would not recommend; I had a terrible experience boarding my puppy. Prior to boarding they required a trial which we did, and it was successful. They said he did great and could board at the facility. After my dog was dropped off for boarding, they called within a couple hours and said he will possibly need to be picked up due to mounting. I have never seen him do this before and he plays with different dogs regularly... but he is a puppy... and I'm sure was very excited with so many dogs. They said that they were going to try a couple different strategies, but we would have to pick him up if it didn't work. One strategy included locking him in a room alone and unsupervised for 15-45 mins for a "time out." They called back the second time and said he had to get picked up. Their methods are not appropriate and neglectful to put kindly. I had to ask a friend, who has never watched my dog, to get him since I was not in town. He stayed the night with him and animals who he never met and had no issues. They definitely need to improve their procedures and the way they handle dogs. read more

I have been boarding my four dogs at The Green K9 for several years now. I always had a good experience and felt that my dogs were being well looked after. However, when I picked up my dogs on Friday, February 26th, after a three-night stay, I noticed on the ride home that my lab mix Bonnie's snoot was horribly swollen and there was a line of hair rubbed off her snoot. As soon as I got home, I called back to TGK9 and got Jessica, who I believe is fairly new, and with whom I had had a less than pleasant phone conversation when calling to see if I could pick up the dogs an hour earlier than originally planned. When I asked if Bonnie had been involved in an incident, Jessica said she didn't notice anything and that my dogs had not been outside or around other dogs that day because they were being bathed and having their nails clipped. I told her that quite clearly my dog had been injured and I wanted someone to look into it and call me. Amy called me back in about ten minutes and said that no one had noticed anything but perhaps Bonnie had been stung by a bee. She suggested I give her Benadryl and wait. I took as many pics as I could, but honestly, trying to take clear photos of a black dog is like trying to photograph a big black hole. As I was taking pics, I noticed that the injury matched perfectly the imprint of a too-tight muzzle. The more I looked, the more I realized that someone had muzzled Bonnie with an incredibly tight muzzle and left in on for FAR too long. It had cut off enough circulation for the end of her snoot to swell terribly, and rubbed hair off in a line above her nose where the muzzle would have stopped. Let me say here that neither my groomers nor my vet have ever had to muzzle Bonnie. She is a licker and a barker, but NOT a biter. I made the first appointment I could with my vet, not because I thought the injuries were life-threatening, but because I wanted her opinion on whether this was likely caused by a muzzle. Of course, she could not definitely say because of the time that had passed and my crappy photos, but she agreed with me that improper muzzle use was most likely the issue. Amanda from TGK9 called and asked how Bonnie was doing. I told her that whomever had bathed Bonnie had injured her from using a too-tight muzzle. Here's where their story started shifting around. Initially, Amanda said "the only time we use a muzzle is when we are doing nails" and that it shouldn't have been on too long. Then she said that Jessica had bathed and done nails for my dog and that she would ask her about it. She called back and then said that Jessica claimed not to have used a muzzle at all. I told Amanda this was obviously injury from a too-tight muzzle and that I would never ever bring my dogs to them again. I never heard from TGK9 again. I debated about posting this experience, but then I thought I should because I would want to know if a business had a propensity for injuring the dogs they are caring for. My fur babies are my entire world, and I need to know that the people I entrust them to when I am traveling are treating them carefully and well whether they are on camera or not. So please be careful. If they have injured my dog, they might injure yours. read more

The staff are very pleasant , the location is a nice location. The playground for the little ones, dogs , is very nice. Everything seems to be kept well. The only thing that bothered me was that they told me my dog would get a bath the same day I am to pick up my pet. She was bathed the day before so she had dirty paws.Her eyes were bloodshot. Why, I don't know. She was just homesick. She's a new little dog and doesn't like being away from home. Other than that , many customers are happy w/ the service provided. read more

We are rescue dog parents and have felt completely comfortable placing our husky, Apollo, in the care of the Green K9 or "puppy resort," as we call it on numerous occasions. We love that we can check on him using the cameras during designated hours. The owners and staff are friendly, responsive, and able to trim his nails which is amazing! I called outside of "camera hours," and a pleasant and thorough team member placed me on a brief hold and came back on the line with a full report including that he had made friends. They even follow our specific feeding times and instructions. The store is wonderful, and he usually picks out a new toy when we pick him up. They stay booked in advance, so call ahead if you know you have plans to make a reservation. We even sent him to day care one day while new carpeting was being installed. He comes home tired and happy! We recommend the Green K9. read more

Very, very disturbed that my dog was badly injured on January 31, 2022. I was told that she was playing with a group of dogs (including the owner's dog), ran away from the dogs, and then multiple dogs chased and bit her. She required emergency surgery for eight wounds and now has eight sets of sutures and four drains. Although there are video cameras at the facility, I was told the incident is not visible because it was in a corner of the play yard. This makes no sense. If the dogs were running after my dog, they did not stay in a corner. If it really happened in the corner that's not visible, there was only room for one or two other dogs, possibly the owner's dog, as that name was mentioned. And this morning, as I write this, the video feed has been taken offline. I believe I was told Stella was bitten by multiple dogs to excuse the fact that there were so many bites before anyone came to Stella's rescue (eight in all). I believe this was a case of gross lack of supervision and negligence. And now my dog is very badly injured. read more

