Today was the worst customer service I have experienced and this place is not it was before anymore. Mayra was very rude, I have been coming here for my dogs grooming and I never had a bad experience with the groomers until today. I will not recommend this place for grooming anymore . read more

The customer service at this location can definitely be improved however they did a great job on grooming my dog, Benny, and got him finished within 2 hours. Pricing is also reasonable as well for a full grooming package. read more

Petco - They did a great job on grooming! - Pet Stores Near Me - Brea, California

Basically, it's a large Petco (duh, right?). It seems really nice and big and mostly clean, however it's just all spread out and the selection kind of stinks. There is still a good amount of basic products, but the shelves are always a bit slim. Still, it's an okay Petco. It is not this location's fault that prices are what they are, the big pet chains run high. Let's face it, it costs a lot to keep Fluffy and Fido happy and maintained... and yes, they are worth every penny! I believe that reviews of chain stores really aren't based much on their product though... it's based on cleanliness, friendliness and over-and-above (or lousy) representation. This Petco is "meh". Although I do find the basic pet supplies and food that I need, I do not find many friendly and helpful faces. Yes, the faces are there, but the friendly and the helpful on them is normally void. I do love to visit Santa at this location because there is plenty of room!! Watch the schedule so that you too can take your babies to see Santa and have all their wildest Christmas dreams come true! The elves may be bored to tears and crabby, but at least you will get a cute picture for the holidays! I've never used any of the grooming or other services... review based solely on the store itself. read more

My dog is making me broke and she doesn't even give a shit Those are sure some nice pictures with this listing, aren't they? I wish this location actually looked like that. It's kind of dumpy. Especially when compared to the Petsmart directly across the street. The staff here is friendly enough but Petco fails in 2 important areas - price and appearance. Look, if I'm going to piss away a lot of money of my dog, I want to at least be fooled into thinking I'm really going all out. And the slightly run down dumpy look of this place doesn't do that for me. And while Petco and Petsmart are about even in their overall pricing for all their merchandise, I found Petco had higher prices for puppy items and other dog merchandise. I'm left with zero reasons to go back. Now, it's not a bad experience here - like I said, the staff is friendly enough and the store isn't a run down mess or anything - just slightly dumpy. But with cheaper and nicer options nearby - why return? Ultimately, it could come down to preference, but this store is definitely not my preference. read more

I left the groomers from this Petco today so mad. The grooming manager said my dog was too hyper and I would get charged more if I brought her back because my dog took her away from other paying customers because she had to help the other groomer finish grooming my dog. We have been grooming both our dogs there for years and all of a sudden now my dog is a problem? They did a horrible job and left me feeling like I should never bring my dog back there! Thank goodness I got a refund! Maybe pet grooming should not be this ladies type of work! She told me I should think about putting my dog in training before I bring her back or it could cost me a lot of money next time. read more

It sucks giving them only 2 stars because the customer service is great. They are nice and knowledgable, but that's the only reason I'm giving them any stars at all. BE CAREFUL WHEN BUYING PET FOOD, TREATS, ETC!!! They have expired products on the shelves. Today I bought a bag of rawhide chews for my pup and when I came home, I noticed it expired almost 3 months ago AND had a tear in the bag. (I guess I could have checked before buying, but there's no excuse for having that on the shelves!) This has happened to me more than once from this PetCo. Now I need to check the date on everything before buying it. Not okay! read more

I was treated so oddly by the staff. Both the groomer and the other person who bathes the dogs. However, they do a good job with Holly.

Went to petco for dog grooming for my 14 month old. Bridget does a great job with Sammie! We love the blueberry facial because Sammie smells so yummy. Would highly recommend coming here to take care of ur fur baby. read more

I have been coming to this location for a while now and let me tell you how bad this store has fallen. The employees don't seem very knowledgeable anymore and it seems like all your good employees are gone. Every time I come in the shelves are empty but they have piles of boxes out on the floor with merchandise that just sits there. And it's hard to know who the employees are specially when they are wearing hats like your employee with the pink hair was wearing tonight. I always come to this location but might have to start going elsewhere. read more

The is a review of the 'Vital Care' program that you pay a monthly subscription for. You can only get unlimited vet visits at 6 stores in CA. What a joke. It's a scam because they lock you in for a year. Take you business to a local shop. They're only in it for your $$$. read more

I had my dog here for boarding. She was there Friday to Sunday. They only fed my dog one time. My dog was fed Friday night. No other time. SHAME on them. They are terrible. I brought my puppy here this morning for his first grooming. After hearing some horror stories about a few of the other big-chain groomers nearby, I was initially hesitant, but decided to give it a chance. I have a 4 month old Australian Cattle Dog. As those that are familiar with the breed might be aware, they're not always the most friendly or forgiving breed. My husband and I worked really hard on socialization with him, so he's very friendly with people. When I brought him in, Bridget pointed out that he was quite friendly, and I appreciated that she demonstrated some understanding with the breed as they're not common around here and many are unfamiliar with them. The grooming took about an hour - just enough time for me to finish running some errands and grab him on the way home. Based on her report and his behavior when I picked him up (very happy and relaxed - despite the barking, which Bridget was very nice about), I'd say it was a very successful first grooming experience! I appreciate Bridget's patience with him - she was still able to get his nails, despite the fact that he didn't like it - and will certainly continue to work on his conditioning training and bring him back to Bridget for future grooming! read more

