So if five days is so bad, Dana, then maybe you should find a new vet. And here is Cyndi's card because the spelling of her name somehow made everything I said about her untrue. I can check with Verizon if you want to see my cell records where I called Cyndi numerous times too. So sure, I may not have spelled her name correctly, but I sure did come with receipts and her business card. I'll spare you the photos of my cat with budging eyes from the sinus pressure and fluid leaking out of both of her eyes and nostrils and her limp little body. I'll take that apology now.

I made it clear we were willing to wait as long as it took for the right fit and requested a foster-to-adopt arrangement to ensure compatibility. A volunteer recommended a dog and assured us he was a good match for our home. The dog was transported from San Diego to Los Angeles for a meet and greet and was left with us that same day. There was no home check, no reference check, and no medical or behavioral history provided. We were asked to sign a form and submit $500, described as refundable if we did not move forward with adoption. The dog bit my husband the first night. Days later, he lunged at me and broke skin on my face. We stayed in constant communication with the rescue and even hired the trainer they recommended. After six weeks, the dog bit a household employee badly enough that she required ER treatment and stitches. At that point, the rescue agreed to take the dog back. However, when I asked about the $500 refund, I was told that because we had the dog longer than two weeks, we had "legally adopted" him, despite the arrangement being described as foster-to-adopt. When I raised concerns, I received an aggressive and deeply unprofessional email response attacking me personally rather than addressing the safety issues. Afterward, I found the rescue's original social media posts about this dog, which clearly stated he needed an experienced foster or adopter. We were not an experienced behavioral home, and I had been transparent about that from the beginning. We went into this with good intentions and were willing to wait for the right fit. Instead, we were placed in an unsafe situation and then blamed when it failed. Please proceed with caution.

It appears that they have dedicated foster parents who help transition these pups from shelter life to permanent placement in their forever homes. They were very honest with us about the dog we were adopting struggles with timidness and fear. They sent someone to do a home visit and we had to do an initial foster to adopt agreement for 2 weeks. If all worked out fine for both Shelby and our family then we were cleared to adopt. Which we did last Thursday. Shelby has had all her initial shots, was spayed and treated for fleas when we adopted her. All we needed to do was provide the love. Done. We had rescued our conure, Sunny, from a big chain pet store and instantly fell in love with her. She became part of our family right away.
