Our husky Sloane was very sick very fast and my husband and I had to make a very difficult and heartbreaking decision before she got worse. We called Dr. Morrison as heartbroken and desperate pet parents, unsure of what we were calling for and just guidance from a kind vet who may understand our grief. Dr. Morrison not only answered the call but explained in detail her services and promised us a peaceful night. It was EVERYTHING and more. Dr. Morrison's approach may not be for everyone and that is ok. But what I will say is she absolutely makes this time about you and your pet. She's completely honest with her approach, what to expect during the night and what you may help with during the process. Dr. Morrison really eases you into the moments, tells you to tell her your pace and is considerate of your heartbreak. After it was done, she gave us all the time in the world to grieve and say our goodbyes. We took an hour and not one word from Dr. Morrison because she knew we needed that time. She stepped away during that time and just told us to come get her when we're ready She also tells us to be completely honest with her during this process; the pace, the things we may want like paw print or fur, at the end she wraps your pet in a warm blanket with a pillow a stuffy and a pink boa. We kindly said the boa didn't really reflect our girl and she immediately understood and took it off. It didn't take away from our grief or the moment because you know everything she does is to try and help. I cannot recommend her services more and I'm without a doubt convinced that there is a reserved seat in heaven for Dr. Morrison because of what she does for families everyday and the peace she brought us will always be appreciated. read more

Dr. Morrison called me right back and was able to fit us into her schedule. She explained the process well, asked lots of questions to get to know our older boxer. She helped us thru the grief involved in this process and I would suggest you give her a call if you are in need of assistance. Thank you Dr. Morrison read more

My goodness this lady was so hyper & not at all sympathetic. Tried to book an emergency and she was just talking away. She stated that my friend needed to call her because she has to "form a relationship with her first because if she doesn't then she's NOT coming out to euthanize her dog" My friend and her children are beyond devastated to have to put her dog down and she's hardly able to speak! When I told her that forming a relationship with her is the last thing my friend cares about right now, she just needs someone to come take care of her dog quickly. She stated "then good luck calling around vets today" and hung up the phone. Very rude, hyper & would not recommend. read more

It's always very difficult to loose a beloved pet no matter how many times you've gone through this. I have had at home euthanasia before, but not one Vet did what she did for our beloved boy KiMA. The time that she spent preparing us and him for this is beyond words. The compassion, the love and just the caring that I seen from her is more than I can say. She never rushed us or him one time !then she let our other pets one by one say goodbye to him. He was at peace and so were we. She gave us time to spend by ourselves with him when he was still with us, and when he was gone. His sendoff was fit for a king of what he was. I will never use any other place, but her. We are so grateful for her kindness and professionalism. Godspeed little boy and may you run like the wind and never be in pain again I will always love you and never forget you. I would definitely highly recommend her to anyone in doubt you will not be disappointed. read more

It was a very chaotic experience! I was hoping to have it be a very peaceful and calm experience and it was so far from it. Then at the end she laid her out like she was part of the circus. She put stuffed animals and blankets that weren't even ours and then put a hot pink boa around her head. She was fine the way she was when she passed. We didn't need this extra step. I waited a while to write this review hoping my feelings would pass about the experience. It would have been easier having this done at the vet. read more

