I would 100% not recommend Kevin the groomer.I arrived about 10 minutes late for my appointment and was told he could not accommodate my dog because he had too many dogs scheduled. What made this especially frustrating is that the last time I had an appointment with him, he was approximately 15 minutes late himself.It seemed as if he was looking for a appointment to cancel and he had no problem making it my appointment. When I asked if my appointment was being canceled because I was late, he told me he simply had too many dogs and couldn't take my dog anymore. The interaction felt very dismissive and unprofessional. I found Kevin to be condescending and rude. To make matters worse, I was told there were no other appointments available that day. However, when I checked online afterward, there was an opening at 12:30. I ended up taking my dog to another groomer, they were extremely professional and friendly.Customer service and communication matter, and unfortunately this experience fell far short of expectations. read more

I am writing to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received from Petco's online pharmacy. Due to a series of administrative failures and delays, I have decided to cancel my order and take my business elsewhere. The timeline of my experience is as follows: - Early April: I inadvertently mailed a copy of my prescription rather than the original. - April 20: I mailed the original prescription from California to Oregon. - April 22 & 24: Customer service stated they were still verifying receipt of the prescription. - May 1: I was informed that my auto-ship order had been cancelled. - May 6: Following further contact, I was advised to mail a second original prescription. - May 10: I notified your team that a new original prescription from my veterinarian had been mailed and was told that the request had been "escalated" - May 12: I was again told the request had been "escalated." - May 17: I received an email stating that the supplement is now out of stock. Throughout this process, I repeatedly emphasized the urgency of this medication for my pet's health. After more than a month of delays and conflicting information, being told the item is now unavailable is unacceptable. My puppy had her first ever groom here today and we were told she did incredibly well! She had a bath, brushing, ear cleaning, nail trim and a sanitary shave and she smells so good and is looking so fluffy and nice and I can tell she feels much better too. I got her from the shelter and I tried to give her a bath but she was nervous about it so I gave her a few weeks at my house to get comfortable then decided to take her to the pros. Nevaeh did her services today and she said Birdie did so good and Neveah even took a video of Birdie during the process to show us how well behaved she was! Horrified and extremely disappointed. I dropped off my Maltipoo for a "teddy bear" cut, and the whole job is choppy and uneven. The little round teddy bear face, which should be fluffy and nicely shaped, was hacked up with clippers. They even left a 2-inch patch hanging off his chin, missed because they didn't bathe him beforehand. His tail was shaved and choppy too. It took the groomer half the usual time to do it. When I mentioned I didn't expect him to be done so quickly, she said he was "really good" and ready. He never got a bath--ears have built-up wax, paws are stinky, and he smells awful. The clippers around his face traumatized him, and the overall cut looks rushed and careless. The groomer called to say he was done, then went on a long lunch. When I arrived, she was still unavailable. I was told the manager would call me--but never did. I am beyond disappointed and hope this feedback is taken seriously. read more

We visit every 1-2 months. Generally I try to avoid big chains, but we wandered in here almost two year ago after swiming lessons near by. The first time I was a bit taken aback as the staff called out, "the bearded dragons are here" more exuberantly than my tired parent brain could process. However, since that initial encounter we keep coming back to see the reptiles from Aunt Anna's Reptile Rescue. And we have learned that all of the staff members we have met care deeply about animals. Many of them have adopted reptiles and all are very kind and helpful. Bonus points that they carry Whimzee's Hedgehogs in all sizes, since they are hard to find in stores. They happen to be our dog's favorite treat, especially when they are filled with peanut butter. read more

