There are lots of add-ons: I chose specialty cut & the details (teeth brushing, nail filing) which did Drive up the price. ($45 became $71) I will probably not do the extra details every time, but I do love that it only took 1.5 hours vs 3 or more at other places. This also means that they conditioned and brushed out her legs instead of shaving them for her schnauzer cut. My dog was tired but happy when I picked her up... and very proud of herself! Some things to keep in mind: Wednesday is their only long day and the latest grooming appt is 5pm. I booked my next one two months in advance. Tips are cash or check only! Bottom line, it feels good to support a local business that does good work!

Animal Hospital of Putnam has cared for my rabbits on numerous occasions and I have been more than happy with the expertise, caring and support I have received. The doctors are skilled and compassionate. After-care is always explained well. I have also had to bring pets in on emergency basis and we are always received immediately. The doctors take the time to explain the problem thoroughly. The staff is remarkably caring and supportive. I have also received calls to check on how my pets are doing after care at the hospital. I would also like to mention that the prices charged for the work done are very reasonable. So I had my cat and his brother set up for an appointment at Putnam Animal Hospital to have a…read moreneuter today. They initially, one month ago, when we made the appointment said that we needed to bring them in for 8:15 to 8:30. Yesterday I got two messages and my kids partner got two messages saying that the appointment was at 12:15 so we prepared for that. Just like with some doctors appointments who change their times without warning, i assumed this was them changing the times of availability. With two messages to me and two messages to my kid's partner who has Sammy's brother, confirming the same time, I assumed it was accurate. (My bad for assuming, but why would i think otherwise when 4 messages says the same thing? ) I got a call this morning at 8:40 asking where we were. I was not by the phone at the time. When I called them, they said I needed to be there by 9:30 in order to get them in for surgery. I said I live a half an hour away. It was 9:15 when I was talking to them. I said it's going to take me at least a half an hour to get there. They said, well we can't take you today. This after people taking time off of work and getting the cats prepared with no meals since midnight last night. I pleaded with them. They were extremely rude to me and they kept talking over me. If I had left my house when I was on the phone, I would have reached their office at 9:45. There was no leeway given even though they were the ones that sent the mixed messages. They kept saying I made the mistake with the time. These people were extremely rude and unwilling to bend to help two people that they gave mixed messages to. Consumer beware.
