If I could give 6 stars I would!!!! My dog pascal always has a hard time at the groomers. He is pretty anxious and sometimes that makes him aggressive when getting groomed. But Daphne took such good care of him and said he did wonderful. He even fell asleep during his appointment which is unheard of for my dog!!! So happy with his groom, he looks so handsome and is such a good mood now :) Thank you Petco and Daphne for taking care of my Pascal!

SIERRA!!!! My puppy Toby (5 months old) takes regular bath at home and has been to a professional mobile grooming once. We've never taken him to Petco Grooming. I know some people had negative experiences with Petco Grooming so to be honest, I was nervous to take Toby there. After consideration, I decided to give it a try and it said that the time slot I wanted, Toby would be styled by Sierra B. The store was extremely busy the day we took Toby. However, Sierra took time to greet us and talked to us about the style we wanted. We didn't want full grooming so she even let us know that there is a different trim option instead of full package - thanks! When I picked up Toby, I was super happy with the result. Honestly, it looked way better than the $170 haircut/bath he got in the past and this time it costed less than $40 without tip. Toby was energetic and happy when he got home which means he didn't have any traumatic experience at Petco. From now on, I know where to go for Toby's bath and haircut! Huge shout-out to Sierra!!

Disgusted and extremely disappointed in our recent experience at Petco grooming. My 10month Saint Berdoodle has had 3 haircuts prior and i've never had an experience like this before coming to Petco. Before I even made it up to the counter, the groomer was disgusted, demeaning and extremely rude the second she saw my puppy. She said "he must be shaved" before even getting his hands on him. We brush him daily. I was aware of some matting on his stomach and his head around the collar but that was it. I was not expecting and specifically asked them not to shave my dog to the skin. I politely kept asking to keep him as along as possible, specifically the head and tail- even when i called to check in on him about an hour in. I do not recommend this groomer for any dogs, specifically larger doodles. Bc of Petco, my dog is now traumatized by a brush and comb.

My dog before his grooming appointment definitely not matted and with very short hair

Absolutely terrible grooming services! If you make an appointment at 7am the doors aren't opened until 7:30am at the earliest. My dog was there for 3 hours and they didn't do anything but wash by that point. He was completely shaved and they claim he was matted even though there was no hair to get matted. I had just completely brushed out my dog's tail myself. When I made the appointment I had told them I needed to get to work by a certain time and they told me my dog would be done within 2 hours. They left him in the kennel to dry for 3 hours and when I picked him up because I couldn't wait any longer since they said it would take another hour at least he was still wet. They were extremely rude and unprofessional. I definitely do not recommend! My groomers at Elegant Dog Groomers right down the street took him in immediately and finished his haircut in 45 minutes and finished drying him with a blow dryer how it should be done. Not by waiting in a kennel for 3 hours! Definitely do not take your dog for grooming at this Petco if you love your dog and want them in good hands.

Let me start by saying, we don't have any pets.... However, my dear wife has adopted the neighbor cat... She feels it is not treated as royalty, and it is her mission to spoil this cat. So now she has a Petco card and we have no pets... We end up getting food and flee drops here... the staff is very nice, they really love pets, and can talk about any type and answer any questions. I feel bad for them at times, as pet owners can be a pretty persnikity group. We get a "special" cat food blend every time in, and this is one of the few places to carry it.

    I'm a short haired boy.

I have a Kishu that weighs 17lb, he looks like a small Shiba. We have been a loyal customer to Petco for 6 years. Two years ago we moved from California to Oregon, my dog has been charged as a small SHORT haired dog (basic bath $28) every time for 6 years, we also paid extra $20 for de-shedding. Yesterday, we were charged as a LONG haired dog (basic bath $34), that's the price for a large dog. We talked to a groomer and she told us that my dog has a double coat, that's why she charged him as long hair dog. We talked to the manager because we wanted to see where it stated that double coated dogs will be charged $6 extra, and no one mentioned about it in 6 years. He couldn't find anything to show us, but he told us that we were undercharged for the last 6 years from over 10 different groomers located in California and Oregon. He also said that from now on that they will charge us the price of a long haired dog. But I don't think we are going to come back.

I thought he may be too old for training, but have been proven wrong. Since taking him to Zoom Room I as a pet owner have learned techniques to address his behavior during walks making them more enjoyable. We started out in Calm Down class and have moved on to Obedience and Agility classes. They have several differnet packages, subscriptions and flex options to choose from to work within my budget. During a recent pedicure at Angel Nails, I noticed the Zoom Room so I told my husband about it and he signed us up for a free intro class. Upon arrival we were greeted by the sweetest person and the front desk. She got us checked in and took our pup's first day photo - adorable. After getting checked in we waited and browsed their merchandise which included a lot of training treat options that we hadn't seen before. When it was time for class to begin, we got settled at our station. The trainer was kind and funny and taught us a few new things. Our puppy was very excited and interested in the other dogs but we eventually got her to pay attention to us about halfway through the class. Overall we had a good experience, but did find class to be a bit distracting with the various puppies and parents in attendance. We may consider returning for private training sessions in the future.

