I do not trust this location. I accidentally placed an order at the wrong store, and the app did not give me an option to cancel -- only to call. I assumed the order would automatically cancel if I didn't pick it up. Instead, I never received a cancellation email. When I checked my app later, the order showed as "completed," and my bank account confirmed I had been charged. When I called the store, the associate couldn't locate my order and a manager had to step in. I was told the order was marked as picked up because the item was no longer on the pickup shelf, so staff assumed it had already been collected. That explanation was very concerning, since no one verified my identity before completing the transaction. To make things worse, I live over 30 miles away, and the manager offered no compensation or solution other than telling me I would need to drive to the store in person to process a refund. It made no sense that the order could be completed without me being present, but the refund required me to be there physically. Thankfully, PetSmart customer service eventually resolved the issue and issued my refund. I'm sharing this as a warning so others are aware and double-check their pickup orders. I truly hope this was due to poor training or process, but the experience left me extremely disappointed and without trust in this location. read more

I never leave bad reviews but I feel like I have to today. I went into Petsmart to get a few snails and I noticed a dying beta fish. I asked the friendly male fish attendant if they let people take home the dying beta fish, he asked a lady who I guess was in charge, she came over to me and asked how she could help. I asked if I would be able to take home or rescue the dying beta fish as it was dying.... she said "we don't give them away, he's sleeping"... it really is extremely sad to me that they would rather it die and throw it away later than to let my attempt to save it. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with the service we received for my puppy's very first grooming experience. When I picked him up, he was still soaking wet, which suggests he wasn't properly dried after his bath. On top of that, his nails weren't trimmed even though that was included in the grooming package we chose. Instead of completing the service, I was told that my puppy would need to be sedated for a nail trim. That's not only concerning but also feels like an excuse for a lack of skill or patience. A professional groomer should be equipped to handle basic grooming tasks, especially for a young dog's first visit. Overall, this experience was frustrating and disappointing. I strongly feel this business needs more qualified groomers who are capable of properly handling dogs and delivering the services they advertise. read more

We love shopping here with our pups. Since one of our pups is a Samoyed, we take her for grooming. I don't have a specific groomer go to, but any of them provide great service. Easily book an appointment on the app and pay. It's good they open at 7am too. Always make sure you bring proof of vaccination. The grooming took over 2 1/2 hrs. The groomer will keep in contact if there's any updates and ready to pick up. They have always done an amazing job with the groom. If only I wish this PetSmart has a pet hotel since the nearest store is in Concord. read more

PETSMART NEEDS TO TRAIN THEIR GROOMERS BETTER OR HIRE BETTER QUALIFIED PEOPLE. THIS REVIEW IS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE GROOMER RYAN AT PETSMART IN LONE TREE WAY ANTIOCH. My dad took his dog for grooming and the dog was under so much stress that he bit one of the groomers. The dog is eight years old, no bite history, has been groomed all his life since he was a puppy. When I asked the manager, she told me the dog ran out of the crate when the groomer Ryan went to get it and when he tried to grab the dog from behind that's when he got bit. My dog has been fearful since then. Not sure what really happened, I wish I could see a video and see if there was any mishandling from the groomer's side. You would also think Petsmart covers these type of incidents but my dad just received a letter from a law firm representing the groomer asking for my dad's insurance. Not sure if he will sue my dad. Just wanted to warn people that Petsmart groomers will sue the owners if a dog bites them. I don't think it even matters if it was the groomers fault or not. read more

