail. I swear I learned more from her than my most recent 5 google searches. I decided on the bottle kit, unfortunately I didn't have enough money on my card and it declined. This employee, who doesn't know me from Adam, takes out her card and pays for my bottle kit. I had already taken so much of her time and taken her completely away from her task; when she saw my dismay at not being able to pay, she leapt into action and solved a problem that is quite literally, NOT her job to solve. This will now be the ONLY pet store I shop at and I will ALWAYS check to see if Kristina is available to help me. Thank you Kristina! And Petco, you better not lose Miss Kristina. The aquatics section was full of dead fish and goes to show that the store associates are not following up water maintenance and what they call it as Deadpool which they remove all the dead fish daily from the tanks. My 6 year old son saw all the dead fish and asked me why are the fish dead and it was difficult trying to explain to a 6 year old that store employees were careless and did not bother to keep the fish in optimal conditions. read more

She claimed it was the type of cut we requested but this never happened previously when we got her groomed at petsmart. Also our appointment was for 3pm however she waited to groom our dog last. Im a busy person, but I had to take the time to let others know about the poor service/customer service of this location. The service is subpar and staff are extremely unprofessional. My dog came out injured and it literally brought tears to my eyes. They cut him extremely low, skinned his face up, didn't clean his ears and left patches of hair all over, nails not clipped... the list goes on. I called back to express my frustration & the manager brushed it off and actually hung up in my face. I've learned my lesson and will not give them $150 ever again. I visited this location for the first time last week, since then my dog HAS NOT been the same. Im not sure what methods they use on the dogs to keep them calm when grooming them but i am truly concerned for my dog! He hides in his cage all day, or hides under beds or stays the last place i had him. He no longer follows me through the house or barks at the door. At this point i do not think this is my dog that i have in my home! I do not recommend going here and they should and will be looked into on their methods! read more

The service at Petco is excellent. I was looking for a carrier for my Lhasa Apso to carry on a plane. The lady helping me took the carriers out of their boxes and made sure my dog would comfortably fit. It took several tries. Then I needed a harness when walking her. She again tried several harnesses and adjusted the straps until we found one that was a good fit. It always amazes me at the length Petco employees go out of their way to help you. I certainly don't get that kind of help at other stores. read more

They left my dog there for 3 hours, never called me, had to go to see what was going on. The lady that was grooming him just came from lunch or coffee shop and left my dog while he was ready. She did su h a Terrible job. My dog's hair had patches all over, they left his nails long. I had to go back from my car from them to fix the entite grooming in 15 min. My husband just got back from picking up a small bag of dog food from here and I can't believe the awful experience he just told me about. The girl who checked him out literally huffed upon having to ring him up (in other words do her job), and she was tapping her nails on the counter while helping him. She didn't ask my husband if he'd like a bag and when he asked if he could have one she told him no one asks for bags for dog food. I'm sorry but if you don't like retail and don't like customer service why don't you look in to a different line of work? Went in to buy a fish and small aquarium this afternoon for our one year old and was refused a sale by the manager. We were advised that the general rule of thumb for aquarium/ fish size is 1 gallon of water per 1 inch of fish. We grabbed a 3.5 gallon aquarium and asked for a 2 inch fish but the manager told us she would not be selling us a fish if we bought this specific tank. She claimed she was advocating for the "humanitarian rights" OF THE FISH.... Not sure she knows what humanitarian rights are... we also realized that there were multiple small aquariums on the shelves with an X drawn in sharpie through the word "fish" on the box where it said fish tank.. not sure if this was direction given by corporate, or the initiative of the local employees but either way it seems like dishonest marketing. The ferret cage was covered in poop and looked like it hadn't been clean in a few days. I walk around the store and the only employees I see are holed up in an office having a good time. I have taken 11 year old rescue dog, Nattie, to Carolyn in the grooming salon since I got her 9 years ago. SHE IS FANTASTIC! Nattie is almost glad to see her, even though she knows what is coming next. Carolyn is cheerful, caring, patient, kind and loves my dog. She does an excellent job every time. I have also had my grand-dogs done by other groomers when Carolyn is busy. They have always been cheerful and done an great job. Have been going here weekly since getting our newest puppy. Their employees are worse than shady car salesmen. Every employee has to approach us about their puppy training even tho I repeatedly tell them we are signed up somewhere else. Today one woman was lecturing me on my dog's breed and asking lots of questions about our private trainer. Then the cashier asked me to donate to prevent dog cancer. I had just donated $2 to help homeless pets and he kept holding up the sign and saying "Are you sure? Don't u want to donate to help dogs with cancer??"
