The experience was nothing short of fantastic what's your list that was exceptional service provided by an older gentleman who display about the knowledge about cat food. Is it assistance was invaluable and help me find the perfect cat food for my kittes. He took the time to explain the benefits of different card options helping me make a informed decision without any pressure it felt very personalize tailored to my pets requirements. Thanks to the gentleman's guidance I left the store with a new phone company and the cats food I had chosen. Kudos to pet Food express for such welcoming knowledge wanting Bierman for pet lovers like me.
Overall, generally disgusted. Came to bring my dog for a bath as I do after every vet appointment so whatever dirt she got on her at the vet office isn't brought home. For $18.....I was provided the opportunity to pick from 5 empty wash stations, all that were filled with filth, including dirt, hair and towels. The female manager or lead was working at the cash register and a male was setting up dog crates, both in direct sight of this mess at the front of the store....but neither came to the wash area, or even checked on the wash area while I was there, even through the disaray was completely visible to both. Towel were piled high and falling onto the floor from the towel bin. Garbage was full. There were 5 folded towels on the shelving unit by the garbage can. Just stuff all piled in the corner. I checked every wash station and each was filthy. Hair in every tub, not one station was clean. Normally, the stations are clean, the floors are clean & dry and safe to walk on, each normally station has 2-3 folded towels and dog treats are waiting for the pups. Nothing. Nothing but wet & slippery floors covered with hair and water, tubs filled with hair....filth and grime. I went over to get towels because I initially thought the one tub was kinda clean and helped my dog in. Once I came back, I realized that the pattern on the sink made it look clean, but it was not. I kept running the water while washing down the tub while my dog waited....but the water remained tap water cold. Never got warmer. At this point, my dog is ankle deep in water....which made no sense because I hadn't even wet her body yet. I looked down and the drain was FULL of dog hair. I was grossed out but had to reach in to clear it, because I was worried about my dog getting an infection. So, overall pretty gross. No dogs were in the store when we arrived, so that had been sitting for a period of time. One dog was going in as I was trying to get away and she looked as disgusted as I felt. I carried my dog out of the dirt and just left because she had just had her teeth cleaned and I wasn't going to risk her slipping on the wet floor or catching something if she slipped and broke skin from still being a bit under anesthesia. Super disappointed because this has been something that we have done for over 6 years. Now, no way. I came home and immediately washed her and used Betadine to soak her feet. I was afraid to risk an infection as senior pup. Nope. This was bad. What a waste of $18. Hoping my senior pet doesn't get sick. Cashier/manager/lead was personable and offered wash collar. I had initially looked to buy a metal "choke chain" (don't know another name) to replace hers that had aged out. Cashier told me that PFExpress no longer sold them....BUT, they did carry the extra heavy duty ones with spikes that dig into the dogs neck. I wanted a thin metal collar to clip her to the tub enclosure and to use when we go to the river or ocean because her license/rabies/nane tags can clip on easily....not a chunky metal collar with 2 inch spikes to injure her. Yikes. I get she's a pitbull, but no...No way.
Excellent customer service. Everyone's extremely helpful and knowledgeable and incredible working here. I love all the options for foods for cats dogs and treats for cats and dogs as well. I was able to get a larger litter box today. Also some treats and cat food. They definitely have some top notch quality products here without all the junk ingredients I will forever shop at pet food Express for my pet needs.
The amount of money I drop here for my dog is ungodly! I think I am here once a week for something! One of the staples I always grab for my pup are the NoHide bones. These are a life saver when she is not ready to sit down at night while we are tired! They are made of rice so they are better for her tummy and won't splinter and wind us up in the hospital. Also the past few times I stopped in they had a buy 3 get one free deal which is great for her habit! A new find that will now become a staple are the Honest Kitchen pour overs and stews. Poppy goes wild for these over her kibble! Yes I created a monster but I can't say no to her cute wittle face! They also have little pouches of pumpkin which are great because she gets upset tummy's often. And I always have to scan the treat isles. An automatic grab for us are the honest kitchen treats. She really likes the heart shaped parmesan pecks! We also got some great high reward freeze dried chicken treats that make nail trimmings go so smoothly. Plus the same buy 3 get 1 free deal was in place last time I stopped by!

