I'm writing this from my personal experience a couple months ago with our beautiful 15 year old pittie girl that we laid to rest, understanding my experience may have been an anomaly, but thought it should be shared. Noticing our girl's arthritis was getting worse, and the light in her eyes was not what it once was, we decided it was time to let our girl rest in peace. After much research/phone calls, we decided on Peaceful Passing to come to our home. We had to schedule about a week and a half out (quite daunting to know a date was coming), and we took care of payment in advance. The day of, they called us asking how we would like to remit payment (ugh). I made flower leis for our girl and my toddler son to wear, as we wanted to have her collar, and we waited for the call that the Dr was about 10 min out...then I broke down. After the Dr came, and she was at peace, we spent some time with her saying goodbye. She was taken with her blanket she was on, and we requested for it back. When it came time to pick her up, there was no blanket (I realized when I got home). I called, and they said they would look into it. A couple days later, they said it's ready to be picked up and they found it; I got it, and it smelled strong like Tide...which we don't use. After my mind went crazy with assumptions, I called them asking for an explanation; the blanket was washed because of bodily fluids, and they sent it home with another family! I was so sad that it didn't have her smell anymore, and that they mixed that up, and didn't tell me. My trust for them really went out the window with this ending...and wasn't really impressed with their presentation (we got a white gift bag, no writing, and a tin box). Peaceful passing (valet vet) was wonderful. It was such a hard decision to put my dog down. Knowing my dog hates going to the vet and with her age had difficulty walking i wanted her to be in the comfort of her home and not worry about stressing her out we decided we needed a at home euthanize service. I researched many places and chose peaceful passing seeing how i liked there packages more. Communication via chat was very convenient and when i needed a quick response i called and got help there. Unfortunately euthanasia of a pet isn't something you can necessarily plan for, so when we unexpectedly had to put our cat down during the holidays and our regular vet that performs house calls was away visiting family, we had to seek another option. I called Peaceful Passing the morning of New Year's Eve to see if they had any availability. Not only were they kind but they were quick to offer options to suit our schedule on the same day. Upon arrival Dr. Megan and her technician were calm and comforting as we took the final steps to assist out 17 year old cat to the other side. This is the most difficult Yelp review I've ever written. But they were wonderful. They were able to come out the same day, because really... who plans these things far in advance? The doctor and her technician were very sweet to our 15 year old dog. They made sure he was comfortable and were very gentle with him. They were also wonderful with us, explaining every step they would take before they took it... and most of all made sure we were all ready before taking the final steps to help our best buddy on. We were suddenly faced with the declining health of our kitty aka Butthead . His health wasn't improving after a week of getting his diagnosis. The LAST THING we wanted to do was take him back to the Vet, which is never fun for a cat, but I didn't want him to suffer any longer. Thank God I came across Peaceful Passings. From my initial phone call to the end, everything was handled with SINCERE CARE AND COMPASSION . Dr.Ginny and her techs were so kind and understanding . They comforted us in our grief and reassured us they they would take care of our beloved pet as he crossed over. This hasn't been easy but we can find some comfort knowing that our beloved kitty was able to say goodbye in his own home surrounded by his family. The Vet and her tech that came to my house were so caring, compassionate, and understanding of my pain and tears at having to let my not quite seven year old German Shepherd, Maddie down! Maddie had a malignant tumor growth in the armpit area of her right leg. Her leg and shoulder had swollen to the point that she could barely walk. I was devastated, especially since she was so young and had only been diagnosed one month before. The Vet explained everything she was going to do. They were so gentle with my Maddie Girl! And when Maddie had finally passed, and they had placed her busy in the back of the van, the Vet gave me the most loving and longest hug that I've ever had from anyone! Dr. Steinhauer was kind and compassionate. She walked us through everything she was doing. She treated my dog with respect and also was friendly towards my other pets who were curious. I was especially grateful for how she treated my dog after he had already passed. She talked to him as she and her partner were placing him gently on the gurney. That seems odd but it really was comforting. This was the first time I used in home euthanasia. It's a little pricey but after how peaceful and comforting this process was, I'd do it again. I was very pleased with the compassion and care I received from peaceful passings, when I had to put my 12 year old chihuahua down. They were kind, and understanding. They gave me time to say good bye, and also for my other dogs to say goodbye. Most importantly, they allowed my sweet old girl to pass peacefully at home where she felt safe. Unfortunately I had to call them again to assist with the passing of my cat. It's never a call anyone wants to make but they make the process the best they can for owners. They got my appt. set for the next day, they emailed me the forms to fill out in advance. When the veterinarian arrived she had an assistant with her and she greeting me with a smile, they were both very nice and understanding of my slobbering tears. They checked on my cat to evaluate her and agreed it was indeed her time. We handled the payment and she walked me through the process before we started. She asked if I had any questions and then we began, again, she walked me through everything. After my cat passed on, they picked up and before leaving she gave me a hug with her condolences. I can not imagine a job where you see people in their saddest moments yet these professionals held it together and helped me. Peaceful Passing was a Godsend for us when it came time to say goodbye to our beloved dog. They allowed our dog to pass in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family, toys and things he loved. He even wagged his tail when they arrived because he recognized two good souls. I was obviously distraught so I don't remember the names of the two angels who helped our baby return home, but their kindness, compassion and grace eased our pain and allowed our baby to pass gently. An amazing service filled with caring and loving professionals. Dr. Sheena Tarrant and her assistant came to our home when our Great Dane was not moveable. We were given a treatment plan and the Doctor told us the next day was her day off but if we had problems, to call and they would help. We reached Dr. Gina who helped us on her day off accessing records and giving us another plan of action to help our loved pet. Unfortunately, we had to make the decision to put our pet down. I can't say enough about having the opportunity to say our goodbyes in the comfort of our home. Our dog, Winter, was not afraid and passed peacefully while I held her head in my arms. Our Yellow Lab Ripple crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday 10/10/17. It's always tough, but we believe in our heart and soul we did the right thing. She was 15 years old. Dr. Sheena and her Tech were very respectful, compassionate, and professional. All our concerns and questions were answered. It is infinitely better to be able to have end-of-life/hospice care, and ultimately euthanasia in the privacy of your own home. It's certainly much better for your pet, but equally better for ourselves as well. It's a difficult decision, and a difficult time.