She's so caring, loving, understanding, patient, knowledgeable, and FUN! She instantly feels like that best friend/family type. She's just so great! I contacted her one day after a very unsuccessful training session with another company. Feeling defeating and like our puppy would never learn anything, I reached out in a panic. She not only contacted me right away but took her time to speak with me over the phone to get a feel of our puppy, my other dogs, my household, and me! She took detailed notes and reassured me all will be okay. The very next day we started our first lesson. Risa showed up on time, treats in hand & ready to go! We learned so much on just the first session alone. She teaches not only your dog, but you as well. She will also help you go over your household to make adjustments if necessary. I have been working with Risa for only about a month now, but it feels like we've had so many more lessons just based on how much my dog has learned! Risa is always a text, phone call, or email away. Her schedule is very flexible, and there's always an available time slot for you. Her scheduling system is also super easy and helpful!! Cannot recommend her enough. The short version: they saved our dog…read more First off the thing to understand about this place is it's essentially 1 large open area so as a pet parent you see EVERYTHING. While they do have rooms for families to be in private or for waiting with a reactive animal you are in an open main area with other families and see the staff interacting with patients, parents and each other. IMO this makes the medicine they practice better because of the accountability. They have a small snack area with tea and coffee, especially good if you are there much longer than you anticipated. Since I brought our dog alone (my husband stayed home with our son) the front desk staff gladly watch our pup when I needed to use the restroom. Being an open concept you can't help but overhear the phone calls taken by the staff from concerned pet parents. An item of note was call after call taken from concerned pet parents calling because their animal had ingested *insert food of concern*. Instead of telling people to come in without knowing if it was a true concern the staff and doctors asked numerous questions about the animal and food ingested to confirm if it was necessary for their animal to be brought in. I got the sense that they wanted to prevent someone from coming in needlessly, not only saving that person's finances but enabling them to focus on the ones that truly needed help. Keeping in mind this is an emergency clinic it's expected for there to be a premium with costs but what I observed was a staff that did what they could to provide care to their patients as effectively as possible. In one case a pair of rabbits were brought in that were sent home without charge. They were found to not actually be having an emergency but just needed to be given the correct amount of medication (the wife gave the husband the 'I told you so' look lol). Our Veg story: We brought our 9 month old puppy to VEG on Christmas day with a suspected intestinal blockage. My husband had called ahead so they were expecting us. After Cera's initial intake they provided an initial estimate which they were happy to scale back (we declined initial labs in favor of just getting x-rays to confirm the suspected blockage). They proposed a round of meds and fluids to see if the mass would have any movement and sent us home with instructions to return later that evening for a 2nd round of xrays. I took Cera home so we could have Christmas dinner with our family and brought her back after her kid went to bed. Unfortunately the 2nd x-rays confirmed the mass had not budged and surgical intervention was needed to save her life. When discussing Cera the doctor asked me questions about our family, I shared that Cera's kid, my 10 year old son, has autism and Cera was very important to him. She asked about their relationship and said it would be good to bring him to see her in the morning. They got Cera comfortable and they enabled me to stay with her until they were ready to start her surgery. I went home to get some sleep and the doctor called me a few hours later to report the surgery was successful. Later that morning I brought my son to see her. I had heard the doctor tell the staff about my son before her surgery and the staff were so kind and accommodating with my son, assuring him they would help her to come home as soon as she was able. We went home for dinner and later after I got him to bed I went back, prepared to spent a 2nd night there. Upon my arrival the doctor said that pending a good next few hours I should be able to take her home before morning. Keeping in mind our bill was more than I care to admit or thought I'd ever spending on vet care getting her home was not only good for her but meant we would have to be charged for a 2nd night's stay. Just after 1am I drove home with our sweet Cera and had a very happy son in the morning when he came downstairs to find us home. Our family is so grateful. Cera is doing great & expected to make a full recovery.

While our outcomes weren't what we'd hoped, I have to say for Vet emergencies - we will come here…read morefrom now on. Too many times we have gone to a Vet emergency clinic, our dog taken away, and we sit in a room wondering what's going on and panicking about where our dog is, is she scared, not getting updates, not understanding anything. Our dogs are always terrified to go in, they HATE being taken away from us, and we hate it. That is NOT the case here. When they say open concept - they mean OPEN. You are seated in an area, WITH your pet. The doctor and nurses come to where you're sitting, they sit on the floor with you. You're sitting next to other patients and their people, sitting on other couches near you. You're seeing them x-ray, do labs, triage, etc. on every single pet that comes in the door. You see all the chaos going on in a Vet ER as they do their passdowns and triage. It all becomes visible, and we left there understanding two things: 1) veterinarian emergency is chaos. There's always something. There's always pets in need. And there's always people wondering what's going on and just as scared as their pets. 2) Being able to SEE that first hand, helped us understand, empathize, but also bond with other pets and their owners - as we all sat together, talked while we waited, and created a sense of community in during that time when stress is at it's highest, with our furry family members.