I'm writing this so everyone who takes their furry animals here can be very careful . I booked at this PetSmart store on March 19th, 2025. Three days after the visit, I noticed a bald spot on the back of my cat's neck I went to go buy antibacterial spray from PetSmart to see if the wound would get better but it just started getting bigger and then I got ringworm on my arm it was super itchy I am a medical assistant so that's when I noticed that I had ringworm and he had passed it on to me and the bald spot on the back of his neck was also ringworm because it looked like a circle bald spot I also noticed that he was super sad and he wasn't eating he wasn't drinking anything and it wasn't getting better so on March 21st, which I initially treated with an antibacterial spray as I mentioned. However, his condition worsened-- he became lethargic, the area turned red and more hair began falling out. By March 31st, I had to take him to the emergency vet, where he was diagnosed with ringworm, a highly contagious fungal infection. I also got diagnosed with ringworm by my doctor the same day. The vet visit cost me $741.55, and I had to pay an additional $59.53 for my cats antibiotics and $179.75 for antifungal oral medication. I also contracted ringworm from my cat and needed medical treatment myself. This situation has caused both financial and physical stress. Given that this condition developed immediately after the grooming visit and worsened rapidly like I mentioned above. I believe it's highly likely that my cat contracted ringworm at this pet smart facility. I have receipts for all of this and even the vet told me that it is very likely he got the ringworm from this grooming salon especially since he's a strictly indoor cat only. I've incurred, totaling $980.83. for this ridiculous mess that this facility made me go through. I even went out of my way to contact them and see what they can do about it. Nope they said they aren't taking responsibility. I have documentation available, including receipts, the veterinary diagnosis, and my prescription costs, and I was telling them that I can show them all that and they still told me that they don't care and that they're not going to take responsibility. I am just writing this so other pet owners that actually do love their pet don't make the same mistake that I did and just don't bring your animal here. I have to tell my work and my work isn't letting me come back for a whole month because of how contagious this ringworm is. UPDATE : the manager Cara I mean CaCa said she couldn't cover any of the cost because they have him as black jack in their system because I adopted him from PetSmart with the name black jack and since I change his name to smokey lol thats why they couldn't refund me. We've been taking our dogs there for grooming for years. Very disappointed in the service the last two times. We made the appointment for 9:00 am. My wife dropped the dog off at 8:55 and went grocery shopping. At 10:30 she returned to pick up the dog and, once again they hadn't even started the grooming on the dog. They told her that it was going to be at least 1-1/2 longer because the dog is a big dog. Someone tell me why the size of our labrador makes any difference. Shes a 3 year old lab weighing 70 lbs. My wife told them she had frozen food in the car that was thawing. They told her again "at least another 1-1/2 hour. 1 hour later and with food thawing out my wife returned to find the dog still wet from her bath, no nails trimmed, and no hair cut. Digusted and mad as hell she took the dog and left the store. But not before she had to pay them a charge of $78 for a bath only. This is the second incident of this treatment at the Petsmart store in Antioch. I guarantee it won't happen again. We are considering a small claims suit for return of some of the charges plus court costs! read more

I was there today buying dog tags, and a super rude "Karen" was there about 11:00 and was yelling at the staff. I disclosed with Rochelle in the grooming department that the dog I brought in today was my aunt's longtime companion and that she had recently died. She proceeded to point out a few issues in the dog's hair, no problem. She nonchalantly said she'd be bald and explained that she would need to dematt and with that comes a fee. No problem. Rochelle did not explain what dematt meant, she explained it as "brushing." Instead, she shaved the dog completely. I was charged $103 for a 1/4 inch haired, 7lb dog. $30 of which was this "dematting" fee. My grandmother, obviously upset, came back to the store after seeing the dog. The manager immediately pressed his body against her and angrily said there's nothing he could do. He brought us back to the grooming department where we were met with hostility from both Rochelle and the manager. Before leaving, Rochelle shouted saying we were awful pet parents and neglect our dog. Mind you, this is my aunt's dog. My aunt died. I told Rochelle this earlier. Heartless. Rochelle, I hope you never go through what our family has and receive such horrible treatment during your low times. Rochelle also said to us on drop off that she couldn't see well and won't wear glasses to work. She couldn't even read our number off the paper she had us sign that apparently said we agreed to the dog being shaved bald. Should've trusted my gut but instead I trusted you thinking you loved animals as we do. Confused on how management is okay with this behavior. Have been going for years but staff is unfriendly and look like they don't want to be there. Example: used to take my dog training there when he was 6 months old. The girl trainer couldn't handle my dog and I finally cuat the training short because she couldn't help. Months later I went there and she asked how he is. I said trying to get training still but his blood line is strong. My kid was with me and she suggested to euthanize my dog. What an idiot you work with animals and you suggest that. This store always has a stock! My dog's food is sometimes hard to find, but I'm able to find it both frozen and freeze dried at this location. Which makes it great whenever I miscalculate our delivery order. The staff is always friendly to me and my dog and have started to recognize us. The store is clean, the pet hospital is staffed and there are plenty of small animals, fish and cats available for adoption. It's a nice store to take my dog shopping at. Came all the way from Walnut Creek to get a mouse. This is the only store I could find that sells female mice. I got there at 8:37 PM and the guy that says he's a store manager comes running over. Can't wait to tell me that they stop selling it at 8:30.. since there's too much paperwork involved in selling a mouse and he's not breaking store policy for that. Now I gotta drive all the way back to Walnut Creek empty-handed now I can see why this store only has 2 1/2 stars. Funny now that I look back at another review, he told the same thing to somebody that wanted to buy some feeder fish and what's funny is he told me he would sell feeder mice after 8:30 but not fancy mice. Grooming dept.Make sure to look at your receipt before you pay. I was charged $60 for one dog and $74 for the other. When I went to ask why they started making fee' s up. Telling me well it's a weekend fee and oh it's cause he's mixed. Ridiculous right. First of all it was mother and son that I brought in and two how did you come to this weekend fee of $14 charging me this mysterious fee for only one dog. So I went to manager for my refund, she spoke with grooming and said that the son(9ibs) was bigger the mom (10lb) yorkie. PetSmart Dog Training - This the ugliest grooming i ever seen - Pet Stores Near Me - Antioch, California

