Came here Sunday with my pupster! I am new to the area and usually just took my dog to petsmart but after a bad experience and showing up there only for them to cancel on me it was time to look around. I called a few places and got some rude customer service. I called here on Saturday know that my dog was over due and I felt like a terrible dog mom. They said she could come in Sunday morning first thing and i was sooooo excited! Its a little place tucked away behind where round table is. I have to say one lady on the phone was very confusing and made me repeat everything 5 times but that's okay. I had a wedding the same day that I had to get to and they were willing to work with me on time. Picked my baby up and she looked amazing and was very happy. Probably one of the better priced places in this area as well. I have nothing bad to say about this place based on my experience. read more

I love this place I've been bringing our beautiful Lab Maggy here for a couple of years. Sooner is her groomer and she, as well as all the staff , are absolutely wonderful!. I am very particular as to where I bring My Lab, I've read horrible reviews and stories of animals being not well for cared when dropped off at the groomer. That is NOT the case with Laundermutt. I know because when I drop Maggy she is not scared she is very familiar with her surroundings and Sooner her Groomer who She loves:) It make feel comfortable when I drop her off. I appreciate the convenience of a self-wash dog wash over washing Fido at home, which is why I gave this a 2 instead of a 1. This is a no-frills operation. No grooming products, dog food, dog toys for sale. Fine. I wasn't expecting the Ritz, just there to wash a dog. There are 2 self-wash stations. Fine. No one in line, so I had my pick. Forgot my stuff, was provided with shampoo and towels (part of their service). Fine. Downsides of my experience: 1- tub was not cleaned out after last client (black dog hair in tub and on walls of tub). So unhygienic, don't even get me started. Think of one word: "fleas". 2- grey towels were stained with orange splotches. I couldn't tell if they'd ever been bleached. 3- dog brush provided at station had, yet again, black dog hair. See unhygienic reference above. 4- drying area had dog hair. Just couldn't get a way from the stuff! 5- no short leash available for restraining dog in tub, so I had to wrestle a wet, wiggly Fido from suicide leaps out of the tub (yes, aprons are available for the humans). There was a short leash available outside of tub...but there was only ONE clasp, which clipped it to the wall, but nothing to clip it to Fido's collar. Totally useless. Upsides of my experience: 1- no one waiting. I was in and out in 15mins. 2- it cost $13. Cheaper than bringing Fido to groomer. 3- 15 min door-to-door commute. Not sure if I'll go back, but it's there if I want to give it another shot. read more

Took my 8 year old cat Lola for her first lion hair cut, and we had a wonderful experience and my cat just looks so cute now !!! I have had great experiences with my two dogs here. I have read the bad reviews about the matting issues. My dogs get matted if I don't take the time to brush them or trim matts down or put off grooming. Basically, if we neglect this as a dog owner, the groomer most of the time has to cut the fur down very short. I have been in this situation and feel bad having the groomer deal with the matting that could have been prevented by myself. My dogs looked great today when I picked them up. And they are strutting around the house feeling all pretty. read more

My pup was in need of a grooming before we went away on vacation and I was referred to Laundermutt from one of the ladies at my local dog park. The establishment was very clean and the staff very friendly. I brought my dog in at about 10am and he was ready to be picked up at about 2:30pm. I was a little worried about what I would find when I picked him up as I have had some not so good grooming experiences, but I was very happy with the result. I believe it was Ilene who did Bailey and she did a fantastic job. They did exactly what I had asked and he looked adorable, especially with the added touch of a bandanna they put around his neck. My sister kept commenting how perfectly even they cut his ears. My dog gets the tear stains and they completely cleaned that up. Bailey and I were very satisfied and will be returning to see Ilene. read more

Janet and Sherri were super nice, and great with our dogs!! We have a full bred Am Staff and one mixed with black lab, and the ladies were perfectly comfortable working with bully breeds. We used the Laundermutt quite often for our German Shepherd, and they always did a great job. They also have a self-service dog wash if you want to save a few dollars. Everyone was very friendly, and our dog always looked beautiful afterwards. We have since lost our beloved pet, but I definitely recommend this place. We had tried several others before we found them, and never liked the service as much as this place. When we dropped our dog off at 9am, she was usually done between 1-3pm (which is the fastest I ever got her back from every place I tried). read more

