We are very thankful for this rescue and Danielle. It was a great experience and we are happy with our Rebate!

We are so grateful to have found our sweet little girl from Animal Prayers! Our rescue pup is so sweet! She is already such a wonderful addition to our family! Danielle was helpful once I got in touch with the rescue and she offered to be available for questions and training tips after we adopted. She has been very quick to respond the few times I texted with a follow up question. I would recommend this rescue.

We live in Las Vegas adopted the best puppy in the world, Milo! He's so sweet and cute. Danielle was responsive and helpful. Elisse drove to meet us half-way and was very caring. I recommend adoption through Animal Prayers and got the exact breed and pet I was hoping for!

PUPPY MILL!!! DO NOT WASTE your time applying here if you expect a fair or professional process!!! After spending over four hours on a detailed application following the loss of our beloved Yorkie of 9 years, we were met with nothing but hostility and bias from a representative named Danielle. No empathy or sympathy for the loss of our beloved Yorkie either. The entire operation is incredibly SUSPICIOUS. All "POSITIVE" reviews are made by a FAKE account!! Look at those accounts they are not real people. There is no listed phone number or any way to contact the organization besides an email address. When Danielle called after hours from her private cellphone, it was with children screaming so loudly in the background that we could barely hear. When we asked for her name and organization, a necessary step since my husband has partial hearing loss, she became immediately defensive. Without speaking to us for even two minutes, she made snap judgments, assumed we were "applying everywhere," because we were waiting to hear back from another shelter about donating our Yorkies toys and food. She immediately stereotyped and told us we weren't a fit. We never mentioned having "multiple applications to other shelters" it was a random lie she made up out of nowhere. Even IF we were looking to adopt two dogs from two different shelters or rescues, it is absurd to rescue 2 dogs in need of a home? My sister has 3 dogs she rescued from 3 different shelters?? We are trying to give a dog in need a loving home! We are dedicated pet parents who treated our previous dog like family; she was spayed, spoiled, and traveled everywhere with us!! As a Registered Nurse and an adoptee myself, I chose adoption over a breeder because I believe in the cause, but Danielle turned it into a nightmare. She replied with racist stereotypes (my husband is Indian) and showed blatantent discrimination rather than looking at our qualifications as responsible, loving owners. The dogs are over $800 without even spaying/ neutering, which is a red flag as well. Between the lack of a contact number, the unprofessional conduct, and the immediate dismissal, I am very suspicious that this is a backyard breeding operation "claiming to be a rescue. There's no address or location to meet and many many reviews claim there are numerous dogs crammed in one cage and many were filthy and had severe health issues. It really sounds like a puppy mill operation or back yard breeder. To be turned down based on prejudice before a real conversation even started is a disgrace. This is not an ethical "rescue" and was reported for being an unethical breeder by numerous people!!

Danielle and Ellise with Animal Prayers Rescue in San Pedro are two of the kindest and most giving people I have ever met. The love they show, and the caring they provide, to these little misplaced, ignored, neglected, and forgotten bundles of fur is incredible. I was initially hesitant to foster a dog because of my busy work schedule. I thought "I don't have time for another dog". Danielle suggested that I not "overthink it" because I would be "fostering" a dog and she would help me figure it all out. I thought "that's true" but once I met my new little pal (that I named "Girlfriend"), the thought of fostering went out the window! Literally, within 10 minutes of meeting my her, I was overwhelmed with joy, excitement, anxiety, and sadness. I thought "how could someone not fall in love with this little girl"? At that point I realized I was ready to make some changes to my lifestyle so I could provide her with a life of love, safety, fun and food that she had never experienced before. As the saying goes "who rescued who?", that applies to me. She is a welcomed member to my family. Danielle and Ellise are angels. They are "the boots on the ground" for rescuing abused and neglected animals, and getting them to a safe place. I was always relieved to read about a dog's life being saved by someone, but I never really thought about how hard it was for that "someone" who was actually doing the rescue. These people have jobs and kids like many of us, but yet they are committed enough to provide the hands on effort of saving these dogs' lives. They are a Godsend.

Thank you for our little sweet boy! We named him Cody Had a great experience with Danielle at Animal Prayers they are very thorough in their background check!

We had a wonderful experience with Animal Prayers. They are very passionate about what they do and they care a lot about the rescue animals. We recently adopted a shih poo and he is the sweetest! Danielle assisted us throughout the process and it was smooth and fast. Highly recommend to anyone looking to adopt.

Danielle was easy to reach and had clear communication. When we went to visit the dog we were interested in, we were not rushed and spent an hour with the dog before making a decision. Danielle was clear and direct with the adoption steps and even helped us schedule a low cost neutering appointment. Although very shy at first, our pup has blossomed into a great family dog with a ton of personality.

The adoption of Ollie was quick and easy. We met at a convenient place interviewed each other and then met and interacted with Ollie. Since it seemed a good match I was able to take him home immediately. The rescue gave me both the good and bad qualities of Ollie, (likes to counter surf), and it was a good description. I am happy to welcome Ollie into my home.

I don't generally like to be this blunt without further explanation, but I think the other 1 star reviews on here and the attached screenshot clearly show that there is something wrong with the owners here. There was nothing that my husband said (it was a very short, basic question, lol) that warranted such an aggressive and nonsensical response. If the dog being listed as available on PetFinder was a mistake, you could just say so. Also, what's with the sudden exclamation points? Please save yourself the confusion and don't even contact this place. I hope these dogs somehow find a safe and good home, away from the owners of this so-called shelter.

