So today I took my Maltese puppy to get her nails trimmed and she's never been here but they honestly honored their standards of walk ins welcomed. The nice lady Desiree and a nice gentleman name XIO. They gave excellent advice, attention and care to us in the few minutes of being there! Xio helped me with healthy snacks for my pet daughter and even tried helping me with a harness for her, although she didn't fit the one we tried He was Kind and I experienced phenomenal service from them both! Thank You

Coat is choppy around his tail and his tail looks like it wasn't even trimmed.

I have been taking my dog buddy here for six years to get groomed. I had an appointment today and when I went to pick him up, I was informed that Buddy is no longer allowed to get groomed at the Clark location. The groomers name was Josh. This is the first time Josh has groomed my dog buddy after six years all of a sudden my dog is a problem. He is a little Havanese. He does like to bark and he is only 12 pounds soaking wet so after six years of appointments and multiple groomers I need to take him to a less populated store or give him sedatives which also means I can't take him there anymore because he's on sedatives. None of the other groomers have had an issue with Buddy and his temperament. Josh did a horrible job grooming, buddy. He left chunks of hair in his eyes and left his coat looking choppy. This is a very unprofessional establishment. A lady in front of me was also turned away by the same groomer because he said the dog was anxious. If you love your pet do not bring them here for grooming. They lost all of my business. I will not bring my pet here for grooming or buy one ounce of dog food for my two dogs here any more. Can get it for cheaper on Amazon. Thanks for the reply Petco but the damage is done. Your generic reply message is a moot point as I have been banned from brining my dog to your Clark location.

What a garbage establishment!!! I can't say enough horrible things about this wasteland of a want to be business. The grooming employees there are all a waste and totally unprofessional and untrained. After $600 vet bill for cutting BOTH OF MY DOGS they refused to accept responsibility unless I used their vets to stitch my dogs. ARE YOU CRAZY! I see what you butchers did to my dogs as groomers, no way I will ever let anyone I know go there.

I have never had a good experience at Petco. I stop in every now and then to check on the care of their in-store animals. During my most recent visit I witnessed the horrible state of their leopard geckos. They had 10+ leopard geckos in one enclosure, and many were dangerously malnourished. They were kept on sand bedding which is dangerous for leopard geckos as they can ingest it. I even found a dead gecko in the corner. I told the employees that the care was horrible and about the dead gecko. I believe they were working on changing the bedding after I spoke to them. Very sad to witness these animals kept like this.

Her reviews were all positive and consistent in their comments, and her rates were listed and extremely reasonable. Karin responded to my inquiry within an hour and we had a scheduled phone call that same evening. She came to our home the next night. When she arrived, she quietly observed our new puppy and our nine-year-old dog, and then gave us detailed instructions on what she wanted us to do. She also had us try some of those instructions while she was still there to guide us. At the end of the visit, we scheduled another session for two weeks from that date. Things are already so much better in our home. Karin got right to the root of our puppy's issues and quickly came up with a plan for us to execute. She is a great communicator and just made everything seem doable. Most importantly, our dogs responded to her immediately. She clearly understands dogs and likes them. It was easy to see that, for her, it was about them as individuals, and not about a set method that she adheres to. From our first conversation, I could see that Karin loves what she does. She is curious, observant, and determined to find a way to help her clients and their dogs to understand each other better and to build relationships based on trust and consistency. She just calms the chaos that having a puppy can sometimes lead to! Do not hesitate to turn to her.

We absolutely couldn't be happier with Linda at NJ Fix My Dog and the incredible transformation of…read moreour dog Millie. As first-time dog owners, we tried our best to train Millie on our own, but it just wasn't cutting it. We constantly struggled with obedience and her inability to listen to us, intense pulling when we went on walks, jumping, getting mouthy - the list goes on and on. We felt defeated and insecure - but as soon as we talked with Jean and Linda at NJ Fix My Dog, we felt hopeful! They assured us Millie was the kind of dog that could be helped, and they'd be happy to step in.  Throughout Millie's 2 week bootcamp, we received frequent updates from Linda on Millie's progress, photos, and videos. We missed her but we knew she was in excellent care and learning so much everyday. After the 2 week bootcamp, Linda brought Millie home and we were in shock at how well-behaved, and well-mannered suddenly became. The day she came home, Linda spent over an hour with us going over what Millie learned and how to work with her going forward. She also gave us a full document with an assessment of Millie's overall behavior, how to continue to enforce what she learned, and how encourage her along the way.  Before bootcamp, we dreaded going for a walk with Millie because of how she behaved when she saw other dogs (pulling toward them, whimpering, getting anxious, etc.), and how she walked in general (tugging and zig-zagging the entire walk). Now she walks like an absolute DREAM! Right at our side, a nice little trot, ignores other dogs, people, squirrels - everything! We could walk her all day long now, and we look forward to all our walks! Millie used to ignore us when we called for her, or told her "no" if she was doing something we didn't like, but now her recall skills are excellent and she runs right over to us when we call her. She doesn't even try to attempt the bad behavior she used to do, like jumping, getting mouthy, etc., and instead happily relaxes. Her overall demeanor used to be just a little bit intense, always on the lookout for something to get into - but now she is so calm and seems at east with herself. Linda worked WONDERS! We learned so much about Millie through this process, and we truly feel comfortable with what Linda taught us to help Millie be her best self. We feel like we have the tools we need, and the confidence. We feel the support of NJ Fix My Dog now even after Millie is back home - we know Linda is just a call or text away if we need any help.

