I am in tears as I write this. We have been taking our rescue dog Harpo to PAW for three years now after searching for a vet that wasn't owned by the hedge fund vipers, and we found exactly what we were looking for with Dr. D at PAW. Harpo has had excellent care there and I have recommended PAW to several friends, who report that they too love this practice. Harpo was about to be 16 and has been incredibly healthy and vibrant until a couple of weeks ago. We then noticed a decline and brought him in for his annual physical a week ago today. We realized that Harpo was nearing the end and asked about end-of-life measures. Dr. D and her assistant Dani Ramirez were so reassuring and wonderful about just keeping him comfortable, feeding him anything he wanted at this stage, and watching for signs that he might need help transitioning. They assured us that they would be able to respond same-day if we got into a crisis situation and needed euthanasia. Those signs came Wednesday, Sept. 30, which will go down as the saddest day of my life when I realized that it was time to help Harpo in the most loving way we could. I called PAW when they opened at 8 a.m. and they got back to me 10 minutes later. Dr. D. could see him at 9:15. We wrapped Harpo in a towel, as he could no longer walk, and brought him to PAW. The next hour was painful but the entire PAW staff made it easier every step of the way. Dani even asked the vet techs to come to us to insert the IV line, so Harpo wouldn't have any more distress than necessary. It was the hardest thing I've ever done to end my beloved doggie's life, but it was the right thing to do at the right time, and Dr. D was a tremendous help. 5 Stars to PAW. read more

After 43 years with the same veterinarian, I started looking elsewhere because our longtime doctor had moved under VCA ownership and appears to be semi-retired. This first appointment was us testing the waters--not a completed switch, and we wanted to support a local neighborhood business . We booked what we understood to be a 2:00 p.m. appointment. According to them It was actually scheduled for 1:45. We arrived before 2:00, less than 15 minutes after the listed time. The waiting room was empty, which may be a sign itself. Staff told us we were late, we would not be seen, and they would charge us close to $100 as a no-show fee to be applied to a future visit. I said we would not be coming back. I am used to veterinary staff being among the nicest people I have ever met. That was not the case here. Turning away a first-time client for being under 15 minutes late (while no one else was waiting) and then adding a close-to-$100 no-show charge felt callous and unaccommodating. The manner at the front desk was smug and frankly rude. "Have a nice day" I will not leave my aging dog in the care of people who treat a new client this way over an honest misunderstanding. I recently moved, and I had to look for a new vet that was closer.PAW was recommended to me by a friend from the dog park. I was looking to have my dogs teeth cleaned and she had just had that procedure done with her dog. I went in for a consultation since my dog is 14 years old and I was impressed that they answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. They are a little bit on the higher side, pricing wise, but you get what you pay for. Meticulously clean and modern and there's not one person who doesn't have a friendly smile to greet you. PAW veterinary center was my to go vet the last couple of years. i had a really pleasant first visit, the staff are all really nice and welcoming. everyone that has or had a pet knows how important it is to find a trustworthy vet, bc our furbabies do not have a voice. the drs and techs are the most knowledgeable as this is their field. anyways, march 3rd is when we went in for a same day appt, rocky was due for his wellness exam and vax. but he was in bc he had what seemed to be tummy issues and limping. we were seen by Dr. Kira Didkovskaya, she was very professional, patient and listened to all my concerns. i picked up a bottle of visbiome probiotics, rocky got his vax, a fecal test and we went home. i love that PAW has great communication via emails! they do great with follow ups and check ins. well a week went by and rocky still was not feeling better, he was actually doing worse. despite his tests coming back normal, he was acting out of character. made another appt a week later. since they were booked, i had to drop rocky off and in btw appts, they were going to do x-rays. rocky was seen by Dr. Michael Handley, who did rocky's initial exam at PAW. Dr. Michael Handley called me to go over his x-rays, i did not have a copy so i couldnt see what he was explaining. when i went to pick rocky up, i was hoping to meet with Dr. Michael Handley so we can go over the results. Dr. Michael Handley explained he had to get a second opinion on the x-rays and that is what