This surgery center has a knowledgeable and caring staff who provided several options for Moon to have her hip joint repaired. They took the time to explain the procedure and the recovery process, which we appreciated. Although the cost set us back financially for a couple of weeks, we are truly pleased with the services and all of the follow-ups. It has now been 3.5 weeks since the surgery, and Moon is already able to use her hind leg again after several daily walks. We still have three more weeks to go before the final examination with the same staff, but so far the recovery has been very encouraging. My advice to other pet owners is to communicate well with the clinic and carefully review the estimates so you understand the costs involved and can make informed decisions for your pet family member. Care surgery center without a doubt saved my dog! We were at the park one evening playing fetch and both of my puppies slammed into each other breaking my girl pups leg. She spent the rest of the night in severe pain. I felt so terrible for her. The emergency vet that we took her to that evening couldn't even get her in for surgery for three days, or do anything else other than pain medication. I woke up first thing in the morning and called care surgery center, and they no joke got my dog into surgery within two hours, finally getting her out of pain! They were so quick and professional. I don't even know where to begin, everything was so amazing. We suddenly found out at the ER vet our dog had a large mass on her spleen we were so scared. The staff at CARE made us feel so comforted. The first phone call I really felt that the woman had empathy for our situation. Then we got in for a consultation appointment the next day. The facility is so clean and welcoming. They even had a little sign with our fur baby's name on it. Nurse Lisette from our consult was so sweet to Stella who was nervous and helped break down what to expect and costs (and care credit) in such an informative way. Dr Keats was very thorough in his explanation and patient in answering all my questions (I had a list). On our surgery appointment day it was early in the morning and everyone was still so friendly, kind, and welcoming. Nurse Sean on our surgery day was so sweet and communicated realistic expectations about the day. The staff and dr were so communicative throughout the process of surgery texting and calling with updates which gave me such peace of mind. When we picked up our girl to take her home nurse Sean helped explain everything great for recovery and also had patience for all my questions. While waiting for them to bring her to us, we could hear all the staff saying bye to her in sweet voices . Our 10 year old brave baby is at home resting and recovery is going perfectly. One year ago today, May 9 2022, Dr. Bleakley performed heart surgery on my dog, Ozzy, and saved his life. Ozzy had been diagnosed with Valley Fever that disseminated to his heart. He had been in emergency care for 4 days, was in heart failure, and his only option was a pericardiectomy. Dr. Bleakley explained the procedure to us in great detail and made us feel very comfortable leaving Ozzy in his care. We were able to bring him home the next day, and one year later he is happy and healthy and living his best life. Although he is still being treated for Valley Fever, it is under control, and his heart is healthy. I can't thank Dr. Bleakley and his team enough for what they did for Ozzy! read more

Care surgery center came recommended to me by a vet tech, and I'm so glad we went them! My 5 lb pomchi Swiper had his cranial cruciate ligament rupture due to his luxating patella and had to get it repaired unless he was to be on chronic pain meds. We came for a consult initially and the vet techs were very kind and Dr Bleakley demonstrated what was going on with my dogs ligaments/bones (he had an anatomical figure to demonstrate) and why he needed surgery. I was hesitant about my dog getting surgery as he is very small and in the past it has taken him a while to warm up after surgery. I relayed my concerns and Dr Bleakley explained all the warming measures that are provided during and after surgery. We came back at a later day to get the CCL repaired as well as fix the luxating patella at the same time. After surgery we got a lot of education and a whole packet on home physical therapy instructions, what to expect, and even a little certificate for Swiper. We were encouraged to call with any and all questions. We also got a phone call the next day to see how Swiper was doing. On a non surgical note, I have pet insurance and could not afford to pay the full price of the surgery upfront so the front office worked with my pet insurance so they would pay their portion the day of the surgery (for my insurance it is 80%). The front office during the whole process was very quick to email me the doctors notes/labs/images before and after surgery so I could send it to my pet insurance and also keep for my own records. They also had someone in their office reach out to my insurance so everything was figured out for the day of the surgery. There were no hiccups. Swiper is now over three weeks post op and using his surgical leg more and more every day with no signs of pain! His incision site looks beautiful, he did not develop any complications thankfully. To clarify what another person reviewing wrote, the animals do recover after surgery on site, but if an animal needs more monitoring after 5pm (which is never anticipated in an elective surgery) they are transferred to the closest emergency vet hospital. My dog luckily did not need extra monitoring and he came home same day as anticipated. I would 100% recommend any pet owner to have their dogs surgery performed here. It was the least anxiety I have ever felt over my dog getting surgery. read more

