It's a huge store but they have limited items. The customer service is not that friendly and they aren't very knowledgeable. They recommended a customer spend $54 on a flea collar and shampoo instead of topical application. The cashier who was helping the customer seemed bothered by the question. Now you know I wanted to jump in but nah, I was cool. So I don't like the store because the layout is like a maze. You are forced to ask for help to find stuff well not clothes. Maybe that's why the customer service is a little off, they're probably annoyed. But guess what, I had to ask. Geez I couldn't find what I needed. So two cashier's are behind the register, I ask for pill pockets and they just stare. Then finally of them showed me where they were, with smile. I'm checking out and the shampoo/flea collar cashier asked if I had a reward card. I said no and she say nothing. I didn't pursue it because I'm only in here because it's next to the Chinese place I'm that I'm going to hit up next. So in a pinch, it's cool but as my regular furbaby spot, no way. read more

I really, really want to love this store. However, many of the products are not price marked, the store is usually messy and unorganized and the current staff needs better customer service training. While I love the products, I won't be going back after my last trip when they failed to give a marked 1/2 off discount and didn't apply my $50 gift card. I didn't realize it until I got home but when I went back they basically said they couldn't do anything. So I lost over $70 and the employee made no effort to resolve it o r even act like she cared at all. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Things seem to have changed since the previous reviews (note the dates in 2013-15) Nice shop, the staff was helpful. Better prices on the aquarium supplies and livestock that I was looking at (Resin props and African Cichlids) Some people get on to blast places for restocking and minor baloney, but obviously these people haven't done two things: worked in retail (restocking happens) and shopped at Dollar General (never seen worse service or messier store). This fish seemed ich-free, which is a major issue at big-box pet stores. 5 - I recommend. read more

I have been using Pet Supermarket for over 6 years now. I have found they have a huge quantity of quality stuff for our pet. The employees are always knowledgeable and courteous. They are extra friendly and will take me to find certain products. I was in shock reading these negative reviews. These people go out of their way to make sure we have everything we need for our Yorkie before we leave the store. I've found its all very reasonably priced also. Give them a try. read more

Pet Supermarket is a great place to buy pet food and find kitties to adopt. But one of the managers, Wes, is incredibly rude and often is harassing his coworkers whenever I'm there. He also doesn't treat the animals well either. I saw him pick up a cat and squeeze her tell she screamed at him. I try to avoid him every time I go, but he's usually at the checkout counter. Bought a bag of dog food but it came up $15 more at the register. I asked why it was more and the explanation given by the manager was that they don't even carry the bag pictured on the tag and it was cheaper. Crazy part was that she put the tag back and didn't change it so everyone buying that bag of food will be paying $15 more than expected. No, I will never go back! read more

Well today the manager yelled at me about how I'm a terrible pet owner, shouldn't own animals, and my cat should be euthanized so no, I wouldn't recommend them. Full disclosure my cats are being rehomed because we're moving and due to space issues they can't come, one of them didn't need to be in the store, but I was told he may act differently so give it a try. I told them when dropping off that he is easily over stimulated and isn't a huge fan of too many people, but to call us if anything went wrong. Apparently there were signs and issues prior to the final incident, but it wasn't until two kids were shaking the cat tower he was in and he flipped out that we were finally called. To say we never told them he had special needs is completely false and shows a real lack of communication between the manager and staff. I've worked in a pet store, I've worked in adoptions I get were the manager was coming from, but to yell at someone in the front of your store and turn it into a personal issue is completely unprofessional. I'll never recommend this place to anyone after that show. read more

I've been to this store many times for my cat and new betta which I've recently adopted. When I get information on cats or dogs it's very helpful and friendly advise that I need, however, this is not the case with my betta. When I first got my betta I already had a small starter tank, but purchased the food and water cleaner there as well as my betta. The woman who helped me was sort of rude; she made me feel very stupid when explaining to me the proper care of a betta and I did not appreciate it. I came back a couple weeks later for a bigger tank and wanted an opinion on the best option. When I asked about heaters though she told me very assertively that bettas do not need heaters even though when you a slight bit of research on bettas they'll tell you they are TROPICAL FISH that need heaters since they swim in warm water in the wild. This woman again made me feel stupid and treated me like I a child. She even told me if i get my betta a heater I'll shock them and come back for a new betta in a few days. I do not recommend coming here for your fish needs as they might give you incorrect information and treat you the way they did me. read more

Finally, a pet supply store in West Mobile! They have everything you need to feed or house your pets. They are more of a supply store though they do have some reptiles, birds, small mammals (not dogs/cats), and fish. Staff are super friendly. I go there mainly for fish supplies. They have a limited selection on fish. Mainly little ones, the ones that are easy to care for and to replace. I wish they stocked more goldfish.. But all-in-all, a good place to buy your pet supplies in WeMo. No more 30 minute drives to B&B or PetSmart! read more

This is the only pet store in Mobile that I really like. Everyone there is extremely friendly and helpful and they usually have everything that I need. I have a rabbit and a hedgehog and this store has all of the supplies that I need for both of them. read more
