I was recently very disappointed and angry regarding how our beagle's health was handled just last…read moreweek. I brought him in because he was breathing very fast. First, the vet tells me he has a heart murmur, which really surprised me because he had been going there since we got him as a puppy to 7 years old as of last week and that condition was never brought up before. She did ask to do an x-ray to see if she could see anything about the heart before we had to take him to a dog cardiologist. She comes back and tells me he "might" have a murmur but the breathing was due to pneumonia. I had to then authorize another test to be sent out to find out what kind of pneumonia he had and was sent home with the lowest type of antibiotic until then and a $580.00 bill. Unfortunately, he passed away two days later. I don't understand how she didn't see he had so much fluid in his lungs and either do something to relieve that or keep him for observation. When I called them to tell him he died, all I was told that she was sorry and then transferred me to the receptionist to tell me MORE charges to take care of him from there! We took him to Imperial Animal Hospital instead where they had more compassion and lower prices to offer us during this difficult time. I will NEVER take another one of our animals there again. I feel the vet was very negligent in fully diagnosing his condition at that time. I have not heard another word from them and plan on disputing the charges with our credit card company. BUYER BEWARE!

We had to find boarding for our 3 dogs in short order as we had a family emergency out of town…read more None of the dogs had ever been boarded before so we were a little nervous on how they would do. We checked out Kritter Kare's Howliday Inn and a few other places near us on a Tuesday and the dogs had to be boarded starting Wednesday. We choose to use the Howliday Inn and I'm glad we did. The facility is clean, modern and welcoming. The 3 staff members we interacted with with were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. There is a large inside common area for the doggy day care and at least 3 outside play yards. I was shown two boarding areas and we were able to keep our 3 dogs together in one area which really seemed to help with any anxiousness they had about the new and unexpected situation. They were super accommodating to our needs of a very early drop off and a very late pick up due to the last-minute out of town travel. They communicated with me after the drop-off, providing updates and even pics on how the dogs were doing. The rates were fair/comparable and communicated up-front . The short story is the dogs were well taken care of and seemed to have a good time. I certainly recommend this business and will use it again if we need to board any or all of our dogs again. BTW - they also offer day sitting/playtime and additional services that can be performed while your dog is boarded such as grooming and nail care. Thanks to Jen and her staff for helping out in a hectic time and we're so happy that everything worked out great for the dogs.

When I needed to find a new care giver I was concerned since she had been at the humane society twice, so I wanted the best environment I could find for her. Williamsburg was one place recommended to me. When I visited, I felt very good about the facility and people. The facility was very clean, well organized and staffed. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in the animals under their care. My dog certainly seemed to enjoy her stays (and for a time she was there more than she was at home). She came to know the staff and was always happy to see them. The staff knew her and always treated her so nicely. She was always happy to arrive and just as happy when I came home. While I no longer travel as much, Williamsburg remains the place I trust to take care of my dog. She always seems happy to see the staff and I've been very happy with the service I have received.

The cut is uneven, particularly around her face, which appears choppy and not well blended. Her paws were also not cleaned up to the standard I expected. The areas of greatest concern are her armpit and belly, which were shaved extremely close. Her skin appeared irritated afterward, and there is a small area on her belly that looks consistent with a minor nick from the blade. I spoke with management to address these concerns and am currently requesting a refund based on the result and condition of the grooming. Overall, I am not satisfied with the service provided. If you have a long-haired or double-coated breed, I recommend clearly confirming grooming expectations in advance.

We were, of course, upset because we really didn't want to put him down but no choice,long story. Anyway, I made an appointment specifically for euthanasia, and explained the reason over ther phone. When we got there the vet would not put him down, but instead asked if we would be willing to try training. I was shaking when we walked out of there. Not a good way to run a business.

Their facilities are top notch, but my favorite part is that they divide dogs based not only on size but also activity level. At a different daycare, they had all of the dogs together in one big room, but here our energetic husky is paired with other high-energy dogs of a similar size. This has been such a game changer for her. On days my husband and I work longer, we're confident that she is in great hands and having a fun time. The dogs also have the option of playing indoors or outdoors and easy access between the two. We've paid for some of their services and have no complaints about their grooming or nail trimming. We love that they offer special treats, too, like a birthday treat or pictures with Santa. We also board our husky with them and have had great experiences. Their pricing is very transparent, and they take great care of their boarders. Our girl has a sensitive stomach and requires a more complicated feeding routine, and they were happy to accommodate us. They also kept us updated while we were on a trip when she basically ate a wasp and got stung. They treated her with our permission and sent us photo/activity updates. Also, they post pictures and will print some for you take, which is another small thing we love about Sled & Breakfast!
