We just took our Maltese mix to LaunderMutt for the first time today and I couldn't be happier! I have been to over 7+ groomers in the area over the last 2 years and am so pleased with how our first appointment went! Our pup is a Maltese/ Low Chen mix and was super grown out as well as having some shaved spots from a vet procedure not too long ago but she came back home with a nice even cut! I am looking forward to bringing her back again!

So happy we found Laundermutt to get our Maine Coon (cat), Mendelssohn groomed! We had been driving 15 miles to a groomer. The last two times, he urinated in his crate the minute we entered the store. He came home very stressed. Have seen Laundermutt when we go to Trader Joe's and Dean's Shoe Repair in Concord. Called and was happy to hear they also groom cats! He went today. No stress. No mess in his crate. Lauri, the owner did a great job! He looks awesome... so handsome! ! He hadn't been to a groomer in nearly a year, so he had a lot of hair! SO happy to have found Laundermutt. Staff was friendly, reassuring, and professional. Thank you, Lauri/Laundermutt! I brought my 17 year old Chow Chow in for a bath & trim. She was pretty matted and needed a nail trim. Like most people, I was concerned leaving her with a groomer, especially at her age. Would they be patient and gentle? When I picked her up, she happily trotted out looking like she just popped out of the clothes dryer. Super fluffy & clean. I know she enjoyed her spa day because she was in no hurry to leave and was just genuinely happy. This dog who will usually try and bolt through the door when leaving the Vet was wanting to hang out with these lovely ladies at LaunderMutt. We will definitely be back.

We don't have our Geman Shepherd groomed, but we do have him bathed and brushed here. Nail trim too. Yesterday's bill was $50.00. Well worth it after the past weekend's close-encounter with a skunk! His nails came back to us pretty long still, but they are very dark and it's hard to see how short you can get them. I've seen them cut much shorter though, but they were still okay. Pepper came home happy and relaxed, which was saying a lot only 24 hours after all the 4th of July fireworks we heard around the neighborhood. He was shaking all night of the 4th so I was wary to drop him off on the 5th with strangers, but he loves the girls here and they definitely do something to make him comfortable and happy. I always remind him that he's a 16 year old dog - and they are extra gentle. It can take a little time to get an appointment if you need full grooming/trim services, but if you just want a bath for your baby, it's probably only a day wait (and I believe they also have DIY services available, so we just went in and got his rabies certificate so that we can have that option here too if we want!)

I can't say enough good things about Laundermutt in Concord! The groomers here are not only incredibly skilled, but you can truly tell they care about the animals they work with. From the moment we walked in, they made my pup feel safe and loved -- no stress, no rushing, just genuine attention and kindness. They take their time getting to know each dog, and it shows in how comfortable and happy the animals are during and after their appointments. My neighbor recommended LaunderMutt and I'm so glad because I won't take my pup anymore else now! They are always so great with my mini goldendoodle. A full groom, cut, shampoo, nail trim takes about 1.5 hours. It's enough time to run an errand or two and coke right back. My pup happily goes in every time. The price is competitive with others but I think they're more attentive and do a better job faster. read more

We are temporarily in the area and had a need to have one dog cared for by a groomer. I called in the morning and left a message. LaunderMutt called back, had me in shortly and cared for our pet. They did a wonderful job. Plus, they explained to me how to manage our dog for nail trimming. The fee was very reasonable considering the complete grooming and care services provided. We are very happy with the services by LaunderMutt. read more

We just took our Maltese mix to LaunderMutt for the first time today and I couldn't be happier! I used to love this place and thought I finally found a place I can take my goldendoodle. The young lady was really good I requested her but for some reason this older blond lady groomed her this time and charged me $30 more than my usual and said that she needed to be paid for her time because it took a long time to brush her and that my dog grew since last time (she is 2 years old) plus she said she is 10 more pounds than she is when I told her she is 2 and hasn't grown since the last time and she is 20 pounds, she told me that everywhere else cost the same or more if I call around (she charged $90 for 20 pound goldendoodle) and that they raised prices. So I guess I'll be going to the "other places" that cost $90 or more from now on. so disappointed. read more

