We walked through the entire store. I saw about seven employees. We actually had to detour down a different aisle because one employee was restocking and took up the entire floor. Brought the dog in for a self-serve wash because our main bathroom is undergoing renovations. Will never wash dog at home again!!! This place provides brushes (although we brought our own), shampoo, towels, aprons, blow dryers and treats. So much easier than wrangling the dog at home, and no cleanup! OMG the betta fish. The containers are bigger than most stores, but they weren't looking good AT ALL . There is fish-feces and old food in there, at least when I went. It made me feel icky. They closed the store during regular business hours for a football game. Not everyone cares about football. They apparently cannot keep enough staff to be able to work during a sporting event that's not even in this town. Football isn't a holiday. I went to pet supplies to try and find a harness for my grand dog. She's kind of an odd fit and small and if I got it to fit one way it didn't fit the other when I came in they put a nice big towel in the seat in the Cart for her to sit in and then I went back to start trying on the harnesses one of the associates came back there and sat with me and we basically tried every brand on her and eventually we found just the right fit for her. If you join their loyalty program, there are a lot of straightforward $x off $xx coupons, and sometimes $xx off $xx. I've only been a couple times so far, but their prices are comparable to Petsmart - And so far cheaper for me, as my brands have been on sale. Then you add in the coupons, and they win price-wise. They also regularly have a few random flavors on clearance, (and expiration dates on the ones I've bought so far are way off in the future). The place is clean, and the staff has been pretty cheerful. I buy a lot of canned food, and I've noticed way fewer dented cans and mangled labels here than at various Petsmarts. They even cut the front side of the little cardboard boxes off to make it easier to pull the cans off the shelf. And the shelves are easy to navigate - For instance you can see all their cat food offerings by just going down two aisles. Plus it's a small thing, but their plastic bags seem quite sturdy (if you fail to bring your own). And it's right next to a HyVee if you need to pick up any items for yourself. It took me a while to try this place - For some reason I was like "Why try a smaller place, out of the way?" But it turns out they're not really out of my way, and they have everything I normally buy, in a more trustworthy condition, for a lower price. Also, since it's a smaller place, the checkout process has been a little more laid back. I'm happy to use them as my main supplier going forward. read more

Love their self serve wash setup- the dogs sit on a large wash basin, the is nice and high so you don't have to bend over to wash them. Soaps and conditioners are supplied along w towels, and there is also a hand held dryer.
