    Birdie Jane after her groom!
    Sidney S.

My puppy had her first ever groom here today and we were told she did incredibly well! She had a bath, brushing, ear cleaning, nail trim and a sanitary shave and she smells so good and is looking so fluffy and nice and I can tell she feels much better too. I got her from the shelter and I tried to give her a bath but she was nervous about it so I gave her a few weeks at my house to get comfortable then decided to take her to the pros. Nevaeh did her services today and she said Birdie did so good and Neveah even took a video of Birdie during the process to show us how well behaved she was! Definitely recommend her for your pets as well!

i came in PetCo for doggy snacks but i really always pull up to any PetCo to watch and observe all the pets and animals. this PetCo feels smaller, yet you will find all your pet essentials my fav was the doggy haircuts

Horrified and extremely disappointed. I dropped off my Maltipoo for a "teddy bear" cut, and the whole job is choppy and uneven. The little round teddy bear face, which should be fluffy and nicely shaped, was hacked up with clippers. They even left a 2-inch patch hanging off his chin, missed because they didn't bathe him beforehand. His tail was shaved and choppy too. It took the groomer half the usual time to do it. When I mentioned I didn't expect him to be done so quickly, she said he was "really good" and ready. He never got a bath--ears have built-up wax, paws are stinky, and he smells awful. The clippers around his face traumatized him, and the overall cut looks rushed and careless. The groomer called to say he was done, then went on a long lunch. When I arrived, she was still unavailable. I was told the manager would call me--but never did. I am beyond disappointed and hope this feedback is taken seriously.

    After Groomed.

Brought our 6 month old labradoodle in for grooming, we live in Fairfield but was in the area in Concord so we booked a grooming at this location. The request was to cut her a little shorter than what it was and leave her head a bit fuller. I don't understand where this groomer got this cut from because it is not what I wanted! My poor girl looks so bad!!! The pic of her before groomed was taken the day before! I wouldn't recommend coming here. I'd really like a refund, but even expressing my disappointment in this cut the groomer felt like This was acceptable.

    Dirty

Everything! Where is management or regional management? It's bad enough the floors are always dirty, trip hazards throughout the store and please don't go the bathroom, disgusting.

Random long hairs left on his tail

I've had my pup groomed here 3 times and the first 2 were absolute fantastic. I should have made sure to rebook with one of those stylist as today I learned my lesson. I picked my pup up and he looks a bit butchered. I will continue to use this location but I will make sure to stick to one stylist who is good with fluffy dogs

Third time I've come in and noticed that they don't really do a good job at bathing my dog this is after I paid for your cleaning.

First off doing online pickup and having drive up option on the "ready" email should only be there if the phone works. I just went into Concord Petco for a pickup of 2 small Cat items. I went in straight to the register, showed my email confirmation. The cashier checked the cabinet, it wasn't there. She said can someone come unlock some cabinet on a walkie. After about 5min she said I can't be the only 1 working and requested again! So I said, I saw in my email confirmation you have "curbside" but there no stall or parking for it sooooooo? Her response was our phone never works so it's best come in! WHYYYYYYY is it in the email then?!? Come on people make it make sense!! So finally some guy came up, asked my name again as if she didn't provide it. He checked the cabinet looking all over then came bk to me asking my name AGAIN! I said hey if this is too much I'll leave and come back another day! The cashier looked irritated as well as myself. He then checked the same cabinet AGAIN and said oh here it is. I think he left his brain in the back doing whatever took so long to come do his job. First & Last visit!

Wow! I'm impressed with the great care and service by Petco today. We had a 4pm Sunday appointment. I was a few minutes late, but they were able to accommodate me anyway. Our anxious Yorkie dog got an amazing haircut and it didn't take very long at all. Groomer Bridget was fantastic and she even informed me that my dog might have an ear infection. Thank you!

I appreciate the prompt, professional and super friendly grooming services at Petco. My dogs require special services, mainly because they have full coats and they shed so much. Our groomer, Nesta has been amazing, gentle and patient with my two Corgis. They always come back smelling so fresh, trimmed and well-groomed. I trust the groomers here and will return for another grooming appointment soon.