Beyond heartbroken and disappointed with our experience with Dr. Morrison and Pet Home Euthanasia. Contacted Dr. Morrison for assessment of our pooch in failing health. First appointment arrived 2 hours late. Dr. Morrison spent approximately 20 minutes and did not bring any medical equipment to "assess" our dog. We already knew he was end of life and we were not made aware of outrageous price for assessment and were charged $350. Thought that would at minimum cover a portion of euthanasia as spoke of in coming days. We were told in follow up conversation that we could have had a phone/Zoom consultation for $39. We would have chosen otherwise. Website information is very vague and "affordable compassionate care" is the opposite of what we experienced with Dr. Morrison. We were sadly disappointed in our experience and would not wish this upon anyone already grieving the loss of an animal. Fast forward, we scheduled euthanasia on a Sunday so whole family could be with our precious dog. Dr. Morrison did not disclose additional fees and as an afterthought, we texted Dr. Morrison to confirm time and clarify what to anticipate regarding fees. Dr. Morrison called back and we were shocked and disappointed that it would be an additional $650. Appointment was set at 10:00 AM and reached out to Dr. Morrison at 9:15 AM. It went downhill from there. Dr. Morrison did not realize it was that time and was out walking her dogs. Would not likely have not shown up when expected were we not to have reached out confirming appointment time. Conversation with Dr. Morrison was so cold and lacking compassion. We were basically told if we did not like her pricing, we could take our dog to the vet hospital and pay less. My daughter could not get a word in and was in tears on the phone with Dr. Morrison. There is so much more in this conversation and no longer worth the sadness and energy already expended. This was not about money. It was about a kind and caring end of life for a furry family member. Were Dr. Morrison to have been upfront and kind in her communication regarding end of life details and fees it would have made such a difference in making decisions along the way. End of day, we were grateful to have contacted an affordable and compassionate service that was able to accommodate us on short notice in the most kind and loving manner. read more

When our 14 year old Rottweiler had needed euthanasia after a bone cancer diagnosis we wanted to do it in her home, not in a clinic. These people were so compassionate , gentle and caring it made leaving easier for her. Highly recommend this company. read more

My best friends beloved 10 year old dog Bob had end stage Cancer. It was his time and my friend didn't want Bob to be traumatized, suffer, and pass alone at a sterile and unfriendly Vet's office. He needed an experienced Veterinarian that makes house calls, to humanely and respectfully euthanize Bob and handle all of his final arrangements. I spoke on the phone with Dr. Michelle Morrison (Dr.Mimi) in the morning. She was extremely empathetic, professional, and accommodating. We discussed all of the details and scheduled an appointment for later that afternoon. Dr. Mimi sent us several texts throughout the day about her status and arrival time which gave us time to prepare. Upon her arrival the paperwork was signed, and Dr. Mimi took some time to get acquainted with Bob. She gave him some treats and a thorough examination to confirm his condition. She then explained the entire Euthanasia process in detail, and answered all of our questions. Throughout the process, Dr. Mimi asked us how we wanted to participate in each stage, which we appreciated her thoughtfulness. We were never rushed, and Bob passed very peacefully and respectfully surrounded by our family. His final arrangements were made earlier for cremation and the return of his remains in a beautiful cedar box, along with a frame containing his pawprint. Dr. Morrison, we THANK YOU for your very loving help and support with this difficult time for our family, and offer you our HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION for your services. read more

I can't thank Dr. Morrison enough for helping our family though losing our 15 year old best friend Ricky. She was there for us every step of the way. I really appreciated the amount of time she spent on the phone with me answering questions and helping me assess Ricky's condition. We could not ask for a more caring, compassionate person to help us through this very difficult time. We are grateful that we met Dr. Morrison and she was there to help us and especially to help Ricky. Thank you Dr. Morrison! read more

I used this place 5 years ago when I had to put down my dog. I am now again searching places for my parents who have to put down their dog and remembered this woman as I came across her Yelp reviews. I agree with the other 1 star reviews on here. She preys on the vulnerable who are grieving for their sick pet and charges you DOUBLE than what you anticipate. Her website does not show prices for after-hours/weekends/same day, travel and the "examination fee" which she will charge you in addition to what is quoted on her website so be prepared. I would suggest staying away because I can't recommend or respect those who are not transparent and take advantage of the vulnerable. Shame on you Michelle! read more

Dr. Morrison made an ugly day so much better. The process was thoroughly explained beforehand; it was as slow as I needed it to be; there was no pain; and she wrapped my girl in a blanket with a satin pillow and feather boa before she took her away ... which is exactly how I want to remember her at the end of this whole heartwarming/heartbreaking experience. read more

