Every time I come here I remind myself not to come back, then I forget and that's on me. Customer service is absolutely atrocious. There is nobody out on the floors to help and every time I check out I am met with the absolute worst attitude. Something was wrong with a price and I questioned it and the guy behind the cash register acted like I was twisting his arm, gave me a complete attitude and then basically tossed my bag at me. We've been taking our dog here for almost 3 years. Our groomer Jessica has always gone above and beyond in every aspect. We were always greeted with the warmest smiles upon entering and exiting. April always left happy and with a smile on her face. Jessica truly cares about the dogs she works with. We are sad to be moving too faraway to visit anymore. Bad customer service today. I was ready to buy some fish for my new aquarium this evening. I noticed a worker cleaning the aquariums that did not hesitate to acknowledge me, It was ok, I didn't mind since I had not chosen the fish I wanted yet. The guy continued to do what he was doing without ever asking if I needed anything. Once I knew the fish I wanted, I went to front of the store and asked for some assistance. I assume the guy at the check out stand reached out to the guy at the aquariums, as I heard some mumbling while I walked back to the aquariums. Once again, I was ignored, I waited five minutes with no assistance. I just ended up walking out after that. Total buzz kill. On 10/19/2024, I took my one-year-old puppy to the Chino Petco for routine vaccinations. The veterinarian on duty was Jane Dill. Due to Jane's unprofessionalism and poor injection technique, my puppy originally needed only two shots, ended up getting six shots just to administer the two vaccines properly. I am extremely disappointed, angry, and saddened by this experience. Not only did my puppy endure unnecessary pain, but I am also deeply concerned about its health. As a professional pet service provider, such mistakes are absolutely unacceptable and I want to caution other pet owners to avoid such situations. My dog has been groomed at this location several times before without significant issues. However, during this visit, the groomer Julia and the manager were unable to handle my dog and were unwilling to groom her in the future. And told me to search another groomer from another company. They also kept complaining about my dog's behavior, which I found unprofessional and upsetting. I understand that grooming can sometimes be challenging, but I expect professional groomers to have the patience and skills to manage such situations. The response I received from the staff and manager was not only unhelpful but also felt dismissive. As a loyal customer, I find this attitude unacceptable and not in line with the professional standards I expect from Petco. read more

This PetCo branch store came to the rescue when I was actually looking for a backyard decoration, a legit Bird Feeder for Wild Finches/Sparrows to dine from! I'll have to take a pic of it, but it's a small enough clear and dark blue feeder. These small wild birds have loved swinging on this feeder while enjoying their daily meals at my backyard for at least a few couple years now since 2020. I actually bought 2 feeders, but the squirrel had to climb up the other white one & knocked down 2 pieces of plastic cup lids (I used the upside down cup lids on top of this feeder to hold bird food) down, so I ended up confiscating the other white one and only kept this dark blue one for Finches/Sparrows to use. read more

This location is small and not very busy. I was in a bind and decided to pick up some dog food from here and also a couple toys for the babies. I was looking for some dental sticks for the puppies but they had a small selection so I will have to look online to see if there is more of a selection elsewhere. Pricing isn't really competitive (they only price match their website) at all their locations. I wish their Petco policy would be a little better as far as beating competitors prices (Amazon, Chewy, Target etc) read more

I had asked about Critical Care Herbivore Emergency food for my bunny cause she had just got surgery and was not eating well. When asked he kept going what are you asking for multiple times after already explaining what it was and then for what animal. When I told him it was for a bunny he had the audacity to keep correcting me when I was saying bunny by saying a Rabbit, three times with a rude ass prick tone. I finally gave in was like yea sure a rabbit and then proceeded to say oh yeah we don't have that we have rabbit food, rabbit treats, etc... So he knew already they didn't have it he just wanted to be a D***! To add this is also not the first time he's been been rude either! This unacceptable. Your employee named "Ingrid" was blatantly racist and unprofessional to another customer. I saw a customer walk into the store (of Asian decent) and was looking in the 75% off area as I was. Most of the items didn't have tags. The person asked how much the item was and Ingrid said " no price, no sell" ( in a very dismissive and condescending manner). The person seemed confused and didn't speak English well enough to communicate this. When I asked about pricing next, Ingrid had no issues helping me because I spoke English. I asked about the same item that had no pricing and she helped me right away. Just because someone's first language isn't English doesn't mean you shouldn't not help them. I have always been a fan of Petco. They offer a lot of great services and pets alike. As I don't have a pet that requires me to visit Petco on a regular basis, this recent visit of mine was my first since COVID started. My first thought was that the store should be maintaining social distancing a little better. People were huddled together looking at the animals without a care about social distancing. That being said, I understand that it isn't really the stores fault people are not being cognizant, but I think it would have been beneficial to enforce a strict 6 feet apart guideline and/or a limited capacity for the number of people allowed in the store at one time. I had a very good experience with the staff in the store. I was looking for some items for my fish tank and the staff were very knowledgeable and eager to help. I also appreciated that Petco price matches with their online store. All you have to do is show them the item from their online store and they will correct the price at check-out. I also liked the wide variety of fishes that they had. Overall, it was a good experience. read more