From constant barking at the front door and leash pulling with our Heeler to 'micro-aggressions' between the two of them, our home felt chaotic. The fact that Dan offers in-home training was a huge selling point for us, and over the course of eight weeks, he systematically addressed every single concern we had. Dan's expertise and patience are unmatched. He even helped us navigate our somewhat complicated family dynamics to ensure we were all on the same page. Our dogs are now better versions of themselves--we honestly don't even recognize their old behaviors anymore! If you are looking for a trainer who truly understands dog behavior and delivers results, hire Dan.

He was impossible to take a walk, we could not answer our front door, he terrorized the cats. The best thing about Dan is his method and approach. No prong collars, no harsh methods, no bark collars. He teaches you to "speak dog". He explained how dogs communicate with each other. He helped us understand Wally has anxiety from basically not having boundaries. His tools of choice are your "bark", a squirt bottle and baggie full of water. All gentle but so effective. We have had 3 sessions. The first was some basic commands and behavior corrections. They worked! I could answer my front door without him running out or just going crazy. The 2nd session we got potty training help. Wally had been doing well until our older dog got sick and had accidents. After that he only went in our house. We started using Dan's suggestions. The 3rd session was like magic and the skies opened giving us a new dog. We took Wally on a walk with Dan and he was a different dog. No lunging, no climbing up the leash or going berserk when he sees other dogs. Now he is a pleasure to walk-he heals, he minds us. Potty training is amazing. He has not gone in the house since the last session. Today I was in the yard with our cats. They have a fenced area. Normally Wally would be uncontrollable and trying to get to the cats. Today he just stood there when I corrected him. I cannot recommend Dan and Bark Busters enough. Gentle corrections, simple methods and immediate results. If you do what he says you get an amazing dog.

After I left an honest review about my experience, they responded by threatening to sue both me and a rescue I volunteered with at the time. That alone should raise serious concerns about how they handle accountability. I visited daily for the entire month my dog was there, so what I'm saying is based on what I personally saw over and over again--not a one-time impression. Their "training" methods included physically poking dogs in the side and neck. The dogs did not appear to be properly fed and did not have consistent access to water. Over that month, I watched dogs lose weight, become withdrawn, and show clear signs of stress and shutdown behavior. I also personally saw a dog who was extremely underweight, had visible sores, and smelled strongly of urine and feces, as if she had been left sitting in it. No dog should ever be in that condition--especially in a place people are paying to care for and train their animals. It honestly concerns me that they still have positive reviews, because in my experience, the longer a dog stays there, the more concerning the changes become. I'm posting this again now because someone I know recently considered bringing a foster dog there. I made it very clear that no dog in my care will ever go anywhere near this place. If you care about your dog, do your research, ask questions, and trust what you see. I would strongly urge anyone considering this facility to visit frequently and unannounced.

No judgements- Lily came alive with tail wags and enthusiasm to be back at such a supportive rescue group. She was just basking in the attention and love. She passed her behavior test with flying colors. We were told she most likely will be going to a foster home first for a few weeks before she's available for adoption. I had two new kittens that I took in as a foster, but of course my family and I fell in love with them and kept them. Everyone was so nice and although there was a lot of people there taking advantage of the free services, they communicated effectively and everything was organized and not chaotic. I joined their mailing list and found out about their next event in Richmond. The kittens and I went down there to get their second kitten shots and cat food, for free! I got on the waiting list for low cost spay and neuter clinic. Friendly staff, nicely organized. I was suprised when I got the call from them for the neutering appts quicker than expected! We made Christmas donations for both cat and dog items that they matched! And we got our large dog some Christmas Jammie's on clearance for $5. Boutique was well priced, my husband got a Joybound hat! So onto the animas they had there! First we passed the cats. All of them cuddling in super nice beds, they had nice toys, scratch pads, colorful wallpaper in their individual rooms, information sheets on each door for each pet. The dogs had the same, nice fuzzy beds, toys, little slots to give them treats down this tube. So cute!! I typically can't look at shelter pets because I feel so bad for them. These animas all looked happy and very well taken care of! There was staff walking around regularly checking in on people since they had adoption available. I asked a few questions they were able to answer no problem! They seemed very caring and committed to the animals and putting their best foot forward in helping the get homes. Building super clean, staff super nice, animas all cozy. Overall, we have a great opinion of Joybound with all these diverse experiences we've had with them. The people are so nice and welcoming. We're so grateful for them and the help they provided my kittens, saved us a ton of money!!! And for all they do, thank you!!!!!!