Brought our 6 month old labradoodle in for grooming, we live in Fairfield but was in the area in Concord so we booked a grooming at this location. The request was to cut her a little shorter than what it was and leave her head a bit fuller. I don't understand where this groomer got this cut from because it is not what I wanted! Do not take your long hair dog to this place! I took my Pomeranian mix to get a hair cut from a groomer named BRIDGET for the first time here. I regret it so much because his haircut looks so choppy as if I had done it myself with no experience. Believe it or not, I am not exaggerating. Absolutely terrible and a waste of $85. I tried to ask them to fix it and even so it's still so bad. It makes me upset to look at him. I knew there was something wrong where every other location was booked for 2 months in advance yet this place had an appointment open everyday. No one wants to bring their dog back to them because they just don't care or even try. I truly believe she must have been hungover or on something because I asked her to make his haircut an inch shorter than the picture I showed her. It turns out she cut his hair to only an inch! First off doing online pickup and having drive up option on the "ready" email should only be there if the phone works. I just went into Concord Petco for a pickup of 2 small Cat items. I went in straight to the register, showed my email confirmation. The cashier checked the cabinet, it wasn't there. She said can someone come unlock some cabinet on a walkie. After about 5min she said I can't be the only 1 working and requested again! So I said, I saw in my email confirmation you have "curbside" but there no stall or parking for it sooooooo? Her response was our phone never works so it's best come in! WHYYYYYYY is it in the email then?!? Come on people make it make sense!! So finally some guy came up, asked my name again as if she didn't provide it. He checked the cabinet looking all over then came bk to me asking my name AGAIN! I still frequent this Petco location, as it's convenient for me with Trader Joe's next door and Sam's Club across the way. Due to Covid, I've been utilizing their online services, such as the curbside pickup. The first few times were okay; you have the option of parking your car in front and calling the store to have an employee bring out your items to you. However, more often then not the phone is busy or they don't answer. So, I usually just walk in to pick up my items. Most recently, I am disappointed with the service and quality of the products. I placed an order online like usual and walked into the store to pick up. After going home, I noticed the dog food I purchased had a small hole and it was expired. No biggie, we're in a middle of a pandemic so maybe it was just overlooked. The staff said I can exchange the food for a new one, but after looking through the products on the shelf, most were also expired. Probably not a big deal to give your dog expired food, but I prefer not to. So, just a heads up to check dates before purchasing/leaving the store! read more

Get vaccines at the shelter. The vaccines cost nominally over cost if the vaccine itself. But it also turns out Rabies vaccines are a fraud. The vaccine itself is the same shot whether they tell you it's a year or three years. The only difference is what they put on the piece of paper. So if you forget or lose that piece of paper, you have to pay it again even tho it is the same shot. When I expressed my shock at the deception, they refused to vax my cat. Anyway, they charge double what the shelter does for vaccines. Go to the shelter. read more

I brought my Dog in to Petco in Concord, like I have at least 40 times before. On this one day I had a new groomer. All the other groomers love by little Boston Terrior, I asked them to please towel dry her due to Dryers cause her to have a seizure at times. Everyone was so happy to this for me. This time I asked the groomer he said ok. I left and came back 15 minutes later and I couldn't believe the groomer for my dog was grooming another dog. I asked inside where is my dog. This guy I didn't know said she is ok, she is in a cage being blow dried! I tried to explain to him that she gets seizures.... He would hear me so I said I would like to take my dog out of there. Clearly the other groomer is working on another dog. I was not happy and asked to take my dog home!!!! The female manager was not happy with me. They pulled my Emma out gave her to me. Then the guy I never met as I was walking out said...so you got a free wash! What a jerk. The manager Referred me out Petco.Meaning I could never return! So I found this new place in Benicia. I was welcomed with open arms, new Place is called Featherer on 5th street. Ok so I have been going here for 8 years at least with out a single problem until I booked a grooming appointment for 9/17@8am- that was interesting in itself? I spoke To a Vicky and she stumbled over her self but we finally got it worked out to where I would be coming in 9/17 at 8 AM to see Kevin for a simple bath and then re book for the following week with my original groomer Kristen super great for the complete groom. I arrived on time only to find that Groomer was late I waited till 8:15 AM was told to come back and I did at 9 AM Vicky was there she instructed me that she was late and that I needed to reschedule and that she was the one to be giving my dog a bath to my big surprise! I couldn't even believe that I would never have someone strange bathe my dog especially knowing she booked the appointment with Kevin but she was late I had to reschedule because she decided she wanted to bathe my dog? So I rushed out to Petco at 8:30 pm because it says they close at 9:00. I get there just in time & they are closed. It's too late now to go to another store & I have no formula to give this newborn kitten who is already so vulnerable already & needs to be given formula every 2 hours. We took our dog here for a grooming on 11/12/22 and he came back looking like they did a hatchet job. They didn't charge us, just said at one point he started getting aggressive so they stopped. He's been to over 30 groomings and that had never happened before. Later, my wife noticed he had a nasty 4 inch abrasion on his underside on and near his sensitive male region. I called the store about this later, and the woman in the department did not take responsibility in the slightest or apologize, although at one point she offered me free cream to apply to the sore. Not ... really what I was looking for. I very much don't suggest taking your dog here for a grooming. Maybe a bris, but even then I'd spend a little extra for a professional. read more

Went here on a couple of occasions and both had been positive visits. The first occasion was that we needed a leash and collar because we were going to dinner at Lazy Dog and forgot to bring ours.
