But you can't go just anywhere for dog grooming and other pet grooming services. Petco provides what amounts to a 'spa day' for our neurotic three-legged doggo. We can make appointments online, drop her off for a short period of time, and have the peace of mind that she is being cared for safely and lovingly. They offer various packages, but the package that works for us involves a nail trim, a bath, and even teeth brushing. All of that goes for about $50 and we always add tip on top of that. Sure, we can do all of those services ourselves, but it saves us the time, and quite frankly, the struggle, of getting our dog to sit still for all of those treatments. She doesn't like going to the groomer, but we are very pleased with the services that we receive, and our dog is always pleased to see us when we return. The only knock is the staffing can seem a bit disorganized, but that's just a minor thing. We get the value we are after and our doggo is always ready to show off after her trip 'to the spa'.

I'd advise taking care with fish- they use RO water, so drip acclimation will be necessary if you're on KC tap water. The Pygmy's cories I got from them were healthy, but they needed a slow acclimation to be put into my quarantine. They're now in the display. They're knowledgeable about their fish and plants (I'd assume salt water as well, but I don't have a saltwater tank, so I can't say one way or the other). The plants I've purchased from them have been great, except for one buce brownie tissue culture that melted and hasn't come back, but apparently my tank doesn't like buce, because I've tired multiple times, and buce melts and never come back, so I don't fault them for that. Their plants are nearly always in good shape and happy. I did buy some downoi that was super leggy, and so I trimmed it to use only the best of it. It's there, in the tank, and I'm watching to see what it does. But the tissue culture of the downoi I got from them really took off, and is propagating just fine. Their cost is in line with online sellers when you factor in shipping. I'll continue to use them. I've been pleased with the knowledge of the employees and their locality.

And I purchased my cats grain free treats through Amazon. The cat treats were not available so I decided to drop in and see if they had some grain free treats. The store is well lit, very clean, well organized. I was greeted and asked if I needed any help. I found the treats I was looking for which were a typical price compared to PetSmart. I purchased two different types and then looked around the store. They have a variety of reptiles, fish, small animals available for purchase along with the goods that are needed to care for them. The check out person was nice and friendly. A lot of people go into the store to look at the variety of animals. They seem to have a less than when I went there years ago. They do have puppies that are purebred for sale. The puppies look healthy and well cared for, but I don't really care for them being in a small cage each day. They also have a small monkey that's been in an enclosure for years. I do believe the monkey is well cared for, but I feel sad that he has to live his life in the enclosure. I don't know anything about the backstory with the monkey or if he possibly is taken out of the enclosure and goes home with the owners. I can't comment on that, but that is the only reason I give it a four star. Just looking at the store based on their products and their customer service on today's visit it was good. Obviously they don't have as big selection like a bigger pet store, but they're much more knowledgeable about how to care for all the animals that they do sell.
