My dog loves Petco! She did her puppy classes at our local Petco which is now closed. Luckily, Petco Chino is nearby and has great groomers in Cecilia and Anita! I feel comfortable leaving my anxious little dog in their hands and she always looks great when I pick her up! The store is a good size and has a good selection of food, treats, and clothing for our little Pom. I have always had good service at this store. They even gave my dog free cookies when we were checking out! read more

Took our dog to have her rear and toe nails clipped. Groomer talked me into having her groom our dog since our groomer was still at lunch. Our dog is very gentle. The groomer accidently bumped our dog off the table. I got to see my dog hang'ing by her neck. The woman must have been half asleep and it took her a couple of minutes to react. I was stunned to see it. The other girls had nothing to say or say she was sorry. Her only reply was she keeps the table low to the ground when this happens to her when she is grooming. I paid and left the store. This was on a Sunday so perhaps the groomer was getting over a hang-over from the night before. I called the following day and spoke to someone that said they were the store manager. She said no one reported the incident to her and that it was store policy to report accidents. They could have killed our dog. Not one of the groomers (4 saw our dog getting hung) there that day reported the incident. Or the store manager was lying about the groomers having to report accidents. read more

Some are rude some are nice enough, but all will give their opinion unsolicited and not stop. I have been here several times, but today was my last time. The ones that are rude have no clue to customer service and over step boundaries. Will not be going back I don't need to feel uncomfortable. There are lots of other options in the area and closer to me, better yet Amazon and Chewy can bring it to my doorstep. Also, the staff's knowledge of their products is poor. If you have an actual question about a product, good luck. I asked for a flea preventative to purchase with no questions to ask the staff member, and after about 5 minutes of watching the staff member struggle as I am asking for it by name and company I was handed the WRONG box not once, not twice, but three times as I even pointed to it. I was finally able to get the product, but to get CAT and DOG flea preventative MIXED UP is kind of a big deal. I truely hope no animal gets hurt with their "help". read more

We had the WORST experience with this store's puppy trainer Tamlyn. We enrolled our 8 week husky puppy to her puppy level 1 class but she refused to take our puppy in because she didn't think our vaccine record was "legit". She was very rude and condescending to us. When she say things to you, she sounds very judgmental and shows zero sympathy to the puppy and puppy owners. You could tell from her tone that she does not like dogs at all. She is just here doing her job. This is the second puppy we have, our first puppy had puppy training with another Petco trainer two years ago with the same vaccine record. We had a great experience. Tamlyn at this location gave us and our puppy the worst experience whatsoever. I would not trust her with training my puppy even if we could enroll. I would recommend you not consider this store for puppy training in the future. We for sure are never coming back. read more

This Petco seems slower and smaller than other Petcos I've visited, but I find the selection of small pets and supplies to be pretty extensive. My toddler loves to swing by whenever we grab a bite to eat at one of the surrounding restaurants to spy on the available pets at the store, including adoptable cats. They have interesting reptiles, furry critters and fish. Grooming is available at this location as well. The customer service is excellent and there's always at least one representative that offers assistance. read more

I am a Petco customer and a rewards member. I usually shop at the Chino store #1509. Recently I have seen several postings on various social media that instances of kitten abuse have been witnessed at this store. A specific employee by the name of "Steven" was named as the perpetrator and the store manager "Brittany" seemed to be impassive regarding the incident by all accounts. I have been a loyal customer in the past, however, until this issue is resolved, and I am confident steps are in place to prevent the abuse of animals at this store, I am not willing to provide Petco my business. I am requesting information as to Petco's rules and regualtions for employee handling of animals, as well as the action that has been taken regarding this incident. The Petco in Chino is clean and organized. We purchased flee shampoo and collar for a dog my wife adopted, or should I say "found". That's a story for another day. Focus, back to Petco. The aisles are small which made it simple to find items, trying to be positive. They do not have enough staff because one lady was yelling that she had been waiting at the cash register for 10 minutes. It was more like 2 but who's counting. I want to say a HUGE thank you to Kaiya @Vetco. The entire team was efficient, friendly and caring! But Kaiya went above and beyond for me. After a visit for vaccinations, I realized I left my wallet at home....40 miles, one way. I was so embarrassed and worried about how I was going to pay my bill. Kaiya offered for me to Zelle her the money and she would pay my bill right then and there. What an amazing gesture! She saved me a 2 hour round trip back to the clinic. Pet Stuff. This petco is great. Staff are friendly and helpful. As all petco layout is slightly different, this one wasn't hard to find the stuff I needed. I did have circle around to find the dog treats because the other Petco have their treats in the front whereas this petco was in the center in front of the dog food. Place is clean and stock for the stuff I buy are always available. Haven't gotten the chance to use any of their services but the buying experience is good. read more