Dr Morrison was fantastic! Highly recommend her and her euthanasia services. Sadly it's very hard to find an in home pet euthanasia service on a Saturday when your beloved pet is in the middle of massive seizures that you just want them relieved from. Dr Morrison came as soon as she could was SO compassionate and respectful of our fur baby. It made the whole process not as horrible. And I can't thank her other client enough, for allowing her to reschedule his appt to later in the day so she could come to our rescue. That was a very kind thing to do. I think she said his name was James. I'm not sure how the really bad review on her is even possible. Everything we experienced was NOTHING like that review. Thank you again, Dr Morrison. Words will never describe how much you helped us yesterday. read more

Dr. Morrison is a very compassionate person. She was available for same day service. She took her time, explained every step and made a horrible day tolerable. Yes, she can talk fast. So what! She also takes all the time you need and when in the process she is very soothing and calming. She steps away while your loved pet is drifting away to give you the space to morn. Yes there is the logistic if you have a large dog that someone will need to help carry the dog out in gurney she provides. I personally did not want to load my dog in the car, drive to the vet, then have to drive home. I did that 15 years ago and it still haunts me. This was a much more peaceful solution. If it's your pet's time, strongly consider using Dr. Morrison. read more

Dr. Morrison does a very professional and compassionate service when we called her for our end of life procedure. She communicated each step of the way as we worked thru to the end. It is one of the hardest experience's We have had to go through and she was with us each step of way explaining why and how she did what she did when she did it. I called Dr. Michelle when my chronic kidney diseased cat, Lucy, was very reclusive, oversleeping, and suffering at the end of her disease. Michelle picked up the phone and came a couple of hours later, as soon as she could, due to traffic on the 101, southbound. I honestly didn't think Lucy would make it to my vet, who was completely booked for that and the next day. I panicked and I couldn't let Lucy suffer. Michelle arrived and checked Lucy over. She said she was mobile, alert, skinny, but had an irregular, pounding heartbeat. I can't remember the term she used. All in all, I knew Lucy had tired of struggling for over a year with CKD and other ailments. She had a high quality of life, but it was her time to go. Michelle was great with me in this process. read more

Dr Morrison brings more peace, acceptance and positive feelings to what is a sad task: putting down a beloved pet. She recently helped me with my 18 year old cat. Not at all hurried, pushy and left me knowing she too loves animals (she has a boat load of dogs)I highly recommend very few services because the provider hasn't thought through what experience the consumer wants/needs. Dr Morrison clearly has!! I strongly recommend her and give 5 stars only because Yelp doesn't have 6!! Dr Greg Kammeyer read more

Compassion ??? Are you serious ??? I called Dr. Morrison for an emergency with my dog who might need to be put down and was received by an extremely high strung woman, talking a mile a minute, who was practically yelling at me while driving. She did nothing to help calm my wife and I as our dog was on the verge of death and we were severely distraught. She obviously didn't want to make the trip to help us (unless of course we were willing to pay nearly $1500) and then spoke to me as if I was an idiot thuroughly explaining how a blanket was square - (Really?? As if I didn't know a blanket had four corners) and how to wrap our dog (so my wife and I could sling our dog and get her to the car to be taken somewhere- Where ??? Who is open at 9:35 pm on a Monday??? And wasn't the point to let our dog die comfortably in her own home ??) BUT THIS WAS THE KICKER... She contradicted the diagnosis of two different vets, and told us how horribly painful our dog was "to die screaming" when we were panicked already. Next she told me that no one else would come out ( insinuating that it was her high price or nothing). For the record, someone did come out, was very helpful with getting us through a rough decision and when we told her this story knew immediately without us even telling her this vets name, exactly who we had spoken to. They assured me that my dog would not have died screaming in agony and this was a typical fear tactic used by this vet to get distraught people to pay twice what everyone else charges in cases of emergency. So to continue with how horrible this doctor made our phone call, she then told us that if our dog (a larger breed) died during the night, how to wrap her body and gave us a phone number for someone to pick her up in the morning after leaving a dead dog in the house overnight. So much for a caring, understanding vet who wants to comfort pets and owners in their time of need. Her demeanor was completely uncaring, rushed, she was obviously inconvenienced, high stressed and there was no gentle touch like her website suggested. She was actually borderline cruel during our conversation and didn't seem to care one bit that anyone (dog, wife or myself) were in pain and were desperately seeking help. My wife and I will never be able to forget how she made one of our worst days even more devastating !! No wonder she has a horrible reputation within the veterinary community. Note: She even deleted my Google review to assure that people saw only a 5 star rating. read more

