Dropped our dog off at our 10:30 am for our pre-scheduled appointment time. Called 3 1/2 hours later and was told by the person who took our call, that he looked done but the groomer was in the bathroom and would call when he returned. I sent my husband to pick up our dog, knowing that when he got there in 15 minutes, he would be ready. When my husband got there, he found that our baby had NOT been touched! our groomer said they had numerous walk-ins and it would be ~90 minutes before he could work on our baby & complete his scheduled grooming. This was UNACCEPTABLE and we requested our dog be returned to us immediately. We are VERY DISAPPOINTED that we had an appointment and our dog was left in a small dog kennel for 4 hours as they worked on WALK-IN's. Since when do WALK-IN's take precedence over an APPOINTMENT that had been booked SEVERAL weeks ahead? A call was placed to the store to speak to a manager and 3 1/2 hours later...no return call! This whole turn of events shows how Petsmart DOES NOT CARE about the pets that come in to their grooming center nor the pet owners. To top this whole event off, it was our baby's 7th birthday, and he had to spend 4 hours sitting in a small dog kennel all by himself. SHAME ON YOU ALL. There are many other pet stores that are available for our future pet needs, and we intend to use them instead of you. Again...SHAME ON YOU and YOUR STORE!!! read more

I will not be returning or recommending PetSmart grooming. I dropped my two dogs off and had to sign a paper stating what services I wanted. This was not completed. The trimming of the feet is hardly complete. There was no trimming of face. I read the items out loud clarifying what was to be done. One of my two dog looks like she was not dried or drug through a puddle. They do not smell good at all. Nails and bath for two 10 lbs dog cost over $60. I think not. I also find it a poor business practice to have you pay for your grooming service before you see your pet. They give you the bill you go out of the grooming department and pay and then come back for your dog. Which is happy to see you and dancing all around so it's hard to see what was done and what wasn't. I will be seeking out a small local groomer who cares about his/her customers and is just running an assembly line. read more

Just recently took a trip to the pet smart in arnold MO, to check out their new selection of bettas. I was taken back by the fact that the fish aren't taken care of as they should be. In fact, I even came across a dead betta. I even have a picture. When I brought the deceased betta to a workers attention, she rudely responded and snatched the betta and walked away to "take care of it". I am disgusted by the way these beautiful aquatic creatures are being treated. read more

Take my 17 year old American Eskimo to Kristen for grooming. Ajax was a rescue and very shy and anxious. He actually has begun to wag his tail when he see her and never hesitates to go into the grooming salon. She takes her time with Mr. "bottom heavy" as he sits frequently. I see the bad reviews here and have only one small incident with a different dog. They were upset and more than compensated for the mistake. read more

This Petsmart seems slightly smaller than some of the others I have been in but it was stocked well, clean, and organized. I checked in on the cats that were waiting for adoption and to their credit the two that were there were clean and looked content. read more

I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but the only way I'd take my dog back here to get him groomed would be as an absolute last resort. No one here seems to be able to do a haircut without leaving several gaps in his coat and the occasional long patch of hair hanging somewhere. I couldn't tell they did a thing to his nails, either. read more

The girl Lauren was absolutely horrible - She was out of line and down right rude to a customer as he calmly was trying to pick up his dogs. The man was trying to tell her that he just had a heart transplant and can't be around people or germs. She needs to be fired read more

Overall have always had a good experience. Had a questionable one though recently that I thought warranted sharing. Purchased a fish that was supposed to be a male. Got it home and it had about 15 baby fish 2 or 3 days later. I contacted the store and asked them for information and tried to determine if they would be helpful in this scenario. I've not had this happen before and hoped for some help since I purchased the fish from them. They told me they don't take babies and perhaps I should call PETCO. Well, I suppose I will. I will likely also consider alternatives when choosing to purchase additional fish. I realize it's not an absolute that they have all male fish, but I would think they'd have a policy of some sort to support animals they sell. It doesn't seem very sensible to not. read more

I purchased a puppy book and tried to get my pup groomed. Even though I had him microchipped at pet smart they would not accept him into the salon while I ran out to get his rabies paperwork from my car. I was parked up front. You could see my car through the window. My baby was peeing on himself and me because he was so scared. They just laughed and said someone was having a bad day. You'd think if they work with animals they would understand how much more stressful it would be running back and forth between store and car. Never going back to a store that laughs at scared puppies. read more

When choosing between this and the nearby Petco, I usually choose Petco. This Petsmart is large enough for an Arnold, MO pet store and is usually very clean and well organized. I love the tank setup in their aquarium section, as well! However, sometimes the employees are a bit hard to find and the night employees especially are not particularly helpful. read more

This store is a nice store, but don't waste your time on the grooming salon. I dragged my dogs out today in the rain and the mud to get their nails grinded. So we arrive and they can't find proof of my shots which I gave them the last time. The woman doesn't double check or ask someone for help. Nothing, just says bring them back when you have proof. So I come home call the vet, look at my PetSmart account online and what do you know I can clearly see they were there in April. The vet says they are all caught up on their shots. So I call up there and the woman that answers the phone has no problem finding them in the computer and clearly states "oh I see, they are all caught up on their shots. Do you want to make an appointment?" Really no explanation or apology. I will never use this location again. Clearly they don't want my business and based on the customer service I received today I don't think they want anyone's business. Groomers are a dime a dozen. If you don't already have one you love. Don't waste your time here. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

I built an aquarium for a mouse last week and bought all the supplies for it at Petco. After waiting a week for it to finish drying and the fumes all gone, I was closer to Petsmart today so I go in to look at all the small animals. Off of some advice I had seen given online, I asked if they carried live feeder mice. It was suggested that these are cheaper and could make good first time pets, before buying a more expensive rodent. The associate told me they do not sell them. So I told her I would take one of the fancy mice then. She told me someone would be right with me. I wait 5 minutes, and somebody finally arrives. Kristi, apparently the manager on duty, approached me and asked me to leave. I would not be allowed to make any purchases today. I asked her why, and she tells me because I'm going to feed it to a snake. I explained why I had asked for the feeder mice in the first place, but she said that I still couldn't buy anything. So I drove to Petco, got 3 healthier, livelier looking mice than anything you guys had in stock. There was a much larger selection(about 20 to choose from, whereas Petsmart had what looked like only 2 to choose from). And the prices were cheaper as well ($4.49 at Petco, $6.99 at Petsmart). Mice are social creatures and you are actually being cruel keeping the females in cages alone. And I was upset at first, but now I'm glad it happened. But I have never been kicked out of anything in my life, and I still am having trouble believing that that is how you treat your customers. The most ridiculous thing to me, is that you sell snakes. But you can't even inquire about live feeder mice without being kicked out of the store. And you also cost me extra time and a gallon of gas to drive out of my way to Petco that day. So I will not step foot in another Petsmart, and I will share my story with my whole family, friends, and any coworkers who care to listen over the next week. I just wanted to let you guys know of my situation, and my frustration with your brand. read more