I brought my new pet (guinea pig) to the store last week cause he couldn't open his left eye and Katrina has been nothing but helpful for the past few days! Since he's still under their 30 day warranty, they took my pet for a few days so that they would bring him to the vet to get looked at. For the past few days, Katrina would call and update me on how my guinea pig is doing and when he would come home. I was finally able to take him home today and he's doing fine! read more

I came in to get my dogs nails trimmed. They trimmed some short and left some long and claimed my dog was snippy. I usually take him to his vet for grooming and nail trimming and they never have an issue. This was the first and last time I waste $10 for a half ass job. Upon arriving, everyone was so friendly and gave me EVERYTHING we needed; towels, shampoo, conditioner, dryer, brushes.. EVERYTHING. definitely go try them out. Have to hop on here to review the employee who helped me out. Unfortunately I did not get her name but let me tell y'all. I asked her if she had the bigger bag of dog food for me since there were none on the shelves. She ran back to check and said she did not see any BUT they did just receive a shipment that was not unpackaged yet. I told her not to worry about it and I would just be back later on in the week. I shopped around for 10 more minutes and as I was checking out at the register, I hear "WAIT!!!!!". I turn around and see the employee hauling ass across the store with my 25 pound bag of dog food slung over her shoulders. Turns out she had dove into their new shipment, saw that what I wanted was in fact there and then sprinted it out to me before I left the store. If that's not customer service, I don't want to know what is. Truly admirable. Wish I had gotten her name but Petco girl....if you're reading this - YOU DA REAL ONE. Huge shout to Madison and the grooming team at the Petco Grooming center in chino. We brought our labradoodle Kevin in for a much-needed haircut and grooming sesh. They are always so professional and do such a quality job. The price is right and Kevin came home looking, feeling and smelling like a million bucks! Love taking our pets there. I called today 2/26/17 for a puppy bath service. It all began when I called and asked it they had an appointment for a puppy bath. They asked how old was my dog and then I said 4 months.. they came back with we can't do it, I asked why if it says till 6 months online. Then they asked how much he weighed. I said I wasn't sure about 25 lbs, they said he's too big and I responded with he's not over 40lbs stated online, they placed me on hold and said they would honor that just this time and could take him for his appointment at 12pm ... Already with just the phone call it was an issue... When I arrived I took him in at 11:45 dropping him off n waited and waited around for my dog to get started, I took my two boys ages 5 & 7 to watch but they saw nothing, we never saw Cooper get a bath nor trim nor anything 3 hours passed n I walked in to find out what was going on. I didn't take my dog there to just be in a cage all day. The lady attending Cooper said she was on lunch, n no one still was attending him. I guess he only got his bath n was in a cage left wet. I asked for my dog back, I wasn't going to wait additional hours on a Sunday for a service that should of been done.. I asked for a manager to tell her about the service I received she was also rude and when I told her I would be making a review she continued to say Ok Thank You Bye 3 times, completely rude of a manger to speak to a customer in such way. Overall the service was absolutely horrible.. I also saw the manager, facilitate a puppy interaction class where she was also very rude to one of the girls that took her puppy in responds to what she does to tame her dog when being aggressive, she said I've been a trainer for years so you should listen to me, when the girl told her what she would do. She was being once again aggressive. Unfortunately with all these things going on I didn't get names but I am sure by the date and time you will know the staff schedule of workers 2/26/17 12-3pm time frame. My first time I had no problems d the service was great in which is why I went back! But this time completely horrible and an experience that my kids should of also enjoyed. When appointments are set and I am given a time to go back which she said 2:30 and absolutely nothing was done completely horrible and a waste of time!! This place is always understaffed, everytime I come here to buy crickets for my Tarantulas, they only have 2 people working the floor. It has taken nearly an hour each time for them to fetch the crickets. Wait for checkout is extremely long. read more

This Petco is a bit smaller than some of the others I've been too, but it's rather clean. I think their supply selection could be better, but the main part of the store is fine--there's plenty of food to choose from at least. The issue is that their grooming department is horrible. Aside from incompetent and rude staff, the actual tubs/grooming areas are disgusting. I've seen a bit of moldy black stuff in their tubs, the towels they use are never clean. There's been a dog barking in distress every single time I've been there. I can never understand why anyone would trust these people to groom their pets! read more

