Great place to come to wash your pet. $18 per token for 24 mins or buy 3 get one token free. Easy to take our dog a bath. They provide an apron, clean towels and a few treats. I always bring my own shampoo though because sometimes the shampoo they provide hardly comes out. So I suggest to bring your own. The employees are always helpful. I see them clean the bath tub right each pet for the next pet. read more

This place is fantastic, especially if you are looking for something specific that may not be easy to locate (pet food with no gluten, human grade pet food, etc.). My family has been to this location as well as the one in Clayton, CA and both of them are great. The staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They make it a pleasant experience to shop there. The only potential downside would be that it is pricey. If you are looking for cheap pet food this is not the place. It's been worth the money for us, as we can tell how healthy and happy our dog is with the quality treats and food he gets. Also, our dog is training to be a service animal, so there are certain items we need that can be very hard to find. Pet Food Express is the place to go. read more

Dog washing station worth it. I can get him in and out in an hour where at home the set up clean up and dry time would take HourS!

Been coming here for about 2 years and have always received great customer service from Maya. My dog, Penny, loves the attention and kindness she receives every time they see each other. Penny is excited every time we go and we won't be going to any other pet store anytime soon :) read more

Paula was an angel compared to the horrible witch we encountered the first time we went . Broom tilda didn't even give us a receipt for the products we purchased so we had to come back and get something that helped our animal because the stuff the first lady suggested made our animal sick so I really think the nice lady Paula for helping us.. The place is racist and it's 2025 .. really sad .. they stare u down while ur shopping it's really sad read more

Great customer service. Great selection. As opposed to the other pet store giant in the same parking lot where you could literally die on the floor before somebody would help you. read more

Self service pet wash is gold here. The price went up from $15 to $18 but worth every penny for a warm wash and blow dry for our furry huskies. On this day, we brought in Maya and Laika. Maya did not enjoy her spaw day however Laika loved it. read more

Pet Food Express - Laika after her spaw treatment, all clean and shiny - Pet Stores Near Me - Antioch, California

This pet food store and location is my most favorite! I am always greeted when I come in to shop for my Maya, they always have her favorite food and treats in stock, they always make friendly and genuine conversation when checking out, and they know their products! I also enjoy the cleanliness of their store, the ample room in between aisles, and the overall experience. Just love, love Pet Food Express! A million stars! Thank you. read more

I love that PFE is Oakland owned (not a big heartless corporation) and invests in our community! They donate stuff to local shelters. Great people, who care about animals + a great selection of quality controlled foods & treats. I needed a little extra help with a pickup order and the associates were very kind and helpful. read more

Shout out to the manager Pete!! He helped me resolve my dilemma. After listening and providing me with above and beyond customer service. I've been to this store a few times and it's always clean and has many items in stock. I also want to give a shoutout to another lady that helped me the last time I was there. I don't know her name but she is older, wears glasses and is patience. She is wonderful in answering my questions and giving me great product suggestions! Absolutely a joy to visit the store! Thank you to everyone else in keeping this store running smoothly. read more

Self wash is so convenient and they have all the necessary tools. We were driving in from LA SF bound and stopped by to bathe the pups. My only complaint would be their automatic shampoo dispenser doesn't dispense shampoo that well and seems like your just rinsing pet in water. You're better off bringing in your own pet shampoo and conditioner. read more

Pierre was a wealth of information. The entire staff was very helpful. I will definitely be back.

Took my two pugs in to get a wash. This was our first time at there self wash facility. We got tired of cleaning the mess in the shower at home. What a wonderful experience. 3 different types of soap and a blow dryer. Super convenient and easy. Pretty inexpensive at $15 dollars for a token. One token I was able to wash both pugs. I will definitely take them back again! I also needed to buy a new leash for one of my pugs. I was helped by a nice girl who gave my dog some treats. I wish I remembered her name!! read more

Pet Food Express - Apollo - Pet Stores Near Me - Antioch, California

This is based on my wife's discerning opinion. We became aware of this pet store because on weekends they host the VIP pet care service that provides needed vaccines at a fraction of the cost than vet doctors charge. The overall feel is pleasant and my wife really likes the healthy food options. I noticed a pet cleaning area but haven't used it yet as our corgi is still too young and small anyways. We think the owner is always there because he is an older man who is always available to help and fills in anywhere he sees a need. There is an older lady always there too with her two big relaxed dogs just hanging out and socializing. Plenty of parking and a few doors down from a ramen place as well as Habit Burger. read more