We stopped in here today, June 7, just before 5pm. Eila (long rapunzel hair in fish department) seemed to be in a very bad mood when interacting with customers around us. She did not want to sell us these Tiger Barbs. We are very responsible fish owners, as we have owned fish our whole lives. I know for a fact that 6 baby tiger barbs and 1 medium tiger barb would be great in a 20 gallon tank before they grew up too much. They require 20 gallon minimum, with 3 gallons per barb. That would put it at 21 gallons necessary, however taking into account how small the 6 tiger barbs are, would be perfect. I have done my adequate research, and this is not my first time owning tiger barbs. She eventually allowed my husband to purchase the 6 babies, only allowing the 7th after we got a manager involved. (Which, btw, the manager said they would be fine in the 20 gallon not 50 gallon.) She then, tried telling him about how he should be treating his tank making him feel stupid, when I can guarantee you that he alone has more experience with fish than she does. He is much kinder than I am, but still expressed how she made him feel stupid. Upon reluctantly selling us these fish per her managers direction, Eila told me we would not be able to return them and that if we tried, we would be banned from their stores. I called customer service and they explained to me that in no way would I be banned and would be allowed to return the fish. They also had told me that it would be perfectly fine to house these barbs in our 20 gallon. Another time, we attempted to return a fish that passed after purchasing from the petsmart in Pittsburg to this Antioch location and they refused our return. This is against petsmart policy. They said the reason was because since we purchased it from that Pittsburg location, and they have bad tanks. If it's a dead fish, it is okay to return anywhere. The only reason the fish had passed was because all the other fish they had in that tank at Petsmart had passed. (We found out after driving all the way to Pittsburg and chatting with the workers.) At the Antioch location, they were telling me how bad the Pittsburg location is and to never shop there.. However, I've had better luck at the Pittsburg location. We will not be returning to this location. Probably not any Petsmart location honestly. We tried giving Petsmart another chance, but Eila ruined it for us today. We spend thousands of dollars a year on fish and lizard supplies, and Petsmart has lost that business. Petco is much friendlier, and I've never had a fish die from Petco. read more

Went to this location to purchase some doggy aspirin for my older Blue Heeler. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted, which was the only time I received any sort of verbal confirmation my entire time there. While in the supplment isle, a employee( or crazy customer )who wasn't wearing any identification badges and wasn't dressed in any sort of company clothes was organizing the section and saw me approach and I didn't even receive a hello, how are you today or what are you looking for or any of that. Never made eye contact or even acknowledge me, then just walked away. Couldn't find what I was looking for I decided to try and find someone else to help me. OK well trying to find another employee, I saw a customer standing at the register waiting to be checked out and three of the female employees standing near the end of the other registers all talking and just standing there while the gentleman was waiting patiently. Decided to just leave after seeing that. Save your time and drive down the street to Petco. read more

LMAO...to the person with multiple personality issues/names complaining about ringworm for your cat that seems to also have multiple personalities/names, Ringworm is a contagious fungal infection caused by common mold-like parasites that live on the cells in the outer layer of your skin. It can be spread in the following ways: Human to human or pets. Ringworm often spreads by direct, skin-to-skin contact with an infected person/animal. It is only transferred by contact. It does not fester for over a week and you showed photos of yourself with a large sore on YOUR arm...that was clearly untreated for some time. The grooming staff only handles one animal at a time, and certainly the groomer would have contracted ringworm from your cat/s immediately after contact-to date she has no symptoms, nor has anyone else filed a complaint for their pet contracting this highly communicable fungal disease. I have worked in Animal husbandry for over 22 years and this is definitely not an ailment that required a trip to an emergency vet 10 days after YOU neglected what could have been a routine vet appointment or (even better), a call to Petsmart right away so that they could have had their vet (Banfield) examine the cat. Ringworm does not necessitate a $500 blood test, nor does a $60 antibiotic have any affect on ringworm. Additionally, you doubled up on the $81.89 prescription to the tune of $180, which is even more of an affirmation that you either had more pets to treat at home or you thought you would be entitled to a refund of your excessive medical expenses. Perhaps you want to write another review using the name "POS PET PARENT", so the truth (your CACA/BS) won't be missed by anyone... I hope PetSmart declines any refund requests you may have submitted, because your negectful (in)actions do not constitute an emergency reaction on their part. read more