My husband and I are not typical dog owners and many would consider us crazy when it comes to our pet. She's our child. The anxiety and fear we had to get her a cholecystectomy with liver biopsy at her age (13) was enormous. Our fear was more about her recovery than the surgery itself. Dr. Bleakley and his staff were wonderful. They were professional, friendly, and there was no pressure involved during the process. Dr Bleakley was thoughtful and informative, which was appreciated. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is that it would've been better had the surgery center had its own recovery center. The pet is transferred out once surgery is completed. This is truly unfortunate as there is no continuity of care and the accepting treatment center left a lot to be desired. I was very disappointed with this establishment. my service dog, Moose, was in need of abdominal surgery. the surgery went well as far as I was told by the technician not the doctor. we took him home after an extremely expensive stay with stitches and NO antibiotics. after a two week rest and recovery at home Moose went back to remove stitches. 3 days later we woke to a bloody mess! Back to Care we go. After waiting for a long period of time they finally took Moose to check why he was bleeding from his suture area. Shocker: he had a post-op infection! This could have been avoided easily with prophylactic antibiotic therapy. We discussed providing antibiotics after his surgery but we were told that this was not necessary. you would think that a 5000+ dollars he would have received excellent post-op care! I am beyond grateful I found Care Surgery Center. My dog, Monster ended up with a torn meniscus and CCL. I was devastated and feared the worst for my baby boy! (He is my whole world!!) Thankfully, they were able to get me in the same day and even though I walked in a hot mess and still feared the worst. I am so so so so impressed by this amazing facility. The staff, including Dr. Bleakly and Dr. Prince made my dog's visit so pleasant. He is a Rottweiler who needed three procedures simultaneously and historically has needed over a month to recover from prior surgeries. This time, the team at CARE were able to do it laparoscopically and now, two days post operatively, he is feeling like his old self. They even sent home dog treats to get him to take his meds along w a folder showing me what happened while he was there. My dog had surgery for a broken leg in December 23rd, 2023. I was told to get her bandage changed every week. I called to talk about her progress and was told that the bandage should come off after a week. I explained what I was told. The next time I called someone else told me no, the bandage needs to be changed weekly. I did this for eight weeks and was charged $50 each time, My dog was not using her leg like she was supposed to after 5 days. It was very concerning and I communicated that to Care Surgery Center. I had to get extra xrays. By the time the bandage came off there was a bad bruise on her elbow. I was told that it was normal. I also was told that the bone wasn't healed and my dog may need shock therapy for it to heal properly. The doctor told me that the weekly bandage changes weren't necessary. I get this info after spending $500 on bandage changes and X-rays, this in addition to being charged $500 more than the top end of my estimate. Not only did I ended up paying $1000 over what I was expecting, my dog suffered a bad bruise and an extended healing time. It was disappointing when they didn't honor the quote given to me . Six months later there is still a scab and sensitivity on her elbow. The confusing communication made for a very disappointing experience. read more

Dr. Radlinsky did a great job of taking care of Blush my Aussie girl. She was in surgery with her for about 5 hours and was able to complete everything needed. Blush is MDR1 gene positive, so Dr. Radlinsky offered an option to have a anesthesiologist assist with the surgery so she could make it through the procedure safely. Dr. Radlinsky used new tools to minimize bleeding of the liver when removing a tumor. I was very worried about Blush, but she was in the best hands to take care of her. This CARE Center is fantastic. I have now seen two doctors there and they are both fabulous. Everyone there is. I called on Monday to see how soon I could get a dog in. My 10 year old had cyst or tumor on her ear that ruptured on Sunday. 4 visits to the emergency vet and spent all day Monday at my primary vet and nothing stopped the bleeding. They took her in Tuesday at 9:15 with the intention of same day surgery. Dakota had an ear amputating and finally had relief. She even came back to me with her tail wagging after the surgery. Dr. Bleakley and Dr. Prince are HANDS DOWN the best vet surgeons in Arizona. My Bullmastiff, Duke, has been doing battle with a sebaceous cyst on his back for months now. It was going to take another 2 months to be able to have it removed with our general vet. We called CARE Animal Surgery Center and they were able to see him immediately. Dr. Bleakley was able to remove the cyst right away and sent it off for biopsy. I'm so grateful to the amazing staff who listened to our concerns, answered all of our questions, and gave us a price estimate up front before we even hung up the phone. They called the following day to check up and make sure he was doing ok, answer any follow up questions we had. I can't give enough stars to the CARE team for the work they did. Dr. Seth Bleakley seems like a very compassionate surgeon at first and the facility is clean. The staff seem kind and happy. However, Dr. Bleakley took on a nephrectomy (kidney removal) for my dog and best friend Pepper. He hit an artery and she a lot of blood loss during surgery. He then sent her for post operative care at AVECCC in Peoria where the level of care was negligent, I was constantly miscommunicated with, and they did not pay attention to my dog. She died three days later in a kennel alone after a slow painful decline where they did not properly feed her as we agreed upon, delaying urgent care. I begged them to pay attention to her, and I was consistently told they were understaffed (13:1 animal to technician ratio in the ICU) and could not care for my dog. I called Dr. Bleakleys office on Friday, the day after surgery before she died asking for help when speaking to the vets at AVECCC and I was told curtly that they can no longer help me and it is up to the vets at AVECCC. Prior to this during my consult I was told the Care staff would be with me every step of the way. The staff at AVECCC does not communicate with Dr. Bleakley. They wanted an ultrasound for her but had no ability. On Monday after my dog died, all I received from Dr Bleakley was an email saying he was sorry, no phone call, no follow up. When I asked for a meeting and asked why he wasn't able to be available through the weekend he expressed the importance of his 5 children. He couldn't at least have followed up on a very difficult surgery for my dog a few times and spoken to the staff at AVECCC? When I told him what occurred at AVECCC, all he could say is "what do you want, an apology?" "No". i replied, "I don't want an apology, I want you to not send dogs there and to follow up on your surgeries." Dr. Bleakley told me he would speak to the medical director but did not for 2 weeks until I followed up with him. AVECCC has now changed its story about its staffing and is unable to answer many of my questions. Care surgery center showed bare minimum care to my dog, put her in a life threatening situation, and then did not follow up and see her care through. I am heartbroken at the loss of my beloved dog. The nightmare at AVECCC keeps me up every night and the guilt that I didn't choose a better surgical center and follow up care for my dog. I feel it is all a sham. if your pet is undergoing something minor, maybe this place is okay, but if your animal may lose its life, this is not the facility to go to. Dr. Bleakley only cares about your money once you are out the door. Pepper was a once in a lifetime dog and I was robbed of years with her and charged a combined $11,000 between Care Surgery Center and AVECCC for sub-par, negligent care when I was promised the best. I will never get over this, but it seems the staff at Care Surgery Center never actually cared at all. read more