took longer. well, it was inconclusive, he couldn't confirm whether it was his spine or his knees "Primary Recommendations: Correlate with orthopedic examination to assess for cranial drawer and consider orthopedic consultation for surgical and nonsurgical options to address the stifle instability and intra-articular injury" dr prescribed rimadyl and took him home 2 days later, rocky was back at the vet. he was seen by Dr. Michael Handley. "..based on nis symptoms and x-rays, we suspect he has intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), a condition where the cushioning discs between the vertebrae in the spine become damaged or inflamed, causine pain and potential nerve problems." "..If Rocky doesn't show improvement with these treatments, we may need to consider a referral to a veterinary neurologist for more advanced imaging (such as an MRI) and possible surgical options.." great. took him home with more meds..gabapentin made an appointment with a neurologist center for the next day (thursday) that is when that dr knew right away it was not rocky's knees or spine. that is when his prognosis was poor. i called PAW friday and let the front desk know that i was not coming to pick up the rest of the gabapentin that Dr. Michael Handley prescribed. i let them know that Dr. Michael Handley misdiagnosed Rocky and that I have to lay him to rest. i get a call from PAW, Liz Hix, who is not on the team's website, but she is the CEO of PAW as she holds the Veterinary Medical Board license .. she introduces herself as Liz Hix and she is calling bc she received a note that there was an upset call. i explained to her i am not upset, i am extremely sad as i found out that i have to put rocky down within the next few days as he has a brain tumor. the call was basically a CYA, she wanted to explain Dr. Michael Handley thought process and how and why he did what he did. i just listened to her. She added that in her 25 years of being in the business. she has only had 2 cases involving a brain tumor. (is that supposed to make me feel better?) She also asked if she can provide any euthanasia services, the answer is no. french bulldogs are a special breed, i understand that they are predisposed with a lot of health problems, a risk a pet parent takes. i will be doing my research on the drs at the next veterinary i take my future baby too... read more

I'm a first time cat owner and this is my first time owning a pet as an adult. I was extremely nervous and desperately looking for a place to take my cat (Honey ) so I can deal with her worm situation as well as get an overall check up. I felt a little insecure before walking in as this was my first time going to a Vet. However, once I was checked in and taken to a room, all of my worries went away. The front desk staff are very nice, soft spoken, and patient. Not to mention how clean and nice the office itself looks. The doctor and vet tech (?) were extremely kind, compassionate, and patient! I felt very safe and welcomed. They answered my 1 million questions and made sure I felt comfortable before ending our appointment. Friendly staff and doctors, and nice modern facility. Dr. LaMoyne was especially warm and caring towards me and my dog, and made me feel at ease with having my dog under her care. My 12YO dog's mast cell tumor ruptured a day before her scheduled surgery to remove it, and Dr. LaMoyne was so amazing that she made room to squeeze my baby in for surgery that day. Surgery went well as did my dog's healing. That was in October 2025 and my senior dog is doing well now, and acting like a puppy again. I recently took my puppy, Nova, in for neutering and was very impressed with the care he received. I especially appreciated the pre-surgery blood work and the careful monitoring afterward. It gave me great peace of mind knowing he was healthy and safe to undergo anesthesia. The recovery suit they provided fit him perfectly, and with their guidance and attentive care at home, he healed beautifully. Don't let the price deter you. Our dog had a second visit with Dr. Handley this week due to his fear of fireworks. Although there was a clinic emergency immediately prior to our visit, he never made us feel rushed. Dr. Hanley is kind, compassionate and takes the time to get to know your pet. If you are reading this review, please keep in mind that some dogs are deathly afraid of fireworks and some of our veterans may have PTSD due to the loud noises. I brought my mini puppy in for her very first vet visit, and I couldn't be happier with how everything went at PAW Vet Center. