I was looking to add another goldendoodle to my little family and found River Doodles on yelp. I put my name on the waitlist and got an email a few months later! Yes it was a few months but the wait was so worth it and you'll find that when you initially start the search it takes that long anyway to find a place (I'm convinced COVID has put this breed more in demand). The entire process - from adding yourself to the waitlist to picking up your new pup - is so efficient, professional and rewarding. You get constant updates on the litter you are choosing from and get to meet the puppy in person if you choose to. Since we are still in quarantine at this time, Kelly has set guidelines in place to make sure you have as little contact with people as possible. We were specifically looking for a Goldendoodle and found River Doodles on Yelp! A plus was that they were local. The process of applying to the waitlist, getting selected and the purchase was easy as presented. Photos updates on the company website were enjoyable and we could visit our puppy 2 weeks prior to pickup. We wanted a girl and mostly black. You surely take a chance on your wish but things worked out great. We received Pizzelle (Pink Girl from Sophie Griffin's litter) at age 8 weeks. She is healthy, happy and well-tempered. She was also basically potty trained and has adapted well to her doggie door and potty area. She sleeps pretty well through the night and only woke us up early the first week. I can't say enough about the great mix of professionalism and personal care from Kelly. She knows her dogs and is so knowledgeable about the pups. I got my pup during COVID but she did an amazing job making it a personal experience. She sent a great, detailed video in advance as well as an informative email with lots of tips about training your pup. I love that Kelly's entire family helps raise the pups - it's such a loving home. I even got a video of all of the puppies exploring the yard and getting into the play pools, going up steps - great socialization. One of the best things is that my puppy was that he was trained to go potty in a small bin with pellets - amazing! And he was trained to sleep in a crate, whining was minimal on Night 1 only. I have had a wonderful experience with River Doodles. So much so, I have 3 of her puppies. =) I have had a Dalmatian for 14 years and a Great Dane for 10 1/2 years. While I loved them both, neither compare to the nature and disposition of my sweet 3 doodles. My adventure with River Doodles started when my Great Dane passed away. I insisted to my friend that I didn't want another dog. She insisted I did need another and told me about Java, whom River Doodles had purchased as a stud. While River Doodles had not bred Java, he is from a separate breeder to be a stud for her doodles, she made a point to ensure he went to a good home and she made appointments to get his hips and eyes checked for health screening before breeding him. My husband and I had such a wonderful experience with Java, when he had his first liter, we brought his daughter home, Emma. She is a Bernedoodle. River Doodles had her pre-screened by a vet, micro-chipped, sent home a folder with her genealogy tree, and food. The sweetest part, River Doodles sent Emma home with a piece of the blanket she slept on with her mama so Emma had her mother's smell to help her adapt to her new home with us. River Doodle dogs are so gentle and well mannered. We purchased a sweet English Golden Doodle boy named Oliver for my son who lives in Colorado. He is truly a gentle soul. There is just something incredibly sweet about Oliver. I just can't tell you enough how incredibly happy they make me each and every day. The 3 get along so well, they are truly buddies. River Doodles is very open and honest. If you ask, the breeder will answer any and every question honestly. The breeder doesn't mind if you visit often. If you are close by, take the time to visit any liters she has available. She will spend time with you even if you aren't ready to purchase. Kelly made what could have been very impersonal due to the circumstances, personal. She shared multiple videos so that we could get to know the puppies personalities ensuring each puppy went to the right home. She sent us information ahead of our take home date to ensure we were well prepared. And, when it came to the big day, Kelly and her daughter made it special with a take home bag including a blanket, toy and Snuggle Puppy which smelled like Sophie's mom and litter mates. This made Sophie's transition to our home much less stressful for her. It is obvious that Kelly and her family include the puppies into their lives from birth. Sophie is well adjusted, a total cuddle bug and super smart. At 11 weeks she is a quick learner. She jingles a bell by the door to go outside to potty (and play...we are working on that ). BE WARY OF THIS BREEDER!! The Friday night before we were pick up our selected puppy, the breeder sent an email to inform us our puppy (and 2 others) had a less than perfect check-up at a vet appointment that occurred earlier in the week. The breeder refused to let us wait until Monday to pick up the pup and have our vet assess the issue. We picked up the puppy on Saturday, and on Monday, when we had our own vet check out the puppy, the same defect was found. Also noteworthy was that our puppy did not have a microchip, despite it being advertised as being provided by the breeder. Our vet did everything reasonable to locate the microchip promised by the breeder. When I notified the breeder, the breeder refused to reimburse us for a microchip. Lastly, the website states each puppy will have a 2-year guarantee against genetic disease, yet some of the genetic results tests were not reported. DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT IS PROMISED ON THE BREEDER's WEBSITE! I WOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BREEDER! read more

The vet was impressed with the health of the pup & all the documents Kelly provided in our take home folder that showed testing and vaccinations. Kelly was wonderful to work with. When it came time for section day, it happened to be the day our son was flying back to college after winter break. She was kind enough to let us come by the night before so our son could see the puppy's. She did not tell me it was her sons 18th birthday & she was setting up for a party. We had a GREAT experience with Kelly at River Doodles. Her whole family raises these healthy, beautiful pups in their home. She is responsive and patient with questions and she absolutely delivered on all commitments on her website. She was flexible with our schedule on selection day allowing us to select remotely. On pick up day since we had to travel via air to pick up our pup she re-arranged her schedule so that my daughter and I could pick up the pup together on Sunday. Our phantom chocolate tri- color petite F1B Goldendoodle had a healthy vet check that our own San Francisco vet validated within 48 hours of bringing him home. His temperament is so sweet and playful and he socializes well to all noises and people. When we picked him up at 8 weeks, he had already had his first round vaccinations and proactive deworming (Panacur, Toltrazuril and DAPP) and he was microchipped. Kelly also provided full copies of the Canine Genetic Health Certificate of each parent, as well as the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) reports, Canidae Food, Mothers Blanket and dog toy and information on vitamins, pet insurance, vaccination schedule, safety information, emergency info, over the counter dog medications tips, even recipes for home-made dog treats. We were able to meet the dame (mother) Moxie too...Kelly's daughter even made our pup a special 'Happy Birthday' bandana since we adopted our Goldendoodle in honor of my daughter's birthday. Before making the payment, I also spoke with references which were all positive - one family had adopted 3 dogs from Kelly over the years and was thrilled with their experience every time. Since Kelly is not actively on social media, I just wanted to provide this feedback as the other review from Nov 2017 is in total contradiction to my experience and that of other references I spoke with....and hopefully that pup is now healthy and well or the situation resolved.