High five and big thank you to Sooner at Laundermutt. She worked both dogs on very short notice after our other groomer cancelled at the last minute. Not only accommodating and really nice, but she did a fantastic job. Sky is a Maltese/Heinz57 shedding machine with a short/long, wire/straight, stiff/soft coat...the poster child for a bad hair day. After an hour with Sooner, she came home smelling delicious with her chaotic coat feeling soft and silky. We're going back in 6 weeks for more of the same. read more

I took my husky, Luna, to be groomed here. She has never been groomed before and I wondered how she would do, but it was a fantastic experience! The young woman who took Luna was very nice and said she would take the time with Luna to make her comfortable since it was her first visit here. Upon pick up, Luna looked like a sweet, soft, clean husky angel The groomer said she did very well and that Luna was a sweetie. She even trimmed her nails, which I was sure would never happen because she hates having her paws touched. I can't recommend this place enough. I suspect my husky enjoyed her time here and the attention she received, even though it involved being washed. The groomers are so nice, I imagine all their pet clients adore them :) read more

After years of being a customer, I never knew what poor groomer she is. She traumatized my 15 month old Schnauzer and told me no one would groom him. After research, I found that she has a poor reputation and she always shaved my dog telling me that he was too matted to otherwise groom. I heard that this was because she didn't want to take the time to groom him properly. I took the dog to Petco on Ignacio Valley road and found a very professional and expert groomer who groomed my pup without shaving all of his hair off and it took only one and one half hours. Laudermutt had kept my dog 6 HOURS. The dog looks beautiful and came home happy. I recommend Petco. read more

My son brought our 2 newly adopted ShihTzus for wash and trim. When they came home - I didn't really see much difference before and after the grooming session. Their faces we're not trimmed properly - like around their mouths and nose area. The area around their butts did not get trimmed at all which is really important for breeds like Shih Tzus so when they go potty - the poop doesn't get caught in their hair. This is our first time to try this shop and I don't think we're coming back. I used to bring our dogs to Groomingdales and the so such a good job with all breeds but they're now closed - I'm sure the owner Jill retired. read more

I have been taking my dogs to LaunderMutt for quite a few years . Always a good experience. Now that they are both seniors, they require a little more attention and patience. Sherri was their groomer until last year when Sooner started taking care of them. She is wonderful: patient, gentle and very efficient. We all love her and the great service at this doggie salon. Update: LaunderMutt (and Sooner)is still the best grooming salon in the area. read more

I dropped off my dogs at 9am and didn't get a call until 5pm, when they close. The lady is very nice but she definitely does not know how to groom Maltese type dogs. I asked to not shave my dogs and that I would like about at least 2 inches kept and just a trim around the face. I knew one of my dogs had matts so she said she would do what she can. Fair enough. I thought by 3pm at the latest my dogs would be ready, and I got no call, so around 3:30 I called and asked the status of my dogs. They told me that they've been busy and they've washed and blow dried my dogs and that they are next to be groomed. So for 6 1/2 hours my dogs have only been washed and blow dried which makes no sense to me. Poor things are just cooped up in a cage. I knew they close at 5 so I was worried to see what she would do in an hour and a half with 2 dogs and I'm not even sure what time they really hit the grooming table. When I picked them up, they were both completely shaven and many parts were uneven. She told me that the matts were too close to the skin and that's the only choice she had, which is why I said she does not know how to groom dogs like mine. It sounds to me like she was just pressed for time. I've taken my Maltese to groomers before with the same matts and they did a much better job. Even if the matts were too close to the skin and she really had to shave my dogs down, it should not have taken 8 hours to do so. I honestly think I could have done a better job myself. It definitely was not worth $100 and I will not be coming back. I do not recommend this place to anyone with a long haired dog that needs grooming. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Let me first start off by saying that I am sure every pet owner has been in this position (or not) and that is something happens with the groomer you first started your puppy out with just to see them retire, or move away or something...So that was my case. My regular groomer disappeared and I was at the mercy at whomever I picked for my two dogs to be groomed. I took a chance on this place and dropped my dogs off on Saturday around 10:45. I was not greeted and she didn't ask my name. Two people were ahead of me and the lady seemed rushed and just trying to get us out of shop. She asked me how I wanted my dogs cut. I told her just to trim them up, shape their faces and paws, grind the nails etc (basic shampoo and cut) I did not want them to be shaved or skinned. I did not want the ears chopped and then when you see the mistake, just keep cutting. I did not ask for for his tail to be totally cut off and made to look like a furry worm. What groomer does that? The haircut is soooo bad and every time I look at him I feel bad, because no groomer has ever messed up this bad on my dog. I will ever bring my dogs here again and I caution anyone else who does. read more

