My German Shepherd had to have 4 surgeries for infected hair follicles after getting deshedded. They don't reveal themselves right away because her hair is very thick. At one time, I had told the groomer "not" to touch the back of the back paw because every time she gets groomed it swells. I don't need an apology from Petco, I need help paying my over $2000 vet bills.

AKC Dog training! Mick is a dog whisperer for even the most challenging of breeds. This is the 2nd Petco program we've experienced, and need look no longer. Knowledgeable, patient, firm, supportive, and creative-Mick's no-nonsense Marine Gunny style instantly commands respect and compliance. Innovative beyond anything I've learned in books and videos, Mick has turned a 1 year old Malinois into a Good Canine Citizen and million dollar service canine.

Mick as a trainer and all around good, caring person is an amazing trainer. She took our mini golden doodle,Lucy, who is a bundle of energy and has helped her to focus, listen and learn good manners far beyond our expectations! She keeps her class sizes small and builds rapport both with the dogs as well as owners. I know with Micks guidance we will a lively and lovely family fur baby for years to come

Sugar is a shepherd pitt mix of sorts and Seamus is a malinois mix. Sugar was abused and aggressive towards dogs and people, and Seamus was just plain old stubborn. By the time we found Darrell we had been kicked out of two other dog training programs due to Sugar's aggressive nature. At this time Darrell was associated with Sit Means Sit but was working independently and had agreed to take us as clients. Many people have great issues with the electric dog collars, myself included prior to training with Darrell. However this training seemed to give me a new way to communicate with my dogs and helped them both become more confident. My once super aggressive Sugar dog is now able to have company over without eating them, go out for walks and to restaurants, and even go to dog parks! Her quality of life was greatly improved by this experience. Most importantly, my dogs and others around them are safe. I have the control to call either dog to me from across a football field and divert them quickly away from dangers like traffic. The actual training with Darrell was great. He offered individual sessions, helped us understand the proper way to utilize the collar so it was not a punishment for our dogs, and offered group classes. We rarely utilize the collars now and only use them for things like dog parks. Our dogs have leaned that and actually go crazy with joy when they hear the beep the collar makes when it turns on because they know we are going out someplace fun. Darrell was patient with us and with our dogs. I'm happy to say that 7 years later our little family is still living happily and safely with with his training techniques.

As we begin to talk to Darrel, we begin to analyze and evaluate the person standing in our house due to his strange/ eccentric behavior and his way of speaking. There was an immediate concern and red flags began to go up in the beginning of our conversation. We were very concerned right out of the gate but we wanted to see where this conversation would take us. First we would like to say that Darrel tried to use a shock collar without our permission on our golden. I immediately stated to him "No Shock Collar as we do not condone fear training!" This is not humane nor recommended to build trust. Darrel asked if could take our golden down the sidewalk. I gave him the lead. Darrel began to pull our golden down the sidewalk slowly. Darrel then switched our halter lead for his Choke leash. Darrel then began to pull our golden with the choke leash. Our golden began to choke violently. I immediately spoke up and said "No More.. We're Done!" Darrel pulled upwards hard on the choke leash to get our golden to sit. This is extremely dangerous to the wind pipe of any dog so is not recommended. Hurting the dog is never an acceptable training method. His training methods are flawed and fear based. We didn't get a good vibe from Darrel at all. Also he asked to bring his dog into our home which is strange in itself. Needless to say won't be using his services. People.. please be aware of who you hire for training your pet.