Longtime Pet Food Express (PFE) customer - today was my first time bringing my dogs to the self wash station. I had to bring one at a time because they're a handful. I was presently surprised to receive the first wash complimentary. ALL of the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and provided so much information. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant and positive experience. I ended up purchasing additional items at each trip. One of my dogs, pictured here, is extremely fearful/reactive and thankfully he did really well. The washing stations are very clean, easy to use and private. Thank you PFE! I will be back!! read more

These days it's hard to find someone who is helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the customer's overall satisfaction. I can't say thank you enough to the manager, Karen for taking the time to help answer my endless questions and recommending products even though the store was really busy. I had such a positive experience thanks to Karen I will no longer be shopping at other pet food express locations. Karen, thank you so much for all your help and for such a positive experience. Yes I've reviewed this place before but honestly, they really do deserve my reviews. Today I brought in my 15 year old dog who's literally shedding like a beast. I've never left a bigger mess when bathing him there over the last 13+ years I've been bathing him here. I felt HORRIBLE and asked if I could help clean it up but they said no but the way they said it wasn't snarky at all. They literally replied with kindness like usual. If it weren't for them making me feel comfortable bringing him In I honestly don't know what I'd do. I'm ridiculously grateful for this place! read more

Toni at Pet Food Express on Piedmont Av. provided excellent client service when I was having two ID tags made for my dog. She ensured it was exactly as I wanted and even found a better way to engrave the information on the tag. She was amazing and cared to not only do what I requested but made the tag's information even more useful. It was a huge relief to get a tag made with updated information and be able to include all the information I wanted on it. Toni is a gem and a perfect representative of Pet Food Express and its appreciation for their clients and their pets. Thank you Toni! read more

I love this store! The employees are always helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Huge shoutout to my favorite employee, Olivia! I recently rescued my fur baby, Ace, and it has been quite a while since having a pet in our home. Olivia has helped me so much with product and food recommendations, assistance in the dog bathing area (which we love because it is always super clean) while always wearing a smile and happy to assist. I have recently told family members and friends about this store and they are now customers, as well. Good customer service can be hard to find so wonderful young people like Olivia should be acknowledged. read more

Slow clap for this store. I LOVE shopping here. I get help, honestly answers, and they always have what I'm looking for and they are all genuine pet lovers. Bobby was amazing. And I'm fired because I can't remember the girls name with pink hair. But she was the best! Knew stalk and product I have literally told all my pet owner friend that's this is the only store we shop.. thank you guys!! read more

I am not one to leave bad reviews, but this situation warrants one, so here it is. We have been coming here to bathe our dog for the last 8 years. Unfortunately, today will be the last time we bring her here. The customer service is not as good as it used to be. I always asked for an extension on the dryer because I have a husky-shepherd, and the time to dry such a massive body and fur is just not enough. Previous staff have always been gracious and let us have the extension because it's not like we take up all 25 minutes of the drying time; we just need a little bit of extra time, maybe 5-10 minutes max. Today, when I politely asked for an extension, the staff came back with a coin and said, "We're going to give you this coin, but this is the last time, because according to my manager, you should have been more prepared." I was taken aback by this response. "Should have been more prepared?" What does that even mean? I have my own shampoo that I bring with me; I literally only use their facility, towels, dryer, and water. Twenty-five minutes for $18... She proceeds to tell me that next time I should use my own coin to extend the dryer, meaning spending another $18 for a 5-10 minute extension, because if she lets me do this, then that means they have to let everyone else do it. That does not even make sense because it's not like all the customers need an extension; it just so happens that my dog is huge and the 25-minute limit is simply not enough. Anyway, very disappointing staff and management. I don't know if they've recently changed managers, but if they did, it's not being managed well. Hence, we won't be coming back. read more

This place is the ultimate pet food store to get your dog eating real good! The staff is super knowledgeable about all of the food and products that they sell there and can help with any questions that you have about your dog. We have a Yorkie and a brand new German Shepard puppy who we wanted to find the perfect food for. Pet Food Express provided us tons of information about our breeds and made great suggestions on food and supplements that are geared towards our dogs specific needs. They also have an excellent return policy if your dog ends up not liking what you purchased. You can bring it back with no hassle at all. If you love your pets as much as we do, it is worth it to invest in getting your dog some top of the line food from Pet Food Express. You and your dogs definitely won't regret it. read more