But If there lucky gets cleaned twice a month. Bettas cups aren't changed weekly and animals are constantly dying or sick. I'm very disappointed. I've been bringing my girl here since I got her 5 months ago for grooming. Each time is a different experience, but I've been happy for the most part and at least been able to say my girl was in good hands. This last time is just totally upsetting though. She always works with my busy schedule to get my babies in for their regular appointments and they absolutely adore her. She is the only person, and I do mean the only person, that can trim my mastiff mix's nails without a fight and she is so attentive to them and their needs, especially as they have gotten older. I even drove 45 minutes to another location just so they could keep getting their baths with Anita. There is no one else I trust with my dogs. read more

Not sure why I switched to Petsmart because this place is WAY MORE FRIENDLIER than the Petsmart next to Costco that I have been going to. The selection is a lot smaller because the store is smaller but they carry way more toys and better quality toys here. Best of all, I bought a Tuffy toy for my dog after hearing the great reviews but sadly it seemed defective at the seams as my dog tore the edges the second day. I called the store and without any trouble or questions they let me do an easy return. This made a huge difference because something similar happened to me at Petsmart with a $40 toy purchase and the toys were cheaply made but they refused to offer me an exchange. The staff here were very helpful in trying to help me find the perfect toy for my puppy chihuahua and they have great deals throughout the store. I ordered a cage online for pickup. This is not my closest Petco but this was the only one that had the cage available so I drove 30 minutes to pick it up. When I picked it up the box was taped up and Alec the associate said it was like that due to it being shipped. I had asked if it was a return and he said no. Before leaving I asked for them to open it up. The cage had hay on it and the plastic part had dried urine and was used. I can't believe I was charged $59.99 for this! It was disgusting! The grooming team was super nice and friendly and did a wonderful job on my eleven year old dog soonee but once I got home and while I was rubbing her tummy K realized a pink spot on her paw and as I looked it seemed like blood so I looked at her nails and her nails were cut too short and i think this caused the bleeding.... I know sometimes groomers might cut too short or idk a mistake??? ‍ but I would've liked an update or summary on what happened especially because I asked how everything went when I picked her up.....:/ I loved the service but my trust and confidence has decreased on their service and transparency ....:(( read more

I brought my Yorkie here to get groomed. It was my first time getting her groomed ( she had a previous owner). We ran into a hiccup with her rabies certificate so they couldnt see her at her appt time but they worked with me and allowed me to bring her on later that day. I know they are super busy so I was grateful. On top of that they did a great job and my Sophia was happy when I picked her up. We will continue to bring her here. read more

Took our 12 year old arthritic retriever for a nail trim and tooth brushing. Everything was fine until I picked her up. Our dog does not like slippery floors so was having trouble walking to me and sat down. Instead of being patient and try to coax her, the groomer just slid her across the floor further causing our dog to be even more anxious of being there. I'm capable of reading the bag thank you very much. My question was regarding which food would best for my large breed dog. You were very short and seemed like you didn't even want to be there. You have no sense of customer service. If a customer is asking you a question, and you don't have the expertise ask someone for help rather than just saying an "oh well you should know" or "it should be on the bag" type of response. My hudsband usually come here for shopping aquarium supplies, and the stuff who works at aquatic area is very helpful and professional. Today is June 20, my hudsband came here and called me to take children here because new cats arrived. When we got here at 5:30 pm there's a woman sitting before the cat cage, she told us the cat was not for adoption if we have children under the 6 years old, because the children could kill the cat. and she just said it while standing close to our children, and she even role play with her hand trying to grab the cat neck. I do not know what kind of bad experience she had, but how dare she implied our children could be cat murderers. It is so bad experience for today. So I wandered up and down aisles trying to find it on my own. They didn't have either item. So I went to the front where they were all together gossiping and having a good ol time. And I left. Not what I called good customer service if they ignore the customer and gossip with each other all three of them. It was only like 3 customers in the entire store including me.