I called Florida Dog Trainer and one other local business. The first local business (who's name I will not mention) was kind and offered some tips and even sent me information via email to help potty train my pup. Great. However my emails went unanswered and my questions went unanswered.... Soon after our conversation and they sent me a potty training manual... When I called Florida Dog trainer late one weekend evening, I left a message on the voicemail system... immediately the next day I receive a call and am unable to answer... after some back and forth phone tag we finally connected. Florida Dog Trainer stayed on me and stayed in touch. Which I so desperately needed and did not know at the time... the day Pat was scheduled to come and train with us... it was a BUSY frazzled day... she allowed me to move back the appointment time TWICE with no attitude and completely understanding... she noticed in my tone that I was under a lot of stress and tried to help me relax and even offered to move it to a later time if needed.. she KNEW I needed her BADLY! Omg... thank you Pat. She came over and spent 2 hours with us and went over everything we needed to know. My stress is less now.. my puppy is not crying in the middle of the night when it's time for sleep and he's in the kennel... it's relieving to know there's people who cares about us, our well being and getting this done right the first time (sometimes it takes a few tries...right..) I was overwhelmed with the new puppy on top of my other obligations. Pat with Florida Dog Trainers out of Montverde Florida, came and HELPED me... TRUST the process and give them a call. Simple things I was doing on my own for two weeks, thinking it was helping was not.... She showed me techniques and walked me through how to execute them. She provided me with some goodies and reading information to help me be more informed and keep up the "training". She also checks in on us to see how things are going. She will return if we need her to. Which I doubt we do... she's thought us quite a bit so we can now help ourselves :) I can't say enough GREAT things about this lady and this company Florida Dog Trainer.

I talked to John on the phone about the type of training he thought she would need. Just through the phone conversation I learned a lot about what he was able to do for our family but also for my pup. He gave me some advice over the phone that I could start practicing with her. Even though my zip code was a few miles out of what their website says they cover, he still was willing to travel down to my house for training. He has a package of 3 initial trainings(which he says is usually all most people need) and then additional ones if needed. I was looking around at petco/petsmart trainings but they did not seem like they'd be helpful since theres only one person with up to like 5 dogs and the things they were teaching seemed like stuff I could just find online myself. After our first hour and a half of private session and consultation, my little Ellie has shown tremendous( if not the most I've seen in this short amount of time) improvement! I also actually have a structure of a training regimen I can practice with her now until the next two sessions which are flexible in timing. ALSO, he brought toys, treats, and chews for Ellie to use for her training and to keep afterwards! Great surprise! HIGHLY recommend their in home training with John. He has extensive knowledge on training and understands the way dog's minds work and how they communicate which is very important when bonding and training your dog. It is also private 1 on 1 training so the whole hour and a half is all focused on your dog and it's needs unlike the retail store training. It is all positive reinforcement training so nothing negative! I am already confident that this was worth the time and money only after our first session and about as much as I would've spent on the petco or petsmart training! Sure it is half the amount of classes I'd be getting but the quality covers down. Not trying to knock the big chains, but the training just isn't the best out there. TIP: the phone # on their website was out of service as of 5/18/18 so I'd use their contact section to leave a message and they will call or email you back within a few days

My pet died because of their negligence. They treated him for the wrong thing entirely because the vet tech told the doctor the wrong things. Symptoms I never even had issue with were on his record. I thought that was the whole point pf speaking with a doctor - to confirm the vet tech report and to discuss treatment. I couldn't get a consistent answer about his blood work results either. She was very dismissive about my concerns and proceeded as if it was just a routine issue. She then tried to put a known diabetic on a steroid and when I questioned it and said that those two things don't mix she said "ohh" like she didn't know this before?? Now I also need to talk about the cleanliness of the place. Worst facility I've ever seen. Animal shelters are cleaner than this place. I was grossed out after my first visit and mistakenly gave them a second chance giving them the benefit of doubt. Exposed medical waste were left in the garbage by the exam table. Every other facility cleans up after each patient. I could smell dog pee and the seating inside of the exam rooms are coated in grime. There are also two doors in these rooms. One for when you and your pet enter, and one on the inside for the staff to go back and forth easier with animals. There's a window at the bottom like a doggy door and one at the top. Both of these are disgusting with smears from pets and people. Like weeks worth of build up. Absolutely disgusting. I wish I saw the reviews sooner on yelp because Google has them at 4 stars. They also DO NOT work with Chewy and charge double for what scripts cost anywhere else. They refuse to tell you which medication it is until you say yes or no and if you want to get it somewhere else, they charge you 20$ for a written script. No one cares about the animals here. It's all a money grab. No sympathy or respect, and they should be shut down for malpractice