I cannot say enough about Brad Wilhelm and the incredible work he did with my Cavalier puppy,…read moreOlivia. At just 6 months old, Olivia was exhibiting serious resource guarding and aggressive behavior -- to the point where I was afraid to get close to her and she actually bit me once. I've had seven dogs in my lifetime and had never experienced anything like this before. Cavaliers are known for being loving, gentle dogs, so having an 11-pound puppy that I felt nervous around was heartbreaking. I truly wasn't sure Olivia and I would ever have a good relationship again. I was scheduled to travel to Mexico over Christmas but couldn't take her due to her behavior. Brad went above and beyond -- he kindly arranged to pick her up the very night I left on a red-eye flight and enrolled her in a 4-week board-and-train bootcamp. Yes, the program is an investment, but it is absolutely worth every penny. Brad and Camille worked their magic. Olivia came back a completely different puppy -- loving, responsive, and happy. It honestly feels like night and day. I know I still need to do my homework and stay consistent, but just one week after her return, the transformation has been incredible. One thing I really appreciate is the ongoing support. Brad offers unlimited texts and calls for questions and guidance, which has been invaluable as we continue reinforcing her training at home. This also wasn't my first experience with Brad. He was recommended to us years ago when we got our older dog, a yellow Labrador named Bourbon. While Bourbon has always been mellow, Brad helped us with practical training -- including teaching him to jump into my sedan in less than 10 minutes! That stuck with me and is why I trusted him when we needed serious help with Olivia. Brad once told me that good training makes dogs happier, and now I truly understand what he meant. Olivia is more confident, more relaxed, and clearly happier -- and so am I. I wholeheartedly recommend Brad to anyone dealing with behavioral issues or simply looking for solid obedience training. His knowledge, patience, and genuine care make all the difference. I am incredibly grateful for the impact he and Camille have had on both Olivia and me.

Every now and again Brad's facility will take in rescue dogs who will undergo the full board and train program. I was lucky enough to be able to adopt Tarkin, a a cattle dog mix. I believe he had been under the care of Brad and his team for almost (maybe more?) a year but did not have much like in finding a potential adopter until I saw a post on Instagram and reached out. Right off the bat, Tarkin was very well behaved, knew the basic commands (sit, down-stay, leave it, wait, place, etc). Brad even provided a collar to continue with his training, was responsive via text MONTHS after adoption, and would always offer to come by for a follow-up training session. Fortunately, we have not needed an in-person session, but to be able to continue having him as resource by phone has been amazing and I am so grateful. Brad and Camille (Tarkin's other main trainer) have created such a wonderful foundation of training that I've been able to build off of, even as a new dog owner. Given my experience with Tarkin, I would highly recommend reaching out to Brad and his team about potential rescues available for adoption, or to see what training packages they have to offer. I couldn't have asked for a better first dog!

Groomer: Ruby Location: Petsmart Concord Ca…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. I brought my dog Benny in for a simple maintenance cut and bath. His hair was long, and we specifically like to keep him fluffy. I showed the groomer a photo of the exact style we wanted -- a fluffy "teddy bear" cut -- and clearly stated that if they could not achieve that look, to please keep his hair long. I dropped Benny off at 9:30 a.m. and was told to return in one hour, which is typical for his usual groomer. When I called an hour later (after realizing I had missed my other dog Teddy's appointment and apologizing to the groomer scheduled for both dogs), they weren't even finished with Benny. I assumed the delay meant extra care was being taken. Benny was not ready until 1:45 p.m. -- over four hours later. When my husband picked him up, he looked like a completely different dog. His hair was completely cut off. It looked nothing like the photo I provided and was nowhere near the fluffy teddy bear cut I requested. It was extremely disappointing. What concerns me even more is Benny's behavior afterward. He is almost one year old and has been groomed regularly since he was a puppy. He is normally energetic, confident, and affectionate. When my husband picked him up, he was shaking and visibly nervous. Even two days later, he seems timid and withdrawn -- which is very unlike him. It makes me question how he was treated during those four hours. I understand that grooming salons get busy. However, communication and following clear instructions are basic expectations. I left my dog there trusting he would be cared for properly. This cut cost $110 -- more than the $85 I typically pay at a private boutique groomer who consistently does an excellent job. The quality did not reflect the price. I will not be returning. I only booked here because our regular groomer did not have availability that day. That was a mistake I will not repeat. Very disappointed.
