I have been taking my dachshund for 4 yrs. Every time I bring him the price increase. This time it was $135 plus 15 tip or $150. They said they brushed him out. How once they shaved him there was nothing to brush. A lot of add on charges. He's a little 20 lb dog I'd hate to see what they charge for a bigger dog. After checking the reviews PETCO has the same response to all of them we're sorry you had an unpleasant visit. I need to find another groomer. read more

Do not bring your pet here for grooming. each time i have came here, the attitudes are so bad. i waited for five minutes, just standing there and a cashier calls someone to let them know that im waiting... waits another five minutes. literally. the cashier comes over and says he'll go check in the back. i just hear the groomer yelling and he comes back and tells me she won't have time today could of told me that 10 minutes ago, when they told you i was waiting? if you don't like your job, find a different one:) read more

They are good on supplies but do not take your animals here for any vet care. They charge just as much as many vets and I thought the vet care was terrible with no choice in care for the client. They gave my dog a one year rabies and 3 years is recommended by the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine. It is in the publics best interest to have a 3 year booster. They will upcharge you on everything and give you no choice in costs. They gave a vaccine that was not needed so they could charge for it. They could have done a combined shot instead. They also charged me more than the online site said even when I protested they pushed a more expensive package on me when I said I did not need it. Buyer beware. read more

I made an appointment for my puppy to be groomed and they refused to groom him when I got there. They made many excuses as to why including that he was matted and they didn't want to send him home half shaved. I suspect they didn't want to work today being Christmas Eve. I left and will NEVER step into another Petco again. I went to another popular business without an appointment and they checked him, he had no matting and they said they would never send a dog home not finished. Kudos to them for great customer service. BTW I have never written a review before and wouldn't make a habit of it but this was beyond my understanding. read more

It was a good place until today. I brought my dog and he got his nail done ( almost... ) But the groomer said she can't finish it because my dog swiped her face... I had been watching from outside and I did NOT see that. I agree he was not cooperative! He moved a lot and he tried to pull his legs but I was so disappointed that she can't do her job with dogs like that. I had been bringing him for years and he didn't have any issues until today. Since she was so forceful, he is traumatized... I don't say my dog behaved well but lying is not good and I'm just disappointed because I really liked this place. This Petco is a joke. My dog has been getting groomed through petco for 6 years. Groomers said they can no longer groom my dog because of his history with seizures. He takes medication and has a doctors note that he is fine to get groomed. (He only gets seizures at night and has not had one for a few years since being medicated). Petco has never had an issues with this, even as recent as three months ago when he got groomed they did not have a problem. But now are saying they will not groom him. The worker was very rude when telling us this. Also, his seizures history is documented in his records at Petco. It would have been nice for them to cancel the appointment before we drove all the way there and took time out of our day. read more

in my years of fish keeping I've never been once asked for a id to keep fish NEVER EVER BEEN AKSED. I been at other pet stores even other petco's and they never question my age nor asked id and were chill. I am 14 years old and when I came up to one worker and asked if I could get help to get cherry barbs they asked the id and stuff like that and proceeded to say that kids buy betta fish to make them fight and I didn't asked for that info and where did you get that information?! And at the register it was 45 $ for other things with the fish and I was going to use a 100 and the person said a 100 is too much for 45 and in my mind I was like it's literally near half of that! do you not know what a lot and little is for a 100?!!!! and plus when they were getting my fishes they got 2 cherry barbs and 6 glow light tetras I literally said specifically 8 damn CHERRY BARBS. and it took awhile for them to get it. their colors werent popping out as much when I saw them but once I added them in my community tank they instantly thrive. Also I don't own brilliant rasbora but theri info on them being 1.5 inches was wrong they get bigger than that and plus they are in a compacted tank not full giving them the swimming space and not allowing them to grow to their true potential size. I felt like I was being treated irresponsiblie, disrespect, and they make me feel like I was stupid l. I understand they don't know anything about me but it's quite obvious that I do take care of myself because I was wearing my workout clothes showcasing I do have responsibilities and disciplines. I don't want to be like this but I never felt so much anger and frustration. I felt like I was being discriminated. I am a 14 year old why are they treating me like this? and another thing I know what I am doing I've kept fish for 2 years and grow plants and all that kind of stuff so I know my fishes, plants, and tanks. no matter what you don't have to agree with but I'm my guts and heart I felt rasictism towards me. and don't even think that I dont know what it is I've worked before. I am apart of the Mississippi water shed department and what this shows is that I know I have responsibilitie, I know I have duties. so don't ever think that I am just some random teenager saying this for attention. I was greeted when I walked in and I was offered help while I was shopping. The employee was able to answer my questions (even though they seemed to be in the middle of something). I was a bit disappointed in the cat section as options are limited for toys, harnesses, brushes, etc. It seemed I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for in any of the mentioned categories and had to settle. However, they have a great selection of cat food (wet and dry), as well as a decent litter selection. In general, the store was clean and there are many "accident stations" for cleaning up, well, pet accidents. read more