I've been going to this Petco ever since I adopted my little dudes, Thor and Loki, last year. As a first time dog owner, I wasn't sure about the best places for grooming. At first, I tried a local grooming shop for some nail trimming, and they cut Loki's nails too short. I figured I would try Petco since one of my friends recommended their grooming. The staff at this Petco is super friendly and accommodating; my dudes always come back glowing after their baths. Though they weren't comfortable with grooming at first, Mallory helped them acclimate. She's told me how well Thor, who can be feisty, behaves during his nail clipping. Overall, I recommend this Petco's grooming salon- even if your dog is totally nervous with anything grooming related- for their quality of service! read more

Frantic I went to Petco with a water bottle that didn't seem to be working for the guinea pigs i was "sitting". Kim was more than helpful. She took the bottle back where the sink was and showed me how to use it and then she washed it! I can't describe how relieved I was for her kind and friendly help. These are the facts: high turnover at this particular store. Staff is extremely rude and condescending, especially at the grooming department if they ever pick up their phones or call you back, not to mention their prices are not remotely competitive. If you go across the street to Petsmart, you'll see the complete opposite. The store is always busy, staff is super friendly, prices are competitive, and they even have a dog daycare there! These are the facts and the facts are indisputable. Not sure how much longer the store is going to last... I hope it goes the way of Sport Chalet a few doors down. BTW if you like waiting 6+ hours to get your pet groomed every single time (weekday or weekend), this is the place for you! read more

I love this location!!! I have been bringing my dog here for years. When I moved from Brea to La Mirada, I decided to give the new La Habra location a shot when they opened since they were closer to me. Big mistake. La Habra didn't do as good a job and was $10 more in price. I don't mind driving the extra distance to Brea as Austin and Mallory always do my Morkie Eli up right and never complain about him being a little touchy when it comes to his nails. They are super thorough and check my fur baby over before taking him back. Plus, they are super quick; only an hour and a half for full cut and treatment. Keep up the great work you guys! I will definitely be making the drive to keep giving you our business. =) read more

By far the best pet store I've been to. From the moment my boyfriend and I stepped foot in the door with our new puppy, we were greeted and provided excellent customer service. The staff is very friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure your questions are answered, without pressuring you to buy something. Our puppy currently attends training and socialization classes and today she had her first mini trim, and we couldn't be more pleased! They sure know how to guide you to being the best pet owner you can be. read more

this is for Sage in the grooming salon! normally when i take my dog to other groomers, he gets anxious and i get told they can't do his nails because he was "squirmy". Sage was able to clean his ears, do a gland expression, and not only that but she was able to clip AND grind his nails, he came out so excited he didn't want to leave! overall she was helpful and friendly from start to finish. she answered all my questions, and she provided great care and grooming for my dog. will definitely be going back to the grooming department next time. read more

Absolute terrible experience. I returned a dog rain jacket that was purchased in store and returned in store and never received my refund. After multiple calls to petco's customer service (for the direct store & corporate) and even my bank the only information that was given was that my refund of $21.54 was refunded back to a card ending in numbers that do not match any of my accounts or cards. I informed the woman who I spoke to that I can bring my bank statement in and to show that the numbers do not match my accounts but was informed it wouldn't do anything. I was told whatever card I inserted for the refund was the card I received the refund to but that was not the case. I'm not sure if there was a computer glitch or where my refund went but it wasn't refunded back to me or any of my accounts. At this point it's not the amount that is owed to me but the frustration & effort I had to put in to simply be refunded. I will never be back to petco this whole experience has turned me off as a customer who purchases from this store at least a month for my pets. If I knew this was going to be the case I would of just kept the dog rain jacket and avoided all the unnecessary stress & drama. If you're ever making a return at this store I recommend you check to ensure you really receive your refund because there's some weird stuff going on here on the back-end. read more

This review's intended purpose is simply to recognize outstanding customer service I received from Cori. I believe she is the assistant manager or manager of the store. I had the pleasure of interacting with her on two separate occasions. As soon as I shared with her that I was preparing to adopt a new doggie she responded with such support and enthusiasm. It blessed me deeper than words can say. She was so friendly and attentive and really made me feel that she supported my efforts with regards to the adoption. She is truly an asset to this particular Petco. read more