We have a mixed lab that is 6 months old name Bella.we first started taking her to the Green K9 on 10.10.17.we took hervtwjce a week for the interaction with other dogs..Bella has gone about 7 times and we noticed a few scratches on her. I would watch her on camera while I work and coulkd see they had 15 to 20 dogs in the play area and only one person to watch them. I noticed a dog that would be humping her on more then one occasion. When I brought it up they stayed the dog was fixed. On 11.2.17 Bella was dropped off 8.30 am and picked up around 4.30pm.. When I arrived Stacy helped me..i waited about 15 mins for them to bring her out..Just as they they were bring Bella out Stacy tells me Bella has some ref marks on her from a dog named Cleveland taking a liking to her. I was shocked when I saw her she was so red and scratches all over her.. Stacy advised me they removed Cleveland from the play area and stated they could put a note in Bella file that Cleveland couldn't be in the same play area as her and also advised he was only being boarded and that he didnt come very much but we have seen him there often. After this hapoen we decided to no longer take Bella back. On 11.11.17vwe took her to the vet and found out she has kennel cough . The Green k9 is the only interaction Bella had with other dogs an d she is fenced at home...Bella had the all her shots prior to going to the Green k9. I just want other to be aware the type of place this is..My daughter used to work for the Green k9 for over a year and told us not to take her because when something happens they are not honest about things I am a fair person and wanted to give them the benefit ..Boy was I wrong...Please be aware when you take your beloved dog there..things are covered up there. read more

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!! ....OUR DOG WAS INJURED AT "THE GREEN K9" DUE TO OWNERS NEGLEGENCE........PLEASE READ BELOW, Our female dog was bit several times by a male un-neutered dog that was allowed by GK9 owners to be in the common play area with all other dogs, including mine this occurred at The Green K9 on Feb 16 2015. The Green K9 has a strict policy that male dogs must be neutered in order to be allowed to socialize with other dogs at their facility. Any un-neutered dogs at their facility must be kept isolated. The Green K9 was negligent and broke that policy on Feb 16th 2015, when our 7 yr old spayed female dog was there for daycare and one nights boarding. She wasn't there more than 1 hr when she was bit multiple times in the common area by the male dog who was wrongfully allowed to be with the other dogs. The owners tried to cover up their negligence by giving us the name and breed of another dog so we would not find out the dog that bit her should not have been in with her. The owner Paul Lewis finally confessed to his lie when the male dogs owner told us the truth. I do not blame the male dog nor the dogs owner as he was led to believe his dog was isolated. Paul Lewis also downplayed the severity of our dogs injuries and was holding her on a leash at a vet clinic that would not be able to see her for 6 or more hours, she was standing in the hot sun bleeding on the concrete when we arrived. We immediately took her from him and rushed her to our vet where she was treated immediately and in time to stop severe infection. The Green K9 is not equipped nor are they staffed properly or trained to be supervising as many dogs in one area. They have one person and 20+ large dogs. Our dogs attack was prolonged enough for her to be on her back in a submissive position and was bit again and again. Don't take a chance with your dogs safety, it is very likely to be another incident at the green k9 unfortunately; with the way they run their business it's inevitable. I do not feel the other dog's owner is at fault, but he is paying our vet bills and he was genuinely apologetic and sincerely concerned for out dog. Since they neglected their own policy that clearly states "* For non-neutered males over a year old, we will provide boarding and grooming services, but they are not permitted in the day care group". By not following their own rules, this subsequently caused my dogs injuries. My dog did not have to get injured yesterday; it was avoidable if only the owners were more responsible. Also I do not feel that the staff is trained properly and that they do not have adequate protocols for serious injuries. read more

Definitely will NOT be taking my dogs here. First off my fiancé and I have been looking for a place to board our three dogs while we will be on our honeymoon. I did research and found the green k9 and thought we would go there to take a tour and ask some questions. As soon as we arrived we were looked at like aliens and not even greeted as we walked in, instead we were just stared at. As I started the conversation I knew this was going no where I had to pry information out of them and all they did was give me a flipping BROCHURE. I am extremely bothered by this if we were treated like this I can only imagine how my dogs would be. I was so excited to take my dog here for his 4 hour daycare trial. Within two hours I had a call that I needed to come and pick him up because he was throwing up. When I got there my dog was handed to me because he could not walk and they were very inconsiderate of his condition. I rushed him to the vet and it turns out he had severe heat exhaustion and was on the way to a heat stroke. The next day the manager called and I was told he was outside for 10 minutes when I watched him on camera for at least 45 minute outside. I really had high hopes for them but they were so inconsiderate, the owner didn't even have the courtesy to call me and I will NEVER recommend them to anyone or take my dog here again. read more

They check the dog over upon entry and departure and have professional dog handler's monitoring all the play time. The dogs are active from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM. Will be back! read more

