Summer AFTER Noah's bark saved her!
    Angela A.

I've been volunteering for over a year now with this organization & I love them!!! They're so supportive & their knowledge of medical conditions are amazing. They step in to save many that wouldn't have survived without them. Bless this amazing rescue for all that they do!

That's my Penny (originally named Snowball) on the right, with her sister Snowflake (now Pippi). Coincidence or what? =)

I got my little love bug Penny from this rescue group. And have since placed three dogs with friends. The volunteers work very hard and all for free. They rescue little munchies that desperately need a home. I'm sorry that Vicki you had a bad experience, but I think this group is outstanding. I know from experience that they will turn away someone if they truly believe the dog is not a good fit. They are constantly working. I've seen some of the dogs that they've rescued and I don't know how they keep doing it. I would have been crying and giving up years ago. Thanks for all you do!!!!

They were upfront about the fact he had seizures and because he was older there was no way to know if he had epilepsy (you can find this out when they are puppies apparently) or if it was caused by something else. He also had a heart condition that could literally take him at any time. I think they were afraid I wouldn't adopt him with that kind of information but I'm not one of those people that will only adopt a "perfect dog". He was adorable and had such a gentle disposition that I fell in love immediately. When I met him he was at the animal hospital on Venice and they had little info on his previous life except to say he was found running on the 60 freeway. The rescue graciously said they would pay for any medication for his seizures and a few other things but I refused because they had done their part and I wanted them to put their money to other dogs in need. I committed to care for Peanut for the rest of his life, whatever that looked like. Many more health problems arose like skin cancer that required very delicate lifesaving surgery, neurological problems and the seizures got worse till medication was definitely required. (seizures were rare when I got him) Peanut lived to the ripe old age of 18 despite his health issues. I am so grateful for Perfect Pet and the fact they rescued an older dog with health issues that most would just put down. Peanut was such a gift and I was so lucky to be able to give him a comfortable, loving home till his final day. I only have one request for people wanting to adopt, please take a look at the older dogs, they are such loving creatures and its not fair they are overlooked because of their advanced age. When you are elderly I'm sure you'd want a loving place to be instead of being tossed away. In memory of Peanut. :)

With a shy and anxious dog who is nervous of strangers and sometimes reactive to other dogs on leash, finding a trusted dog walker is no easy task. I found MMH on Yelp and gave them a call. Melissa called me back within 24 hours, and Sarah came out that week to meet me and my dog and assured me that Allison would be able to take care of our pup. As we still had a few walks scheduled with our previous walker, they even coordinated a time for Allison to join our old walker on one of their last visits and help our dog adjust to the change. Allison is amazing, and we are so lucky to have found her! She took the time to get to know and build trust with our dog. Our dog loves her, she sends the best photos and updates after each visit, and she really goes above and beyond to keep us informed of any concerns. We've worked with lots of great dog walkers over the years, but she is the best when it comes to communication. We have regularly scheduled weekly walking, but MMH has also always been able to accommodate our one-off requests. This is one of the benefits of working with a larger company. If we need a one-off walk, and Allison isn't available, MMH has always been able to find someone, and Allison regularly introduces our dog to other walkers so that there are multiple people who can fill in when needed. We've also used MMH for overnight, in-home care, and again, MMH has always been able to accommodate our requests and we've had positive experiences with all the walkers/sitters so far.

I made it clear we were willing to wait as long as it took for the right fit and requested a foster-to-adopt arrangement to ensure compatibility. A volunteer recommended a dog and assured us he was a good match for our home. The dog was transported from San Diego to Los Angeles for a meet and greet and was left with us that same day. There was no home check, no reference check, and no medical or behavioral history provided. We were asked to sign a form and submit $500, described as refundable if we did not move forward with adoption. The dog bit my husband the first night. Days later, he lunged at me and broke skin on my face. We stayed in constant communication with the rescue and even hired the trainer they recommended. After six weeks, the dog bit a household employee badly enough that she required ER treatment and stitches. At that point, the rescue agreed to take the dog back. However, when I asked about the $500 refund, I was told that because we had the dog longer than two weeks, we had "legally adopted" him, despite the arrangement being described as foster-to-adopt. When I raised concerns, I received an aggressive and deeply unprofessional email response attacking me personally rather than addressing the safety issues. Afterward, I found the rescue's original social media posts about this dog, which clearly stated he needed an experienced foster or adopter. We were not an experienced behavioral home, and I had been transparent about that from the beginning. We went into this with good intentions and were willing to wait for the right fit. Instead, we were placed in an unsafe situation and then blamed when it failed. Please proceed with caution.

So when we contacted caring songs rescue, it was simply so easy and smooth and the ladies running the rescue greeted us with so much professionalism and they truly wanted to help us find the best pup. Words cannot express my gratitude towards caring songs rescue. It has been a few months since we adopted the most adorable dog from them and we have had an amazing time with him!

Even when I've been traveling for work in other countries--literally on the other side of the world--I have never worried once. I always know Summit is safe, loved, and having the very best time. And he does have the best time--he still runs in with the same excitement as he did on day one. (I cried that first day when he was just a pup and it was my first time leaving him, but Cami hugged me and told me he was going to be just fine and most happy there - and those words are still true to this day!) It's truly his home away from home. He loves all of his fur friends (he made so many, and even I did too from A Bark Idea), lives for water time with the hose (those pictures are the best), or the time they brought in bubbles and Summit has never been more blown away, and I absolutely love the daily photos and updates that keep me connected no matter where I am. :) There is simply no place better in the South Bay (Hermosa), and now with their beautiful new location in Marina del Rey/Venice, it's even more convenient for us. :) I recommend them to everyone I know with a pup--and when you go, look for Summit on the walls... he's one of their photo models! :)

We adopted our two other birds from local fosters and non-profits. After texting the number of the organization, I was immediately in touch with Marie, sweetest person-ever! We coordinated a date and time to come by and see the available cockatiels ready for adoption. I brought my partner and daughter along. As we got a review of the birds, Marie's hyacinth macaw Howard came over to greet us. Such a handsome, boy! We landed in adopting out a young male cockatiel (likely to be 1 year old due to the pearls still visible in his feathers) named "Patrick". He'd been saved from the elements, rescued after being dropped from the sky by a crow. Marie helped get him back in tip top shape, provided me the labs for his current health state (healthy!) and his DNA sexed paperwork. I appreciated the level of care and service Marie provided. She was professional, detailed, and super accommodating. I really loved her level of attention to understanding each and every bird's quirks, preferences, and history. Before we left, Marie provided a bit of food, snacks, and helped us pick a few perches and toys that "Patrick" would be happy with from his current cage. I was very grateful to be able to donate towards the foundation through Venmo. They also do cash or check, or Zelle. The feel the contribution/donation fee is minuscule compared to the value you give back to new member(s) of your flock. I understand only time will heal him from the trauma of his ordeal. We hope the love, care, and patience, our family can provide him with the right environment to help him heal at his own pace. If you're ever looking to adopt a bird in need, look no further than Fine Feathered Friends. Marie is wonderful and so dedicated, and it shows!