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was calm, clean, and welcoming. I took my dog here today. I made the appointment online late last night. This was one of the few offices that 1. I was able to make an appt online and 2. Had an appt for the next day. I went in and was greeted immediately by a woman at the front desk and felt welcomed. I was taken back to my room within 10 minutes. The vet came in and explained everything thoroughly. I felt like my dog was in good hands. He was patient with me and all the questions I had. After the visit they sent me an email that walked me through the medications; what the medication was for, how to use it, side effects, everything. Later on this evening I received another email that summarized the whole office visit. The summary broke down all the questions I had, what i should look for, what next steps I should take, etc. This will be my go-to veterinary office from now on. I love this place. They are super super thorough, they don't rush you out and there is both a doctor and vet tech in the room with you and your pet at all times. To see the doctor is $95 which is not much more or the same as less upscale places I've been and it's so worth it. They've got coffee and people snacks as well as pet snacks in the waiting room and you get to stay with your baby for most of the visit. I've worked with dr lemoyne and Dr handley and they've been very supportive and thorough. Dr H usually proactively sends notes after the visit. Easy scheduling via email. The portal hasn't really worked for me but email has been wonderful w quick turnaround time and availability. read more

Update: Everything that's in my review is 100% factual and will not be removed. I received a call from one of their supervisors that used hateful language and threats to try to intimidate me to take this review down. She wanted to give me a "heads up before she called me a liar in her response to my review". Yikes. You can see for yourself in the response: she confirmed other patients were seen (although there appointments were after mine) and I've already acknowledged I was late and proactively informed the office of this. The "apology" and explanation only came as a result of this review... We recently relocated and needed to establish care with a new vet. Prior to the appointment all of our interactions were great, super helpful and answering questions, making sure we got records transferred, etc. Now the day of the appointment we were running late so I notified the office and they confirmed it was not an issue. However, once we arrived we sat in the exam room for over an hour and NEVER saw the doctor. Eventually, I went back to the receptionist desk and asked if we should reschedule... not sure why this wasn't offered proactively. But we were not provided with any sort of apology or explanation - just the option to keep waiting or reschedule for another time. While speaking with the receptionist, I observed several people being called back for their appointments with the doctor like normal... seems very discriminatory. Definitely do not recommend and will not be back. read more

HIGHLY recommend Paw! I wish I could give them More than 5 stars (& my cats would agree)! PAW is an excellent facility with amazing vets and staff. It truly feels like an upscale family clinic from the minute you enter. The receptionists are always warm and kind & greet us by our cats names :) we also appreciate that they designate specific rooms just for cats. the clinic rooms are very clean, warm & welcoming (and doesnt smell like dog). There's usually calming music softly playing in the background. This ambience & honestly the 'cats only' rooms allow my babies to comfortable & explore, instead of their usual behavior of scared and huddled in a corner. We'd also like to give a special shout out to our vet, Dr. LaMoyne. She is an exceptional, compassionate doctor who always cares for all our furry children with such love & respect. She was the one who diagnosed our cat, Starbuck, with heart disease & had their cardiologist quickly evaluate him. Starbuck is now happy with improved condition after he was started on heart medication. And lastly, we really appreciated her guidance & advice through the care of our geriatric cat with dementia, Helo. We recently had to say goodbye to him. It was a difficult experience but it was made all the more easier with Dr. LaMoyne. Thank you. My friend referred me to PAWS so I took both my dogs for checkup and shots. The office is so very clean and organized. We were greeted with friendly ladies at the desk and we didn't even sit down before they had us in a room. Had no wait and Dr. Handley and his assistant came right in. He was so great with my dogs, and very knowledgeable, he will be our new vet! Also, a few bonuses were the comfy couches in the exam room and the fact that they offer you to pay in the exam room with a quick tap...instead of having to back out to waiting room with the dogs. 100% recommend PAWS!! read more

