    Cuts from my dog.

    I'm gonna start with I love to give positive reviews you hear about the negative so often it's hard to believe. I've been taking my dog to PetSmart for quite some time I would say over two years. I've never had any negative experiences. My dog never seemed frightened after she left. I get a call about an hour to two hours later thinking wow that was a really short grooming session. She's a standard poodle. It takes a bit longer. Only to hear the shattering news that she's at the vet due to multiple lacerations from the groomer Daley S. I ran to the emergency vet as soon as I could. She looked so scared half groomed with about 4-5 lacerations on her legs. Keep in mind my dog is about 5 1/2. This is never happened before she's never had a problem with grooming. My biggest concern was why didn't you stop at the first laceration and call me? Our pets are probably the most compassionate things that we have around us and to see her hurt broke me. It took me about 2 1/2 months to write this review because I've been so angry. I would strongly suggest not to go to this PetSmart moving forward. They stated that this has happened multiple times recently. I sent this review in simply to keep you aware of who you're bringing your dogs to. The choices, of course yours. Now I'll be learning to groom my sweet baby girl moving forward.

    We have been using Petsmart grooming since 2018. We have an older Lhasa Apso and the manager Jesse would groom her. And she was excellent and at the Petsmart on 25th since we lived in Hillsboro until 2022. We continued to bring her to that store until Jesse quit. We made an appt with Petsmart on 185th in Beaverton yesterday at 12:30. We got there at 12:05 and they wouldn't take her. (The other location took her an hour before) They said they had the cages but our groomer was at lunch so just wait. So we waited 25 minutes and walked in and there were four women there. Two grooming, two standing. Not a single person acknowledged us while we stood at the counter. Six minutes later someone new comes from the back and is going to take our dog but did not greet us or welcome the dog. Admittedly, I was already annoyed and while not rude, not as warm as normal. I was sharing about our dog, being older, tried making a few jokes about nails getting done and getting fussy as we get older. Everything was received with literally no change in her expression. I told her while our dog could get a little fussy about her feet, we've NEVER had a groom not finished. She took our dog saying maybe ten words to us and Ellie. They called an hour later and said THEY were at their limit with Ellie and we should come get our dog. We paid online, we tried to pick her up and got questioned about payment. Two women, were standing there, did not greet my wife, did not explain what happened, would not answer in regard to whether our dog was ok, just got our dog and pulled up the account and wanted a credit card. My wife showed them our online receipt, and they questioned her about the receipt. They asked for payment again and she reiterated that she already paid and showed them the receipt a second time. My wife went to leave with the dog and the second woman raised her voice and said "are you gonna pay or what??!! " My wife reacted to the accusation that she was taking the dog without paying and said "what the %#}, I'm not stealing 1/2 a groom, I PAID!! " And walked out. (Not the best response but understandable at that point) Our dog came out tail tucked and head down. She typically gets an all over hair cut, including face and tail very very short and now our poor pup looks like she's wearing leg warmers and a toupee. Worst customer service and grooming. She has gotten a hair cut every three-four months for 14 years and has never had 1/2 a hair cut. UPDATE: Petsmart 185th banned us. What a joke.

    Great care for my pup! Scheduled a puppy bath but they found her spay incision was infected so they couldn't bathe her. They were able to cut her nails free of charge. Very kind staff and you can tell they love dogs!

    I am absolutely disgusted by the care of the fish at this store. I purchase a lot of items from this company, but am now planning to take my business elsewhere. During my visit I found 2 dead betta fish in filthy cups, 3-5 sick bettas in filthy cups, and any "healthy" bettas were obviously not being cared for and were also in FILTHY cups. I only took a picture of one of the fish, but the other dead fish was a red veil tail. When I brought the dead fish to the staff and asked for a manager, I was treated very poorly. When speaking to an associate and to, who I'm assuming was a manager since they never introduced themselves, they literally took the dead fish from me and walked away without a word. There was no, "thank you for bringing this to our attention", no telling me how they were going to help the sick animals, no telling me how they would improve care in the future, nothing. I am so sickened by the cruel conditions this store is allowing these animals to exist in and the extreme lack of care from the staff. The customer service and overall experience today was absolutely appalling.