I'd give no stars if I could-- This one employee has ruined what perception I previously had for the store! This was the first time I've ever had a rude encounter with poor customer service at this PetSmart. EILA (long brown hair, white girl) in the fish department was incredibly rude. I thought maybe she was having a bad day, but after looking here, I can see that I'm not the first to have a bad encounter with her (I don't know why she's still working there). My sister just bought a starter 6gal tank and we wanted to pick out some fish after getting the tank setup. Unfortunately, we got EILA who immediately asked what sized tank we had and was incredibly rude about how we could only have 3-4 guppies not 6. We thought maybe it would be okay, but we did used to own a 10gal tank before- EILA then went on about how if she lets us buy 6 fish, then she will note it for our purchase and if they die we wouldn't be able to return it, AND that if we tried to return it, or if its noted that we're buying a lot of fish, she'll have us flagged and we'll be banned from buying any more fish with them. I really don't understand why she was so hostile with us. I feel like I'm being treated like a fish serial killer. I understand that there's a fish policy, but I'm being treated like I was asking for 15 guppies for a small tank. And we mentioned that might've wanted to get an Plecostomus and she slammed down her clipboard and asked which on. We said we didn't want any from the tank on the bottom but instead one of the grey ones from a higher tank-- EILA stated "I wouldn't have sold those to you because they could grow up to 2ft." Uh, they were all completely dead in the bottom tank, that's why we didn't want them. And if the fish started to grow too large.... We would've just upgraded our tank to a bigger size, as we planned to eventually do anyway. We didn't even explain this to her because she kept writing fast and furiously and commenting about "WELL NOT FOR A 6 GAL TANK." I was so embarrassed and my mother asked me if we should go somewhere else, and I told her we would after speaking to a manager. EILA then had the gall to be like "So are you buying the fish?" I went and found a manager to express my disbelief and how poor the customer service was. I should've asked the manager if she could get the fish for us, but I was so embarrassed and upset that I didn't want to be near that woman EILA again. After seeing that she already has bad reviews here, I'm not hopeful that anything can be done about it. It was such an uncomfortable experience and I really hope people read this to avoid EILA. We then went to Petco, where their fish employee was able to explain the ratio for fish and water without being outright hostile and rude and we were able to purchase our 4 fish AND baby plecostomus for our tank. There is a way to educate your customer for the wellbeing of the fish, without treating your customer poorly and rudely. I love going to this store, and I bring my dog sometimes too!! According to my PetSmart account, I've spent enough at that store to be a "VIPP", but this experience made me feel like a fish murderer instead. Oh my goodness, I came in here because I was looking for a greater selection of urinary specialty cat food. I'm not sure what's going on on that store, but clearly everyone in there hates their job. So rude. They had one can of the food I was looking for all the rest were cellophane wrapped in this really heavy stuff. She's like if you want more they're in there. This is more of a concern and a suggestion before this product gets taken down the shelves. I recently began purchasing some of your products "full cheeks" for our Guinea Pigs. At first I had no issues, however shortly after my son and I noticed weird parts mixed in with the hay. We started finding bird feathers, and what looked like small bones. Today, upon filling up our Guinea Pig's hay bin we found a full on "bird wing". We did like your products, but this is absolutely disgusting and NOT sanitary. These are products that we touch and feed to our pets. As a regular patron who has purchased many items over several years at this location including fish, reptile food, cat & dog food, toys, etc., I have always gotten into the common line of customers waiting for checkout from 1 of the 4 registers. As I, and one other customer wait our turn (for 7-8 minutes) for a register to open today, a 3rd customer who approached a register dirctly with no regard to her environment, is called to be helped next by a newly available cashier, so I call out " the line is back here" as I gesture behind me, and I approach to be rung up next (as it was my turn). Background: I called the 925 number listed on the website. The gentlemen offered me an appointment for the same day at 2:40pm. I arrived exactly at 2:40 with my dog, who was nervous and shaking because it was his first time being groomed and it was all new to both of us. When I got there, they told me that they couldn't take him..................what the heck!!!!! Below is a photo of the reminder that PetSmart sent me. I was told that the call center made a mistake, and that the appointment was at 1:40, that they did not have time to accommodate me, that it was a Sunday and that they close at 6pm. I was preparing to stay and wait, and they then told me each grooming session takes between 3-4 hours. There were at least 3 groomers standing around while this conversation happened. I asked to speak to the manager several times, they finally called her and then she and this man show up (was that to intimidate me????). Instead of acting like a leader and trying to figure out a way to be professional and represent her company in the most positive manner, she stated that the call center man wasn't on the floor, and she couldn't be responsible for someone that wasn't there!!! Attached is the confirmation from Petsmart - proving the time. I was in tears by this time, my dog whimpering and shaking - what a way to create an environment of where people want to come and spend money, and to and use your services. They lost a customer today, not just for grooming, but for food, supplies, toys, etc. Such a disappointment!!!! Please avoid this place at all costs - I should have read the reviews beforehand, but I assumed that by being a PetSmart they would have great customer service, boy was I wrong. Instead of saying let's try and get another appointment setup, or let's give you a coupon, or even emphasize with my situation - the "too bad so sad" attitude is unacceptable, and this grooming shop should not be in business and that manager should not be managing this store. read more

