Alert Dog Abusers!!!! Dog owners should know!!! If I could give negative stars I sure would. Terrible horrible place. I'd just gotten my 16week old puppy shih tzu and he was in need of grooming and so did my 9year old shih tzu at the time so I scheduled an appt on a Sunday I thought great brought them in at the agreed time and signed my name in. This was no appt my poor dogs were put in a queue with a lone TERRIBLE groomer she caged them for four hours with no water. You don't put a puppy and an older dog in those conditions!!! How did I know this when I got them they were lethargic and when we got home (2min travel time) they drank water for quite a while. I had to argue with this (Sherry or to that effect) woman just to get my dogs back needless to say I did not allow her to touch my dogs any further I should have called the police she was keeping them hostage after I wanted to take them home. She said she gave them a bath but I beg to differ it looked as if they were just wet down they smelled awful. She made me pay for that sketchy service to get them back $30. She then had the audacity to try to scold me about my 16week old puppy being matted.. No duh I just got him and that's why we're here. If you love your dogs like I do leave this place and take them elsewhere otherwise they'll abuse your dog. This woman has no business calling herself a dog groomer. I'm cheap and my dog isn't exactly the type to need a professional grooming, so it's usually DIY all the way. DIY home grooming involves hosing down an alternatively angry and miserable mutt, chasing her across the muddy backyard, getting soaked in mucky water, and trying to snip away a bit of hair as she's snapping back at the scissors. Tiresome? Yes. I guess my mom got tired of the mess and it's mediocre outcome, because she took my Lucy over to Laundermutt for a professional do. My once scruffy mutt came home looking like a over-sized hairless chihuahua, complete with frillly red ribbons tied upon her ears. Those were swiped off within seconds. The change was so drastic that our neighbors actually asked if we'd gotten a new pet? I have to admit that even with the shortness, Laundermutt did an excellent job and the groomers were incredibly nice too. They were able to handle Lucy's under-socialized personalty with ease and she felt completely comfortable with them. And after hearing all of those horror stories about traumatized dogs, it was a relief to retrieve Lucy and find her usual rambunctious self. Her hair has since grown out nicely, and we've decided to make Laundermutt a somewhat regular occurrence, at least for the times when the Lucy really needs it. I am a first time puppy parent (adorable Goldendoodle) and I decided to give this place a try. When I walked in, my spidey sense told me to leave, but I ignored it due to her dire need for a trim and her nail clipped. I was really upset when they said they would call for me to pick her up at 5, but they didn't have her finished until 6:30. Looking at the general reviews for pet groomers, I suppose that is a common occurrence. When I got there, Roxie (my Goldendoodle) walked up to me and I didn't know who she was. They obviously didn't (1) listen to my instructions to just trim the hair off her eyes for the head and (2) don't know the breeds very well to completely give her a Poodle cut. After I expressed my disapproval, the lady there charged me $80. That is more than twice I pay for my haircut. Aside from the expensive, bad hair cut I am more horrified that they obviously DRUGGED my dog. I know that Roxie is a puppy and bounces around like one, but who gives dogs DRUGS without the owner's permission?! She was so listless for the rest of the night and couldn't quite get her footing right. She still isn't quite right and it has been a day or so. Looking at her trim again today, it's so uneven around the face. You can see the uneven strokes they used to shave her. The body is generally nice (which is why it isn't a 1 star review. They also put an adorable bow on her collar, which was a nice touch. ) There are also scratches and red marks all over her tummy. So unless you want to pay $80 for a bad cut, to have your dog drugged and abused, go find somewhere else. read more

I won't come here for grooming ever again. I took my boyfriend's Pomeranian here to be groomed just yesterday, and the whole experience made us uneasy. The women here took the dog at around 10:30 (if not before) and told us she'd be there until mid-afternoon. We came home, dropped off my dog who just needed her nails clipped, and ended up making an appointment for the doctor at 3:00, figuring since all we were doing was getting her cut down evenly all over, that she might be done by 2:30. So, at 2:00 I call. No answer. Twice. I live 3 blocks away, and I figured it they were busy and I should just pop in and see how she's doing. I got nothing but attitude the minute I walked in. I saw my dog JUST hitting the grooming table, and asked when she might be done because I had a doctors appointment at 3:00. The woman grooming said, "Did you tell us this this morning?" No. I didn't. Because I didn't know I had the appointment when I dropped her off, or that I had leave my dog with you for 6 hours to get her trimmed down. She seemed annoyed that I wanted to come check on MY dog. I asked if she could estimate about how long it would take. She wouldn't answer me. Then she called me at 3:00 to tell me my dog was ready. Uneven. Weird length, and a mat behind her ear. read more

Warning!!!!! This place is a Doggie Heath Hazard!!!! Be sure your dog has it's shots! They don't even ask. Any reputable place will. Not a dod healthy environment at all! First impression is general appearance, looked dirty, the floors looked like they hadn't been mopped at all. The sanitary conditions are very poor. I took my dog their for self service. Tub was dirty. They do not clean the tubs between dogs. There was a lot of hair in the drain, and mold under the mat. Obviously the do not sanitize it. Not appropriate. Against proper standards. The dryer's plug had exposed wires. There was an attempt to put tape on it. But wise still uncovered. Huge electrical hazard. I asked to use bathroom. The young lady said "sorry, its a mess, I haven't cleaned it today"It was in the back. Ok.. When I went back it looked like an assembly line of dogs and groomers way too close to each other. The groomers are crammed together. Not much room between stations. It's too easy for interaction. Not good if their aggressive toward other dogs. If there was an emergency, there's not enough room to get out of way or retreat. If there was a fire marshal, or health code inspection they would fail big time!!! The bathroom... Ewww... Gross! It was nasty. There is a large filthy dog kennel. Would you want your dog kept in there, in a bathroom??? Can you imagine what kind of diseases your dog is exposed too? The groomers seem nice enough. By reviews they can be pretty good. But I see why they have good prices. They cut corners by not having anyone to keep the place clean. You get what you pay for indeed.... read more