My husband took our kitty in today - she's a super furry Maine Coon mix and not the easiest cat to deal with. I would have had good money on LaunderMutt calling and demanding we pick her up without grooming because she's such a brat - but that is not what happened! They did a fantastic job! She is completely groomed, including her paws and won't be dragging litter out of the box and all over the house anymore! I was looking for a new place to take my Chinese Crested to get a nice little trim. What I got in return looked like a chow chow mixed with a Mexican hairless. I would not trust these groomers to shave my balls, so I definitely wouldn't recommend them to shave your dog. read more

We recently brought our little dog in for a wash and clip this past Sunday.... we got him back about 3 hrs later. He is a different dog.... he's pissed or something he came back scratching like we brought him there to get fleas.. Over clipped his face and never clipped hi nails... I brought my cocker spaniel in for a field cut. When I picked him up i noticed he was rubbing his eye. An hour later when I got home I realized his eye was bright red, puffy, and could not open. After a few hours he started howling in pain. I took him to the emergency animal hospital and they diagnosed him with an ulcer of the eye. The Dr advised after the eye examination that my cocker spaniel had cuts on his eye. After attempting to contact Laundermutt in the hopes of gaining information about how my dog was cut, there was no response to be had. They have ignored my phone calls and all attempts to communicate with them. Accidents happen, however, ignoring a paying customer is downright rude. I guess she doesnt care for the animals like she says, just that payment is recieved. After that she could care less. read more

Both professional and self serve options are available. For $13, you get to groom your own pup (or cat) which includes the use of a wash and groom station equipped with water and air, 2 drying towels, apron, shampoo (it's diluted, so be sure to bring some of your favorite scented or non-scented pet suds!). I LOVED this place. I was getting really stressed out about finding a place to get my Persian Cat groomed. I did not have him as a kitten and he was given to me by default. Long Story. But he was getting extremely matted and because it's getting so hot, I wanted to get him shaved ASAP before he had a heat stroke or something! Petco and Petsmart do cats, but you need their shot records, which I do not have and I have no way of getting them. I came across The Laundermutt and I was very pleased that they did cats and that I DIDNT need the shot records. They have a cat specialist there so I knew he was in good hands. It took all day, because they took their time with him so that he wasn't entirely freaked out. When I came to pick him up he looked FABULOUS and they gave him a "lion" cut, without any extra charge for the matting, which I was told if he was bad then it would be more, but they didn't charge extra at all. He had a ribbon tied around his neck for the 4th of July. He was in a nice little cage with bedding, food and water, waiting for me. When I came in he was sleeping peacefully. It was clear he was not harmed or tortured or treated badly here and we will DEFFINETLY be coming back. Thank you Laundermutt! I absolutely love Laundermutt. Laurie is the best professional groomer, and my dog loves her! I have never had a problem with their grooming of my dog, they always get it right on the dot. After taking my pup to a grooming place in Concord called Groomingdales, I was mortified to go to another groomer, as they had completely shaved my dog when I asked them to give him a trim...mind you he's a pomeranian, long hair...not supposed to be shaved. I used to work downtown Walnut Creek and met someone who had a pomeranian as well and recommended Laundermutt, best advice I have ever been given because I adore this place. If I could I would give it 10 stars, Laurie is wonderful!!! Don't hesitate to try it out, make an appointment now. I scheduled an appointment a week out as the groomer said they were booked out. When I brought my 4 month old puppy there for his first hair cut, I was advised that even though I had an appointment for 10 a.m., I would still have to wait until the afternoon for the puppy to be seen. I took personal, unpaid time off from my work to bring my puppy in at the scheduled time that was set over a week ago and apparently having an appointment at this place means nothing. I was told that my options were to leave and bring the puppy back in 4-5 hours or drop him off and leave him, trembling and frightened for the next 5 hours. When I asked why they even bothered scheduling the appointment, the girl at the front desk couldn't answer this question. She advised that there were many other dogs ahead of my 10 a.m. appointment, which was not really a 10 a.m. appointment since they couldn't see the dog until 2 or 3 p.m.The facility itself was very dirty, paint was pealing off of the walls and the floors and bathtub area looked as if they weren't washed in a long time. I turned around and left without having any work done on my puppy. The owner didn't even bother calling me or contacting me after I left to see what could be done to retain my business. I will own my dog for the 16-17 years and LaunderMutt will not see a dime of my money for all of that time that I own my pet. I will advise my friends to switch providers as well. How much money Laundermutt will loose over something as simple as good customer service, respect for a person's time, and a simple call to follow and see what could have been done to retain me as a client.
