I found that to be caring and true, I do not mind spending a little more to ensure they take care of all the injured animals at the shelter. The people there really love animals and take care of them, I did not feel like this was a money making operation. It truly felt like all the money was going to be used for food, shelter, and medicine. I highly recommend this place.

They informed us that the dog had multiple applicants, and that the adoption fee might decrease over time if interest remained low. We scheduled a meetup near a Petco in Hawthorne. They arrived a bit late in a large white van with multiple dogs in crates--some appeared anxious. The process felt a little hectic since other adopters were scheduled around the same time. The adoption fee was on the higher side and included vaccinations and spay/neuter services. However, our dog was too young to be fully vaccinated or neutered, so we had to schedule those appointments later. Unfortunately, we later learned--through a professional groomer--that the dog we adopted was not a poodle as advertised, but a labradoodle.

Upon arrival at the Whole FoodS Store in El Segundo where you advise me Pal Rescue would be. I saw Olena was taken by family, when you advised in the last e-mail with the following statement: "Mable and Olena are available. They will be at our next adoption. They would both get along with cats." I was met by "Norma" whom became defensive and unclear when asked for her name, name of the supervisors and the process of adopting the dog. "Norma" became defensive, rude, and unclear about the adoption process; she began speaking about her personal life indicating she is a volunteer who works 60 hours a week and has a child. I quickly advised her that her personal life has nothing to do with the process of adopting a dog. She became irate and tore my application and throw it in the trash. I was applaud of the types of volunteers and services this agencies has. The moral: e-mail, e-mail, e-mail to get all the details of adopting.

My cat was finally called and I was in shock at what I saw. The cruelty and treatment of my cat was so wrong. The Lange Foundation should train the staff paid or not to be more organized and treat our pets in a much better way than this. This person here is using her mouth to hold the syringe and having some kind of exorcist moment before injecting my cat with the syringe straight from her mouth and then the way she holds her and drags her and then throws her in the crate like nothing. Yes, I am guilty of adopting a puppy during the pandemic. A friend started fostering a puppy from…read morethis foundation and it took little convincing for me to submit an online application soon after. This begins the story of foster failing. Our application was accepted a few days later and we were assigned a coordinator. Our coordinator would send us pictures of cute puppies and ask if we were willing to take any of them in. Let me tell you, these pups are gone FAST. I snoozed for about 24 hours and by the time I replied, all the pups were spoken for. So the second time my coordinator texted me about a pup needing a foster home, I said yes right away. The next day, I had an 8-week pup named Abelton in my arms, along with supplies provided by the foundation: crate, play pen, a toy, food, snacks, and pee pads. Vaccinations are covered by La Belle up to the point when they are adopted. The food varies depending on where they get donations from. The first time, we received Blue Buffalo, the second time, we received Farmer's dog. My coordinator was awesome and checked in on me every few days to see how the pup was doing and to coordinate any meet and greets with potential adopters. This pup soon proved to be mischievous and needing lots of exercise to prevent destructive behavior. La Belle foundation does not allow you to take puppies out to walk on public ground until they were fully vaccinated. This was troublesome for me since I live in an apartment and our foster up did not have a lot of room to burn up his energy. However, my coordinator gave me tips on how to keep the pup occupied in my apartment. After two weeks of caring for this rambunctious pup, he was soon adopted by a couple. After taking a break for a few weeks, I start missing having a furry friend around. I started to scroll through La Belle Foundation's Instagram page to take a gander at all the pups currently in their care. La Belle Foundation does not allow you to adopt your first foster since they want you to contribute to volunteering and not keeping the dog for your own. So...for the second foster, we were careful to choose a pup we thought we may end up keeping forever. We asked for a dog that would be appropriate for apartment living with a mellow demeanor. We ended up fostering a sweet chihuahua/terrier mix with a piebald coat. As soon as I picked up my second foster pup, I knew he was mine! Bright eyed, and bushy tailed, he readily climbed into my lap to go home. The adoption process was a breeze. It may have helped that I was a foster first. The adoption fee is $600, which goes towards the cost of running the foundation. I think La Belle is a great foundation to foster and adopt from. They rescue cute puppies that are adoptable, and also help dogs that need medical attention. The coordinators are also prompt to reply to any questions or concerns. They also do a great job at maintaining their social media presence to give the pups the best chance at finding a forever home. I am thinking of fostering again in a few months so that my fur baby can have a friend at home. Hopefully I don't end up adopting a second pup because we don't have the space!

I was reading the reviews on Perfect Pet Rescue and I had to add my two cents. I adopted an…read moreadorable 3.5lb chihuahua I named Peanut from Nancy back in 2005. They were upfront about the fact he had seizures and because he was older there was no way to know if he had epilepsy (you can find this out when they are puppies apparently) or if it was caused by something else. He also had a heart condition that could literally take him at any time. I think they were afraid I wouldn't adopt him with that kind of information but I'm not one of those people that will only adopt a "perfect dog". He was adorable and had such a gentle disposition that I fell in love immediately. When I met him he was at the animal hospital on Venice and they had little info on his previous life except to say he was found running on the 60 freeway. The rescue graciously said they would pay for any medication for his seizures and a few other things but I refused because they had done their part and I wanted them to put their money to other dogs in need. I committed to care for Peanut for the rest of his life, whatever that looked like. Many more health problems arose like skin cancer that required very delicate lifesaving surgery, neurological problems and the seizures got worse till medication was definitely required. (seizures were rare when I got him) Peanut lived to the ripe old age of 18 despite his health issues. I am so grateful for Perfect Pet and the fact they rescued an older dog with health issues that most would just put down. Peanut was such a gift and I was so lucky to be able to give him a comfortable, loving home till his final day. I only have one request for people wanting to adopt, please take a look at the older dogs, they are such loving creatures and its not fair they are overlooked because of their advanced age. When you are elderly I'm sure you'd want a loving place to be instead of being tossed away. In memory of Peanut. :)

I adopted a deaf dog who needed some adjustment time, so I shared him with the Pet Adoption Fund, dropping him off for three days a week, then keeping him four. It took him awhile to adjust, and myself awhile to adapt the house for him so he would be safe. Thanks so much to Manuel, who put up with me picking up Shammy-Nalu at odd hours; hugs to Mary who took a special interest in my dog for all the years he was there; and to Maggie who responded when I needed her. Also, thanks so much to Ellen Paiva who spent months training Shammy-Nalu with love and patience. Thanks to all who put in time with a deaf-dog so he could be adopted!

I…read morehad applied for dogs at several other orgs and not heard back (or, sadly, even kind of been given the runaround by one). Pet Adoption Fund was responsive, organized, and thorough. They follow best practices of an animal rescue for properly evaluating adopters, which means you will fill out forms, have a meeting with them and the pet, and have a home visit. This is all to ensure the welfare of the pet, and I am happy to oblige. In the end, the process worked very efficiently, and I got my new best friend, who had received great veterinary care from them. And got a bath before coming home. :) Also, they followed Covid protocols with masks, etc, which made me feel good. I dealt with several different people at this organization, and every one was committed, pleasant, and professional. I'm hugely grateful for their work!