This review is solely for Macario (sp) in the groomers.... I had previously taken my dog, Nana to Petsmart and the last 2 times, I had to be called to come pick her up due to anger issues from my dog. I'd been getting Nana groomed for years with no problems but Nana's getting older and meaner and Petsmart, couldn't handle her. So I took her to a groomers within a Vet's office and told her she might want to sedate Nana, but 30 minutes later I got a call and had to pick up my dirty, ratty Nana. So....Nana had been getting dirtier and her hair had gotten matted and awful, Yes sure, I could have taken my scissors and clippers and hose to her myself, but I have a 3 year old and 7 month old daughter and Nana has been pushed down the food chain line. (No don't judge me pet parents, you don't know). Either way, it finally got to me and so I decided I would try Petco, so I called and explained the whole situation, I didn't leave out a thing about Nana's anger or how ratty she was, but Macario said "it should be fine".....And it was better than that! He took her and had her shaved and clean with bows in her hair within an hour!!! He told me she did great and I left there smiling from ear to ear. I will forever bring Nana to this store and to Macario, only not so filthy. Thanks again, she looks amazing! read more

I don't know how exactly how I feel about this place but I do tolerate it. They definitely need to work on their customer service. If you really want someone nice that will actually answer your questions...expect something more like of a hit or miss with their employees. I work down the street and I am a Petco Pals member which is why I mainly go their. They stay clean and IF someone is up front then I will get greeted. The only real issues I have had with them is the bad attitude of SOME employees, I have waited for over 10 minutes for someone to actually acknowledge me up front when I was trying to check out, and when they accidentally overcharged me for 8 cans of cat food (but that was partly my fault because the cashier and I were talking about our cats). Self-service dog wash on this side of the town is so RARE that I was so excited to found out this Petco has it and for only $10! However, there is only ONE self-wash station; first come, first-served and they will use the station for their appointments, too. The person who witnessed this was very distraught and when she went back to check on the kittens, the manager was argumentative. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` ANIMAL ABUSE ATTENTION: I just went to the Petco located in the Chino Spectrum and witnessed the associate trapping a kitten under a blanket. He closed the door and walked away. I looked at the other kitten in the cage and then noticed that the blanket kept moving but no kitten would come out. After minutes I called over an associate to open and check on the kitten. His keys didn't work so he got the other associate who originally I saw (named Stephen) and he took his time and walked over to the cage. He then opened it and handed the other free kitten to a lady waiting and began to close the door completely disregarding the kitten struggling in the blanket. I caused an issue and after much arguing and attitude from him he finally tried to get the kitten out under the blanket. He had to completely UNROLL the TUCKED blanket and it took him around 30secs just to do a simple task because of how tightly closed the blanket was. Finally after getting it undone the kitten IMMEDIATELY popped its head out and ran out. The lady who was waiting by ended being the original foster parent and wanted both of the kittens back. He argued and told her off saying "yeah you're not getting these kittens". I made a manager come out and she continued to blow off the ENTIRE situation and didn't care about the kitten and defended her associate while he stood there smirking and making faces at us. (Manager is named Brittany). The foster parent told me to contact corporate and began to take a picture of the associate and manager and the associate laughed and threw up a peace sign and posed for the pictures. The manager continued to avoid the situation. THIS NEEDS TO GET FIXED BEFORE THE POOR KITTENS ARE PURPOSELY KILLED BY THE OWN ASSOCIATES AT PETCO. As a community member, horrified and startled to hear about the ANIMAL ABUSE taking place here, and the staffs disturbing behavior during and afterwards. And this was only what was actually witnessed. Usually in abuse situations of any kind, what happens without witnesses is significantly worse. This Petco is understaffed. I walked the entire store looking lost and couldn't find anyone to assist me. I had to walk up to the counter and ask for assistance. The young lady at the checkout was kind enough to walk me to the item that I couldn't locate. I noticed a dog training session going on in the front area of the store behind a short partition where every guest could observe the one on one session. The store seemed to have many options for all types of animals. They had small pets for adoption, including kittens. read more

BEWARE! Bought a parakeet from here for my kids just over a month ago. Beautiful bird but we started noticing he had some kind of buildup on his feet and around his beak. After taking him to the vet we had to have him put down because he was infested with burrowing mites and even with proper treatment the bird would not have much of a life(his beak was chipping away). Now I get to explain to my kids why their pet is no longer with us. Will never EVER shop here again. Disgusting. read more

These two stars are for the helpfulness and attitudes of the two PetCo associates who assisted me. The three absent stars are for the manager on duty; specifically her rude attitude towards me. We went in to pick our first Beta fish. My children looked at each one of the least expensive kind, and they picked their favorite. It was marked on the side as a male veil tail, the sign said these were $3.99. After we paid, the total seemed high, so I checked my receipt and they charged me for a $9.99 fish. It was mislabeled, but instead of accepting their mistake, they chose another fish for us. We were disappointed but accepted it. Then for the return the manager was super rude, ignoring my question and repeated her instructions like I was a child on her last nerve. I know we checked out just as they were closing, but that is no reason to be disrespectful and rude. Next time we will go to Kahoots. read more