Zero stars if I may. Last summer I took my dog in for a grooming. got a call as they were in the middle of grooming. They told me that she may have an injury as she moaned a bit when they tried to move her. I went in, I knew she also sometimes moans when I try to move her. I asked the groomer where it was the team thought there may be an injury she pointed to her under her legs. I picked the dog up from that exact same spot lifter in the air the whining no moaning. She said I needed a vet to give the OK for them to continue. I tried many times to speak to a manager at store and corporate- no call backs. I have since had her Groomed elsewhere multiple time, no issues. Asked again today in the store. NOPE! Ridiculous. Manager refused to try. They want me to pay a vet to ok, even though they saw me prove she had no injury or pain. No wonder they have a well earned 2 star rating! read more

I brought my dog (Irish Setter/Poodle Mix) puppy in for his grooming appointment at the Blaine Petco with Kelly. An hour after dropping him off, the she called me and said my dog bit her and she would not be finishing the job. She said I needed to pick him up immediately and I was never allowed back at Petco again. I was devastated as my dog has never bitten anyone before. Side note: I type insurance claims for my job, which does include dog bites, so I know what questions are good to ask for liability reasons. I get there to pick up my dog. I asked her if I could see the bite. She very rudely replied, 'I am not showing you ANYTHING." I explained that I would like to see it to protect myself for any liability reasons and to also see the extent of the injury. She then proceeded to tell me that he DIDN'T bite her. That he was just too mouthy (puppy mouthy) and she did not want to work with him anymore. My dog was chopped and shaved and looked like a mangy mess. And on top of it all, she lied, and treated me like I was a horrible person. And who knows how she treated my dog. I will NEVER go to Petco again for grooming or anything else. read more

Blaine Petco (11633 Ulysses Ln NE, Blaine MN 55434). My family always go to this store because it's 5 minutes away from our house. We bought 4 parakeets from them. In early-mid Feb, one of the parakeets didn't look healthy. We took it back to the store. The male store manager (A) and the female store associate (B) were nice and helpful. They refunded us the parakeet so they could care for it (per their policy). We asked them to give us a call back so we could repurchase the bird once it became healthy again. A week later, we heard nothing. My kids were asking after the bird so we visited the store. (B) remembered us and apologized about the miscommunication. The next day, we got a call saying that the bird was doing better and we could go back to pick it up. We went back and got the bird. While in the store, my husband was whispering to me that it wasn't our bird (he had photos of the original bird) , but because our kids were with us and were happy to get their bird back, I told him to let it be. About a week later, the bird had gotten worst. We took it back and encountered female store manager (C). First thing out of her mouth was an interrogation...did we buy the bird from their store....your cooking could effect the bird's health....the winter cold air could have kill it. I was stunt and told her yes, we bought the bird from the store and we have other birds and they were okay. Fortunately, (B) was at the register and remembered us and intervened. (B) took care of us and was sympathetic. The next day, we got a call saying that the bird died during the night. Fast forward to yesterday...another bird looked puffy so we (kids and I) took it to the store. (C) was there and because it had been more than 30 days, we couldn't return it so we donated it back to the store for care. Before we donated the bird, (C) brought up again that the bird we returned last time wasn't their because it had a longer beak and asked us if we bought this bird from their store. I said yes...I was tired from a long, stressful day at work and didn't have the energy to argue/correct her perception of us. When we got back home, the kids told my husband what had happened and my husband was not a happy man! He's in the security field so he told me that if he was there, he would have made (C) apologize and had the security footage pulled to prove that we did buy the bird(s) there....we were not trying to scam them...and that it was them that gave us the wrong bird. Anyhow, I told him to let it go. Now, I'm writing this review in retrospective of our experiences with (C). (C), being in a leadership role, should have been better with her attitude towards her customers. I found that many of the store associates were far more courteous than (C). For a leader to have pre-conceived biases of their customers (be it based on race or not), creates an unfriendly atmosphere. And an unfriendly atmosphere drives away business. read more

Very disappointed I had an appointment scheduled for 2 pm . When I got there the Vetco clinic was closed and I asked the cashier he had his co worker Isabel let me know they called out and I should of gotten a call. I completely understand it's out of her control . Just the fact that she said we usually give coupons but I don't have any . ? So I wonder who would of called ? Blaine Petco by Lowe's (in the same strip mall as Marshall's). This Petco offers the vaccination clinics at different times/dates (check online for schedule). They offer grooming, dog training (again, check the schedule), pet adoptions. We used the vaccine clinic because my dog has vet clinic anxiety (she thinks Petco is an indoor dog park). There are "cleanup stations" throughout the store (should your pet have an accident). While waiting for our dog medication, a wonderful dog trainer (I think her name was Jess) told me about front clip halter (which was so very helpful for our dog). read more

We have been going to this Petco for a few years. We've never had a problem with them until recently. We have always been allowed to use the step stools they have out ALL OVER to look at the animals in higher cages. Today one worker was rude & nasty towards us she very rudely said "ma'am you're can't look at the animal in higher tanks". How can I buy a animal if I can't see it. Workers walk around trying to force people to wear masks. If you aren't wearing one, they will try to give you some big lecture about how we are saving everyone by wearing a mask (as they are touching the mask they are trying to make you wear).