I got my two dogs groomed a couple days ago. I just moved to the area and I was looking for a new groomer and I came across the Laundermutt on yelp. They have good reviews and decent prices so I figured I'd give them a try. My dogs look adorable. My only complaints are I dropped them off at 10:30 and didn't receive a phone call to pick them up until about 4. I did call to check on them and the lady I talked to seemed annoyed I was calling to check up on my pups. When I examined them over when I got home I realized there were quite a few spots that the groomer had missed. Like paws weren't groomed very well. There are just little patches all over their body they seemed to have missed. And one of my dogs didn't look like his beard had been groomed. The people who work here are able to calm my dog, who can be wild near strangers, with relative ease. They bathed and cut his fur for a reasonable 50 dollars and I was stunned by how they left him. Brought my large dog in to have her nails trimmed (she is ridiculous and won't let me do it) Walked in and was greeted with a warm and welcoming "Hello!" Both of the people working there gushed over how cute my dog is. They really seem to love animals. They took her back and within a few minutes of being there, she was done. Pros: These are very nice people, they throw in nails and trimming gratis, and my dog is significantly cleaner than when I dropped her off. Cons: The actual grooming doesn't seem to be there. My dog came back with gobs and gobs of beginning-to-matt undercoat. They did a very cursory, surface job of brushing her out, and really, I can wash the dog and do a toss off brushing myself. I don't need to pay $55 for it. I do not recommend this place for a heavy-coated dog. read more

I've been bringing my dogs here for many years. Total number of dogs I've brought is 4. Sadly, I lost the first and second dog due to old age and illness. :-( I bring my Lhasa Apso as often as I can which isn't often enough and his hair is always quite matted and longer than it should be...his nails get pretty long also. Sunny doesn't really like to be groomed but I know they take really good care of him while he's there because he's always happy to see them and he always looks adorably perfect when I pick him up!! read more

I don't know why I only gave 4 stars....probably should have given 5. But sometimes I think I have to leave my pet there a bit longer than necessary. Besides that, all positive things to say about this place! I had 2 very unsocial long hair cats that needed cuts and baths a couple of times each year. One of them suffered with arthritis in the hips and needed to treated with kid gloves. They always came home beautiful and very happy. I know that if they had ever been abused in any way they would have let me know and they would have resisted when we went back there. Just the opposite, they were very proud and calm when they came home and very calm when I dropped them off. I now have a puppy that I am anxious to introduce to Laurie....I know she will treat her well and make her a gorgeous girl :) read more

My little corgi-terrier mix had her first grooming session since we got her 4 years ago from the pound. We were always hesitant to take her to a groomer because she had been abused by her previous owner and it took about a year for her to trust even us. I just didn't know if I could trust someone else with her since she is such a "mama's girl". Had to take her though because her nails had grown too long and since she's getting a little arthritic, she's not wearing them down like she used to. We called and were able to get an appointment the same day (right after a holiday weekend, everyone else probably did it before guests came to visit!) She was a little hesitant to go with the groomer, but warmed up to her pretty quickly. When we picked her up 2 hours later, they were best friends. Highly recommend them. For a reasonable fee they provide everything from your choice of flea or regular shampoo to towels, even an apron. The bath tubs are raised so you don't break your back, the water is neither cold nor hot, they provide plenty of shampoo and towels, even the brush and blow dryer to finish the job. And when you're all done, there's no mess left at your home to clean up! Again, I've never paid for their professional grooming, but you can see everything they do, and the way they handle the dogs in their care. Went here once and will never go back. I dropped in over the weekend to ask about services and pricing. They quoted a price for our two dogs and I made an appointment. When my wife took our two dogs in today, they said the price was 50% higher. They kept our dogs for 5 hours and never bothered to call us as they said they would. We had to call to find out our dogs were ready for pickup. They did a poor job on trimming one of our dog's nails and a poor job on shaving our other dog. Bad service and very questionable business practices. Stay away. read more

I loved this place so much I am writing my first review! I am a crazy cat lady, and needed a new place to get my cat shaved. I took a leap from the yelp reviews and made an appt. I had a 10am appt and they said it could take all day. (Only a very short 3 hours, much faster than PetCo) They said they give a bath and nail trimming but I passed on the bath. She was very matted and tangled and came back beautiful. The groomer did the best she could to groom her how I wanted despite all her knots. And she is not one of those easy going cats, she's a diva with an attitude. She looks so smooth, and came back relaxed. Usually at PetCo she looks like they hacked her all over and she's very stressed out. From as soon as I walked into the door and until I picked her up I felt at ease. The girl at the front desk was so nice and made me feel better about leaving her. I will be taking her back to this place again! read more

I have brought both my dog and my cat to Laundermutt, and they are AMAZING. First of all my cat had developed some matting and I was embarrassed and thought for sure he would need to be shaved. But they worked with him and totally brushed out the matts and sent him home looking GORGEOUS, and didnt need to shave him! I was so happy. Also I have a VERY ACTIVE Australian Shepherd that has tons of hair. He is a challenge to say the least. He came home with a perfect haircut and looking GREAT.
