The clerk helped me find the right enzymatic laundry soap to take out my cat's urine scent from a cover, and they also had a good selection of these cool, refillable catnip Kong toys! Both kitties approve :) read more

So kind and helpful always! Lots of fish and small mammals, as well as supplies of all sorts. I buy my crickets here and they are cheaper than anywhere else. Highly recommend them over any big box store. Shop local! read more

this is one of the only places locally where I can buy live mice/feed for my snake (who will not eat prekilled/frozen mice). I don't know what I would do if they were not around! read more

I love this store!!! I needed to get shots for my puppy and his mother and "DDD" was the employee that helped me. He was so very kind and very informative regarding the brands of dog food they specifically sell. After taking his advice and switching from a major brand to Diamond, my pups are happier and healthier than ever!!! Not to mention the prices are beyond reasonable!! They don't sacrifice on quality while still having incredible prices!! I'm now a loyal and forever Pet Connection customer and supporter Ten stars across the board!!! read more

Amid the panic of COVID19, my partner and I were on a desperate hunt to find Gouda a very specific bone. Gouda has been loyal to bones that imitate/resemble wood and at only 6months old, we knew we needed to replace the nub of her old bone. Owners welcomed us when we walked in, gave us space to look around, and then engaged with our dog. Easy to chat with and knowledgeable. Fantastic variety of toys, treats, food, etc. Though in the past I've spent days finding this type of bone, they had the EXACT type of bone we needed! We will be returning for ALL of our dog needs. read more

Love this place so much. The owners are so lovely and always take the kids back to pet and hold a sweet little animal. My bargain-shopping hubby is happy with their excellent prices on bulk dog food. And it's convenient, COVID-safe, huge variety of pet supplies - this place is really the best. read more

My pet supply store for over a decade now. I love this family owned business; Chris & Tom are always extremely sweet and helpful. Over the years I've had the pleasure of taking care of all my pet car needs at a single location. The owner use to breed Pugs; my Lucy & Bam are products of his late stud Nitro. I've bought mice to feed my snake & alligator, dog food, snacks, leashes, fish, hamster cages, animal toys and much more. They stock all the healthiest food brands and supplies best for your breed. Pet Connections is more than a pet store it's almost like an extended family how at home you'll feel doing business here. I hate I no longer live close enough to visit as often as I use to. They're even open on Sunday's. read more

Pet Connection doesn't have the most welcoming exterior or interior. In fact, it's a cluttered mess (faded posters on every inch of the walls/windows and stuff everywhere). But, they have a nice selection of tropical fish, birds, reptiles, small animals and pet supplies. I am extremely impressed with the selection of dog food. They carry brands that focus on health and price, not marketing. I have shopped around and I have not found the same quality of healthy food at this price point anywhere. read more

Not the best for rats or fish. We are fish enthusiasts and are looking to become rat owners as well. When we came into the store to inquire about pet rats, they said they did indeed have pet rats for sale. They then took us to a cramped closet and pulled a glass aquarium full of feeder rats out of a bottom shelf to show us. The males and females were kept together, even though some of the rats were of breeding age. They tried to convince us to buy a feeder rat as a pet because we'd be saving lives, and then encouraged us to "pick a smaller one so it probably isn't pregnant." Next, we asked about what kind of cage they recommend for rats. As it turns out, they don't sell rat cages, or any cages that could even be suitable for rats. They showed us a hamster cage but told us if we plan to buy two it would not be big enough. This means they would likely have had no qualms about selling us a solitary rat, even though rats should only live in groups of two or more. While we waited for them to look up the pricing on getting a rat-appropriate cage on order, we took a look at their aquariums. The gourami tank had a dead fish floating in it, clearly dead for days, and the rest of the gourami in the tank were looking sickly because of it. The visit ended without us knowing how much the rat cage would cost because they couldn't find out between their vendor catalog and website. Between the sad state of the aquariums and their attitude towards pet rats, I don't think we'll be going back. Their dog and cat sections seemed fine, though. read more

I love this locally owned pet store. They carry the specialty food that my pups need at a good price. The store is also color coded for ease of navigation. The owners are very knowledgeable and always friendly. I enjoy stopping by and chatting with them. They go out of their way to help you and make you feel welcome. If you have pets and live or work in the City you should support this wonderful local business. read more

Support your local pet store! The owners are super-friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and HELPFUL above all. If you're tired of shopping the big chain stores and being just another face in the crowd and customer # to them, give your business to Pet Connection instead! They carry the grain-free brand of food, that my cats and dog eat, at a more reasonable cost than buying online and having it delivered. With weekend hours on both Saturday and Sunday, I can always make time for a quick run over there. read more

usually I really love this place. the family that owns it is super nice and helpful. but some of the other guys they have in there are not. twice now I went in for a particular fish and both times they tried to sell them to me as the wrong fish and had to Google to show them the right fish. that being said they have very nice looking fish and tanks but some of the staff Do Not know what they are talking about read more

As previously stated, it is not going to win any awards on its ascetics but this is a nice little shop. We get all of our cat food here. They have a nice selection of high end, healthy organic food here that our cats love. The staff is very friendly they are very chatty. We would much rather give our business to a local family store, such as this one, and pay a little more than shopping at a chain store! read more

You could not ask for a better pet shop. I am all about supporting local business so when I discovered Pet Connection we started shopping there right away. They are one of the few stores in St. Louis that carry the brand of dog food we use and they always have it in stock. The customer service is amazing, they even remember my dog's and my name! You could not ask for a better place. Forever customer right here! read more

Wonderful store. Can not say enough good things about it. Not sure what dog food to buy for your doggy? They have more dog food than I have ever seen, and the gentleman asks you what type of dog you have, whats your budget, do you want grain free etc. to make sure you walk out with the best food for you and your dog. Very knowledgeable. Toys, doggy treats, leashes so big that I can not even imagine what type of dog that would fit (most likely a polar bear lol) Girl behind counter was really helpful and cheery. I love walking into a store where people are smiling and genuinely seem happy to help you. They had a bunch of reptiles and fish but those aren't really my thing but I know there was a lot of them. Couldn't tell you what kind. Honest, friendly, happy and knowledgeable staff. That on top of having everything you could possibly want makes this store get 5 stars read more

We love Pet Connection. Not only do they carry great products for our dogs, but they build individual relationships with clients. I found this gem after a failed trip to Pet Smart. I found everything I was looking for at Pet Connection, and so did my min pin Mello. The owners were so pleasant and helpful. They were quick to give help, and some head scratches to Mello. As he is currently gobbling down the food they suggested, I would say he was a fan of their suggestions. read more

Why would you or I shop at PetsMart or PetCo ever again? This place offers the same or lower prices, is locally owned, and is more conveniently located than any major chain store in the city. Great locally owned pet shop. They also have top quality dog and cat food without the annoyance of the big box stores. The owner's daughter is very knowledgeable on everything and is always willing to help. Their prices are in line with Amazon...but I would rather give the money to a local store. I have been going there for years and will continue to do so. read more