Hat's off to Pet Food Express of Brentwood. Sad to say that the experience I had there today was RARE! I told the owner I was on a mission for an abandoned kitten. She walked me around helping me gather everything I needed for a stray kitten that would travel a bit to her new home. She gave me a few toys toys and some treats, gave some suggestions on a travel litter box (then gave me the boxes to use)....Honestly, I should not have been surprised, we should all give and get this kind of customer service, but I just don't see a whole lot of it these days and found myself "surprised". PLEASE...if you are in Brentwood or surrounding area....use them! REALLY A FANTASTIC STORE, good pricing, and unbeatable customer service....they clearly love what they do and do it with a servant's heart! They just earned my business for life, I won't shop for my pets food or accessories anywhere else! read more

Love this store, but so disappointed they discontinued curbside pickup. Also really frustrated that they don't deliver to Oakley. (I mean, come on, it's the neighboring town. Ordered online and waited almost 10 minutes for the "online order captain" to find my order and bring it out. It would have been faster to get the items from the shelf myself. I would order from you on a weekly basis if you delivered to Oakley. Instead, since you discontinued curbside pickup, I guess I will have to shop on Chewy and Amazon until the pandemic subsides. read more

I must say I had a very good experience today with pet Foodexpress. Customer service was outstanding my sales associate that worked with me Monte was very helpful in educating me and reading the labels on packages that I was concerned about I was trying to find something for my cat who has severe diarrhea and was trying to find a product that was best for my cat I showed her several pictures and gave her all the information she needed . she listen to me without any interruption and then showed me a few products that she thought would be helpful for my cat if she did not know the answer she was eager to find the right answer she never gave me any false hope I just want to take this time to thank her for an outstanding customer service experience in this store. Monte well done and you deserve to be recognized, If you are ever in this pet Food express ask for Monte and let her know what a great job she's doing. she's fantastic. I will be back read more

Visited the Antioch East location yesterday to find a dog house for my five-year-old who loves to lounge outside most of the day. Instantly greeted by Troy, who had a great attitude and was very knowledgeable. He helped me retrieve the exact dog house I was looking for. Troy was very personable and actually suggested trails and hiking locations that my dog might like, which was awesome because I've been trying to find more activities for her to do. He was then kind enough to help carry the dog house to the car after ringing me up. I have rarely ever shopped at Pet Food Express but Troy really made the experience easy and I left with more than I had expected. I'll definitely be stopping by this location for any of my other dog needs. read more

Went to the Antioch store today after a terrible experience at Petco trying to get my dog washed. The lady at Pet Food Express, whom I think was the manager, was fantastic. She recognized my distress from my experience at Petco and totally took care of me. Walked me through the whole wash experience as I had never done it before. Helped calm my dog and myself while restoring my faith in the kindness of strangers. Unfortunately I didn't get her name as I was totally focused on my dog at that point. Thank you so much for your help! Will never go to a Petco again as there actions have totally lost any and all of my busines Pet Food Express all the way! I will always recommend you to any pet owners. read more

This store is always clean, employees are knowledgeable and hands down they best customer service. I have been going there for years. I don't have too many complaints. Except for one, they never have collars and leashes in stock. I'm not sure if people steal them or the just can't keep them on the shelves. They almost always have a deal and with a membership card you are always getting $$ towards a purchase or a free item. I bought a new dog food. I keep trying different brands because my dog is over weight and has allergies! The over weight part is my fault! They have so much to choose from and are constantly adding new brands. I know must of you have gone to pet food express so I will keep this short! This store is awesome and highly recommend. read more

I love all the employees at this store, but this review is specifically about Payton. I love this girl. I took in a foster dog who was having major tummy issues. She meticulously walked me through products and helped me get my girl feeling better in a hurry. She is always so pleasant and helpful, even getting me some paperwork that I needed to become a partner and then waiting to see me again to give it to me! She always asks about the dogs and is just such a joy to talk to. I wish every business had people like Payton working there. As an aside, all of the employees in this store are friendly and helpful. The store is always clean and the bathing station is a lifesaver for my bathroom when having to bath large dogs. Shopping here is always a pleasure! read more