With the same thinking, it would not be fair to have a dog here ......unless of course it lived indoors with us. We were blindsided when our son brought Buffy two years ago. He just showed up, and like "Here!" She followed him everywhere from one end of the house to the other and back and forth. When he left she cried and whimpered. I laid down on the floor with her and she looked at me with soulful brown eyes, pleading, "Please help me!" I cried and hugged her and told her, "I love you!" That was it! She was mine. It took some adjusting to my new mommy role added on top of the other things I do everyday. When it became apparent I was keeping her, I contacted GTTDR and spoke with Marcy. She explained their dogs are never to be taken out of state and that she wanted to send someone to Las Vegas to do a home inspection. Laurie came for the visit and saw how happy Buffy was. I allowed her to take photos and send it to Marcy. Laurie seemed pleased that Buffy had a good home, but was quite prepared to take her back to California if requirements weren't met. Marcy said, "So I hear your home is fabulous......" I was impressed that GTTDR went to such lengths. Thanks to Heather also for rescuing Buffy from a kill shelter. Two years later, we love Buffy more than you can imagine. She is family. She is three now. Though she is my primary responsibility for care, etc. she loves her dad and her grandma who lives with us. She gets three walks a day at three different parks in the area. She has tons of doggy and people friends and she loves to run and chase birds, rabbits and chipmunks. She is the fastest runner at any of the parks. Her vet says she's athletic, referring to her muscle tone. In the beginning she couldn't walk on a leash without pulling. She barked at everyone and every dog even if it were two blocks away. Now, she walks off-leash, listens to commands, understands everything I say, and has helped other dogs come out of their shell. She wants to be friends with all dogs with the exception of one. She looks to me to see if I give the okay to say 'hello' and she wags her tail and goes to the other dog/s. She is the sweetest soul you will ever meet. Everyone loves Buffy. She is good when visitors come and loves attention they give. She has such confidence and isn't shy about gentle pawing to get more rubs. On our walk this morning, she turned back to look at me with such a loving look, my friend asked, "What was that look?" I said, "She loves me!" He said, "That's what it looked like!" I'm happy she's ours. She deserves a good home and all the love she gets. She is secure and happy. Don't buy. Rescue!

After just 5 days they transferred it to a Rescue. The process was so secretive that Animal Control would not even tell me the name of the rescue service. After some serious digging I found out the cat had been transferred to Rover Rescue. They're almost 900 miles away even though we have several rescues within 50 miles. I immediately called Rover Rescue and found out they did have the cat and that it will be going to an adoption event this weekend. They REFUSED to tell me where the event was being held. I wasn't trying to get preferential treatment. I just wanted to have an equal opportunity to re-adopt this cat that has lived with me for the last year and a half and they refused to tell me where it was. Clearly they are not interested in getting animals back with loving families. I really hope it ends up with a good family but it was a stray I took off the streets. It had settled into our family very well. Now they are going to make the cat go through that again. It's also very concerning to me about how secretive the process is, even the name of the organization. Don't know anything about them except today's very inadequate interaction but that level of secrecy is not a good sign.

And several days later I picked up my girl from the Vet. Kathy was very helpful and thoughtful with her advice. Foxy came with a leash and a collar and we were given a bag of food to get us started. I love this organization, they do amazing work rescuing IMO the most adorable pooches. I want another one but I don't think Ms. Foxy is ready for a buddy quite yet. IMO the rescue fee is comparable and totally fair. You get a itemized list of all the fees they pay while the dog in their care. You don't have an obligation to pay those fees but it really did show me how much money it does take to save these animals.

It was only 48 hours before getting this dog that the foster parent, not the rescue, informed me she had a prolapse rectum. The shelter didn't even know. Outside of being told she had a small cataract in her left eye, was told nothing else was wrong. In fact, the owner said she was "perfect.". This dog had dental disease, severe scarring in both ears and eyes to where she had limited vision and hearing. She was not potty trained at all. She was also severely underweight and could not handle a walk more than about four houses down my street. I agreed to take her with the understanding she would get the prolapse surgery after I got her, paid for by the shelter. The owner continued to disagree with every vet that saw her to talk about the surgery. No vet wanted to operate on her because she was malnourished and it was unclear why she was not able to gain any weight. All three vets said she should go on a hydrolyzed protein diet. The owner of the shelter refused stating the only food I could feed her was farmers dog. Finally after two months, the owner said I could put her on hydrolyzed protein food and she started gaining some weight. She had to get an ultrasound before the hospital would agree to do the surgery at that point. It took six weeks for the shelter to connect with the hospital that did the ultrasound to talk about next steps for the surgery. By that point I had had this dog for over three months and was dealing with all of the stuff I mentioned above. Because of all that at some point, I decided I could not do it anymore. It was a very painful decision to make and the shelter, made it extremely hard for me in the end. They were difficult to communicate with. I agreed to just fly her back to LA myself and the plan then changed three different times. They said they would come get her on a certain day, then changed it to another day then I said I would just bring her like I had planned then they asked me to keep her until they could find a place for her even though they said they had a place for her to go. Long story short it was extremely hard. I will put pictures of the texts from the owner in the end, who told me to literally stop complaining. The amount of time and money I spent out of my own pocket on this dog was significant. I thought at least an apology would be given, when I asked for one, the worker at the shelter stayed silent on the phone. And then the owner told me to stop complaining as you can see in the text photos. I share this to warn other people about what you might go through if you try to adopt a dog through them.
