I sent my husband to pick up our dog, knowing that when he got there in 15 minutes, he would be ready. When my husband got there, he found that our baby had NOT been touched! our groomer said they had numerous walk-ins and it would be ~90 minutes before he could work on our baby & complete his scheduled grooming. This was UNACCEPTABLE and we requested our dog be returned to us immediately. We are VERY DISAPPOINTED that we had an appointment and our dog was left in a small dog kennel for 4 hours as they worked on WALK-IN's. Since when do WALK-IN's take precedence over an APPOINTMENT that had been booked SEVERAL weeks ahead? A call was placed to the store to speak to a manager and 3 1/2 hours later...no return call! This whole turn of events shows how Petsmart DOES NOT CARE about the pets that come in to their grooming center nor the pet owners. To top this whole event off, it was our baby's 7th birthday, and he had to spend 4 hours sitting in a small dog kennel all by himself. SHAME ON YOU ALL. They filled me in on all the possible reasons my water feature could be losing water and gave me the number of Chad at Gateway Aquatics to come look at it. We are handy. My husband is in construction. We both stared at the water feature and had no idea where to even start troubleshooting it. I was SO grateful when Chad came by. Now, it's not free to have him come by...but it's helpful. He was very informative in explaining all the possible issues and how they could go about fixing it. He texted me an estimate that day or the next and could start the work the following week. I waited about a month to schedule but he was on it then. A 50% payment is required before the work is done and it can be paid by credit card with no extra fee. Chad and the helper came by on time and did a great job fixing it. In my case, the water feature was leaking water. They dug up the hillside, replaced the hose, replaced one pump, replaced the waterfall box, and a few other small things. Total was around $2,500. I was shocked to hear him tell me how much people pay for these things. SHOCKED. I inherited it in a house purchase and it better be good for a while with no calls to Chad needed!

I called every hour to see if he was ready to go and was told he was misbehaving and was still in a crate in the back; I showed up 7 hours later and he was still sitting on groom table fighting with one of their groomers. I got him and took him home and within an hour realized that he had third-degree Burns and had to take him to an emergency vet then was informed by the emergency vet and my regular vet that he would never be able to go to a groomer again after the emotion and pain he suffered. Since I moved to Illinois, I am now a regular at their Edwardsville store. Sophia got two new bandanas, two small iced dog treats and one big Happy Barkday Cookie to celebrate her special day. When we did our morning walk, we took the big cookie with us. As we meet her neighborhood friends, we broke off a piece of the big cookie and shared her celebration. The staff was new to me, but I was happy to see they still provided the good customer service that Four Muddy Paws is known for.