This location is the best. Everyone that works there is very nice and super knowledgeable. We have a lab who was in pain, joint and hip from walking and playing would just groan. A lady at this location took the time to explain three different options to try and we went the the one she felt the best about. He is like a puppy again. No pain and a super shiny healthy coat. Also note, they have a great COVID protocol and everything is very clean and i feel safe.
Me and my fur-babies, Rocky and Schnitzy are frequent customers at this location, which is known as "The Toy Store" by them. In November, Schnitzy was sadly diagnosed with a lung tumor. Our two favorite P.F.E. employees, are Christine and Cassidy. When I told them about Schnitzy's diagnosis, the two of them put their heads together and showed us products that may be of some benefit to decrease inflammation in Schnitzy's system. She is enjoying the Choovio beef with mussels jerky which is high in Omega's. And also enjoys the Turkey, Beef and Chicken bone broth by Nulo that has Turmeric which is a natural anti-inflammatory. They were so helpful, caring and knowledgeable! I recommend this store for sure! Thank-you, Shawna M.
This is the store I go to for self-serve dog wash stations. At $18 a pop isn't exactly cheap, but they include the shampoo, towels, dryer and even a couple of doggie treats with that price. So I'll take it. Plus, it beats doing it at home especially if your pets shed like mine - after you're done, all the fur would just be waiting for you to pick it off of the drain, yikes. But one thing though, the dryer doesn't blow warm air. That's probably one single thing I could think of to improve the overall thing - warm air dryer would be a major improvement and would help pets get warm quickly after the shower. The staff members here are all super friendly and nice! Not kidding, ALL of them are. They interact with your pets if you bring them with you, they offer help if you look confused, and overall I think it's just great customer service. I would highly rate and recommend this store.
Amazing service every time we go in. All employees have been helpful to all of our questions. We always take advantage of the buy 3 get 1 free products. The employees kept saying- if you don't like it- bring it back. They even have an awesome program where if you donate $250 or more to the rescue or shelter of your choice you get a photo shoot. With customer service like this- we always go here first before checking Amazon.

This location is the best. Everyone that works there is very nice and super knowledgeable. We have a lab who was in pain, joint and hip from walking and playing would just groan. I like this pet store a lot it, it has a lot of variety to choose from. They had a very nice set up when you first walk in with many different dog treats. I definitely had to get my go to dog food. Everyone here is also very nice and helpful. read more

I've been going here for a while and everyone is always so nice. Today I met Cassidy. She is by far the best person I've ever dealt with extremely helpful and just all around a good person. I hope her management team sees this. People like this need to be acknowledged. I came in with two very large dogs (my life) and I've never felt like anyone has ever treated me with such kindness and understanding of my situation. Even though the product I was looking for was not there, she offered to help me when I found it to for my dogs. @petfoodexpreass this is a gem of an employee you should celebrate. Thank you read more
MY HUSKY PUPPY HATES GET BATHS BUT THIS IS THE SPOT WHERE WE WASH HIM AND WASHING HIM IS A NIGHTMARE LOL. Anyways, my family and I get his food from here. Only here. I guess we like the way it's pretty close to our house and they house the food that our dog likes. I came here searching for Acana Pacific Harvest dog food. But I couldn't find it. I was about ready to give up. Then I realized there were people working here that are here to help me. A nice lady came without me asking and asked what I needed help with. I told her my problem and she went to check the back. It didn't take long for her to come back and tell me that Acana changed Pacific Harvest to Atlantic. I SEE. From one ocean to another! I really hate how expensive it was. COST ME $53 bucks. Ahhh well. My dog is a picky eater so whatever. Note: Clicking directions to this place through Yelp leads you to a completely different area. 5404 Ygnacio Valley is the Pet Food Express location I visit most often. It's the greatest! The staff is friendly and well-informed; they help me find what I'm looking for and they keep me informed about new products that would interest me and my cats. One of the store's products I just discovered, and would like to recommend, is Gerrard Larriet's Natural Stain & Odor Remover for Pet Homes. It is far more effective than other stain-removal products I've tried. Carpet stains come out quickly and an application freshens the air immediately with the pleasant scent of citrus. The product's label explains the chemical process behind it. I use it at home and also bought some for my family members who have cats. Many thanks to Mr. Larriet! After 2 months of patronizing the Clayton store, I am an even bigger fan! Everyone there is so kind, knowledgeable and customer friendly. Tony is my go-to guy for new dog help. He is wonderfully patient and REALLY has a grasp of customer needs. He most kindly shares a plethora of canine information, insight, and lore. He's more helpful than the vet. Charlie loves going to see Tony, Cassidy, Christine, and all the other incredibly helpful and attentive employees. The store is thoughtfully set up, well stocked, tidy, organized, and clean. Such wonderful staff at this Petfood Express! I always leave with fantastic advice for my puppy dog. Today I learned about freezing peanut butter and kibble in a kong to help with teething and keeping him busy. It's brilliant!!! I was also given many other suggestions about items to freeze including wet food or broth in ice cube containers. I honestly never would have thought about this but it's such a great idea! I also bought an extra bed as we have just graduated from crate sleeping to sleeping on a bed beside me. I just couldn't make up my mind and a very nice gentleman helped me decide. I brought it home and he ABSOLUTELY adores it! He knew it was his and lay down in it immediately. Thank you to all that worked on Friday August 11th, 2017! read more