The place has gone through several changes with managers and groomers coming and going. I've been using the service for several years until recently. They got my appointment wrong and when I got there I had to wait for 15 mins for someone to check me in . No sight of employee. I was told there was only one groomer working and that my dog's service would be delayed. I'd have rescheduled had I got a call which most groomer usually do the previous day to confirm the appointment. It's not the first it happened until I couldn't tolerate it anymore. What's the point of having a manager when he/she is never onsite leaving one groomer to run the place?! Thus, this Petco grooming service isn't as busy due to poor management. read more

I took my dog in last weekend for the 1st time to Petco to be groomed. She gets very nervous when shes around unfamiliar people in unfamiliar places & I warned them of this. The guy who was helping me, Jordan, was so nice and just great with my dog. After just 5 minutes she was sitting in his lap and completely relaxed and calm. I felt comfortable leaving her and not worried at all. When I arrived to pick her up Jordan went to get her and she looked beautiful AND happy! Her fur was clean, she looked fluffy & she smelled so good. I couldn't believe that her bath was just $15 and to get her toenails done was just $5 (she is a small dog chihuahua/spaniel mix). $20 and my dog was clean and happy. I will absolutely take her back to Petco for her next grooming. They/Jordan was AWESOME!! read more

Got my dogs groomed here. Really, for a big retailer, they did a great job and the staff was friendly. I will be taking them back!

Worst customer service I've experienced with a groomer. I booked an appointment over the phone for my 15 year old dog to be groomed with no issues, then when we arrived for the appointment which was 5 days later, the groomer told us they couldn't accept our dog because of a new policy stating they no longer groom dogs over the age of 11. When asked why the appointment wasn't cancelled by Petco, the groomer told us she was too busy and didn't have time to call and cancel the appointment. I understand the policy, but the blatant disrespect of our time and lack of policy transparency is unacceptable. When asked where this policy is written, she replied that company policies are confidential. Unbelievable. read more

"Wooowooowooo, ow wow wow," says Jackie, head hung out the window. She has just realized that we have pulled into her favorite shopping spot and she just has to sing about it. So, for this review, I am merely an interpreter. After all, how can I possible Yelp about a place that isn't for me? Me: Jackie, what do you like so much about Petco? Jackie: Oh, the smells, the smells, the smells! Me: There is a huge selection of tasty food and treats, all packed up. You can't open them here. Doesn't that matter? Jackie: Are you kidding? I know you'll leave with a bag of dog food and at least a few treats for me. Right? Treats! Me: What about the service? Jackie: Didn't I say treats? I love those folks at the check-out counter. Me: How do you feel about the pets waiting for forever homes on the weekends? Jackie: What luck that they can be here to shop for their forever person. Me: So, how would you sum up a review of Petco? Jackie: Woowoowoo, ow wow wow! read more

Until today, I had decent dog grooming service for the past two years. Very expensive compared to independent local stores, but is convenient to drop in. Today was a fiasco. I dropped my dog off at his appointment time. I have a Bichon Frise, a white fluffy cottonball. They have been charging me anywhere from $45-55 for his previous grooming. This time, without asking they adding two six dollar charges for shampoo and conditioning! Apparently it's no longer considered part of grooming. Then the manager had the nerve to tell me that she explained it to me and I agreed to it. I had to then call the Store Manager over to help me deal with this really rude Grooming Manager. The Store Manager was just as rude and neither of them attempted to correct the situation. I then noticed that my dog had at least a dozen nicks and was bleeding. I lost it. They wouldn't take off the $12 of charges that I DID not authorize (ENDED UP COSTING $65!) and could care less that the groomer cut my dog all up. I told them (and everyone else in earshot) that I would never take my dog there again and would also discourage any one else who loves their dog from having their dog groomed there. Excellent Customer service!!!! Most friendliest Petco I have ever been to!! Was asked if my gf and I needed help on multiple occasions and my each staff member on the floor. I was amazed on how many times they popped out of nowhere to see if we needed help finding things.....most likely because my gf and I had no clue what to buy. Because of those 3 workers I WILL be coming back. It is a little farther from my house, but I could care less. Customer service like that cannot be passed up Tall female working counter has a GREAT personality. Man with beard and glasses asked me at LEAST three times if we needed help. Shorter guy with somewhat spiked hair asked us twice if we wanted to view any of the pets on display These three are an awesome crew. Ok I'm done. I've put too much here haha:D -Happy Customer read more

I prefer this Petco location over the PetSmart across the street, mainly because I hate dealing with the crowded Wal-Mart plaza. Petco is in a less-busy plaza, so parking is never a problem and pedestrian foot traffic is minimal. I used to feed my cats Eukanuba, but when there was a nationwide Eukanuba shortage (I'm still baffled over that one...), a helpful Petco employee recommended another brand which costs roughly the same and supposedly has less filler. My cats seemed to like it well enough, and their fur is still shiny and healthy, so I'm happy with it. It was nice to receive assistance from an employee who was knowledgeable about the products that the store carries. Thanks, Petco! read more
