Pacific Pets also has more high end dog food, so if you're looking for some good food for your pets, come here! I appreciated that I could bring my shy pup in and get some pets and treats from the staff working there. They have regular discounts posted on their social media pages, keep an eye out for that. I've been coming to Pacific Pets for almost 4 yrs. I moved to Beaverton two years ago and I still drive over here to give them business. I just called the store to let them know my Pomeranian was not eating this dog food in a tube I bought five large rolls a couple months ago. They double charged me on my credit card. I assumed they would simply reverse it, but they refused saying it was my duty to contact the bank and take care of their negligence myself. They lied to me and said they would contact me within 24 hours, which never happened. I will never set foot in this store again, because I can't trust them with my credit card information. read more

Great go-to pet store. I used to work next door, so it was easy to swing by before or after work. Unfortunately I don't work as close any more, so my husband has been going recently. BUt, I still appreciate the shop. They have a good diverse supply of pet food. Both for dogs and cats. They also have a variety of different toys and treats. I usually go there to buy a specific brand of Dog food that my pup likes, but I try to buy something "fun" each time. LIke a new toy that I've never seen, or a different brand of treats to take home. Or sometimes some of their specialty jerky and other things that dogs love. I also like that the associates in this store are really friendly and helpful. I can't believe the difference in feeding Orijen to our new Boxer pup compared to dog food we previously fed. They have the best price on this particular brand. Reasonable prices and great selection of high quality cat and dog food. I used to order my dog food online and have it shipped but I felt bad about the waste of cardboard and fuel, and then it became harder to find the food I was feeding online. Pacific Pets has Fromm, Acana, and Orijen, which are not available from the most popular online retailer anymore. They will also special order things for you if there is something specific you want that they don't have. Lots of choice of food and treats, although their bedding and toy selection is smaller. They have a decent selection of leashes and collars as well. The only reason I would choose a chain pet store over this place: their business hours. I understand it might not make sense for them to open before 10 or stay open past 6, but if it's outside their business hours and I need something I'm stuck going to Petsm--- down the road. read more

I'm so glad we have this local spot next to Hanks to get cat food and litter, and a little advice on the products without the soul sucking experience of driving out on TV highway to the chain store and their lame-o customer service. This store has a nice array of pet supplies. Reptile stuff, bird feed, ferret etc as well as dog and cat collars, food, beds and more! Nice local business with friendly people. Called to schedule a haircut and bath for my dog, the person answering phone wasn't knowledgeable about services. Granted, it is Sunday and the owner may be gone, but those working for you should be able to answer simple questions. Not open on Presidents Day?!? It's a Monday when so many are off, a great day to fill up your new biz with a lot of customers and you are closed?!? The major pet stores have always impressed us until we shopped at Pacific Pets this month. We took our Toy Yorkie Terrier in the store to select the proper harness and leash. Other items we needed included nutritional food, treats, chews, bowls, bed, front style pet carrier, tooth brush and paste, and worm prevention medicine. As we presented our shopping list to Brian the store Manager, he provided excellent options and was very knowledgeable of each product. We spent a total of $105.00 for many of the same brand names found in major pet stores which would have cost more than $300. Great pet store! Found this spot after moving to Hillsboro a few months ago. Nice little store with helpful staff. I usually call in my order because I like to get big bags and cases to last 2 -3 months and they get the order in quickly. Staff will even help carry your large order out to your car. They also have a rewards system that you can sign up for which is a great way to save a little money plus the prices on some items are cheaper than PetSmart. read more

When I still had cats, they would give me a good price on my food and litter so that I could get my supplies in the store instead of ordering online from Petsmart. Now I just have a dog and the price on his food keeps going up. The last time I got it the cost had gone up $6! It even had a sticker on it at the old price and rang up at the new price but they wouldn't honor the sticker. That's the only time I was unhappy there and since it was the young employees and not the manager, it may have just been inexperience. I believe in shopping locally as much as possible, but the costs can't keep going up. read more

I edited my review because it's been a few months since that first impression, and I must say I'm very impressed. Store is kept stocked and clean and always has good selection and absolutely fabulous prices. I love getting cat food there because they actually have decent cat food for a good price, and it's much better than getting some terrible food from Petco that's basically just corn and chicken scraps. Their canned food is also awesome and at a good price, and my cat loves them. While I do have a cat, I am much more of a fish owner, and in that this pet store more than exceeds all of my expectations. First of all, really great fish prices that are much cheaper than the chain stores. Their fish are kept in clean tanks, and floaters are quickly removed. Average plant selection (Java ferns, marimo balls, anubias) with the occasional oddball plant here or there, and again good prices. They also have a really good selection for a small store, and it varies from the more common fish like neon tetras and angelfish to the more "exotic" species such as some microrasbora species, dwarf puffers, clown killifish, and more. And if you don't see what you have in mind, you can always ask Josh or Brian to order you some and they will do their best to order the fish for you. Also, Josh is the go to guy for any fish problems. He knows a lot about fish and aquatic plants, and if you are having a problem with your fish come in on a day that he's working. And lastly, because it does happen, they have a great return policy on fish. I got about ten ember tetras from them that got ich and died shortly, and I was refunded for all of them. TL;DR-Great costumer service, service, selection, and prices. What more could you want? read more

Very friendly and helpful place. I went in for a specific size and shape of fish tank. The gentleman showed me what they had but I was very picky. He offered to order for me what I wanted and call me when it came in. He did just that. And when I was on the way there I called and told him I wasn't going to make it until a few minutes after closing. He was more than happy to wait for me. This place treats people right. read more