    This place is always super spendy I usually just go to Walmart to buy pet stuff but for the specialized dog stuff or random finds like this ice cream I just picked up it's always worth a look

    This is my neighborhood Petsmart. It is ok. My thoughts: -There is not usually more than one register open. Sometimes this is annoying. -They don't always have what I need in stock. Like their house brand litter ( not there the last two visits so I had to go to Cedar Hills) and the roasted Turkey Fancy Feast our beastie likes best. - The music is too damn loud. Always. -The parking lot is hazardous. - It's full of dogs. I'm sure dog people like this however. Not being much of a dog person it can occasionally be a bit much. But otherwise their reward program and coupons are ok. And it's pretty easy to get in and out. And they have rescue cats up for adoption. Oh and their toy and accessory selection is pretty good. That's all I got.

    We took our 5 month old Aussie here for her first grooming experience! If you know Aussies, you know they develop a lot of hair and fluff in some tricky areas, namely their butts. ‍ So since her hair was getting long down there, we decided to bring her in. We booked with Hannah G., who this review is mostly for. Hannah greeted us and helped check us in right away for our 12:30 appointment. She got down on the floor to introduce herself to our pup, who is both shy and excited when meeting people. Hannah explained to us what her haircut package entails and we showed her a photo of what we would like - a smooth backside with no other hair cutting, since our girl is still a pup with growing hair. Hannah was friendly and professional and whisked our pup off for her appointment. We picked up our pup three hours later (no problem, Hannah quoted us between 3-4) and she looked PERFECT. She smelled so good, her fur was shiny, and her butt fluff was no longer in tact! We are so appreciative of Hannah and the whole grooming team who checked us out and gave us a report on how our girl did for her appointment. Thanks so much, Hannah and crew, for making our first grooming experience better than we hoped for. We will definitely book again!

This pandemic and the immediate changes to everyday life have been quite impactful for many of us. And for a business which relies on people dropping off their fur kids on the way to work, one can only imagine the repercussions! Brian has kept the daycare open throughout the pandemic, as a resource for essential workers, as well as those of us who rely on some socializing and exercise for our pups during the week. The staff has been wearing masks, requiring masks, meeting dogs at the door to limit contact. And keeping the facility sanitary and safe. All while coping with the flux in staffing and scheduling. The facility remains clean, safe, and in fact has been upgraded in several areas to help keep the play area cool, "fresh" and comfortable for both dogs and staff. I encourage pet parents who have been clients to please keep supporting Brian and his team. And if you are new pet parents, or new to the area, please consider Buster & Lilly's for your fur baby's needs. They are terrific!

    I'm posting this now after reflecting on my dog's daycare history over the years, as this was the…read moreonly facility where we had a negative experience. Several years ago, I brought my dog here for daycare. During one drop-off, as I was about to drive off, he was able to bolt out of the facility and ran across the parking lot (in the dark!). Thankfully, a passerby caught him quickly and he was not injured, but this raised serious concerns about supervision and containment during handoff. After that incident, I continued bringing him back to use up pre-paid passes. From that point on, he always refused to leave the car-which made me concerned. Staff later told me he had developed a humping habit and said that if it continued, he would not be able to return. This was difficult to reconcile with what we experienced elsewhere. After we finished our passes, we used another daycare in Beaverton, where he had no issues. Since then, we've moved states a few times and gone to multiple other daycares in different locations, and he has consistently done well without any behavioral concerns. I understand that staff and policies can change over time, so this may not reflect the current operation. However, I think it's important to share past experiences related to safety and how dogs are handled following a stressful incident.

My aussie got her first heat cycle at 8 months and I was told she was allowed back in a few weeks once her cycle was complete. She was attending day care and training sessions a couple times a week. Unfortunately, I had some other personal matters come up and will be moving so I asked for a refund. They will not offer a refund on services and offered store credit instead. Okay, fine. I scheduled a weekend boarding to use up my remaining credit and I get a text this morning asking if my dog was spayed, if not she was not allowed to return. I understand the need for the policy but I was never made aware and was told previously by a staff member it was not necessary. I am not in a position to get her spayed right now, plus I am moving states next month. They still refuse to offer a refund of nearly $300. That is a good chunk of money that apparently they intend to keep. Doesn't matter that store credit never expires, I will not be able to use it. They made a mistake with lack of employee knowledge on policies and refuse to right their mistake and now stealing my money. This is wrong. I was emailing the owner back and forth and I am disappointed with their handling of this situation. I had my dog groomed and bathed on 2 separate occasions and she came back with mats and not dried properly. Some staff members were very standoffish and unwelcoming at drop off. There is no access to cameras and I was denied access to the facility to see where my precious pup would be. I do not recommend this facility.
