So happy we found Laundermutt to get our Maine Coon (cat), Mendelssohn groomed! We had been driving 15 miles to a groomer. I used to love this place and thought I finally found a place I can take my goldendoodle. The young lady was really good I requested her but for some reason this older blond lady groomed her this time and charged me $30 more than my usual and said that she needed to be paid for her time because it took a long time to brush her and that my dog grew since last time (she is 2 years old) plus she said she is 10 more pounds than she is when I told her she is 2 and hasn't grown since the last time and she is 20 pounds, she told me that everywhere else cost the same or more if I call around (she charged $90 for 20 pound goldendoodle) and that they raised prices. So I guess I'll be going to the "other places" that cost $90 or more from now on. so disappointed. read more

High five and big thank you to Sooner at Laundermutt. She worked both dogs on very short notice after our other groomer cancelled at the last minute. Not only accommodating and really nice, but she did a fantastic job. Sky is a Maltese/Heinz57 shedding machine with a short/long, wire/straight, stiff/soft coat...the poster child for a bad hair day. After an hour with Sooner, she came home smelling delicious with her chaotic coat feeling soft and silky. We're going back in 6 weeks for more of the same. read more

I brought my 17 year old Chow Chow in for a bath & trim. She was pretty matted and needed a nail trim. Like most people, I was concerned leaving her with a groomer, especially at her age. Would they be patient and gentle? When I picked her up, she happily trotted out looking like she just popped out of the clothes dryer. Super fluffy & clean. I know she enjoyed her spa day because she was in no hurry to leave and was just genuinely happy. We don't have our Geman Shepherd groomed, but we do have him bathed and brushed here. Nail trim too. Yesterday's bill was $50.00. Well worth it after the past weekend's close-encounter with a skunk! His nails came back to us pretty long still, but they are very dark and it's hard to see how short you can get them. I've seen them cut much shorter though, but they were still okay. Pepper came home happy and relaxed, which was saying a lot only 24 hours after all the 4th of July fireworks we heard around the neighborhood. He was shaking all night of the 4th so I was wary to drop him off on the 5th with strangers, but he loves the girls here and they definitely do something to make him comfortable and happy. I always remind him that he's a 16 year old dog - and they are extra gentle. It can take a little time to get an appointment if you need full grooming/trim services, but if you just want a bath for your baby, it's probably only a day wait (and I believe they also have DIY services available, so we just went in and got his rabies certificate so that we can have that option here too if we want!) read more

After years of being a customer, I never knew what poor groomer she is. She traumatized my 15 month old Schnauzer and told me no one would groom him. After research, I found that she has a poor reputation and she always shaved my dog telling me that he was too matted to otherwise groom. I heard that this was because she didn't want to take the time to groom him properly. I took the dog to Petco on Ignacio Valley road and found a very professional and expert groomer who groomed my pup without shaving all of his hair off and it took only one and one half hours. Laudermutt had kept my dog 6 HOURS. The dog looks beautiful and came home happy. I recommend Petco. read more

I took my husky, Luna, to be groomed here. She has never been groomed before and I wondered how she would do, but it was a fantastic experience! The young woman who took Luna was very nice and said she would take the time with Luna to make her comfortable since it was her first visit here. Upon pick up, Luna looked like a sweet, soft, clean husky angel The groomer said she did very well and that Luna was a sweetie. She even trimmed her nails, which I was sure would never happen because she hates having her paws touched. I can't recommend this place enough. I suspect my husky enjoyed her time here and the attention she received, even though it involved being washed. The groomers are so nice, I imagine all their pet clients adore them :) read more

My son brought our 2 newly adopted ShihTzus for wash and trim. When they came home - I didn't really see much difference before and after the grooming session. Their faces we're not trimmed properly - like around their mouths and nose area. The area around their butts did not get trimmed at all which is really important for breeds like Shih Tzus so when they go potty - the poop doesn't get caught in their hair. This is our first time to try this shop and I don't think we're coming back. I used to bring our dogs to Groomingdales and the so such a good job with all breeds but they're now closed - I'm sure the owner Jill retired. read more

I dropped off my dogs at 9am and didn't get a call until 5pm, when they close. The lady is very nice but she definitely does not know how to groom Maltese type dogs. I asked to not shave my dogs and that I would like about at least 2 inches kept and just a trim around the face. I knew one of my dogs had matts so she said she would do what she can. Fair enough. I thought by 3pm at the latest my dogs would be ready, and I got no call, so around 3:30 I called and asked the status of my dogs. They told me that they've been busy and they've washed and blow dried my dogs and that they are next to be groomed. So for 6 1/2 hours my dogs have only been washed and blow dried which makes no sense to me. Poor things are just cooped up in a cage. I knew they close at 5 so I was worried to see what she would do in an hour and a half with 2 dogs and I'm not even sure what time they really hit the grooming table. When I picked them up, they were both completely shaven and many parts were uneven. She told me that the matts were too close to the skin and that's the only choice she had, which is why I said she does not know how to groom dogs like mine. It sounds to me like she was just pressed for time. I've taken my Maltese to groomers before with the same matts and they did a much better job. Even if the matts were too close to the skin and she really had to shave my dogs down, it should not have taken 8 hours to do so. I honestly think I could have done a better job myself. It definitely was not worth $100 and I will not be coming back. I do not recommend this place to anyone with a long haired dog that needs grooming. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Let me first start off by saying that I am sure every pet owner has been in this position (or not) and that is something happens with the groomer you first started your puppy out with just to see them retire, or move away or something...So that was my case. My regular groomer disappeared and I was at the mercy at whomever I picked for my two dogs to be groomed. I took a chance on this place and dropped my dogs off on Saturday around 10:45. I was not greeted and she didn't ask my name. Two people were ahead of me and the lady seemed rushed and just trying to get us out of shop. She asked me how I wanted my dogs cut. I told her just to trim them up, shape their faces and paws, grind the nails etc (basic shampoo and cut) I did not want them to be shaved or skinned. I did not want the ears chopped and then when you see the mistake, just keep cutting. I did not ask for for his tail to be totally cut off and made to look like a furry worm. What groomer does that? The haircut is soooo bad and every time I look at him I feel bad, because no groomer has ever messed up this bad on my dog. I will ever bring my dogs here again and I caution anyone else who does. read more
