Diesel has been coming here for 5 years, our dog, he is a German shepherd, basset hound and golden retriever mix. We are always happy with the work they do. We wash our dog the night before and it saves a few dollars and it helps them cut him well. I keep coming back because I'm happy with the cut, how comfortable my dog feels, the timing seems appropriate and the price is average for the area. The only complaint is that sometimes diesel smells like cat urine when he returns but I can't fault them they're working with animals. Often we just wash him again when he gets home. Not a big deal. I love that I found such a great place near my home area of Clayton CA! read more

I've been taking my dog to TLC for 4 years since we moved to clayton and before my last experience I was happy with them. Today, my lab/chow mix dog had an appointment at 11:30am. Two hours later I get a call and I answer thinking Roxy is ready for pickup. Instead, Sherri starts griping about how my dog is too dirty and her hair is too thick (she's a chow mix) and that she's broken blades shaving her and it's not worth her time to groom my dog. She also asks me what I've been charged in the past and says that I will be charged more this time. Enethical business practice to tell me the cost has increased after the fact and incredibly unprofessional and rude how she handled the interaction. If you're going to be in the service industry learn how to treat your customers. Will never be going back to this place! I'll find someone that treats me and my animal with more respect. read more

This was my third visit to TLC Pet Grooming. The first 2 were awesome. This one NOT SO MUCH!!! My pet's appointment lasted 1 & 1/2 hours. When I picked up my pet, her nails were NOT clipped, she did not smell like she had been bathed, and her hair cut left much to be desired (it looks like the back end of my pet was not groomed - long shaggy hair left to her behind quarters). I was not able to do a visual on my pet before leaving the business. I would have returned for Danielle to finish the grooming job but we unfortunately were going out of town the next day. Needless to say, I am very upset and frustrated with this experience and would definitely reconsider recommending her services. read more

Not recommended. Took my little guy there, had to leave him for 3 hours. They told me they would call when he was done but I never got a call. I called them & they then said "he's been done for a while". Paid $55 and the cut was sloppy; long stray hairs around all 4 paws & ears that I had to cut when I got home. I expect prompt, professional service with good communication when I pay top dollar. Sadly, they offer none of the above. read more

I've taken my two beagles here a few times for nail trims. One of them is 16 and he is very fragile, but I've felt completely comfortable with Sherry and her daughter taking care of him. Our other beagle is younger & super hyper and hard to control- but she made the nail trim look easy! My in-laws brought in their two dogs for grooming- a maltese and a pappilon- while they were here from Florida for a visit. The maltese came out looking like a new dog- the best groom I think he's ever had! My mother-in-law was thrilled. They did a great job with the pappilon too! We've been in Clayton just over a year and started taking our Boston Terriers there for nail grooming. Shari and her daughters always do a wonderful job and are so sweet with them. She was also so helpful about giving me tips about Clayton and the surrounding area. We are there every six weeks or so for our nail grooming and they love their "pedicures." They even like Shari's cats, which is surprising, because they don't like the neighboring cats in our yard! :) read more

This is the best place to take your animal. I take my Sheltie there and they do a fantastic job; even better than his vet did while she was staying at their kennel. I've been taking my 2 Aussies to Sheri for years and I can't ask for a better groomer! My dogs are very active field dogs that happen to be really pretty with double coats that get full of burs and can mat. My dogs love her, she is good with them. The cuts I request vary depending on the time of year and the activity of my dogs. Sheri makes excellent recommendations based on the season. The many compliments I get are icing on the cake. We took our cocker spaniel to TLC for grooming. They did a fabulous job, she looks great. We will take her there again next time.

I take my 3 dogs to TLC and have always had great service. They are very caring and considerate of any issues the dog may have. Two of my dogs are greyhound rescue and one had a broken leg when we recieved him(from the race track). They have been very kind to him. read more

My wife had a bad experience here. We brought our little dog for a groom and the groomer didn't finish. She was 2 hours late, and she was unnecessarily rude. Although she did not finish (she didn't even touch his head or feet), she said we had to pay the full price (an outrageous $55, which is more than other groomers we've been to) in order to get our dog back. Afterwards, my wife wrote a negative review and it was mysteriously taken down. Interestingly, two positive reviews magically appeared immediately thereafter. I found her service completely unsatisfactory, and I was saddened that she did not stand behind her product. We will never go back here. I would encourage other people to likewise avoid TLC Pet Grooming. read more

Well...I took my dog there because of the good reviews, but I'm so upset looking how bad job they have done on him. I can believe it! He looks really bad. Even his ears look so funny the way they cut them. Also, Shari said to me on the phone between 45 to 55 dollars, but when my husband pick up our dog they charge him $60., cash of course because today her cc machine broke! Why she charge us more of what she said? Not idea, because he has clippers marks everywhere. My dog is a Cocker spaniel, I asked her to shave the top of the ears and leave the bottom fluffy, but they cut the length as well. Everybody know that Cocker Spaniel has long ears, right? Well mine now looks like a chihuahua. They were no busy at all but they ask me to bring him at 1pm and they called me to pick up at 6pm. The cages were very small and I was always worry about my dog waiting there for such a long time! Yelpers, come on, think twice before to write a good review to a business that do not deserve it. read more