We have brought our dogs to Lauri & her girls 3 times now and have had only the very best experiences for our Marley & Mandy! They are nearly two years old & we had tried two other local grooming places before we finally found Laundermutt... they didn't even come close to the beautiful job! Also it's very important to us that our fur babies are treated well. They take their time grooming, our dogs leave as happy as they arrived and look amazing! read more

Lauri, Sherry and staff are truly the BEST in the business! I have been a customer of theirs for over 7 years and have received superior service every time! When I moved to the area, it was stressful trying to find a groomer that I could trust with my fur baby (my girl at the time was 12 years old). There was no way I was going to leave her with anyone that didn't treat her with the utmost respect and care. I was recommended to Lauri and her amazing staff and it was like the heavens parted! From the first experience on, I completely and wholeheartedly trust them with my girl. They are all kind, gentle, loving, safe, sincere, reasonable and wonderful with their cuts. My newest family members (Lhasa Vanity and Shih Tzu Appy) love going there and they always look so beautiful when I pick them up. Alert Dog Abusers!!!! Dog owners should know!!! If I could give negative stars I sure would. Terrible horrible place. I'd just gotten my 16week old puppy shih tzu and he was in need of grooming and so did my 9year old shih tzu at the time so I scheduled an appt on a Sunday I thought great brought them in at the agreed time and signed my name in. This was no appt my poor dogs were put in a queue with a lone TERRIBLE groomer she caged them for four hours with no water. You don't put a puppy and an older dog in those conditions!!! How did I know this when I got them they were lethargic and when we got home (2min travel time) they drank water for quite a while. I had to argue with this (Sherry or to that effect) woman just to get my dogs back needless to say I did not allow her to touch my dogs any further I should have called the police she was keeping them hostage after I wanted to take them home. She said she gave them a bath but I beg to differ it looked as if they were just wet down they smelled awful. She made me pay for that sketchy service to get them back $30. She then had the audacity to try to scold me about my 16week old puppy being matted.. No duh I just got him and that's why we're here. If you love your dogs like I do leave this place and take them elsewhere otherwise they'll abuse your dog. This woman has no business calling herself a dog groomer. I added a picture of what she did to his anus This is what she did to my 16 week old puppy's butt she sheared his anus after I was screaming at her to unhand my dog and give them back to me. He was bleeding for a while needing to be seen by the vet this traumatic experience not only physically hurt him to sit or go to the bathroom it emotionally hurt both of my dogs and it took a long time for either of them to be ok about groomers again. read more

Established in 1994.

I started in the Grooming business at 8 years old. Always loving animals so my parents made arrangements for me to visit a local grooming shop a couple of times a week. The owner took me under her wing and showed me at a young age my way around a grooming shop. I knew at that time I wanted to be a great dog groomer when I grew up...maybe, hopefully even own my own shop! My dream came true in 1997 when I became the owner of Laundermutt. Many years of working as a pet groomer for all kinds of places, from Mom and Pop grooming shops to corporate run grooming establishments. I learned quickly through my experiences what I did and didn't want to bring to my own grooming shop. I am really proud of what Laundermutt's gentle/caring staff have created and our ethical treatment of pets and their people is my dream shop come true.