We were fully aware of what a puppy goes through at this age, however, we had never seen a puppy so independent/head strong before. Given we have two young daughters (9 & 5), we wanted to ensure our puppy established a solid behavior foundation. We found Jean & Fix My Dog after unsuccessfully working with a few different trainers online. Within the first 30 minutes of our session with Jean, we had already learned so much about both our new puppy's and our own behaviors. After the hour was over, we were very confident we had found the right place to help us with our puppy training. Given the current pandemic, we hoped to find a trainer that could not only help with the behavioral issues, but also socialize our pup well enough to other dogs, people, children, etc. As a result, Jean paired us up with Christy, a trainer who lives on a lot of land, has dogs and other animals, and plenty of people around to help socialize our pup. We spoke with Christy on the phone to go over her approach, felt great about it, came up with a list of behavioral focus areas, signed a contract, selected a day for Christy to come pick up our puppy, and off she went for 2 weeks! The training process was handled so well.. Christy kept us informed with photos, videos, and lots of daily updates. We were even able to do a few online video sessions to see our puppy and to ask questions about how the training was going. It was 100% clear that our puppy was getting the attention she needed and was being trained as part of a family and not as just another dog in a training facility. (SO IMPORTANT!) We were noticing tremendous progress with our puppy over videos after the first few days of training. When she returned home after the 2 weeks were up, it was almost as if we had a perfectly re-wired puppy. It was absolutely clear that the training was effective and our puppy now had a solid behavioral foundation to work with. Christy and her family were extremely loving with our dog, and were clearly able to address all of the behavioral points we asked for through positive reinforcement and appropriate correction practices. Upon her return, we received many instructional videos and a manual to keep us (owners) in line on how to maintain all of the great work put in place. If you were like us, seeking a trainer to help build a strong behavioral foundation for your puppy, I would HIGHLY recommend Christy @ NJ Fix My Dog. We simply could not have found a better situation both for us and our puppy.

From the beginning it was clear that she has a deep understanding of dogs and brings a calm, confident, and professional approach to everything she does. My dog Kane completed a training program with her, and I was extremely impressed with the experience and the results. Nancy takes the time to truly understand each dog and provides the kind of structure, guidance, and consistency that helps dogs thrive. Since then, Nancy has also become my trusted go-to whenever I travel. Knowing Kane is in her care gives me tremendous peace of mind. He always comes home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. What really sets Nancy apart is the level of attention and personalization she provides. This isn't a typical boarding situation -- she genuinely gets to know the dogs she works with and creates a thoughtful, structured environment for them. Nancy is trustworthy, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does. I'm very grateful I found her and would recommend Know Your Dog Training without hesitation to anyone looking for a skilled trainer or a safe, reliable place for their dog while they're away.

Having a city dog isn't easy -- our 4-year-old Wheaten Terrier (female) has tons of energy, a stubborn streak, and some anxiety and reactivity issues around other dogs. We were looking for help with leash training and overall confidence, and Nancy was the perfect fit. From the very first interaction, Nancy was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. She clearly loves what she does and cares deeply about every dog she works with. I enrolled our pup in a month-long board-and-train program while I was getting married, and Nancy made the experience completely stress-free. She stayed in constant communication, sending regular updates, photos, and videos that showed the progress and the specific behaviors being worked on -- plus advice for us as owners to reinforce at home. When our dog came back, the difference was night and day. She's calmer, more responsive, and walks beautifully on a leash with far fewer distractions. Her reactivity around other dogs has improved dramatically, and she seems much more confident overall. Even after the program ended, Nancy went above and beyond -- she included additional follow-up lessons at no cost and still checks in to see how things are going. Her board-and-train setup is amazing too: the dogs aren't kept in kennels but get to enjoy the outdoors, sunshine, and plenty of attention and enrichment. I can't recommend Know Your Dog and Nancy enough for anyone looking for dog training, board-and-train programs, or boarding with a personal touch. Nancy truly changed our dog's behavior -- and our lives -- for the better.

Our first visit Matt told us his dog attacked his child on three different occasions. This didn't sit well with us AT ALL, but we decided to try a second session because we paid $580 and obviously wanted to get what we paid for. The second session I mentioned how our dog was very nippy and I'd like advice how to stop that. During this time he informed me his child just had a birthday party and his wife knew not to do it, but she let their dog out of the crate and he attacked a child. Matt seemed more concerned about his image as he said that it was embarrassing because everybody knew what he did for a living. This didn't sit well with me AT ALL and after discussing with my husband, we agreed that having a dog trainer who owns a reactive dog that attacks children can't possibly give us the tools we require to ensure our dog doesn't become like that. If he's unable to control his own dog then how can his advice and training rollover to his clients dogs? We hired Matt on false pretenses. Had he been upfront and honest with us that he had an out of control dog, then we would have never hired him. He refunded 1/3 of our payment due to him being uncomfortable working with us due to our concerns, which is laughable as we shared valid concerns. We 100% deserve the full refund since he was dishonest when we hired him, because no he could not give us the tools required to ensure our dog wasn't aggressive towards people or children since his dog is reactive dog. I'm truly disgusted by his business and for what he charges for 3 sessions considering he can't even train his own dog. So hire if you want, but be aware Matt has a dog in his home who attacks children so if that's the kind of dog trainer you want then go for it. I personally would rather hire a trainer who can control his own animals though.