Dr Morrison is truly an angel on Earth . 2 days ago my mother's dog clearly was an agony and it was his time . I called Dr Morrison and she came out at 8:45 p.m. , even though she had been fully booked for the day . She spent 2 hours with my mom and I and she truly has a gift . I cannot begin to say how much she made a horrible situation beautiful. Our final memory with him is a beautiful one following such an agonizing decision and agonizing pain that he had been in . Please consider using her services and we are forever grateful to her . read more

Nothing compassionate about this service. Do not be fooled by the slick website. Thanks to all sorts of "extra" charges, the cost for a home euthanasia on July 5 (a holiday according to their vet) went from the already overpriced $325 to well over $500. They seem more interested in squeezing more money out of you rather than taking care of the needs of your pet. Move on and select another vet to take care of the final needs for your pet. read more

Saying goodbye to your pet is one of the most difficult experiences an owner goes through, especially when you need to take matters into your own hands to ensure they pass peacefully. I wanted to honor my sweet kitty by giving her a dignified passing and I knew that meant doing it in the peace of our own home. Though I cried every step of the way, I know that helping her to the other side is what she needed. Dr. Morrison is a compassionate, patient, knowledgeable guide through it all. I felt like we gave my sweet girl a beautiful passing and truly honored her spirit before, during, and after. Dr. Morrison does something special -- something very important. Thank you. read more

I hate that we needed this service but we didn't want our 15 year old Yorkie's last memory to be one of shaking in fear in a vet's office. Dr. Morrison was the only one we could find to come out on Memorial Day. She spent a lot of time on the phone with me over two days, was very patient with the family and other pets, was extremely knowledgeable about the process and took the time to explain everything and asked us all the right questions to make sure we were at peace with our decision. In hindsight, I'm so thankful we did it this way. I can't imagine how much harder it would have been without all of the thoughtful little touches that remain in our memory and bring us comfort. Our 14 year old German Shephard was suffering toward the end; he stopped eating, twice the day before we contacted PHE, he went out to the back yard and lay down under a bush on the dirt. Needless to say any more, he was ready to go. From the phone support to Dr. Julie who came to our house, all aspects of this business were professional, respectful, flexible and very kind and supportive. Dr. Julie was gentle with my dog and didn't hurry the "getting to know my dog" part. She went through our paperwork to make sure she knew all the details (and probably to make sure I hadn't inadvertently checked some wrong boxes in the form). She went through everything that was going to happen. Naturally I started to cry. She kindly said that if I could keep it a little under control it would make my dog less stressed. I pulled it together. At the end she told me I did great! I learned about PHE from friends who used them, they feel the same way we do. I highly recommend this business. Dana L. Today I had to say goodbye to my sweet Roxy after rescuing her 12.5 years ago. Dr. Morrison made this painful experience so much easier and peaceful. From the time I called her Saturday night to the time she came to the house she was so wonderful. I chose an at home euthanasia because my sweet Roxy hated going to the vet and I wanted it to be peaceful for her. Dr. Morrison spent almost 2 hours with us and explained everything that was happening. She helped my other dogs to understand that Roxy was gone bringing them in to smell her one by one. She even wrapped her in blankets, feather boas and had her surrounded by stuffed animals before she took her for cremation. After having this experience for something that was emotionally painful I don't think I would ever choose to have my dog euthanized in a vet's office. Thank you Dr. Morrison! read more

