We had a great experience with Wolfgang's. We were only in town for a quick visit and needed to find pup care for our 15lb chi-mix since we were staying in a hotel and wanted to see some St. Louis sites. We were able to get in around 5:30pm for a quick temperament test which our "old man" passed. The next day we dropped our pup off around 10am for doggy daycare and his "bath&brush" spa day. We picked him up at 6:30pm (Wolfgang's closes at 7pm) and this later time allowed us to get an evening meal in without having to look for a patio. The staff we encountered were all very friendly. I cannot say enough good things about Wolfgang's Pet Stop. The staff here are incredible and actually care about your pups and take excellent care of them. My girls get so excited to go here and love every staff member. I have 2 toy poodles and book Rachel to groom them. I would advise booking in advance because they are busy and they do book up. I am so happy with how they treat and handle my dogs and I will never go anywhere else, they have never looked so good with the former groomer I used. Rachel does an outstanding job and I cannot recommend her enough. The prices are very reasonable and comparable to other grooming shops and are actually exactly the same as the former groomer I used (who was based in Ellisville about 5 minutes from my house) and I drive 25 minutes to Wolfgang's but it is absolutely worth the drive. The only downside is that sometimes it can be hard to find street parking but it's not that big of a deal and not their fault for that. I have booked several appointments for the following months and I like that they allow me to do that. My former groomer would only let me book 2-3 appointments in advance at a time but Wolfgang's is very organized and their staff are incredibly professional and friendly. Rachel took the time to speak with me personally when I picked up my pups last time because she wanted to show me the correct brush I should be using on my pups (the brush my former groomer told me to get wasn't getting all of the matts out of their fur and she showed me what she uses - I really appreciated her suggestion and that she cared for my dogs to show me). The first time my pups got groomed here I was speechless with how happy I was with how they were cut and styled and how great they smelled. I love the products they use and they smell amazing. Their fur had never been so soft and the style and cut was PERFECT and exactly what I wanted. Rachel is very knowledgeable and an expert in her craft. I love having Wolfgang's so close to me and this review is only for their grooming. They do a wonderful job on our dog Wanda Lee, so much so that some people think she is a totally different dog. Wanda is part long hair dachshund and we let her fur grow out in the winter, but once spring comes, it has to come off because she gets too hot. Now if you ask Wanda Lee if she likes it, she'll say she loves Wolfgang's and the person who cuts her hair. I'm not giving that name out because she busy enough as it is. Okay, it's Kelli. I know that they have day care and a lot of dog supplies. They also have a few bakery items for your furbaby. If there is a dog at the top of the steps when you come in, don't be afraid. I had used Wolfgang's for years for my two dogs. The services very good. The dogs were always very well groomed when I pick them up. my dogs always needed the shedding to get rid of loose hair. I had a financial setback and did not come in for about six months. When I did bring them back in, I was hit with an excess charge because they hadn't been in. The gentleman, Who I believe is Beth's husband basically chastised me for my dogs not being in there on a regular basis and was highly unfriendly. I have not been back in the last five years. My dog probably doesn't need to be professionally groomed. She has short hair, doesn't really mind if we wipe or clean her ourselves for any reason, and will stay still through anything for food. But we still take her here instead for her bath once a month, because she comes out sooooo soft smelling sooooo clean for days. Dropping her off gives us an entire half day to ourselves to not worry, knowing she's in good hands being pampered, and we don't really have to make a 2 person ordeal out of it regularly. And I believe there are deals on daycare the rest of the day and short lessons to take advantage of when you make an appointment for grooming. It can get expensive on a regular basis, but it saves a ton of trouble and they are super friendly. Upstairs there's also a small shop with food and treats and a small selection of toys and essentials. You can pretty much drop your dog off for a bath, leave her there for the rest of the day to hang out and learn stuff, and pick up a treat to spoil your clean and smarter pet on your way out. This is the best place to take your dog if they have fear around nail trims! I have had my rottweiler mix, Rotini, for about 2 years now and he has long been scared of getting his nails done. Ever since we started going to Wolfgang's, he has improved immensely. These groomers not only want to do a great job on the groom this time, but they want it to be a positive experience and understand the importance of reducing the fear for next time!!! They also give such positive feedback to the owner and are so kind. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