My cat had developed an abscess this week. We initially believed it may have been an insect bite and were treating it at home. As a couple of days went by we noticed she itched it so much she yanked her hair out. We then realized it likely is a cat bite abscess. We were in a panic this morning, as we noticed her eating but with visible discomfort & pain. On the way to the vet the abscess burst. I was a little panicked and unsure if anyone would be able to provide immediate help. Sometimes you can't really plan ahead for emergencies. This office definitely understands. The second I walked into this office, I was greeted with kindness and assured that something could be done to help me, even though this was my first time here and I was a walk in. I'm so grateful for their time and attention and am happy I found my new permanent office. Your front staff is amazing! The office is nice, clean, and welcoming. Before you see the vet you sit down with a technician who ask questions gets to know your dog and listen to your concerns. We adopted our rescue, Montague, back in November. After experiencing our previous pup pass away from a heart condition and recently moving to Redondo Beach we were on the hunt for a top notch vet for our new dog. The first vet we looked into could not take on new clients but recommended PAW Veterinary Center for us. Dr. D and her staff are truly wonderful. They have accommodated everything we needed. Poor Monty has a really bad case of separation anxiety (he was previously adopted and given back to the rescue) we tried everything to help him and Dr. D worked with us to put him on anti-anxiety meds. My Lulu developed a UTI, and when I couldn't get an appointment with her usual vet, Paw Vet Center was incredibly accommodating and got us in quickly. The vets and techs there are amazing! Fortunately I was able to see Dr.Lamoyne today and really really impressed with the PAW team how they are able to handle my super super aggressive cat in such a short time . I was not going to review this business but they just sent me an email wishing my dog a happy birthday who passed away. Long story. I came to them for a second opinion regarding my 3 yo doodle who was diagnosed with IVDD. They told me it had turned into arthritis so I need to give him this shot. I did and within 24 hours he developed weakness, and ITP and required a 4 day hospitalization. He never regained function and tragically passed away 3 months ago. I was devastated. I had not followed up again because I was only seeing specialists so was caught off guard that they send me a happy birthday email. It's pretty insensitive and I don't think they should be sending these out for a one off appointment I did once. I'm sure I'm on some email list but still. I talked to the owner after the initial visit who explained it was really a freak thing he developed this which I understand. They did give me my money back for the appointment but definitely didn't help me with his 15,000 hospital bill. I was gonna let it go til I got this email. Dirt in the wound. read more

I want to thank Dr. D and everyone at Paw for how loving and amazing they were to my dog, Cookie. I brought him in as initially an urgent care situation. Within 24 hours Dr. D alerted us he was in kidney failure and not only provided the hospital to take him to but called ahead of time to make sure we wouldn't have to wait in the waiting room and they would take him right away. From the very beginning Dr. D was so compassionate and knowledgeable and you can just tell how much she cares about what she does. Unfortunately after about a month my sweet boy had to be put down- at no fault of Paw. Dr. D was the one who assisted in the euthanasia and I couldn't have asked for a better vet. I even received a card in the mail a couple days later with my dogs paw prints in the card. So thoughtful and while I'm super broken hearted i feel better that in his last moments he was not stressed and left in a very peaceful way. My only regret is I wish I would have discovered Paw sooner and my boy may still have been here. If I ever have a pet again I will only be going to Paw for all my pets services. I brought my Sphynx here when I first got her. Prior to making the appointment I asked if the vet is very knowledgeable of this cat breed. They insisted she was. The vet and staff are very nice and the place is beautiful and clean. Now here why the two stars: My vet treated my cat as your common furred cat. Saying things that had nothing to do with her breed. She also said my cat had heart and kidney issues and needed to see two specialist that was going to cost me close to $2000. She wanted to test for every little thing. I felt like they were trying to upsell me. The visit costed me $700. She prescribed two kinds of dry food that was very expensive and of course they sold it there. I went to two very affordable clinics including one that specializes in cats for a second and third opinion. Guess what? My cat has no issues! Both clinics said the exact same thing. She didn't need that special diet either. This place ripped me off and tried to get way more out of me. read more