I waited a week before writing this review to see if after the situation I would think that maybe we all saw things differently after the fact. Unfortunately feelings have not changed over the situation. I have to say that making the decision to put an animal down is horrible, a decision I have made personally and in this case it was a friend of mine that I was helping out while she made this decision. unfortunately it was a weekend and there were very little options to choose from. If we thought he would have made it through the night we would have waited but he was looking pretty bad. In any case we were able to call Pet Home Euthanasia and she was available to come out. From the moment she walked into the house it was clear that she was not a good fit for us. Her up beat demeanor like she was just on a friendly visit to the random stuff that came out of her mouth that made no sense what so ever. Nothing about her was calming, sympathetic, empathetic, caring or compassionate. While my friend is holding her sick lethargic dog who has been un responsive for hours and crying hysterically knowing this was the last day. Dr. Morrison almost laughingly is asking her why she is crying?? Listens to her dogs heart and says Oh my he has a strong heart. What a strong dog he is. Again her voice loud and upbeat Who actually does that? My friend took months to make this decision and finally came to the realization that it needed to be done and now second guessing her decision and thinking she is giving up on him and feeling guilty because a random stranger that does not know this crazy dog says what a strong heart he has, oh he's just sleeping he's so tired. My self as well as our other friends wanted to tell her to get out of the house we were all fuming. My friend who's dog it was crying more saying she didn't like Dr.Morrison and now more upset. I talked to Dr. Morrison outside regarding the situation and her words and demeanor. It got 10% better but was still just horrible. Again if we thought we could get someone else we would have asked her to leave. Not sure if euthanasia specialists need to attend compassion classes but in this case I think she needs to attend some. All my friend needed was a little sympathy, a little I'm so sorry for your lose, this is a hard decision, he will be relieved of his pain and a little peace and quiet but unfortunately she did not receive that from Dr. Morrison except the part where she left the house for 30 minutes while we finished saying goodbye. I hate having to write bad reviews but in this case I though it necessary to warn those who need to have a euthanasia come to your house for a loved pet that this place may not be the best choice for you. I had more compassion taking my cat to the after house veterinary clinic. read more

Dr Morrison was amazing. She came to my home and let me say good bye to my elderly/ill cat at home. She was so compassionate and mindful of what I was going through and made sure that my cat and I were as comfortable as possible. She gave me the option of having her an explain everything and it really made a difference for me to understand what to expect. She gave me time before and after to spend with my dear cat and I am so grateful for having this experience instead of what I went through years ago with another elderly pet. I would never take another animal to a vet's office where they rushed me in and out of the office and sent me on my way trying to drive home through the tears and emotions. I have had two experiences with home euthanasia. My first was with Dr. Morrison. I had to make the decision for my twenty year old feline. It is with no doubt the hardest decision one has to make to let a loved one go. In my case it was time. Her age and the suffering she was obviously enduring out weighed the decision. Dr. Morrison had been working with her at home with chiropractic issues and was there for us when the time finally arrived. It was my first ever euthanasia experience. For such a dreadful time Mr. Morrison made it the most beautiful positive experience if you can even think such could be possible. She walked us through every moment, let us decide where the procedure would take place, gave us time to reminisce on the good times, gave us time to ourselves, and lovingly with great compassion for both our loved one and ourselves took our loved one to her cremation, inurnment and then brought back home to us. We felt such a sense of trust that our loved one would be respectfully taken care of by Dr. Morrison. That meant everything to us. You can put your faith and trust in Dr. Morrison that not only she is a professional practitioner that she also has a very sensitive demeanor. In having said that I would like to share a little about my second experience in order to expand and contrast. First let me explain we first called Dr. Morrison to ask for her help/assistance again unfortunately for us she had been called away and was not available. The second experience went like this the second they walk into my home they were very antiseptic. Had me sign paperwork and write the check first (which is understandable). Got right down to business, did not walk us through the procedure, they both sat and stared at their phones while we waited for him to go to sleep, they had no empathy and/or compassion and when business was done it was done. Their demeanor was strictly clinical. We did not have the same trust that our loved one was going to be treated respectfully after he left our care. When the time came to return our loved one after inurnment they made the statement that if we could not be at home they could leave him at the door if that is what we would want (REALLY). If this is the experience you want to have then you will not want Dr. Morrison. Dr. Morrison is the 360 degree opposite of the later experience. read more