This happened this morning, I received a call from idk the store manager or the groom dept manager, stating there was an accident with my poor lil dog Zombie. She stated the groomer cut a lil nick not more than an inch on the neck and don't required stitches but being transferred to Banfield to have the dr. to check. The manager transferred the call to Banefield. Mind you we were transferred 3x which is a bit frustrating. Finally spoke to the Dr. and he mentioned accidents happened etc etc and his skin is flapping so they need to use staples to close it up. Upon arrival, when I saw my dog it was definitely not a lil Nick it was 3 inches long and it looks deep. This to me was NOT AN ACCIDENT it's more of being careless, not paying attention of what you're doing!!! The fact that it's on the neck it could be worse and he would have died!! Yes, we are being compensated for his medical needs but the fact that my lil fella is already a nervous wreck and dislikes going to the groomer this incident made it worse whereas he may be traumatized getting groom again. No upfront apologies from the manager nor the groomer....Unacceptable. read more

Don't get your fur baby groomed here. There's this groomer named Melissa! She's the worst groomer ever. She killed my dog! I couldn't screw this piece of shit dumb of a corporation. Because, I signed a waiver. See, what happened was Melissa cut opened my Bella. & never apologize.. I rushed my dog to the emergency room, they said they fixed her. This review is for the grooming area only. I booked an appointment via their app and paid $82 for Zooey to be groomed. They told me it would take 4 hours, which seemed like a long time. They called and said she was ready for pick up after 2.5 hours. When I picked her up she was shaking and whimpering which is very much NOT her normal behavior. This is not her first time getting groomed here but this is the first time she's exhibited this type of behavior. She didn't even come back to me properly groomed. The trim is uneven, she seems to be shedding more, and she doesn't even smell clean. She didn't even get a bandana so we could "pretend" we got our money's worth. When I got her home she went straight for her water bowl. Do they not give the dogs there water? I'd hate to think her not having water for the four hours she was supposed to be there. Additionally, when I got there I waited for 5 minutes before my presence was even acknowledged. There were two employees, one was looking at her phone and the other staring at the back wall. This gave me time to look at the floors and tools which were covered in fur and did not look clean or professional. The grooming area needs to get their act together! read more

This organization is so dishonest. Had an appointment to drop off my doggie. Taken here many times without any issues. So I get ready. I'm waiting in line to drop off my dog for his appointment. The groomer had told the lady in front of me sorry Miss we have to charge you an extra $20 because your dog was nipping at us while we were trying to shave down his nails. The lady responded that's a surprise because my dog is not aggressive and he usually does well. I've been taking him here for years so the lady proceeded to say yeah he bit our groomer so we have to charge an additional $20. The lady said fine so as I'm getting up to the counter, I'm checking it and my dog. The lady said oh by the way we notated your account because the last time your dog was here he bit our groomer when we were trying to foul his nails down. I said that's weird cause my dog is the most gentle thing you ever know, and I proceeded to say, isn't that fairly common when you're messing with a dog's nails they tend to nip or give you a warning but not in an aggressive way she says yeah, but we still have to pay the additional $20 I said cancel my appointment because I have another groomer to take them to and they never have any problems with them and the lady said fine. It's your choice. Customer service sucks here. I hope this gets to corporate and do a better training with their staff to be much more honest rather than trying to make a buck off of the customers. read more