Over 30 years experience grooming both cats and dogs! Very passionate about providing quality and ethical pet grooming. Currently raises Australian Shepherds. Had 15 years experience raising, showing Abyssinian cats. Enjoys working with pet rescues. Proud of Laundermutt's long term loyal employees, Sherry, (over 5 years at Laundermutt) and Eve (over 7 years at Laundermutt,hablas espanol?) as well as our new comer Cecilia (6 months on the job!)

What should have been a basic $75 bath and clean-up--not even a full haircut--left my dog with multiple visible cuts all over his belly. To make matters worse, management took zero responsibility for what are clearly clipper burns/cuts, and instead blamed me for 'not being happy with the service.' When a client's dog is injured and likely in pain during their appointment, you apologize and coach your staff--you don't blame the owner. We will be taking our business elsewhere, and I strongly recommend others do the same.

Since the new owners took over, that level of care and customer service just hasn't been the same. I stayed loyal despite having my appointments canceled or rescheduled multiple times due to illness or scheduling conflicts. Each time, I was understanding because I know life happens. The one time I was running late, however, there was zero flexibility or willingness to accommodate me. It's disappointing when the understanding only goes one way. Loyalty should be a two-way street. Customer service isn't just about grooming dogs--it's about how you treat the people who support your business. Unfortunately, I no longer feel valued here and will be taking my business elsewhere. I will say they are good at what they do, but the fees are a little excessive. From day care fees, late drop off fee, special handling fee for Nail trim. The full package including special handling fee is 120, then got charged 20 for a late pick up fee and a 10 dollar fee for long nails but they did take care of me by not charging a late drop off fee, so the total came out to 150.Would I recommend? Yes, if your dog is pretty calm and if you could reserve a couple hours of your day to ensure you drop/ pick up in a timely manner. Other than that they do get your dog looking good when you pick up.

This place SUCKS! We brought our dog to get nails done and wash only. But the lady who was working there cut his hair anyhow. Not only did we tell her NOT to cut him, but she cut him and did a horrible job. honestly, i dont think this lady even knows what she is doing. So, now our dog look terrible, and we dont know how to fix him. she cut all his face hair off, shaved his stomach, and the hair was not evenly cut. she even cut all the hair off his feet!!! we are so bummed. we will never take him there, and we dont recommend this place at all. when i asked her why she cut him, she said that is the way we do things here. The wash even sucked, as he had hair falling out all over the place. They didnt even blow off the cut hair, and it got all over our clothes and car. So now, we need to find another groomer and hopefully he will look normal the way he should be soon. But anyhow, thanks Laurie another lady who working there to tried to fix him even he doesn't look the same. But nothing else we can do! Avoid this place, as they dont listen to what you tell them. One day I was at the dog park, and this nice guy started talking about his groomer. Really that good?, I said. Because I just can't find a good one anywhere. He directed me to Laundermutt. And, I owe him a debt of gratitude. I have two Havanese puppies. Havanese? Yes, these are little dogs with long "hair" that need constant brushing. Which, I never ever do. Laundermutt somehow managed to clean these little guys up, trim them perfectly, make them smell sweet as molasses, and they didn't have to shave them to get the mats out. They came home fluffy and happy. A Miracle! I have been back again for just baths. And, I will continue to go. And the bandanas, my little boy puppies love the stylish comment that isn't the standard little bow! read more

This place is absolutely horrid. They were 15 min late to open. I took my cat here to get it groomed and we went back to check on her 30 min later, they told us it would take all day and to come pick her up at 5pm. We left out of town to go visit some friends that lived 30 miles away. They called back right as we pulled in to our friends house and told us we had to pick her up because she was too stressed out. I would never go here, EVER!! read more

I took my dog to this place because I've seen on yelp that they got good reviews. But they don't do a good job. The wash sucked, as he had hair falling out all over the place. They didn't even blow off the hair after they cut him, and it got all over our clothes. The nails was really sharp! Looking for new groomer now. read more