While snow birding in Mt. Dora early 2017, we had occasion for our two rough collies to spend a couple of weekends with Green K9. Being nervous parents we were apprehensive about our babies spending extended time in a new environment. However, the individual care, daily grooming and dog/individual interaction by staff quickly put our mind at ease. We were thrilled when our dogs eagerly returned to Green K9 for another overnight. In addition, the grooming was unlike any they had experienced before and the entire family was delighted with the results. The Green K9 was a total disappointment recently, it was recommended and My dog was asked to leave because he was barking to much for them. I have 10 years of boarding experience being a former Manager. If your dog does not go with the flow, then it is asked to leave. they can not handle if a canine has a change in behavior. All dogs have to act the same and no changes are accepted, otherwise your dog gets asked to leave. If your dog barks do not send lt there, it will be asked to leave. I am sure that they do good for causes and providing expensive food to clients, but dogs nature is to bark and I would not have any clients if I sent them home for barking. read more

My husband and I visited Mt. Dora for 10 days and needed a place to watch our dog during a few days and nights during our stay. We had been referred here by a relative, and could not have been more pleased with our experience. They are great with the dogs and thier owners. The facility is clean and kept up. After reading what you had to put back on my review not all of what you said is true. Your review makes it look like basically we did not take care of Joey at all which we bathed and combed Joey every week. We have now found out that his hair is the color it is and the way it is because of allergies not to be blamed that he was mad it in a mess when you got him that was not true. And yes I was asked who groomed my dog and I did tell her I did and she apologized. The last time we brought the dogs they were there for a full week I do understand that that weekend you were busy you should've anticipated that and my dog should've gotten the grooming that I paid for part of that when I paid a deposit three months ahead of time to have them stay there. Also you know that I complained three different times. Did we tip for what work was done by the groomers and the caretakers yes we did it's not their fault it was the lack of communication. Twice they were supposed to be groomed and I pick them up and hadn't even been bathed just in daycare for the day and they were dropped off to be groomed. Do not try to sugarcoat this I'm sorry I liked bringing my dogs there but the lack of communication really upset us. Nobody called us while we were gone and let us know that they could not groom Joey that week. And the time before that there was all kinds of excuses that shouldn't of happened. The reason he got a free grooming was because of the mess up and not doing his grooming when I left him there could not be groomed so they told me to bring him back. Yes we were always very excited because the dogs seem to have a good time there. But I just got tired of the excuses as to why our dogs did not get groomed and have to bring them back to get them groomed. It was just basically the lack of communication and not keeping us up on what was going on. The last time we were actually in Texas my husband's mother had passed away and we had been through enough. To come home and find out no one even tried contacting us about our dogs and letting us know what had happened was very upsetting. Just our dogs walking out and neither one of them had been groomed upset us deeply. And then for the third time another excuse why not. We will just never understand why we weren't at least called and told that our dogs would not be groomed. It was said that they did call us but they did not neither one of our phones had messages nor did we speak to anybody. Those dogs are our children and we love them deeply we don't like not being communicated to about that. And we don't like excuses about why not. my wife and I were planning to board our 2 dogs here so that we could go on a getaway for our anniversary. When my wife went in to register them and turn in the vets paperwork, they treated her incredibly rudely. I'm not sure if it was her ethnicity or her tattoos that they found undesirable, or if they just generally treat people with such snooty attitude, but either way their attitude was unacceptable. I immediately cancelled our reservations with them and took our business elsewhere. While these folks may be perfectly good at their job, there is no way i would ever do business with such arrogant people. read more

The staff is not train properly to handle the dogs in their care the owner you can hear yelling at the staff why in the store there is from what I can see no real leadership skills in the kennel!!!! The playroom that you can see through a window in the store is so nasty sand an dog hair everywhere water an dog slobber all over the floor.... Plus the number of dogs in the playroom I counted at least 20+ an only one staff member in there to keep an eye on them all.... My dog received 6 staples when he was boarded at the green k9. Per the staff they have no idea how it happened but guessed it was from another dog. They called and told us it was minor and would need only 1 stitch. After speaking to our vet we were informed that he was missing a junk of flesh and needed 6 staples. Our vet said there was no way it could have happened from another dog. When we told the owner Paul he said that our vet must be wrong and acted as if we did something wrong. The owners refused to speak to us about our dog at their facility and would only speak to us over the phone. Strongly recommend you find another location to board your pets. read more

I can not say enough praises for Green K9. My 14 year old son adopted a 7 month old lab.There have been times when we needed to be gone for several hours and did not want to leave her crated. We where referred to Green K9 by friends. Our first visit was for a few hours to see how she would do with other dogs. Our lab did great. When we arrived, we were greeted by a worker who gave us a "report card" on how she did. We have taken her several times a week for a few weeks now and have had no issues or problems. Our lab comes home and sleeps for hours. She loves to hear "let's load up and go play". The store is immaculate. I have never smelt a foul odor or seen a mess. They carry the latest products , all which are healthy for you and your pet. There is always a friendly smile to greet you when you enter and plenty of smiles when you are there from various staff.
